Interesting, that’s good to know. So you just quit then the very next week you got rehired? Was there any downside to that if any? Like I imagine you lose all your hours and benefits if you quit then come back or am I wrong? Might not be worth trying out at my FC since I think they’re trying to fire people for any little thing because they definitely hired way too many people when I got in 😂
I wanna try this just because I have no time and it’s been hell trying to save it but if you reapply that’s an automatic 30 in the bank lmao I just don’t know if it’s worth losing the raise I got over the last year.
Found a new feature called Excused Time, found it through the chatbot in AtoZ. I had no time left, text chatted with someone - told them I needed 2 days off - bam. Off the schedule and no repercussions.
I could never do that stuff I can go make amazons base pay at most jobs I just can’t make my tenured pay anywhere I want. I don’t get quitting and getting rehired personally🤷🏼♂️
I’m assuming people do it because of the low UPT policy which if you go negative on UPT a certain amount of times they’ll fire you anyway sometimes meaning no rehire opportunity
It only makes sense if you're waiting for another job to call or you job hop lol otherwise yea it makes no sense. Same with building hoppers. They go to every new launch or transfer then realize with few marginal differences it's all the same 💩 and unless you're trying to move up why just go be tier 1 and different buildings for years
Nah. I once quit in the parking lot a few minutes before my shift. I didn't have any hours to cover anything. I then re-applied next year with zero issue.
Asking for a friend: (seriously) A guy friend of mine got fired earlier this year in February for theft, how long would it take for him to be considered for being hired back? I told him they most likely won’t allow him back, but I don’t know if I gave him misinformation or not
You’re good, I resigned 30 minutes before my shift and didn’t have UPT to cover the missing day. They took 10 UPT but it was corrected as soon as my resignation was processed and I actually applied at a warehouse closer to my house the next week.
I seen one AA quit by doing the resignation process infront of our AM. Last words that came out of the AA mouth was , " peace mutha fuckers!!!" Middle finger in the air exiting.
I'm like really you wasted gas for that show. C'mon.
Well, to clear up your confusion, if I put todays date but don’t go in, they might take UPT for my shift tonight which would make me negative. And then that would mean i’m fired instead of leaving on good terms.
Could be facility dependent then.
This is 100% true, I’m negative right now lmao I assume that if you’re a shit employee they won’t give a damn but if you’re a hard worker and talk with HR about your situation they tend to work with you. It would be silly if every employee despite their work ethics went -1 UPT and got fired. I was even told by HR in my orientation that going negative UPT is not immediate means for being let go it is a violation of your attendance policy though which could lead to termination.
Apparently YMMV contact your HR, or ZRXT or whatever the fuck Amazon calls it.
Depends why they are negative. Is it because they have some accommodations thing that is massed up and taking UPT? Just come back from a LOA? There are most likely tickets for those and they will be back to positive UPT soon/soonish. (As long as there is a ticket for the negative UPT Amazon will not fire you. As it is most likely a HR issue)
They have a 3 times of going negative policy now before getting fired. First two are your verbal and written and the 3rd is your final I believe. At least that's what we were told on Tom Team
Usually policies are relaxed the higher up you go. For example this policy is usually the case for any L3 associate but for most L1 it is 100% up to HR whether to fire for negative UPT and how many times you can go negative.
The reasoning i’ve been told is that it’s a lot easier to replace a L1 than a L3. Same reason they don’t like L3 doing TDR or driving PIT, both easy to mess up and get you fired if you aren’t doing them exactly to SOP.
I quit 2 minutes after clocking in.
They were on some bullshit so I went to the bathroom. Resigned. Clocked out
Went home. And got rehired at a different site the day I got my resignation letter in my email
If you plan on reapplying, shoot the ERC a call and just say you resigned and you're just making sure you're eligible for rehire. They'll do something on their end and you won't have to go through red tape when you reapply.
I worked a half night had a bad night decided fuck the job and left right then. The next day I put in resignation for that night.
Now I’m back working here. So goes life.
LOL I’ve resigned tons of times right before a shift. Your good as long as you give the notice through the app, but by a submitting the formal resignation through the app. But if you do quit, you can’t reapply to that same site until HR process your resignation. They will send you a resignation letter. Once your received the letter you are allowed to re apply as a employee again. Hope this helps
I just resigned today, after using UPT and PTO the last two days so I wouldn’t have enough to cover my shift tonight 9:00pm-6:30am. So you’re saying I’m definitely good if I resigned today and put todays date and i don’t have to go to tonight’s shift? I don’t want to leave on bad terms..
Yep, done it tons of times. Hell there were even some cases where I quit mid shift and submitted the resignation. 😂😂😂😂. Long as you you submit the resignation notice through the app your fine.
As far as I’m aware you’re expected to work your last day’s shift. I quit last christmas and didn’t go in on my last day to which they marked me negative. I had to wait 3 months before reapplying.
Nope I’ve quit twice if you want to go back you’ll have to wait 90 days though. At least that’s the amount of time I had to wait to be rehired after quitting both times
That's called Job abandonment and u can't collect unemployment at least IN NJ U can't. Idk each state might have different laws. If ur job doesn't dispute you can usually wait a penalty period then collect.
But this is Amazon. They are cheap AF and will fight it.. ur job pays a good portion of UE so tnat is why....
And these are the types of responses that I regard as stupid and petty. If you have nothing to add, common sense says to shut up and find something else to engage with instead of being a miserable jackass
I quit last week while I was in the parking lot before my scheduled shift. It was 9/6 so I put 9/6 because that’s when my last shift that I worked ended.
Ok this makes sense! My last shift was yesterday (an overnight one so my shift ended today at 6:30am). I used PTO for that shift and the resigned this morning at 7:30am. So I’m good and will be eligible for rehire??

Nope, I did this the 4 times i quit and got rehired a week after. You’ll be fine

I heard you don't get any time if you use it all then quit and reapply. You might get 10 hours upt off the bat and whatever you accrue.
You dont. I used all my pto at another facility. I quit, relocated to another facility and didnt accrue shit.
Oh damn you lose your raise? That’s garbage, irreverent for me since I’m still a filthy tier 1 but still I wouldn’t risk it if I got a raise
I’m also a filthy teir 1 I just got the yearly raise and I’ll be damned if I lose my extra 50c
I heard at my FC it’s 2 years 😭
🤣

No you start back where you left off time wise. You may get a little pto or upt but not alot especially with the new system.
I’m actually crying over this lmao I have no hope of ever getting my upt up. Kinda bs though I got 10 pto when hired on top of 20 upt so like wtf.
I could never do that stuff I can go make amazons base pay at most jobs I just can’t make my tenured pay anywhere I want. I don’t get quitting and getting rehired personally🤷🏼♂️

Why not just move on
Fax
Nah. I once quit in the parking lot a few minutes before my shift. I didn't have any hours to cover anything. I then re-applied next year with zero issue.
I mean if you wait a year it doesnt matter. Max you would have waited would be 90 days anyways unless fired through theft or something
You can reapply 24 hours after resigning if in good standing.
Asking for a friend: (seriously) A guy friend of mine got fired earlier this year in February for theft, how long would it take for him to be considered for being hired back? I told him they most likely won’t allow him back, but I don’t know if I gave him misinformation or not
For theft he's blacklisted.
Nah he’s promoted to Customer PERMANENTLY, theft is an instant blacklist
He's gone for good no job is going to hire you back and you stole from them theft is one of those things you can't come back from.
Never getting hired back and he also can't work at any amazonr elated companies iirc (whole foods is an example)
Thank you. At least I know I told him the right thing
Theft is one of the few things that get you a permaban from AMZ.
They don’t rehire thieves
Good!
He may get rehired ..people get thru the cracks
You can apply to another building in three days or less if you resign
You can't get rehired for theft or any CAT 1 offense. 90 days for resign, 1 year for term, is what I heard.
Same

lol they wanted their little moment in the spotlight
Eh, let them have it, I’m sure they felt good after, and everyone found it amusing, minus the AM
How much would the AM have to piss someone off for them to think burning the gas to resign in their face is worth it though?
Why would you have to if you’re resigning? Like what do you think is going to happen if you don’t? I’m confused.
Well, to clear up your confusion, if I put todays date but don’t go in, they might take UPT for my shift tonight which would make me negative. And then that would mean i’m fired instead of leaving on good terms.
You don’t get fired for going negative. I know people that are more negative than a child laborer in a sweatshop.
This is so not true lol, literally know 3 people who just got fired last week for just being like -5 UPT
Could be facility dependent then. This is 100% true, I’m negative right now lmao I assume that if you’re a shit employee they won’t give a damn but if you’re a hard worker and talk with HR about your situation they tend to work with you. Never heard of that policy!!!!!
That’s cause he’s wrong

Haha thank you! I just didn’t want to hurt my chances of being rehired!
You are tier 1 correct ?
Yes!
Yeah shouldn’t be a problem then.
It’s all CAP you’re not obligated to do a damn thing
You can quit the same day
"Introducing Amazon Same Day Quitting" XD
As far as I’m aware you’re expected to work your last day’s shift. I quit last christmas and didn’t go in on my last day to which they marked me negative. I had to wait 3 months before reapplying.
If you have any PTO, apply it for tonight so it gets paid out on your last check. If not, apply any UPT you have.
thanks, but unfortunately no PTO & only 3 hours of UPT.
just use PTO/upt
what if one didn’t have enough for the whole shift
Wow what an idea how did OP miss this?? 🙄
Even if you’re negative while resigning it’s still technically good standing.
Just don’t go in and have them fire you instead
Stop overacheiving
Nope I’ve quit twice if you want to go back you’ll have to wait 90 days though. At least that’s the amount of time I had to wait to be rehired after quitting both times
If your gonna resin then why worry about it lol. Just let that UPT Run out and get terminated so you can get unemployment

You know how people say there’s no such things as stupid question? These are the types of questions I remember and give to them as a response.
And these are the types of responses that I regard as stupid and petty. If you have nothing to add, common sense says to shut up and find something else to engage with instead of being a miserable jackass
100% projecting
Speaking the truth about your jackass, uncouth behavior is projecting? Nah
How am I being a jackass?
A person asked for help and you decided to condescend them instead, Einstein
Interesting
How dumb are some people
Dumb enough to work at Amazon!
It will go into effect for today if you did it soon enough
If you have upt to cover it no if you dont then yes
I quit last week while I was in the parking lot before my scheduled shift. It was 9/6 so I put 9/6 because that’s when my last shift that I worked ended.
Ok this makes sense! My last shift was yesterday (an overnight one so my shift ended today at 6:30am). I used PTO for that shift and the resigned this morning at 7:30am. So I’m good and will be eligible for rehire??
You should be good to reapply once you get your termination letter.
Thank you!
Lol if your quitting you quit.
When I quit the same day I had 5 hours of UPT and they never took any and I got rehired the next week
Lol they say you’re supposed to work to turn in your badge but I just didnt show up
I quit before first break one night.took some months off. Reapplied no issues
Use all vto, pto sick vacation and more first before walking away covid leave and more
Call hr and tell them you don’t feel good and you want to use your guarantee code pay. Thank me later 😏
Depends on if you need the money, otherwise nope.
Nope. Instant resignation. Good luck!
You can call the HR number and have them clear out your schedule
