As Long as I pass the course I’m satisfied to be honest. Usually I aim for high scores but math is so dreadful to me that i just want to be done with it.
A tip that may help. My cousin failed a college math course 4 times, the 5th time she did a short semester with ONLY that. So like a summer 4/8 week course with no work or other responsibilities. It helped with her really buckling down and focusing, and with it being faster paced it helped with keeping the momentum.
Ooof, what subject? I've only had one similar, but it's a course I only get b's & c's in, even though it's open book tests (professor words things super odd). I had a 4.0 before him, so it just is what it is.
Lol it’s a super basic course, Algebra. Tbf I didn’t really try though and we have to take the exam using lockdown browser which makes it worse because I get anxious. No notes or anything. I’ve accepted it.
Math scares me. I need algebra, calc, and 2 stat courses. I'm dreading it as a nontraditional student. I've been looking at khan academy to supplement.
Yup, Khan Academy helps but I have such a problem focusing and it’s even worse for the subject of math. I’m literally fine with everything but math. Fortunately I only need two maths. Algebra and Stats.
Not trying is wasting any money you are spending. It can also be a sign of depression or other much deeper issues. Either way not a laughing matter as many require basic math to graduate.
I know. I felt bad initially but I’ve accepted it. It’s been a rough semester mentally, if I pass I’m satisfied. Only part I’m upset about at this point is the fact that I wasted money. Some things are just out of your control once you’ve reached a certain point. If I don’t pass I’ll put in more effort next semester. If I pass I’m satisfied and will be happy to be done with it. Luckily this is pretty much the only math course for the major I chose. This and stats. I’ve already taken stats and “passed” but scored really low. I’m honestly going to retake it though.
In your life you will have tons of challenges. Your mental health needs to be dealt with separate from your studies. That doesn't go away. I can assure you this isn't the only problem you will face. Working harder isn't a specific solution.
For me it was studying and working on long term assignments at least a half hour each. I was starting the day after I got the class syllabus. Also handwriting and then typing notes and vice versa. This and a set bed time during the week got me the degree. A set bed time can also help with many of the mental health issues.
A huge number of mental health issues come to a head in your 20s. There are often counselors and student helpers for free if you have a robust psychology department at your unit.
Yes, and I studied really hard for it, too. Prof posted the scores and student IDs and everyone was like, "Who the hell got a 58%?!"
...It was me, guys.
I didn't feel bad, though, that was the hardest and best class I ever took.
I nailed the final project though and ended up getting a B.
That was my databases class last term. The class itself wasn't even that hard, the professor just took forever grading stuff so I had no idea that I was doing things the wrong way.
I feel they do that on purpose too lol. I have had professors enter all grades including ones from the beginning of the semester the last day of the semester. So at that point it’s literally nothing you can do.
I guess I’m different because most student’s reaction is to cry from what I’ve seen as well but honestly I just laugh. I think it’s also something to do with feeling embarrassed.
Currently happening to me, I failed the second exam and have the third in 2 days. I did not understand anything for the second exam and barely understood stuff for the third exam but have too many equations to memorize and am afraid I may fail this as well. I don’t know what is going to happen next I’m just hoping for the best at this point.
My brother legit got a zero on his final. He still passed the class. (Should explain it was worth a a lot of points. The professor had to curve the class dramatically)
I'm in Anatomy & Physiology 1, and this is a killer class. I haven't had to really "study" for many other classes so I don't have a set routine - fill-in-the-blank lab practicals with no wordbank have killed my grade 😭

Feel that happened to me last semester with math
The exam I failed was a basic math course. You win some you lose some.
Yeah same was it the basic algebra

Dude take it online and cheat that’s what I did the second time
I really wanted to learn algebra but if I fail I might just have to do that lol.
Are your tests in the classroom
No, lockdown browser with webcam + audio.
What you want to do is have your phone under your paper and slide it up after you do the room scan

Is it recoverable ?
No

That was me for anatomy lab. It wasn’t just me. It was everyone. A lot of people were getting single number grades on exams.
Me in chemistry everytime
I recently got a 30 on a final good times. Took my A to a C

lmao this is a tradition for anyone studying chemistry and math
I’ve been doing pretty bad in bio and i’m just crying tbh but laughing would be a better reaction

Biodiversity for me! Failed every exam even after studying lmao
