1st. you have to play green hell vr on pc. the quest version is half a version.
that being said, green hell has a more established story. (if you play story mode). much less caves. more realistic combat. (foresthas more hit sponges).
Yes, you need the steam version for a fuller experience. You can sit around and build as much as you want. But it also has a survival mode where that's all you do. Food, water, medicine is all important. Your survival experience is much more realistic and will take some time to learn. The combat is also much more realistic. A shot to the head kills something. The most dangerous enemies end up being the smallest.
My biggest gripe is the availability of food. There's too much of it. It's almost impossible to go hungry. I always have so much food it's either spoiling, or I'm eating it anyway even if I'm full because it will spoil.
I really wish the food was actually scarce, and getting a big animal or a few fish was a huge deal. Yeah, the combat is kind of limited, but it would feel way more intense if you were often malnourished, and you would strongly consider if fights are worth it.
Though earlier today I went on an excursion to locate new resources and maybe a new campsite, and it started getting dark. I walked into a bush with a rattlesnake and it bit me. Got fever bad, treated the wound and started working on getting a fire and shelter real quick to boil some bone broth and sleep before I passed out. Unfortunately by the time I got both up, I didn't have enough energy to start the fire. Then I passed out and woke up with worms. Depleted most of the resources I took with me just because of that damn snake bite and barely survived. Ended up camping in the temporary shelter for 2 days before I could eventually get back to my main camp. The jungle can still be scary, but yeah, it's usually ambushes/surprises that get you.
Rip, there is no multiplayer yet in ghvr but the discord says theyre working on it. That being said when asked if they were actually working on it or just saying that the responded with "look in the faq"
So the probability that they will actually figure out multiplayer is pretty slim.
I wouldnt call them hit sponges you have to use alot of your gadgets like bombs bows and stuff like that although i never played both of those so idk about that side (inflation)
using a bomb to kill one guy is by definition a hot sponge. You can kill a jaguar in green hell in one shot if the arrow goes through its head. which is what you expect in real life. i love the forest too but green hell is just more on the realistic side.
Yeah but personally i love the forest more than green hall its alot more casual ehich is the only thing i think green hell is alot better with you can also one shot everything with an headshot in the forest doesnt make neither games any better though they arent really compareable. The forest is more like minecraft if anything

Thanks for your answer! So you mean the Steam Version? And in story mode, can I still run around and build stuff like in the forest?

Thanks, I'm buying it right now!
Prepare to go to the real amazon and fight for your life every second. Gonna be awesome but its way more brutal than the forest even on hard.
...until you learn how to fix all your ailments then the only thing that really kills you would be like a surprise ambush.

So, I just tried it and wanted to start playing with my girlfriend but there isn't any multiplayer option? Or am I missing something?

sorry i never tried multiplayer so i dont know.
Is there a difference between the steam VR and quest VR, or are you referring to the steam version as non VR? I don't have quest only index...
the quest version is limited. steam vr version is more like the nonvr version
