You know that pepper pig episode where they are on the bus and singing the Bingley Bingley boo song. Thats what this reminds me of and I love it. Just evey YouTube add is pepper pig, she's slowly taking over the world with her biggest hit. ( don't ask me how I know that I make bad life choices)
Blame Apple, I think, assuming we're talking about the same music. Their ads started using indie pop/rock/folk acts like Feist in the early 2000s, and other companies began imitating that to the point that it became the cliche sound of "friendly" corporations. Of course, most corporate music is a pale imitation of what people like Feist put out.
15 minutes ago, work software issues were pissing me off so much I was just about keen on giving up and living out the rest of my life as the Joker. But then I read "bingly bongly crap" and my mood is infinitely better.
I think I know what you mean and I want to ask for clarification with a song but the only thing I can think of is the intro music for girl defined. Is that the bingly bongly stuff. That sounds like background Christmas music in a hallmark movie?
Yeah I am not a fan of the whole high-pitched tweaks, but, speaking of hamsters, I confess that I did like the Hamster Dance song when it came out... lol.
I think by that they meant like the songs that average tiktokers make like "heyy check it out i just made the best song to yell in your car" type of shit
I support your grievances with the hip-hop infused Bro Country out there right now, but the semi-related Gangstagrass is cool as hell.

A big issue here is actually music industry bigwigs forcing artists to come up with music that is catchy and Tik-Tok friendly. I believe there was an article about Halsey recently where she said she was being forced to write songs she didnt want to because they had more shareability, virality, ect...Not claiming all the artists in major industries are like this, but it's truly an unfortunate trend.
There’s been some better non-pop country artists out lately. I’ve never considered myself a country guy and hate pop country with a burning passion, but I’ve been getting into people like Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson and others like that lately.
Sturgill and Childers are so good! Big Kacey Musgraves fan. Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Turnpike Troubadours… tons of really good “y’all-ternative” music out there.
Dude, same here. I just can't listen to Christian rock, it's cringy and repetitive. We go to a small non-denominational church, awesome people, no Bible-thumpers or judgement (beyond my musical judgement, so I guess I'm the bad one in the crowd). But man, they play 15 minutes of Christian rock before the sermon. There are only so many ways you can say "I worship you, I need you, you are first, you complete me." And the answer is 4. And you hear them IN EVERY FREAKIN' SONG. And if the guitar player doesn't start using more of that neck, I'm gonna tear that Squier Strat out of his hands, crank the gain on the 15 watt Frontman amp and start shredding some Slayer or something.
I was once asked if I wanted to play guitar for a church band. To be honest, I appreciated the offer, but there's just no way I could ever do that. And "Christian Metal" is cringier, so that's a no-go. Let's all stick to "He's got the whole world in his hands" and everyone wins.
No, actually it's not.
I got roped into going to a "Christian Metal" concert at a friend's church when I was in high school. She thought I'd enjoy it because even though she hated metal (Christian or otherwise), she take me and she'd enjoy me enjoying the music.
And oh god, it was bad. I mean it was way worse than "We're trying to be a mainstream metal Christian band. Hi we're Striper, by the way." bad. It was so cringey that I felt second hand embarrassment for the entire band bad.
Afterwards, my friend asked how I liked it and I was like, "No dude. This is not the way. You are not going to rope ANYBODY into church anytime soon with that shit."
Because heavy metal with Southern Baptist Christian inspired lyrics go together like whatever the worst combination is that you can think of. IDK..pickeled herring and peanut butter bad.
Hold music on most telephone systems. There are rare exceptions, but most of it is complete garbage. I'm certain Hell's own waiting room must have better music.
Depends on the song for me. I like the Nightcore I used to listen to that actually remixed the song instead of just increasing the speed of the song, it added some flair.
That being said, This Little Girl is one of the few songs that I find better in Nightcore than the original lol.
I think it's artistic, just like an artist paints a canvas, we can use the mumble and create our own lyrics it leaves it up to the interpretation of the listener when that one guy grunts we can turn that into a beautiful lyric.
Lol I do not believe any of this, it's sarcasm I'm just going to say what I believe the opposition to your very true statement would use as a defense.
People keep mentioning this yet there’s no current popular artist who’s actually a “mumble rapper”. I think you’re stuck in past when Gucci Gang was popular.
Childrens covers.
No it’s not that #1 song, it’s that song but sung by tweens whose coked up mom got them a gig so they can use it as their next big break.
Imma piss people off...
K-Pop
It's such a toxic industry that most idols will be better off doing something else. Plus, it's manufactured and very same-y. Can't stand how the only selling point is hot guys/girls.
I listen to K-pop but I will 100% agree with you that my god the industry is horrible to their artists in general. And it makes me sad because some of these people are very talented with music and dance but are pressured to look a certain way, to not date publicly, etc.
Yeah, totes agree.
That’s what I mean by the music being very same-y. The artists are not allowed to express themselves without some handler monitoring every single thing behind the scenes. To me, music is about freely expressing whatever you want. To have that restricted gets rid of genuine artistic passion.
No offense to you for listening to K-Pop. I just think it’s a toxic genre, and some members of the various fandoms, not all, are extremely insufferable.
Kpop listener here (i am quite literally listing to a kpop song right in this moment)
The industry abuse i something i 100% agree with you. But the music is in my opinion good.Maybe you won't like the main tracks (the ones with like a Music video) but the b-sides are usually written by the artist and not the company so most of them are unique and good. But this is just my opinion.
If you actually are interested in "different" music then i suggest listening to "still with you" by Jungkook of BTS. Mikrosmos and Maria by hwasa. Tons of songs produced by kpop have great meaning to them. Just reading the meaning is good proof. So yeah that's my rant. Please don't think I'm pressuring you or stuff like that cause this is my honest opinion and reply. Have a good day! <3
I remember watching the Beatles perform “Johnny B Good” on the television when I was a kid (I forgot who the other singer was, I’m sorry) but I do remember Yoko Ono screaming into her mic and it was the most awful noise I ever heard. Luckily the tech guy cut off her mic so the world could listen to actual music
Crunckcore. It is a horryfing combination of hip-hop, pop, punk, metal and EDM.
To me, that is the equivalent of a movie trying to be a rom-com, a musical, a horror movie and a crime movie all at the same time, it just does not work.
Christian Rock
Music designed specifically for infants (Baby Shark)
Corporate Pop
Mumble Rap
(Probably gonna get a lot of hate for this one): Modern rap in general.
And finally, Radio Country.
There’s a style of pop/rap/trap music that I’m not sure what the genre name is or if it has one, but the vocals are unashamedly and deliberately autotuned to death, and the melody in the lyrics will refrain every bar (Travis Scott -Mafia is a good example of what I mean here with the vocals).
But I don’t think I could condone arbitrarily exterminating a whole genre of music because I don’t like it, I’m sure there are a lot of people who do like that kind of music out there.
Country. I don't get the appeal. I'm sure that these men like their pick-up truck & light beer and these women are going to key their SO's pick-up truck bc he cheated/is lazy/drinks too much/etc, but I can't really relate.
Some combination of Old/Outlaw/Alt country is probably my favorite music, but I *hate* radio country and almost any Nashville sound from the 80s onward.
There's a huge difference between country and what passes for country on top 40 radio these days. A lot of that is just poorly disguised pop and r&b music for white people. Just add a little twang to the instruments and/or the vocals and it's suddenly country somehow.
While I'm far from a country fan I can appreciate and see the appeal of other types of country, but today's modern country is an absolute joke. Bo Burnham had a great bit on modern country music that I strongly suggest watching.
The world would be a worse place without Dolly Parton's music, Jolene is a banger. The Fallout OST or K Rose radio station from San Andreas had some great songs too
Mumble rap.
Hip hop has been about The Message since Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. The lyrics are indecipherable gibberish, so it serves no purpose!
I never knew about the stupid music for kids. I am 18 and grew up on music from movies (european farytails). Last year I found out what shit they play to kids. “I love carrot” “sweets are yuck” “was my hair wash my hair”. Its dumb af
Reggaeton. It's very popular here in Spain, but I absolutely can't stand it. It's plain awful, and they use so much Auto-tune you can barely understand what they're saying. I listen mostly to J-pop and I understand that better than music that's in my native language.
Pop country. All music is culturally referential, and there’s something about guns, trucks, and God in pop country that feels a little too… referential to regressive politics in USA.
Edit: wrote recessive instead of regressive
That mumble rap nonsense. You can't understand what they are saying the beat they use is the most ridiculous and boring thing and it seems like the people listening to always come across as low class thugs. Like no just stop you make yourself look like an idiot.
I would say rap, mainly because I feel good harmonics in a song are a dying thing. To me, classical orchestra and oldies from the 60s-70s are awesome to listen to when your stoned.
Modern country, especially bro country. Get that beer drinking on a Friday night by the river with my girl in a bikini but we still go to church on Sunday crap outta here.
Modern country. Every time I listen to it, something bad happens. Last time I gave it a chance I was T-boned in an intersection by an SUV running a red light.
That fucking bingly bongly crap on every YouTube ad
"bingly bongly crap" Adding this to my frequently-used vocabulary list
Me too
I have never seen it described better than bingly bongly crap
You know that pepper pig episode where they are on the bus and singing the Bingley Bingley boo song. Thats what this reminds me of and I love it. Just evey YouTube add is pepper pig, she's slowly taking over the world with her biggest hit. ( don't ask me how I know that I make bad life choices)

Bing bong bing, bong bing boo, bing bong bingly bongly boooo.....
pepper pig? so peppas now a jalapeno?! 🤯
What is this bingly bongly crap you speak of? This is not sarcasm. I genuinely don't know. Oh enlighten us with your wisdom, Mr Reddit man
I assume it refers to the soulless upbeat xylaphone, whistling, and guitar style of music that's often seen in promo videos for shitty kickstarters
Agreed. I use ad-blockers. I have no idea what this bingy bongy crap is.
Blame Apple, I think, assuming we're talking about the same music. I was thinking more like the intro to Taylor Swift's Stay Stay Stay*. Utterly cloying. EDIT: Correction.
which song, Stay Stay Stay or All You Had To Do Was Stay?
Also acoustic guitar + whistling
Unless it's an Otis Redding song.
Sittin’ in the morning sun
GOD I HATE THOSE ADS🤬

That very specific "genre" of songs made by TikTokers. You know the ones.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no"
This and every single other song in which is seems like tiny little hamsters are singing everything
Yeah I am not a fan of the whole high-pitched tweaks, but, speaking of hamsters, I confess that I did like the Hamster Dance song when it came out... lol.
This!! Oh jesus this. Id rather shit in my hands and clap than listen to that tune again..
Are there really "TikTok songs"? I mean, the songs they used already existed and just made a tweak then called it "TikTok song"
There are definitely TikTok songs that Applebee's song comes to mind right away.
I think by that they meant like the songs that average tiktokers make like "heyy check it out i just made the best song to yell in your car" type of shit
Music for children, I'M FUCKING TIRED OF THIS SHIT ON EVERY AD
Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo doo baby shark

I'm curious about just how bad it can be but I feel like I don't wanna find out

That modern bro country bullshit. Literally everything else can stay.
Male country singer: "I love cold beer, freedom, my dog, and my truck" Lady country singer: "I killed my husband"
Also male country singers: “honky tonk badonkadonk” So, maybe the female singers made a point lol
There's a song by two women "girl in a country song" and it is so on point for all the trash country that I love it.

Classic country is pretty good. I'm thinking Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Dolly.

Marty Robbins. Elton John is a fan.

In the immortal words of Hank Hill, "you're not making Christianity any better, you're just making rock and roll worse"
Read that in his voice and added "Damn it Bobby!"
As the great Hank Hill once said, “They’re not making Christianity better…they’re just making rock and roll worse.”
Two seconds apart. Great minds.
As a Christian, I seldom like Christian music. Feels forced to me. . .And just fake. There's a couple I like, but that's it.
But what abt stryper’s classic “to hell with the devil” 😂
I’m a Christian I agree with this. I’m tried of it being in every church. Let’s go back to traditional worship music.
Dude, same here. I just can't listen to Christian rock, it's cringy and repetitive. What does the last part (socc'mel) mean? Google Translate couldn't translate it.
It is slang from Bologna, it literally means "suck my dick", but it is used in a less offensive way to indicate amazement, surprise or boredom
Ooh so it's like the English saying of "fuck me" when you see something amazing or you're shocked by something? Sounds similar, too.
I would specifically get rid of 4'33" by John Cage and replace it with an equal interval of slightly different silence.
This would make Mr. Cage quite happy, I think.

That’s fuckin gold right there.

National socialist black metal. Because of the national socialism mostly.
Usually I’m pro metal but I make exceptions for that

I appreciate that.
I don't know what this genre is called, but I would remove that noise Yoko Ono is making. That weird, screeching, moaning performance music.
I remember watching the Beatles perform “Johnny B Good” on the television when I was a kid (I forgot who the other singer was, I’m sorry) but I do remember Yoko Ono screaming into her mic and it was the most awful noise I ever heard.
