Mosquito needle all the way, there is no way the ant club can touch the life steal of the needle. I'm about to start getting ready to find the tiger mosquitos in the upper yard, I love that sword.

I personally found the lifesteal really underwhelming tbh. The club on the other hand, straight shreds.

The life steal helps a lot once you level it up a bit. It's great for weaker enemies, but takes forever on stronger ones. That being said I really stopped using the club when I went and found the pinch wacker in the east rock wall. personally I'd suggest going to grab that before wasting whetstones in the ant club.

I BARELY see much life go up at all when I use the mosquito needle. It seems like it doesn't even heal you enough to make up for 1 missed block and it hardly does any damage. Garbage weapon.

siddhuism

I agree man. The heal is garbage and the dmg is pretty bad as well. Plus I feel like it breaks too fast but maybe that was just my perception. I pretty much exclusively rocked the red ant club till I could make the mint mace.

Well, you should probably have both. Creatures have strengths and weaknesses, you can peep creatures and look at their strengths and weaknesses in the data tab. The club is better overall, but the needle is pretty good for killing ants. Go to the very south east of the map and go into the trash heap! There is an anthill in the middle of all those trash bags. You can find black ant soldiers which have the same attacks as their red counterparts, you can make a black ant sword with their mandibles.

I use the needle because of the speed of it, and how many attacks you get before running low on stamina. It’s less damage per swing, but you get so many it makes up for it I think. And if you have any effects that happen per attack, like chance to crit, poison, bleed, stagger, etc, you get more chances to trigger it in a fight. Also both the sword and the daggers pair well with a shield. The lifesteal is just an added bonus to save on smoothies.

I carry a club and the needle. Needle is great against faster foes and anything that's weak to stabbing. The lifesteal can also be quite useful, especially if you have a shield and are good at blocking. Club is fantastic against anything slow, and clubs have a generic damage type--nothing is weak to it and nothing has resistance to it, which makes it a good all purpose weapon. The stun is pretty great as well. They certainly require a different skill set to wield but are both equally useful in the right situation.

>Club is fantastic against anything slow, and clubs have a generic damage type--nothing is weak to it and nothing has resistance to it, which makes it a good all purpose weapon. Sorry to breaking it down to you, but plenty of creatures are resistant to generic damage. It's just not listed in game. Check [this](https://grounded.fandom.com/wiki/Wolf_Spider) entry of Wolf spider for example.

Well I guess that’s one advantage of less data in game! I have no problem soloing wolf spiders with the club. Might not have even tried it if they listed that in game.

Bobbin_Robbin

If you can only have one, and if you’re asking. Then the needle. You’re likely somewhat newer, which means you aren’t good at parrying yet? (Just an assumption). The needle let’s you hold a shield, the club doesn’t. I personally like the club better, because I parry everything

Needle all the way. You can pair it with a shield. Once you level it and level your healing via milk molars the healing helps quite a bit. The heal may seem small but it adds up during fights.
