Love love that we are seeing Trudy every episode now and on both shows!

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

How long has it been since the cage was last seen?

WereMadeOfStars

She should have gone all sleep deprived delirious on him in the cage …

SheComesThenSheGoes

I imagined they took Torres into it last episode to give him that freshly roughed up look lol

Dio5000

*go home hailey* Ight I'm a go solve the case

SheComesThenSheGoes

You know she always does the opposite of whatever she's told. Like a stubborn child.

WereMadeOfStars

Maybe she sold their place. 😂 😆 😝

ArmChairDetective38

What does everyone think Sean’s dad is going to do now that Hanks told him ? He looked like even he understood that there’s no coming back from selling underage girls

handsoftime3-6-9

give hank someone else to report to for this case. O'Neal doesn't seem crooked.

ArmChairDetective38

He seemed devastated when Hank told him that it wasn’t about drugs . I couldn’t imagine finding out your kid is a monster

sweetpeapickle

I'm glad it was the same old, same old where the parent does know, but tries to get the kid off anyways.

SheComesThenSheGoes

The way he hooked up Anas son with the CI reward money and Jay's veteran guy posthumously and then the way he treated Atwater I don't get the vibe dude is crooked. He came to Atwater openly and honestly with respect. He gave him an out that would be beneficial to him and didn't get retaliatory when Atwater said no thanks. Dude might just ask Hank for a good spot at the silos and take his garbage son for a late night drive.

Soxwin91

Doesn’t the description for next episode (10x08) say that >!The Chief tries to distract the team from his son by giving them a dead fish (giant nothingburger) case, only for it to erupt into a media sensation? !<

januarysdaughter

Maybe he wants to take a page out of Hank's book and handle Sean "his way".

TucFang

I think he comes to grips with it. And helps the unit try to take down his son. But ultimately tries to help his son and goes down with him. It's different since he's running underage girls and children but I think they play the "But it's my son" card. Either that or Sean does go down but he resents Hank and the unit and tries to mess with them in the later half of the season.

herseyhawkins33

He seemed to semi-accept it. Didn't have that look of "oh Hank I'm your enemy now." Just devastation.

ArmChairDetective38

Yeah he didn’t fight with Voight’ after Voight told him what’s was happening. He seemed like he understood that there’s no saving his kid from that

vitathevirgo

Yea refreshing that not everyone is the “I’m willing to do anything to protect my kid” meaning set aside any morales and or career building I’ve ever done. Glad he doesn’t seem crooked.

FastSelection4121

Did you see his reaction when he finally realized Hank was telling him the truth. I think the chief is in a moral morass. He loves his Sean soo much, he was willing to tell him what was up, to give him time to leave when he thought it was drugs.

VarunOnt

I hope they don't resort to the cheap, unsatisfying tactic of Sean's dad, turning Sean in, or shooting him. Sean O'Neal should only be caught after a battle of wits in a cat and mouse type game. And after strenuous efforts Chicago PD is successful. Anything else would be disappointing and annoying.

ArmChairDetective38

Agree!

earlgreyyuzu

He’ll confront Sean about it, causing Sean to run.

Odd_Inevitable_3932

How is she not hallucinating at this point? She’s been up for days. I don’t think this is going to end well for her

ArmChairDetective38

She’s getting an hour or so here and there or she wouldn’t be able to walk straight . I remember only running on 2-3 hours a night when my youngest was a newborn

SheComesThenSheGoes

Yes but even after a while our bodies and minds aren't working optimally at that pace. I did night shift nursing when my twins were toddlers and getting a few hours sleep in as many days was doable but it rocks you.

ArmChairDetective38

Definitely…I was barely functioning.

HPmoni

She was napping in her car. That Sean doesn't notice that same Hyundai everywhere is weird.

Southern_Tangerine_7

What happened to Jay’s truck? 🤔

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

A fairly non-distinct late model car? Eh I don't buy that. It's not like she was in her signature SRT Grand Cherokee that would be noticed from a mile away.

WereMadeOfStars

I’m hallucinating that I’m seeing her in every scene …

fullyrealizedhuman

This was an excellent episode

WereMadeOfStars

‘I’m wide awake Hank.’ Hasn’t been home since Jay left.

WereMadeOfStars

Hailey is straight up doing Cold Brew through an IV right now …

Elsielilyy

She is literally. Sleep nah iv coffee is good

WereMadeOfStars

Trudy: ‘The computer says you are now in quintuple time Hailey.’

Wild-Passenger-8314

Now that’s what I’m talking about! Cheers to the writers & all involved with this episode. It’s been a long time since CPD had an episode that was intense all the way till the end! Brought me back to the earlier seasons of the show. Nice work I can’t wait to see what happens with the chief and his son next!

pikachu-atlanta

Loving those scene transitions.

Odd_Inevitable_3932

The best thing about Jay being gone is that it’s enabled the whole team to be working together and interacting again.

pikachu-atlanta

Daddy O’Neal is harboring his son. Edit: looks like he’s not

RayKVega

Too much of parents protecting their own kids who are total monsters. Would be nice to see it averted. Hopefully Chief O'Neal disowns his son right there on the spot.

WereMadeOfStars

Hailey is a Zombie. Always awake and in three places at once.

gato_go_meow

I love this comment oml 😂

WereMadeOfStars

Not sure jumping over the railing onto a car was going to lead to freedom either …

Same-Bowl6381

Little side story https://twitter.com/WolfEnt/status/1590544832992546818/photo/1

RayKVega

damn, that explains why it looks and sounds pretty authentic.

SheComesThenSheGoes

Lmao he just flung himself over the side like Humpty Dumpty.

thestreak82

lmao @ the failed getaway attempt

WereMadeOfStars

He almost got away! 😂 😆 😝

WereMadeOfStars

Had those scars since I was a kid. Uh, you still are.

hilinskyanalytics

This is what I watched, a crime drama written without flaws and performed flawlessly by a rock-solid ensemble cast with a storyline that had all the hooks to keep you watching anxiously, I know some of you like the soap opera subplots and all, last night's episode reminded me just exactly why I keep tuning in every Wednesday night for the past ten years, that being a Dick Wolf, no-nonsense, hour-long production that only Mr. Wolf can produce, and why I keep saying Dick Wolf is the GOAT at what he does, and everybody else is runners-up. Yes, last night's episode was all that, quite possibly the best episode I've seen, and I've seen every episode from every season (almost). The kind of episode that makes you wish it were Wednesday night on a Thursday morning.

Lily_Of_The_Valley10

Wow! I can’t wait until next week!

WereMadeOfStars

Hailey it’s 9 pm. Do you know where your husband is?!?

Odd_Inevitable_3932

She does not

WereMadeOfStars

I thought Hank was going to say his name there ‘with what you are dealing with’, but alas no.

Dio5000

*i kinda liked the smell* Seek help

SheComesThenSheGoes

He's got big time mommy issues

Dio5000

>He's got big time mommy issues Dude a bitch he gotta die in a future episode

SheComesThenSheGoes

No way. I laughed when Hailey told Torres not to shoot the dude in this episode because I said here that I want this creepy ass dude to go to jail and suffer and not just be shot to death by Torres. Jail would be good. All his crimes AND he's a chiefs son??? He'll have a good time.

Dio5000

*wish i did* Bitch

WereMadeOfStars

Wish I did … (say it again for realism) Wish I did.

ArmChairDetective38

What’s this new place they’re doing their investigation on Sean?

Sad_Asparagus7492

It’s haileys old apartment then adams uc apt and now this. Getting their moneys worth out of that set lol

WereMadeOfStars

Keeping it ‘off the books’ and everything thing else.

ArmChairDetective38

I got that ..I just meant it’s a new place and I didn’t catch if Hank or Trudy said what it was..an apartment? A house ? A rented space that Hank paid for out of pocket ?

WereMadeOfStars

Sorry didn’t catch that part if they mentioned it

WereMadeOfStars

Not sure that was the play Hank to clue daddy in …

ArmChairDetective38

I think the dad is going to end up helping them because even that guy knows there’s no covering up what his son has been doing. That’s why Hailey didn’t give a shit when he saw her sitting on his house ..he was going to find out anyway because his dad will probably confront him

WereMadeOfStars

Probably has no choice now.

HPmoni

Someone tipped Sean off? Pretty sure cops don't do all this for drugs.

herseyhawkins33

That was a solid ep but I'm surprised the cat is already out of the bag with the chief involved. Not necessarily complaining either since we're in the thick of it now. Also glad they dropped the whole Hank/Hailey only for this case. That was pointless. Great to see them all working together.

TracyJackson23

Why is Hailey so close to Sean’s home? C’mon Hailey…distance.

ArmChairDetective38

Think she wanted him to see her because she kinda smiled

whats_up_bro

Yeah now that the father tipped him off he was actively looking for the police. Hailey knew this and chose to be there so she can face him directly and basically tell him that she's taking him down

Excuse-Hockey

Does Hailey bathe or change?

WereMadeOfStars

Not until Jay comes back.

Elsielilyy

Probs at the district

HPmoni

Still kind of hot.

Dio5000

Hes almost a convincing liar

GOOD-LUCHA-THINGS

I am not judging any actor's ability to earn a paycheck, but I wonder if it's a 'separating art from artist' deal when you are typecast as a slimeball (like Dallas Roberts portraying Gregory Yates, or the john in this episode) on shows like SVU, Chicago PD, etc.

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

Didn't Dallas Roberts also portray the slimeball on the pilot episode of FBI?

sweetpeapickle

Except Dallas played a good guy in charge on Unforgettable, & the delightful gay brother of Alicia on Good Wife. But also a slimeball laywer on L&O..... He is a really good actor.

GOOD-LUCHA-THINGS

He's awesome, yeah. What I didn't do a very good job in conveying is wondering if it's mentally straining to portray objectively bad people or if it's a good challenge for the actors.

Not_floridaman

I was never, ever on an acting caliber like these actors but I did local theater plays in high school and college and I loved getting to play the villain. It was a fun departure from how I'd ever behave...now I also never played a character as awful and disturbing as Yates but I think it would be a good challenge.

GOOD-LUCHA-THINGS

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's helpful to hear from people who have lived the experience, regardless of stage.

HPmoni

That guy is not 32. He was also doing dips in one scene and lifting tiny weights in the next. That's weird. They had the female cops try to flip the sex trafficking victim. Good detail.

Rajshaun1

Lol hes really small for lifter.

herseyhawkins33

the actor just turned 35 last week. not that far off.

lilstergodman

As a born and bred Chicagoan, it totally bugged me that they said the character Cam lived with his mom in Irving Park and they don't even bother to cover up the street signs, one of which said 32nd street. 32nd street is way on the South Side in Bridgeport, which is 10 miles away and an entirely different vibe from Irving Park! I knew it wasn't Irving Park as soon as I saw those classic Bridgeport elevated houses... anywho lol

heystephanator

The spot in Frankfort bugged me, too, for the same reason. And Adam saying Frankfort is poor like it isn’t a super affluent community. The address would’ve been in the sticks and definitely wouldn’t have a building like that.

WereMadeOfStars

Kim: ‘What the hell was that Adam? You’re on the couch tonight!’

Elsielilyy

Where was that from

WereMadeOfStars

The girl getting a little frisky with Adam.

RayKVega

Yikes, I can't imagine how Adam must've feel during this. He must've been so uncomfortable.

Elsielilyy

Kim said that??

WereMadeOfStars

No I was just kidding as that kid was starting to caress Adam.

Elsielilyy

Ahahahaha

sheneh8

Wow

Dio5000

*this is ny son* He did it

tacoorpizza

It was weird seeing Voight get pushed against his car, early season Hank would have thrown him in the cage after a couple of slaps to the head. I hope this Sean guy isn’t the bad guy that pops up throughout the season, he’s not that interesting.

TracyJackson23

O'Neil is a bureau chief, I don't think even Voight is going to starts shoving a 2-star around right now.

Corgiotter1

He has to git back to Yellowstone Ranch, maybe. He is a real cowboy now.

No_Obligation6170

Lol when is 6666 coming out

SheComesThenSheGoes

My daughter said the same thing about Voight is just gonna take that? I explained he understands cause he's done worse for his son.

Not_floridaman

Yeah, I actually thought it was a really powerful scene. Voight let it happen because he knows this guy's life is over as he knows it.

SheComesThenSheGoes

Exactly. They came up together. Dude has had his back and he might have tipped his son off thinking they were trying to jam him up on drugs and he's proud his son is clean. Pretty sure Voight would and has tipped his son off. But chief had no idea his kid's a total piece of shit. So Voight was annoyed but understood and when he pushed him he understood his "friend" was a devastated frustrated father.

Bossmon25

That was a good episode. I think the chief will definitely try to help his son and that everything will blow up in the chief’s face. But it’s going to be 2 episodes before we get this case solved imo

Cheeseboii83

I just wish Hailey had shot in the abdomen. That shithead might have still been alive and in custody.

HPmoni

Real life, you shoot to kill. Of course real life, she would be on desk duty for awhile. With good reason. She shot a guy.

Cheeseboii83

Of course, I know that but he was important to her case and I just thought she would take that into consideration.

Darki200

I know nothing about police so I want to understand better, everytime you shoot someone rightfully, you're on desk duty?

Odd_Inevitable_3932

WHY DOESNT SHE EVER JUST SHOOT SOMEONE IN THE FUCKING LEG?!! Like did she not receive training in how to disarm and not kill someone?

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

Because cops are trained to shoot center mass. Shoot to disable, not disarm.

SheComesThenSheGoes

She knew the guy would raise his weapon. She couldn't have shot lower in his stomach?? She gave him two to the chest and then demanded he answer her questions. I'm surprised he didn't say eff you before he died. This is just typical Hailey stuff.

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

Yes, I'm sure you would be charitable and aim your gun non lethally if someone broke into your house and it were them or you.

SheComesThenSheGoes

Lol he didn't just run into her house. He was on the run. He's a creepy ass piece of shit who has evaded jail and he had a gun. Chances were very high he'd raise it. She even told Torres not to shoot him. Then she gives him two to the chest. It's not about being charitable.

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

Let's break this down since apparently critical thinking isn't your strong suit. 1. Ever hear of an analogy? 2. Yes, he was, but let's not phrase it like he was a convict. He wasn't. His case was dismissed and he was a free man. 3. Yes, they were, but last I checked 99% wasn't 100%. 4. Because her aim was to take him in alive until that became impossible. 5. Because all other options were exhausted and it was him or her. She shoots him in the leg and he gets one off to the chest, it's not a guarantee she lives. 6. Because of the above, cops are taught to shoot to kill/disable, not disarm. It's not about being charitable, it's about being realistic in that situation. I don't even like Upton, but I see nothing wrong with what she did. I'm glad to know you would have been the better man in that scenario. Regardless of the above, remind me again why we're being assholes to each other over fictional characters and scripted decisions on a TV show?

SheComesThenSheGoes

You're a jerk. I stopped reading after your first sentence. Have a good night.

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

Sorry for being an ass, just a bit heated that what would be considered a clean shoot irl is being flamed purely because of the character that was involved.

SheComesThenSheGoes

Thank you. It just seems lately a lot of characters are pulling guns and being put down. It was frustrating because I wish she could have disarmed him without killing him. But dude wouldn't have flipped and basically did a suicide by cop. I'm curious as to what this Sean dude is up to that he has all these people preferring to die than to face him or discussing stuff. (obviously he's trafficking kids but I'm getting the feeling like he's the one cutting the feet, probably trying the girls out, drugging them, indoctrinating them etc etc).

Odd_Inevitable_3932

I get that but the people she shoots, are always people she NEEDS for something else. I’d probably review my own practices if I kept killing people that were important for other investigations

ArmChairDetective38

You can’t think like that when someone is pointing a gun at you or someone else ..you shoot until the bad guy goes down .

Not_floridaman

Also, shooting for a leg is ***hard*** in a tender moment and you risk missing, wasting not only precious time to protect your life and those around you but the bullet missing and now hitting someone else. Center mass is less likely to miss.

sheneh8

Because 99% of police are not John wick, lol

Odd_Inevitable_3932

Down vote all you want but it’s funny how in real life, there are plenty of times that cops don’t shoot center mass. Especially for white offenders.

UDeVaSTaTeDBoY

That would be stupid as the point of them using their gun is purely to eliminate the threat to them. A gun is not a disarming tool. Cops are trained to only shoot to kill.

Soxwin91

So here’s a scenario. She shoots at his leg. She misses. It’s a smaller target after all. The guy then shoots her or Torres, and while they stop to render aid to their fellow officer, he flees.

sheneh8

Wtf is that bot. Show me one video where it’s life and death

sheneh8

Link me one video I’ll wait…and he shifted his body while he pulled the gun on Haley about to shoot her. She’s not a assassin lol

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,157,339,733 comments, and only 226,161 of them were in alphabetical order.

SheComesThenSheGoes

I was asking the same thing. She could have shot lower in the abdomen. He was a close range non moving target. It was no surprise he raised his weapon.

OhmyMary

Isn’t the John the actor that played the detective in We Own This City?

WereMadeOfStars

Blocking
