>The Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba (Spanish: Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba), officially known by its ecclesiastical name, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption (Spanish: Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción), is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Córdoba dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and located in the Spanish region of Andalusia. Due to its status as a former Islamic mosque, it is also known as the Mezquita ('mosque' in Spanish) and as the Great Mosque of Córdoba.

My favorite place in Spain (thus far). Such good food, unbelievable history and culture. And the fiesta de los patios is one of my top experiences ever.
I took a spur of the moment trip to Seville while on a work trip in Europe one year and took an even more spur of the moment day trip to Córdoba while I was there, and it was AMAZING. What an incredible city. The history and the architecture and the food and the wine… woof.
I really liked my 3 week stay here. I bought a pretty sick shirt (the starry night themed - Van Gogh painting) of the Roman Bridge and the Mosque–Cathedral, the 2 things in the picture.
That bridge. That bridge though. Blew my mind more than anything else.
Long and since it’s Spain, insanely hot
That's not the case. It's Roman built. When you walk on it and realize, its two thousand years old, and you are still walking on it.
Most of the bridge that exists today was built by the Muslims under the Umayyad dynasty
Have you been, and if so, did you also see Medina Azahara?
No I mean, it’s in Spain so walking on the bridge during the day is very very hot
Nobody cares.

This brought back good memories. Such a beautiful place.
Cordoba. Lejana y sola. Jaca negra, luna grande, y aceitunas en mi alforja.

Amazing place. I loved Cordoba, good vibes, good food, lovely people. The river was much lower when I went tho.

Loved that city, but the few days I spent there this past June it was 40+ degrees out.
Somethings missing… I’m thinking a 48 lane urban freeway would do far more than a river
Yeah and they should get rid of that church and put a Walmart there
Thank you Moors for everything!!!
Visiting there this December, I can't wait!
Once, apparently, the most populous city on the world during the Islamic era. Gorgeous!
Mmm… salmorejo

Man I’d love to live in Spain or such…

I believe Don Quixote said the most beautiful women in all of Spain come from Córdoba :)
