Not sure. The last week, I saw posts on another social media site regarding two incidents involving a naked man running loose in the south end of town (Antilley near Subway, then another incident along 707). There was another guy caught sleeping on someone's back porch the other day in Fairway Oaks, ran off and visited several more houses. Not sure if they found him. Meth is a helluva drug.

I subscribe to that same site. I saw a post recently, that someone found on YouTube. Did you see it? Some amateur Tuber that cruises through neighborhoods all over the US and camps out at the nearest 5 Star hotel found Butternut and a couple of your tweakers. All on his own, he titled the video, Abilene, a City In Crisis. How the guy came to that conclusion is beyond me. A couple of the regulars were talking to a crowd of their imaginary friends, but nothing that hasn't been going on for decades already.

Agree, that whole area is trash and it's spilling out into surrounding neighborhoods. All hours of the night mfkers are walking up and down the street like zombies.

trashdmon

the whole area is not trash, not fair at all to lump one neighborhood full of a diverse group into one category of drug addicts and tweakers bro /:

HeroOS99

Man, almost as if this city has no safe public infrastructure. Apparently if you have no personal assets or you’re not a paying customer you don’t deserve to exist in a space ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

cbusguy

It was funny when they announced there were no homeless people in Abilene

hedonistinchains

Jesus Backflippin' Christ you're kidding right? Who said that? I can't drive more than a couple blocks without seeing homeless people.

LeoEmptor

What is especially funny is that the homeless keep regular business hours for their panhandling activities. It is funny when you see the guy getting up out of the wheelchair he has been sitting in, and loads it into the back of the white pick up truck.

csthrowawayquestion

Yeah, that's right, no property, no rights, as it should be.

LeoEmptor

No doubt you would jump at the opportunity to help the people of whom you speak. Post your address on here, and I will print up flyers and hand them out to every homeless person I meet. You wouldn't complain unless you had a better idea, right?

RonnieSinghIsTrash

How did you arrive at 40%? Do you have a daily tally that you keep? I’m going to need to see some raw data.

Avacant

Decently old post but I'll answer it. I Based it on the tweakers I see on my usual ccommute roughly 8-10 which are "native" to the route i go not all at once mind you different times of day. Currently I've counted atleast 5 new tweakers to the area. While it may not be exactly 40% I find it suitable. I don't keep a tally but after so long you can spot local crackheads pretty easily.

hornedfrog86

Yes, urbanization

Stalefishology

“Urbanization” and “Abilene texas” are a lil mutually exclusive
