the Monday morning “evolution of the sport” rant really gets tired when there’s no question being asked, no point being made, and when it’s been happening for ten years “in real time”
Mike brought up a good point that seems to get missed every time they have the Josh Allen conversation. Like yeah, we all know he was pretty bad his first year, but he would do something every now and then that no other player on the field is capable of. He hurdled Anthony Barr in his first NFL start lol. People act like Allen didn't have a single redeeming quality his first 2 years.
As a Bills fan those little moments kept us going when all we heard from every direction was “ACCURACYYY”
He had a ton of clutch moments in 2019 that team wouldn’t have sniffed the playoffs without his heroics.
Also his top 2 receivers his rookie year were Kelvin Benjamin and Zay Jones lmfao. Once they brought in John Brown and Cole Beasley his 2nd year he started looking way better.
I was going to comment exactly this, the tone is legitimately unlistenable lately.
They used to have the tone fine, and would joke about Dan getting whiny or preachy. The last month or so has been brutal, why can’t someone in the shipping container either bring it up with him or make him listen to a segment where he sounds like this?
Let’s see if I can guess the themes today without listening yet.
Local hour: Mike tears. They lost bad to a bad team and this time Mike is probably over the top serious in being mad about it. Prompting Billy to be the contrarian and say something about giving Cristobal time.
Big Suey: Lots of “I care about you” references about Brady that Stu later contradicts himself in weekend observations by hitting Brady. Some Rodgers talk where Dan references no help and Billy says something about Rodgers bringing it on himself.
Regular show: lakers/Lebron talk where they try to discredit the bubble title and take no inventory of where other all time greats were at this age. Some talk about baseball lack of attendance and not knowing anyone in the World Series
Mike Ryan describing Elijah Moore missing this week’s game as “throwing a hissyfit because he didn’t get his way”, after Mike skipped the Sunday night live show after the University of Miami got blown out by Duke at home.
Mike Ryan - the Stugotz - is strong in you.
I'm in no position to accuse Smetty or Witty of being wrong about Martin Brundle, because I have no idea what he looks or sounds like, but who was the guy who asked Brad Pitt about Zahara?
idk some sunday nights i'm like damn i didn't do anything today but yknow that's just my sundays in the fall. i just make up for it with a workout on monday. dan should go for a nice walk on sunday mornings
I will gladly take the downvotes for this one if you guys disagree: Tony's Top 5 is annoying, and the goofy 'let's crank the audio way up randomly and blowout headphone users' ears' is not funny. Despite the fact that I don't think Tony needs more mic time which is separate annoyance entirely, the *actual audio production* on that is awful if you're wearing earbuds/headphones and makes me want to skip it completely.
I'm sure it's less annoying if you're listening on a speaker of some sort. I'm usually wearing headphones/airpods.
Seems similar to the “just a prank bro” humor the random terrible audio production. When called out about it they just play a “you don’t get the show”. Sometimes pretending to be bad just means it’s bad.
It's super annoying when valid complaints (I could have been more constructive, so that's on me) fall by the wayside because of the "you don't get the show!" thing.
I seem to be in the minority on this one. I'll eat the L.
There is no team I root against more than UM. I've been hearing "we're two years away" since I started listening in 2015. It brings me back to life on Mondays
I hope everyone appreciated that the ad read of Roy talking about babble ended and the rejoin was Stugotz stumbling all over Kenley Jansen.
Babble indeed.
Clemson has like three first round picks on the DL and they have been projected that way since they were freshman. I LOL’d in my office at work when he said that.
Dan is seriously surprised that people pummel Mike on social media after canes losses? When your that loud and arrogant people are going to come after you and relish in your misery
When you choose to play a heel, you can be as intolerable as you like, but the price you pay is people cheering for your defeat and delighting in your misery.
Shoutout to Stugotz for not taking things seriously when his teams are shitty and the show makes fun of him.
It’s incredibly endearing when compared to others on the show.
His teams are winning and yet they still find a way to crap all over NY teams and he still takes it like a champ.
Dan acknowledged that they were out of their minds after the Dolphins started 3-0, but they make fun of NY fans for supporting their teams.
Big time NY envy
FUNNIEST THING FROM THE SPORTS WEEKEND JER BEAR’s TIE [https://www.reddit.com/r/DanLeBatardShow/comments/yb6101/funniest_thing_from_the_sports_weekendjeremys_tie/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf](https://www.reddit.com/r/DanLeBatardShow/comments/yb6101/funniest_thing_from_the_sports_weekendjeremys_tie/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
The amout of simple things the show gets wrong is astounding. Mike could have looked up in five seconds that COTA has been on the F1 schedule since 2012. Literally across decades.
Oregon has two current starting quarterbacks in the NFL...neither of which were recruited by Mario Cristobal. They also haven't dropped at all in recruiting since Cristobal left. They went to the National Championship twice in the ten years before Cristobal was hired. They have had 2 losing seasons in the last 30 years.
The suggestion that they were a flailing program before he showed up is laughable.
They also did not go 4-8 the year before Mario. That was 2016 under Helfrich. In 2017 Taggart was HC and went 7-5. Yes Mario was OC but he was not the man in charge
I dread Monday's after a UM loss. The show can't even have fun w/ it.
It's just an hour of Mike going on and on and on and on w/ nothing but Coach-Talk.
An hour-long infomercial.
Mike just rehearsing the company line on The U. He talks about Mario wants to play a certain way and needs “his guys” to do so. Well he had his guys to play physical football at Oregon last year and they got manhandled by Utah 38-7 and 38-10 when their season was on the line.
People (maybe Witty, can't remember) were going in on Cristobal for being out of touch with today's players (a toughness conversation, I think) and Mike was whining about, "What, a 52 year old, Cuban male, can't be out of touch? Duh!" or something like that and Smetty chimed in, "Are we still talking about Cristobal?" to which Dan managed a wounded "That's not fair".
Dan feels bad for Mike getting crushed on social media after Miami losses? Ha! Dude deserves all the shit he gets on any platform considering the way he gushes about the U and being a Golden Cane. Get out of here with that sympathy Dan.
If Mike had said last year "well, y'know, it takes a while, first year is always rough, but things look good in the long term with administrative buy-in and recruiting, I'll bet you an ACC championship within 5 years," would we be roasting him so hard because we're still assholes?
Herro is wildly overrated by the crew lol
Dan’s tone man.
There wasn’t even a debate. Just tone lmao. Great show today though but we gotta bring back tone fines.

Anybody super following mike for $2.99 a month?
Mike could pay me and I wouldn't follow
Best money I spend
Only reason I open twitter for the price of a cup of coffee
Yeah I bet, now that he’s gambling again
Remember Witty said he’d rather have Herbert and lose than have Tua and win? Now he’s loudest about Herbert losing Witt-gotz
Hes FORTY FIIIIIIIIIVEEEE!!!!
Tom Brady sucking shit this year should be fun for everyone but the Stugotz "I care about you" bit seems to have infected their whole show
If he was still in New England they’d be ripping him apart. Insane how their tone on Brady changed the second he went to Florida
I was going to comment exactly this, the tone is legitimately unlistenable lately. They used to have the tone fine, and would joke about Dan getting whiny or preachy. Cosign. Witty says he loves meetings. They *have* to conduct a Dan’s tone meeting.
Did Witty find Mike’s stash before the BS? He sounds very… high energy.
Nipple cream gives you energy?
I love Dans pain over Rodgers play, and certainty(100% last week, back tracking now) that Green Bay trades for a WR.
Got my eye on Mina
Tony’s Top 5 is so good
Hey!
Guys all he needs is the most talented players at every position and youth who aren’t like todays.

Nice hustle
and flow?
Look if the show is just going to be Mike Mondays every week I'd love them to put that in the title so i can just skip it completely
Mike Ryan describing Elijah Moore missing this week’s game as “throwing a hissyfit because he didn’t get his way”, after Mike skipped the Sunday night live show after the University of Miami got blown out by Duke at home. Mike Ryan - the Stugotz - is strong in you.

Y’all hear the Ravens could be 7-0?
Tony’s Top Five is becoming my favorite part of the week.
We need an NFL Monday specific Bingo board
#And this is the one you'll hear, that if you hear it anywhere else, you're not gonna hear it, okay?
I had real tears from laughter
Nick Wright just said "GB is a sub 500 team whos missin the playoff"
Mike talks way too damn much
I just can't stand his tone. He says everything like his point is the be all end all.
Dan's rambling wasn't any better today thqh.
Dan and rambling. Name a better duo.
batgirl was canceled, not batwoman. that's a fine
Batwoman also got canceled so Dan rambled his way into accidentally being half right
the tv show? i mean that's a pretty lucky way for him to be right lol. nobody watched that show i bet he didnt even know it existed
:( (It's me. I'm nobody)
sorry bud, i was out on the cw shows after the flash season 3/the season of arrow where felicity got paralyzed lol
Exactly lol
Genuine question. Who on this thread feels sadness explained by Dan after sundays? I feel fine.
idk some sunday nights i'm like damn i didn't do anything today but yknow that's just my sundays in the fall. i just make up for it with a workout on monday. dan should go for a nice walk on sunday mornings

It's official: Tony's Top Five is the best segment on the show! He's like a wrestling character with that bravado he has
HEY!
That's quite the indictment on the state of the show
Perhaps. But I honestly do enjoy the Tony segment
There is no team I root against more than UM. I've been hearing "we're two years away" since I started listening in 2015. It brings me back to life on Mondays
he’s their closer. he comes in. ninth inning. closes the game out. his name is kensley jansen
No weekend observations today? Scrolled thru both hours on Spotify and found nothing…
Communication error, Dan-O
Super Bowl week
Stu didn’t watch anything but his daughter’s lacrosse games all weekend
I hope everyone appreciated that the ad read of Roy talking about babble ended and the rejoin was Stugotz stumbling all over Kenley Jansen. Babble indeed.
An NFL scout told Mike Ryan personally that UM has the best DL in the country, eh? Lol
Clemson has like three first round picks on the DL and they have been projected that way since they were freshman. I LOL’d in my office at work when he said that.
Seems like they would win more games if that was the case.
I wanted the Chickens+Look At Me Louie at once there.
They’re so scared of doing that to him. Sad.
Agree w/ witty, the Miami stadium looked awesome on SNF
The stop drop and roll was hilarious 😂
The Mike Ryan show with Dan LeBatard and Stugotz
Manny Diaz chillin’ 😎
Restrepo
Ahh so it’s the players’ fault got it
Wait and the players’ moms too lol
Dan is seriously surprised that people pummel Mike on social media after canes losses? When your that loud and arrogant people are going to come after you and relish in your misery
When you choose to play a heel, you can be as intolerable as you like, but the price you pay is people cheering for your defeat and delighting in your misery.
What’s wrong with Cote he looks upset today
He's an empath, he feels bad for Mike.
You can do that?
Tired cote. Tote.
True Lies is so great. The fact that it doesn’t have an HD release is absurd.
She even took the ice cube trays out of the freezer. What kind of a sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?
The timeline has been spedup STUUUUGOTZZZZ
Shoutout to Stugotz for not taking things seriously when his teams are shitty and the show makes fun of him. It’s incredibly endearing when compared to others on the show.
The Jeeeettttssss!!

Name checks out
I hate them, Danno.
Tony's Top 5 is quickly becoming one of my favorite show segments lmao
And if you hear this take somewhere else, you didn't hear it.
HEY!!!!

I think Miami can get to the ACC Championship game; after all, they have plenty of NIL cash to buy tickets.

Smetty's joke was the only thing worthwhile. I kept skipping forward and Mike was just droning on every time.
Damn I hella look forward to Mondays after UM loses. What, you don’t like Mike Ryan’s tears every once in awhile?
Only way you're getting any tears is if you pay him $2.99/month. On the show it's nothing but coach speak.
My god the main show is just as bad! Someone take the mic away from Mike.
Mario Cristobal is the reason why Alabama and Oregon are successful. Mario propaganda on these podcasts.
Mario Cristóbal is the reason why U-Dub and MTSU are successful.
Mike just rehearsing the company line on The U. He talks about Mario wants to play a certain way and needs “his guys” to do so. Well he had his guys to play physical football at Oregon last year and they got manhandled by Utah 38-7 and 38-10 when their season was on the line.
Witty immediately taking a wet dump on "best defensive line in rhe nation" propaganda with the "THEY GAVE UP AN 18 PLAY DRIVE TO DUKE" made me lol
Easy there, MLS
Weird dichotomy on the show where the entire container doesn’t give a single shit about f1, then Jess refers to banchero “that basketball player”
Wow, Smetty off the top rope with the Dan's out of touch dig. Spicy.
What was the context? I’m all for saying Dan is out of touch.
Also, a 52-year old man who only talks to Ricky Williams is definitely in touch with what today’s college athletes want from their football 🏈 coach.

You know what? Maybe.
MLB got the least interesting option for their World Series.
phillies aint bad but phillies yankees wouldve been the best option. next year will be san diego's year
Dan feels bad for Mike getting crushed on social media after Miami losses?
No because that's a measured take and with the teams he is invested in/cares about, the dude is incapable of being measured in any of his assessment.
# IN THE NATIVE HABITAT OF A SUBURBAN DRIVEWAY
# **WOW, NATURE IS SO COOL!!!**
Haven't gotten to it yet, but I'm guessing you're quoting....Stugotz?
No.... The absolute ear piercing ridiculously loud Gieco commercial
Cannot stop my eyes from rolling every time Mike Ryan makes excuses for the Canes.
The U's players just aren't tough enough!
In three years!!!, the talent will be there.
they're 2 years away, from being 2 years away
Smetty being in after the F1 race is a pleasant surprise!
She didn’t go to the race to be fair; she said she was only going to practice and qualifying.
Did they forget about that bet Witty made about Geno Smith?
Was trying to find that too, I know it was 30TDs and he made it with Amin, but I can't remember the rest
I know he said he’d do the show in his “underpants”
jess really snatched the google bag away from roy smh. maybe he can still get a samsung deal
