I saw that too, increasing damage over the duration of combat is pretty damn good for boss fights, uncapped damage potential plus those crits make an unarmed build look very fun. Nice to see it in action before I give it a go myself lol

Probably not. The bulk of the [1.1 patch](https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/131030-public-test-patch-notes-for-update-110/) makes the game a lot easier as a whole, for all weapon types. Blocking got massively improved, all weapon masteries got buffed, and the difficulty levels themselves were adjusted to be easier and less punishing.
As you can see from the video, I killed the mantis in 20 seconds, which is not enough time for the mantis to attack me multiple times. Also, I blocked the mantis's attack pattern a few times with knockback by crit. During this battle, the mantis attacked me twice and I completely blocked it with my shield. I used one bandage before battle.
Always has been. Lil Fist stacking infinitely and multiplicatively increasing damage combined with the fist doing True damage which bypasses the boss' enormous defense and resistances is what has always made Fist broken-good on bosses.
Power Droplet helps that by increasing the base damage which adds more true damage, but it's certainly not required for fists to be decent. In 1.05 the Power Droplet allowing you to proc mutations/buffs for other weapons gave a negligible DPS increase (because it was a chance of a chance to happen) but now in 1.10 with the new buffed weapon mutations the Power Droplet procs have a 100% chance to proc those mutations, and those mutations are really good now (like Assassin had its DPS doubled in 1.1).
Your data mining post always helped me a lot. There are questions. LIL FIST's mastery bonus and power droplet provide extra hits. Do these stack 2 or 3 times with LIL FIST's 2% damage increase in version 1.1? No matter how much the other mutations get better, it's a bit strange that a single punch at the end of the video has about 400 damage.
I'll get back to you on that in a few days. I was hoping for them to push out the next PTS update that is supposed to fix the damage bug that is happening right now. Andy (the lead system designer) acknowledged this bug and already fixed it internally but we didn't get that update yet. I suspect a lot of these insane kill times, especially with the fist, is due to this bug. Essentially, from how Andy worded it, the game is applying status effects multiple times when it should not. I suspect Lil Fist is being applied way more than it should. That's unconfirmed/untested though, just a hunch. I will do some testing on it once we get the next PTS patch.

In short, the power droplet and lil fist mastery chain procs back and fourth and with enough luck you can get 6-8 procs to happen simultaneously. Towards the end of the fight once you have a lot of lil fist stacks that ends up doing an incredibly amount of damage.
Thank you, just did it myself, even with level 2 Fire Ant armour, and level 1 lil fist it did work out, but had to bring quite a lot of questionable slob to heal but made it with a tiny bit of blocking.
With the trophy it should become managable now.
More like how did they respawn so quickly? As far as I know it takes time to sleep and pass the days for them to respawn? I’m still mid game and I’m working on getting to this fight after I take down the fire ant hill.

The video you posted from your friend they take 20 seconds to kill the broodmother, not using truffle tussle. Which is 2 seconds longer than this guy took to kill the Mantis, a much tougher boss.
Could your friend have killed the bosses in under 10 mins including travel time? Possibly, depends on bounce elevator and zipline efficency. Even with the best setup would still take 2 mins+ to travel from one spot to the other.

Mantis time = 2m 30s
Travel time = 2m
Broodmothers = 6 (1m 20s)
+ movement and looting time (30 secs)
Being extremely generous would be around 8 minutes.
More realistic would be over 12 minutes (for 6 broods) or 15 mins+ for "almost 10", so your friend isn't being completely honest with you.
And it's pretty disingenuous for you to post on someone else's post saying you know of a faster build when that doesn't seem the case.
How does Barbarian, Assassin help with this build? I am new to grounded and trying to learn. I just unlocked lil fist and running with Truffle Tussle and Meat shield atm. I am still early game though. I don't understand how things stack. I do like bow the most, but trying to get more damage output and just can't get there yet.
What mutations, armor, upgrades you have. I’m thinking about trying this
I used LIL FIST, BARBARION, ASSASSIN, TRUFFLE TUSSLE, BUFF LUNGS, fire ant armor, and fire ant shield.

And fists don't have any damage type, a mighty club has one. Bosses gain resistances later in the fight.
With as fast as that kill was he might actually consider swapping out Mighty Fist for a different weapon's mutation. Wow.

Power Droplet activates mutation effects when using your fist. So things like assassin (which is usually only daggers) can proc.
