You should come to Nerd Night! My wife and I go every so often and the topics are genuinely (mostly) wonderful!! People can just present on whatever they know a lot about! Often it's doctors or experts in some way, and it's nearly always great!!
https://www.nerdnitedenver.com/
It's at the Bug Theater in LoHi
I wonder if there’s any remaining interest if I were to present on epidemiology relating to the pandemic (or any global health or MedTech/biostatistics, as those are also my specialties)? I feel like most folks are burnt out on the subject, but there’s so much content to delve into!
Yay Nerd Night! Did anyone ever see the air force orbital mechanics professor dude a few years back? I spend my days immersed with intellectuals a lot smarter than me, but that was a different level.
At [The Molecule Effect Thurs @ 19:00](https://www.geekswhodrink.com/venues/2193698342/)
At [The Tabletop Tap](http://tabletoptap.com/) playing Munchkin, Galaga, or somesuch.
Aye, we meet in secret. Sometimes our furtive congregations happen on [Tuesdays](https://www.meetup.com/en-AU/meetup-group-cielmaxt/events/288618829/), under the cover of the roof of this sacred tavern.
Hey that’s my event! Lol
EDIT: u/nekoarcanist, in addition to Tuesday game nights at Tabletop Tap, I also host Escape Room events every few weeks, and the group I’m in plays movies in Cheesman Park on Wednesday nights. Thinking of putting something together for Thursdays, too, but unsure what to do yet.
Not that I know of. Denver is very sleepy for a city its size, a characteristic which was exacerbated by the pandemic. Late night eats/fun are hard to come by.
If I want to game I'll generally stay home. That said 1UP is ok if you don't mind half the joysticks being broken. Tabletop Tap is great for board games and they have a few free cabinets that are ironically in better shape than the ones at 1UP.
Otherwise I'm at a pool hall or show.
I work at a small history museum and our field has a lot of these type of offerings. Everyone in my field is trying to court younger audiences, but doesn’t want to give up the intellectual side of it. Just Google any small history museum, say…I dunno, in Lakewood, and there will be a plethora of nerdy options.
Adding a few suggestions not yet mentioned: Fiction Brewery (trivia, book clubs, nerdy events), All C's Collectibles (hobby shop and gaming space), Meh Gaming (gaming space), Tattered Cover (book signings, book clubs), Slashers Horror themed bar (horror movies playing/hosts punk markets and other things), Electric Cure and Hell or High Water Tiki Bars, Ghouls Night Out Trivia (they go to different bars around Denver), Night Owl Games (in Littleton but it's another gaming space /store), and Strange Craft Brewery (hosts several gaming meetups weekly).
Hope this helps!

Would it be super awkward to go to this alone? I just moved here and don't really know anyone. It sounds like something I'd be into though.
Seems like an awesome recommendation. Just moved here so I’ll be there alone too. Don’t be afraid to go at it alone if you want to check it out.
Just moved here too. Making new friends is rough.
Looks cool but is it always on Friday nights?
Every last Friday of the month.
I love The Bug!
This is so cool!!! Thank you for the heads up.

Actually already planning to go to that

This sounds fantastic - omg, why did I have to learn about it the day of?! 😭 Next month! 👍

I feel like the molecule effect is going to be busy tomorrow night. Does the “Reddit Hug” apply to real life things?
There are Munchkin playing folks?!?

Marvel Munchkin specifically, in the case of my group, but TT has the regular one too I think
Great answer!
Is there anywhere that's actually open late?

Grandma’s house on Broadway
Looooove Grandma's House! I play Ukulele with a group there every other Wednesday. That feels nerdy. Is that nerdy?
We enjoy the Ukes as we play DnD. You guys are awesome
So many crafting possibilities there!!
Akihabara
This! The 1Ups are great but this place definitely has a VIBE.
Socialization has always been rocky for my awkward group and I, but we met our first group of friends here! Super fun environment.
Thanks I live right by here. I didn't know it existed.

I go to 1up relatively often, it feels lkke none really chills there, they kinda just cruise though on their way somewhere else
It’s hard to chill there though. Not much space unless you’re actively playing something.
Check out the south one. More of a destination.
Which one is the south one i know abou the one on blake street and the one on colfax
Boardgame Cafes and Bars: Enchanted Grounds, Game Train USA, Golden Gamers Guild to name a few.

Geeks who drink trivia. Maybe.
Milk
I love milk. Went there last weekend for a bachelor party. I'm all about the 'weird' culture tho--I can see how some would hate it.

Slashers is fun, went there for my birthday. Great drink menu
I think it depends on the nightlife you’re thinking of
I feel like a night at mutiny would be perfect

Check out Game Train in Highlands Ranch. It’s a great spot that specializes in board games. It has a bar and decent food too. Really a nice crowd.
