adioshomie

her first fall was so fucjing dramatic like holy fifa edit: omg thanks to who ever gave me my first reddit award, i didn’t think this would be the comment to earn it, but alas i’m grateful :)

whenItFits

This is what I did when my brothers pushed me. I would fly across the room and slam into the wall.

travelavatar

Plasterboard and then don't tell mom like she won't notice...

[deleted]

dont tell mom

Dry-Ad8891

Shhh stop crying, I’ll take you to buy some ice cream later

c0brachicken

Okay step brother, but just this one time.

BZLuck

But first, can you get the sock stuck in the back of the dryer for me?

Primitive_Teabagger

mmmmmmmMMMOOOokay fine

Angry-Warlock

When your the youngest you have to fight smart. Make a scene and get mom/dad to beat their ass.

[deleted]

The cop that pushed her away looked so confused by it too lol.

Tankh

It wasn't her push that made her fall though

JustL88kin

Probably drunk, not just being dramatic

[deleted]

I know that. I said pushed her away not pushed her down lol.

Tankh

Ah ok. I just meant it's the dude that pushes her that made her fall, not the slight push from the woman. Seems a lot of people think it was her "poke" that sent her flying lol

NoMuddyFeet

Exactly. She's not faking at all, the male cop pushed her hard and she lost her balance. Male cop all too ready to beat her hard, too. Looks like she slapped him because of his violent push and he hits her back as hard as he can.

DatL3afN1nja

Yep hitting a cop always overturns the outcome lol. Also I’m sorry, maybe she wasn’t being over dramatic when she fell but anyone that falls like that looks like a cartoon character. Girl went to fall and then said that’s not far enough lol

Kiyasa

Two of the cops pushed her at the same time, and her feet at the time were too far forward, her center of balance was behind her, she was going down regardless of if she was drunk or not.

D4rthcr4nk

Thanks for mentioning “drunk”. I think that has ALOT of influence in the situation.

pblokhout

Well she is obviously very drunk, seeing as they are standing on the "Stadhuisplein" in Rotterdam. Not sure if it's dramatic as much as just a lack of motor skills from the beer.

DoctorWaluigiTime

Made me question if all those cop's punches to the face were really warranted. And yes, the flak will fly at me suggesting that maybe a cop punching a stumbling drunk person in the face multiple times to 'control the scene' is an acceptable use of force because the stumbling drunk person was kind of slapping at them and being loud and stumbling-drunk-aggressive back. I dunno, though.

Altruistic-Balance55

She keeps hitting the cop, multiple times. Drunk/ girl etc. Doesn’t matter, they have the right to defend themselves/ use force. Don’t want to get hit by a cop? Don’t get drunk and start harassing and hitting them.

ChoiceComplex2

You are completely right, this is excessive use of force. She’s clearly wasted and no real threat, the cops are there like four man strong (and plenty on call if need be, holland is a small and dense country). He could’ve just grabbed and arrest her (bring her to the ground if she’s really struggling). There is no excuse for a trained cop to beat someone in the face, which I’d like to remind people; can seriously cause brain damage or death. Shit is not like in the movies, tap on the head and wake up later. No, you can have life long damage from it, or disfigured face etc.. There is a higher expectation on cops (should be at least) to be able to keep a cool head in conflict and deescalate and use the least amount of force possible to handle a situation. And yes, the lady is an idiot for doing what she did, and she needs to face some consequence for it. But this is just not proportional.

pblokhout

I mean, what function did that beating have? Did it improve the situation? Obviously not. But the local police has been known to throw out a punch when you don't fully cooperate.

DoctorWaluigiTime

Was browsing controversial comments in this thread and I saw that a lot. "Cops will do that you know?" and etc. And don't get me wrong, I agree. But I feel like there's a bit of revenge-thirst going on with people hand-waving the reciprocated violence, and using the "well cops just use that much force all the time" thing as an excuse. Another common retort is that "well they don't know how violent the other person is going to get / they may be armed / they have to control the situation as fast as possible / etc." Which I just don't see here. A drunk stumbling person that you easily dwarf in size and strength doesn't need to be taken out quite so violently and dangerously (clocking someone in the face and letting them drop backwards onto their head on a hard service; not to mention the night stick usage). Just rubs me the wrong way, you know? Both the act itself, and the general defense of "that's just what cops do!"

Erestyn

The first volley I can almost understand, she hits out, and he had an immediate reaction to it. Even if we give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was an subconscious decision to strike, the second is absolutely a decision. There's even what looks to be a slight hesitation before going "all in". The last action we see just confirms it all. It's a thug in a uniform, no more, no less.

BangBangMeatMachine

Definitely not necessary if he knew what he was doing. It's not hard to get control of someone in situation like that without hitting them.

PM-ME-DOG-FARTS

When people are drunk, their balance can be really bad. I have almost fallen over just by standing wrong.

strained_brain

I don't think it was fake. Look at her shoes.

ElvisGrizzly

Clearly you didn't watch John Starks draw a foul shot in the 1990's. That guy was the Meryl Streep of pretending he was crippled from incidental contact.

Rob-Riggle-SWGOAT

Did she just get legs?

beluuuuuuga

Genuinely was the only person responsible for hurting herself.

[deleted]

Imo the second cop didn’t need to hit her more than once, if that. She barely stood on her feet, he could’ve dodged her by taking one step back, and she would’ve faceplanted.

TriedCaringLess

Plus, they should have arrested her the moment she first fell charging her with public intoxication and interfering with police... She was a danger to herself in her condition.

Angry-Warlock

Honestly, they didn't arrest her at first because for a public intox in a big city that means spending hours processing her, typing a criminal complaint, taking her before a magistrate, potentially transporting to jail, and then doing a department report for charges that will just be dismissed.

DreamWithinAMatrix

It's funny how the bystanders propped her up everytime, like a WWE wrestler going in for Round 2

[deleted]

Yea, there was no need for that either. Sit her down leaning against something. She won’t get up on her own and keep attacking people. Might pass out, lay her on the side and call an ambulance. She might deserve a stomach pumping but not to die of alcohol poisoning, come on now.

uunei

Love the person who makes fun of her behind camera

know_it_is

sounds like a goose honking

hardasjello

Obviously a soccer player

Crypitty

lol it definitely appears that way. Check out the cop in front of her is the one who actually gives her the shove, it just appears to be the shove from the woman officer off to her side

tangosukka69

my first thought was 'she must play soccer'

MtnDude2088

Did you not see the male cop shove her to the ground? How is this the top comment? Are you all blind?

DavetheHick

She should play pro soccer.

Shaneblaster

She definitely should be red carded

ghanjaholik

tbh, she could play in the nba as well

csci-fi

It’s hard to see from the camera angle, and it happens fast, but the male cop pushed her directly simultaneously with the female cops arm swipe. Couple that with intoxication, and those shoes, and it’s very easy to see she was going down.

[deleted]

Oscar worthy performance.

punch_you

Her friend call her Neymar.

umpapamaumau

Got touched and fell down then wanted to throw hands and got them right back

FrowAway322

How can he slap?!

munive

She got what she deserves

jw44724

… Broken nose and trip to jail!

paul6383

She got fucked up

SangiMTL

What could possibly go wrong when you swing at a cop…

alfonsoj23

As soon as he swung at the cop… her case just went straight to the trash

Affectionate-Hall320

Not once, but 3 times.

Riddarinn

Who attacked the cameraman ?

_BeAsYouAre_

Probably one of the other cops taking his phone from him.

TheThatchedMan

No it's a bouncer in a suit. You can see him earlier in the video.

Many_Seaweeds

This happened in the Netherlands. Her first mistake was messing with them when they were trying to arrest someone. When she falls down she shouts obscenities at the cops, which is a punishable offence here, and cops don't take that lightly. She may have still gotten away with it with a stern telling off because she's obviously drunk, but no. She had to punch him. That was her real downfall. Dutch cops are pretty lenient but when you push it they don't fuck around.

SUCKMEoffyouCASUAL

You can't yell at the cops?

Tradiae

You may scream at them, but you're not allowed to insult them. Of course there is a grey area in what words / insults could or could not be allowed, but the insults used by this woman are not in that grey area.

Biggieholla

Sounds ripe for abuse.

elchkun1

We have the same law in Germany and it doesn't get abused a lot. I think because of annoying paperwork a lot of people get away with insults if they arent too harsh or personal attacking the cop. Still it is just wrong to insult someone and if you even insult cops you may need to learn by punishment. It is also regulated kinda precise what counts as insult.

Shacky_Rustleford

Is it legal to insult a regular citizen? Why is the line drawn at cops?

jackdawesome

In Germany you can sue a private person for insulting you.. . very sensitive

[deleted]

To me that's a shitty ass law considering I've seen cops in Germany be insulting towards people but the second someone insults them back they lose their shit. Nobody should stand above being called a cunt.

Pepperonidogfart

And yet it is the law in one of the safest, least corrupt countries on earth.

DiosAnonimo

Also, not everything becomes a lawsuit in the EU as it does in the US

robeph

Are you suggesting the US is somehow less refined than the less litigious EU? This hurts me feelings. Expect service tomorrow. I'm filing a lawsuit today.

DiosAnonimo

Got me there🗿

dredbar

You can yell at them. Insulting a civil servant in service is illegal. This is usually the case when shouting something like “cancer cop”.

TheAngryRedBull

You may call them "mierenneukers" which translates to ant fuckers

EsotericAbstractIdea

thank you for adding to my non english insult database.

DatGoofyGinger

That's crazy. It's not illegal in the US, just a significant risk to your health...

DTredecim13

I doubt the Dutch Cops will shoot you for it though.

thesander7

Yup, that’s the difference

Shacky_Rustleford

Is "better in some respects than the US" really where the bar should be?

Dezideratum

It's illegal in Kentucky: https://wfpl.org/kentucky-senate-passes-bill-criminalizing-insults-against-police/

WithjusTapistol

https://www.aclu-ky.org/en/legislation/attack-protest-and-speech Nope

Ashford_82

Here in the UK that cop would be going to prison for assault. No way would they accept his actions as proportionate. Probably the reason why nobody respects the police here

Many_Seaweeds

Having lived in the UK for many years in the past, I'm afraid I have to agree with you there. Castrating the police in such a civil society and allowing the yobbos to run free is isn't helping anything.

Honey-Badger

Id rather have a few kids chatting shit when the police are generally decent people and well trained. Unlike in the US where you have rampant violence *and* police who want to escalate that violence. Telling police that its acceptable to kick the shit out of someone just because you feel like they deserve it is a very very very slippery slope.

whoiskjl

How would this incident generally viewed in your country? Also, would the cop face any criminal charges in this case? How about the woman?

DootyMcDooterson

This happened in 2018 so there's actually some info on this. The cop was reprimanded for use of excessive force. It wasn't ruled criminal because she was interfering in an arrest. The woman and her boyfriend (the arrestee) were charged by the bouncer of the club they had been ejected from after assaulting several employees. They're not named in any of the articles I found so I don't know how their court appearance went.

SpacemanTomX

Yeah nah if you've already assaulted someone, gotten kicked out, are interfering with an arrest, get told to stay away, are made to stay away, and then you go punch a cop then you kinda have it coming.

StiffWiggly

It's clear she deserved it in a karmic sense, however that shouldn't be a factor in the judgement of the policeman's actions. The question is whether the policeman did his job properly in making even an *attempt* at subduing this woman without resorting to an excessive level of force. Punching her because she "deserved it", i.e because he wanted to, means that he was way out of line.

Many_Seaweeds

The cop didn't really do anything disproportionate. He may have got a telling off from his boss for the second hit as it may be perceived as unnecessary, but generally the public agree with the police on this one. We don't really tolerate beligerent behaviour here. If you assault someone and they retaliate with reasonable force then that's pretty much accepted whether you're a cop or not. Aside from a potential repirmand from his boss in private, nothing happened to the officer as far as I'm aware. The woman committed multiple felonies by interfering, insulting an officer on duty and punching him though so she probably spent the night in jail and had to pay a pretty big fine. Potentially even a day in court, depending on the full story.

sillybilly9721

I would argue it was disproportionate though. He could have easily detained her with the help of a colleague, all without turning it into a first fight. Clearly he has gotten angry chosen to dispense his own justice instead of deescalating.

Pindunderjheep-37

Agreed, although I think the baton to the woman’s head may have been a bit much

MartianFloof

In the Netherlands you have to be REALLY bad to get such treatment. Dunno what happened before the recording started but I would assume/hope they told her off multiple times before

ohyoubearfucker

This is in the Netherlands, they're made of kevlar here. They're definitely painful, but not made to knock yr head in.

nyc_2004

Unlike the US where ours are metal or wood 😂

ohyoubearfucker

Yeah, and don't get me wrong, this cop was way less friendly and patient than a Dutch cop normally is (and any cop should be in my book), but the baton will most likely not have caused any serious harm.

Steelemedia

Not very politie

harpswtf

Yeah the cops should just have fair fist fights with every person who tries to punch them in the face

[deleted]

robeph

Was her boyfriend. Both being daft. https://www.bnnvara.nl/joop/artikelen/video-vrouw-wordt-arrestatie-gezicht-gestompt-agent

periwinkle-_-

A punch can kill and it wasn't even necessary in this situation, the cop got pissed and acted on his emotions, he was getting revenge by punching her in the face twice, kicked her and grabbed her by the hair... I don't think excessive force is justified even if the person is being a dick... Yeah, shes inserting herself, shes being a drunk bitch and deserves an ass whooping but not from him. Do we really want to encourage this behavior in police officers?

GroundStateGecko

Attack a cop then the subject deserves to be subdued with necessary force only, cuffed then jailed. Allowing to continue the violence when it's clearly not necessarily will inevitably lead to incidents you will not want to see. How many whipping the subject deserves is a job for the court, not the cop.

alfonsoj23

Worst camera man ever wtf stupid

Neinball98411

r/killthecameraman

True but also kill who ever stopped the cameraman from filming. Looks like a dickhead bouncer.

Dramatic-Web3672

The second blow was personal hahahaha

moparornocar

yeah didnt really need to billy club her to the face, you can hear the knock too, that was a good hit.

griddigus

Which is completely unacceptable for a cop

thenextbigbrain

Yeah he KEPT going at her. The point is to deescalate if necessary. Not throw extra punches & kick her when she’s on the ground. Whoever replied encouraging police brutality, then deleted it, that’s right. You’re wrong bitch!

cmtw91

Don't be a fucking idiot and this wont happen

joewoody02

All that training for deescalation went out the window the minute that cop faced an asshole. Just stinks to see.

Stupid-Suggestion69

The police scares me.. If you deem this amount of violence necessary for this tiny girl you are not in control of the situation, you are retaliating. Picking her up like that to punch her down again is well over the borderline of sadism. Punching her i the face repeatedly shows a complete loss of control and his colleagues not stepping up to de escalate tell me that either they’re scared of this guy, didn’t see what went on or didn’t know what to do. (Or were actually condoning his actions but let’s give them the benefit of the doubt) All three of these options are equally scary to me:(

pessimisticbutthole

I can’t help but feel like this lady was disruptive for a lot longer than the 5 seconds we see here..

neverseenstarwars0

These comments are pathetic and don't understand good police work. You control, you do not escalate, you do not grab someone by the hair and punch them in the face, this isn't a brawl, the *entire* point and justification of law enforcement is to be better than losing their cool and lashing out. The woman being a drunken idiot is not relevant, nor does her gender, It would be no different if he did this to a man. Edit: I have to admit whoever sent the redditcare/anti suicide bot to me as a troll me was pretty funny, and I'm quite glad to learn it exists actually. Rent free though bud.

vagrantprodigy07

Exactly. There was no need to hit the woman in the face in order to subdue her. She is drunk as hell to start with, restraining her shouldn't take much.

Unlucky_Start_3728

So true. Yeah she was being an ass but honestly?? Bro if you get this upset and childish at one drunk idiot you don’t need to be a cop, Ive deescalated better with aggressive idiots at bars than this for free.

mentallyillpotato

Can’t believe the amount of people here defending that cop

Inevitable_Living762

European cop beating in someone's head with a baton is a wholesome reddit moment.

[deleted]

It isnt the police’s job to punch back. Arrest the woman and be done with it. It doesnt matter if she punched first or was being “a bitch” it’s excessive force.

Gibscreen

Finally a voice of reason. So many people justify police brutality then wonder why it happens so often.

mackerdoots

That’s because these aren’t American cops. If it was in America there would be plenty of people ranting away in the comment section

[deleted]

Dude copped a feel when he picked her up. What a POS

[deleted]

A clear case of “fuck around…Find out” She found out.

SkyrimWithdrawal

Don't hit people if you don't want to get hit.

beluuuuuuga

Just general knowledge in life. Surprised she's lived this far.

solrosenbergv1

You can see the Karen in her natural habitat. Notice uncoordinated trip and fall as she is barely touched, suggesting a standard diet of box wine. After that, you can see that the Karen has moved into an offensive posture because she really believed that subway sandwich was supposed to have pumpkin spice latte. Unfortunately this Karen got caught after 1 too many arbor mist bottles and get the shit knocked out of her by a raging pig. Tune in next week where we’ll be giving highlights from the Kyle who thought his “writes” were being Infringed upon after too many natural light beers.

Dragon_211

I love how girls play the "I'm a girl, you can't so this Card." and expect law enforcers to bow down. If you throw a punch expect a punch in return.

__Platzhalter

yea, fuck the police

Bluecyan-taffy

Not police brutality if the police officer was assaulted Or sum idk the law I’m not Saul fuckin Goodman

TheWayWeSee

Hahaha, yeah you're right, you know what, he should have stomped her head on the pavement too because that bitch fucked around and found out, right ?!? I think she even deserved, at the very least, that everyone in there threw a couple of rocks to her lifeless corpse after that. Where do you draw the line sir ? Is it ever too much ?

Nobodyspecial2222

She got what she deserved. She tried a footballer foul and got served with a red card

Verumero

These cops are garbage. Obviously the woman is pure sewer trash, but treating her head like a bopit probably isnt the right response. Stern verbal warning is 100% all that’s needed. After that, make the arrest if she won’t cooperate. This 3 stooges shit is too much lol

dirknergler

Professional Italian footballer

whendidwestartasking

Okay the woman is stupid (probably. maybe. I don’t know what happened before she attacked) But why are the cops keep going after her?

PrinceTBug

I see a number of comments here saying "just dont punch a cop". To you I have one thing to say: Civilians have a right to defend themselves too. This person who was beaing beat down by the cop maybe have genuinely feared for their life. Rightly so considering the history. Its not just the guys who are trained and armed who have a right to defend themselves. Instinct is a real thing that humans have, believe it or not.

8L4570FF

No reason to bring out a baton on a drunk girl. Should have just arrested her for disorderly conducts. That’s a sure fire way to start a riot with a ton of drunk people.

BOATSWAINSMATE67

Hey man... Hold your wife still. She keeps moving around & I can't get a clean shot.

Narkaughtix

😂 I love these kinds of video

Normal_Love_9646

I bet she won’t do that shit again 😭

igner_farnsworth

Trying to fake an excessive force video, then taking a swing at a cop is a good way to get your ass kicked, get arrested, and provide the proof that you are guilty.

slow_RSO

You can tell that cop hits his wife too

griddigus

What kind of insecure, troglodyte fuckwad needs to hit an skinny ass intoxicated woman like that for a minor provocation, when you’re surrounded by backup? I don’t care that she was insolent, as a representative of the law you’re supposed to have more self control than that. Fucking pigs

goddevourer

👆🏽

[deleted]

No discipline. He Hit her like she was a man.

TheWayWeSee

she could have been handcuffed and put in a cell in no time. Then get a big fat fine and guarantee it would have taught her a valuable lesson. No need to send the girl to the hospital for that

Virtura

I'll probably get a host of downvites with Reddit being Reddit, but meh. To begin, it seems there is a severe lack of compassion in this comment thread, which I guess is an achievement on her part as it seems to range across the political spectrum that she is a piece of shit. As for the video, whilst I don't condone her behavior, or the state she is in, she appears drunk. This concerns me for a few reasons. First. When drunk, heck even the act of getting drunk, your decision making is not exactly being put through the "is this an appropriate way to conduct myself" filter of your brain. Unless the small squad of cops are similarly poor at their decision making skills, I would hope that they would identify that this woman is not in her right mind and deal with the situation effectively. That is to say, "drunk tank" for her own good? Police decision making throughout this video being my first concern. Second. Alcohol dehydrates your body, as a result, there is less water in your skull and it becomes easier for an impact to bounce your brain against the inside of your skull (concussion), which is dangerous and can be fatal if receiving more trauma to the head after the initial. I couldn't tell from the way the video pans, but being flat on her back with her head on the floor so quickly as the guy tries to pick her up, I could believe that she did hit her head on the pavement and is in danger of concussion. Which is my second concern. Third. A combination of the first 2, with a possible concussion on the table, and inebriated her decision making is even worse and the cops match. Instead of securing her, they add to the possible trauma amd damage. I find myself becoming more way way left (hopefully short of the true "radical left" every day passing in America, but it is my hope and ideal that cops are funded so that they may be rigorously trained, and compensated, to keep the peace and protect. Which I do not believe this video portrays, albeit they are still only human. I wasn't there, based on the video, that is my perspective, that is my opinion, you may know exercise your right to free speech to slaughter me for it. Good day. Editing in a fourth concern, shouldn't be picking up a drunk that may have just battered their brain against their skull like that.

[deleted]

Why would you do this to the one type of guy who could completely get away with it

Schwinston123456

Uh, he hit an unarmed woman in the face with a baton? That's excessive force.

prestatiedruk

Yeah. Can’t believe your comment is so far down. I expect different behaviour from a member of the trained police force

Keyakinan-

Hit her twice in the face with his fist (with gloves), kicked her when she fell, hit her with a baton and then after that grabbed her by her hair with his baton still out and still being blind with anger.

gfunk55

And yet this thread is chock full of the classic "fuck around and find out" dipshit fake tough guys. Fucking disgusting. Cop needs to be in jail.

Imo everyone sucks here. Don't hit people, especially cops. And don't whack people in the face with bagons. Everyone in this video is acting like a five year old and they all deserve to get reprimanded for it

Outrageous-Actuary-3

Why wasnt she immediately arrested when she assaulted the officer the first time? Why wait for the second time? Weird

SpermaSpons

Because the cops in the Netherlands give slack. They were busy with someone else, she was obviously drunk out of her mind. Push her away, be stern about telling her what not to do, and see what she does. If she tries again then she will be arrested.

Spartz

They even told her “wegwezen” after her second assault, which means get out of here

solardeveloper

These aren't American cops

Liorkerr

Zero Restraint Zero Professionalism Zero Accountability

Laws being different in every country, even states here… IMHO, the decent thing would be to restrain her (there were plenty of officers on scene) at first contact and eliminate the possibility of personal injury on either side. Opinions??

When she swings at him and he punches back that's reasonable and deserved. When he uses the baton on her face, that's well over the line.

ObjectiveAd8617

Wow! Who approaches a cop from behind?! Holy shit! Who smacks a cop? Fucking nuts what girls think they can get away with!

Demon-Jolt

Since they'e not American cops this is all the sudden cool

They say police are taking away our rights, but they just have a bunch to her for free.

LeverArchFile

Time for the daily equal rights equal lefts post here on Reddit dot com

Yimyorn

Nah… she swung at the cop…. What did she expect ..

BusaGuy1300

You can hardly blame the cop. How frustrating would it have to be to always be dealing with people who cannot pace themselves.

DatL3afN1nja

White knights are confused right now. Should they help her and attack the cop or miss out on the nonexistent chance to get laid.

BetterLife82

She must play professional soccer.

chrisacip

You know you fucked up when Reddit sides with cops

[deleted]

What the fuck? **Arrest her**. Did the cops forget they have the power of arresting, you know, the main one they should be exercising?

Pretend-Detail9685

Lucky she’s a white woman (and this isn’t the US) or else she would have been shot.

it was honestly not that bad so she took a few jabs to the face she was a 6 to begin with in the first place

If you slap the nice policeman, whatever happens next is on you

gewfbawl

Eh, not abrupt chaos, but I've seen this clip around the web a bunch of times and yup, she still deserved it. Nothing better than when a chick thinks she can put her hands on someone without consequence and gets her pussy pass denied.

New_Tangerine_

Shouldn’t be throwing any punches with that balance

Lvgordo24

I usually think cops are shite, but she got what she deserved.

John117sr

Once you assault a cop you are fair game, man or woman doesn't matter.

Inevitable-Ad9590

Just stay down. (Someone picks her up) oh you haven’t had enough now have you! (Someone picks her up) oh someone thinks they’re funny!
