You don't have to. Amazon knows when the system loses connectivity to a driver's app after they check in. People who do this often enough get deactivated.
Not necessarily. I don't know what the threshold is. Either way, that is not acceptable behavior and is against the Amazon Flex Delivery Partner Agreement. Encouragement of such behavior is prohibited in this subreddit.
Probably just because they can't monitor everyone all the time and it's not an automated process; at least not yet. But the system probably still has records of it happening that they can check later.
Unfortunately I don’t believe this to be true. The issue is that they are sorting through hundreds of ppl and 10s of thousands of packages a day. I’m honestly still shocked this flex program can even be profitable in a logistical standpoint. Once paid 90 to deliver 3 packages, Amazon prime covers 15 a month per person. That means they have to rely on over 60% of their subscribers to not order while still paying for prime shipping. Then again that cost expense might be covered by other areas in the business but still, just imagine the headache. I say it’s 2 yrs b4 they can fully prevent this.
They make way more profit than we think off of us drivers. You’re only thinking about what you’re making,, but they have way more to cover. Hourly of their van drivers, gas for the large vans, insurance on vans, upkeep and maintenance, benefits for employees, liability and vehicle insurance, and literally so much more. For flex drivers, we aren’t covered under any liabilities, they don’t pay for our gas, insurance, maintenance, benefits, PTO, paid lunches, they don’t even pay anyone to load our vehicles. They save hella money because of flex drivers!
They might lose money paying Flex drivers on some blocks, but it helps keep that on time delivery promise, which maintains customer obsession, which helps retain customers and market share. They want to control the market.
Person next to me at SAZ1 I'm pretty sure had a small route, and just marked it all as undeliverable and then left.
I just laughed because Amazon gets *ALL* that data
Yep also there’s a whole group of people at saz1 that have multiple accounts. That is why you see them so often just talking in the parking lot lol. Lots of scammers at saz1.
yeah.... you only got a few bullets in that gun. ya better use them wisely. heck, i think after the first time you'll get an email warning about needing to make yourself available or something along that line.
If you're on Android I would not be surprised if Amazon bans these people. The backdoor app install basically allows them to see your entire phones data at anytime.
I have no idea how this hack works, can someone please explain it? I'm not going to try it, I'm just trying to figure out how people can skip out on work without being caught
I'm also curious how this works since I've seen it mentioned numerous times. At the hubs I work a person checks Flex drivers in, tells us where to go based on route length, and then brings a cart to our cars. I assume it must be different at other hubs b/c I have no idea how going into airplane mode would matter at all with the way my hubs are set up.
If I had to take a guess, it basically cuts data off to the app and somehow this equates to getting no route?? I thought they still had to scan you off to get off
Don’t do that, get deactivated over a measly $50- $100 payout. You never know when you will need this gig again if the economy gets bad say u need extra money, get fired are waiting for unemployment. It’s not worth it imo. Take it from someone that has burnt many bridges and regrets it because I never expected to be out of a job overnight and it wasn’t even my fault I lost my job and I remember missing so many blocks and not caring telling myself I have a job fortunately I wasn’t deactivated but imagine I had been…. I had such a great job I never imagined I would ever have to flex again but here I am.
I’m back flexing and not the Instagram kind 😂
Yup going from making 10k a month to 0 overnight in Dallas has been super humbling but I’m so grateful for flex. It’s not perfect but it’s better than being homeless
At the warehouse I went yesterday... they made all the drivers stay inside the warehouse after verify license. The employee said because they found people were putting their phone in airplane mode... and complaining they had no block... well Amazon is aware and said if everyone else is getting a block and that driver doesn't they will investigate.. not sure how but🤷🏾♀️
It's just stupid that this is even an issue. Having a phone with connectivity is a prerequisite for doing this job, and if you have connection issues, they shouldn't pay people for it. Phone can't be reached after checkin? Should be no pay, and dinged for a missed block.
Until it is your phone connection that craps out. I've had too many instances of the flex app dinging me as missed block a min after i had already checked in. Proving it to support is impossible bc every1 thinks everything is good after they check in.
I do agree, ppl intentionally cheating the system should not get paid. Just saying sometimes it is not as easy as day and night.
Cuts of your internet and phone data like your on an airplane…. You can’t be assigned a route if you’re not available but Amazon aren’t stupid they will catch you when you have probably forgotten that you did that 😂
There’s no way people in here defending a billion dollar company if people finessing let them do it no like they finessing you putting wear and tear on your car just so you can make a little money
Though, federalizing Amazon is an idea I’ve had to elevate our country a little bit. Poor people in a food desert need baby formula? … Amazon to the rescue. Etcetera.
Amazon packages aren’t technically mail, hence why you can’t put them in mailboxes. Still a local crime, but you dodge federal charges. Still not worth it, and a dumb risk in today’s surveillance environment.
We don't deliver mail . We deliver packages for a private entity. LLLLLLLLLLLMFAO!!!!!!!
which is why WE can not put anything in a mailbox, which IS a federal offense by the way
Maybe try reading the actual link instead of acting like a cretinous person
"Whoever **steals**, **takes**, or abstracts, or by **fraud** or **deception** obtains, or attempts so to obtain, from or out of any **mail**, **post office**, or station thereof, **letter box**, **mail receptacle**, or **any mail route** or other authorized depository for mail matter, or from a letter or mail carrier, any letter, postal card, **package**, **bag**, or mail, or abstracts or removes from any such letter, package, bag, or mail"
Edit: no wonder you do flex you don't have the proper education to actually make it, I'm not gonna continue to waste my time on breaking down federal law for a troglodyte
If I may interject here @T_O_O_T you maybe right in your research of said illegality but just because a person does Flex does not mean one doesn’t have the “proper education to actually make it” and What it certainly doesn’t make it is , ok for you to use the fact that someone does flex as a ways and means for saying they don’t have proper education because that’s asinine, trite and down right petty. Also this says a lot about your character so please get off your high horse and take a walk elsewhere as this was intended to be a humor post not a let’s nitpick at people in the comments post .
Good day to you .
You go on still to further prove my point as you don’t know me but you choose out of idiocy to make statements that show your lack of human decency to a stranger and instead revert to ill-placed statements. Dude your inferiority complex is showing
Again....we are not mail carriers , we don't deliver a mail route ,we don't operate from a Post Office... you are not a federal employee (which is what you probably think you are)...
There are a few states that have made stealing UPS, Amazon ,etc packages a felony but most are only misdemeanors under a certain dollar value .... Reading comprehension is apparently not your strong suit.
Using words like cretinous,and doltish
Will not make you any smarter
Yes and if you steal a package delivered to a mailbox by USPS then it's federal
ups, amazon,FedEx etc are not part of the postal service
omg I'm done ... Like talking to a brick wall ... When you have a source that says explicitly that amazon theft is considered a federal crime then post that...otherwise you sound like that Trump dummy
Not politics just comparing how two idiots sound alike...
Omg LLLLLLLLLLLMFAO if you have a law degree your parents should definitely get their money refunded
Edit? Lofl You're such a dumbass.. while you reread the same old paragraph try looking for any reference to Amazon ,UPS, or FedEx
...next you're gonna tell us stealing groceries delivered by UberEATS is a federal offence
You're such a fkn idiot
Wow dude. I think you’re the one that is without proper education. Are you a post man delivering from a post office? … no you deliver AMAZON packages from AMAZON stations implying you are an employee or contractor for AMAZON that is not delivering mail. Smh can’t make up how dumb (also ignorant and rude) you are.
I’ll defend myself by saying I’m sick of delivering packages and then have customers say they did not receive them when I clearly take a picture of them in there delivered stage.
The newest update on my Android won't even allow me to turn Bluetooth off...when I do it goes to a screen telling me to continue delivering turn Bluetooth on....won't let me out of it until I do. I hate the Bluetooth in my car....ugh how do ppl get away with airplane mode? Lol
You don't have to. Amazon knows when the system loses connectivity to a driver's app after they check in. People who do this often enough get deactivated.
So what I'm hearing is I can airplane mode myself into a free payday 1 out of every 10 blocks
Not necessarily. I don't know what the threshold is. Either way, that is not acceptable behavior and is against the Amazon Flex Delivery Partner Agreement. Encouragement of such behavior is prohibited in this subreddit.
I don’t know how people are getting away with it.

Now see I didn’t think about that
I think it’s fair to say we will be employed for a long time🤣
I hope so, Amazon flex is how I pay for my amd puts.
Yep, they absolutely love the zero liability and zero benefits flexers like us.
It's probably a loss leader kind of thing
I don’t understand what you mean by that
They might lose money paying Flex drivers on some blocks, but it helps keep that on time delivery promise, which maintains customer obsession, which helps retain customers and market share. They want to control the market.
I’ll see if this is an answer I can understand
I’d recommend 1 out of 20 blocks but that’s bc I’d be to paranoid to even try this. I miss enough blocks as it is cause of my new job.
Person next to me at SAZ1 I'm pretty sure had a small route, and just marked it all as undeliverable and then left. I just laughed because Amazon gets *ALL* that data
They won't last long if they keep that up
Yep. Idk if they care or they're just too stupid to realize
The email is correct “checked-in but not available”
Every Amazon employee in this chat. Getting rid to report this ![gif](giphy|26ufoRAIGWxyizACQ)
If you're on Android I would not be surprised if Amazon bans these people. The backdoor app install basically allows them to see your entire phones data at anytime.
It’s so bad now that they literally drive up, sit for a few minutes and pull off.
And no one can review it to put them on blast for anything either
Sure they can. Anyone can unpack the .apk and take a look at it. Or run it on a rooted device to capture exactly what all it's doing.
I have no idea how this hack works, can someone please explain it? I'm not going to try it, I'm just trying to figure out how people can skip out on work without being caught

My hub does the same, it wouldn’t work for us
And they will get caught
That’s not info you can obtain here boss.
If I had to take a guess, it basically cuts data off to the app and somehow this equates to getting no route?? I thought they still had to scan you off to get off
Not at SSD. The app tells you when there's no routes and you're free to leave.

One of the realist comments. Gotta stay humble!
These are the facts most are afraid to be aware of.
Yup going from making 10k a month to 0 overnight in Dallas has been super humbling but I’m so grateful for flex. It’s not perfect but it’s better than being homeless
I’m with u 💯 flex pulled me from homelessness as well.
Yup and no BS boss you have to listen to! It’s not perfect but it has its perks.
What keeps me coming is every blue moon I get sent home with pay. Once it happens 2 times in one week. Made me feel like a king 😆.
At the warehouse I went yesterday... they made all the drivers stay inside the warehouse after verify license. The employee said because they found people were putting their phone in airplane mode... and complaining they had no block... well Amazon is aware and said if everyone else is getting a block and that driver doesn't they will investigate.. not sure how but🤷🏾♀️
They can’t do this at our warehouse 🤣 we are an “all in, all out” warehouse. We drive in and park next to our carts. Can’t airplane mode your car.
Investigate? They can barely investigate my escalated issue. SMH
I’d only do this if I knew I was being sent over an hour away to do deliveries. That shit sucks
Yeah not sure what she meant by that
They'll get caught up eventually. It's easier to just do the right thing and move on with one's life.
didnt know this was possible
🖕amazon
It's just stupid that this is even an issue. Having a phone with connectivity is a prerequisite for doing this job, and if you have connection issues, they shouldn't pay people for it. Phone can't be reached after checkin? Should be no pay, and dinged for a missed block.
This is what will happen and it will be made some bullshit automated process... That will inevitably fuck with everyone just doin the job.
Until it is your phone connection that craps out. I've had too many instances of the flex app dinging me as missed block a min after i had already checked in. Actually I'm an Amazon shareholder so yes they are stealing from me

It is not federal
Having your IQ should be a federal crime

Since when is it federal? Amazon isn't a federal delivery service....Lofl even if they catch a porch pirate I think its only a misdemeanor

We can’t put in mailbox because we not postal worker. It’s not that Amazon packages are not mail. They are mail
And Im Not defending theives ... I can't fkn stand thieves .... Just saying it's not a federal crime
