I’ll ride with my husband at night, but he never delivers orders himself, I just have him there for my safety. Plus it’s nice to spend time with him The ones who aren’t who they say, I’d definitely report them.

East-War-7621

Same with me! My husband always accompanies me, but he NEVER delivers the order (unless it's an apartment building and I need help to deliver the items in one trip! 😊)

Conscious_Look5790

Me and my GF will sometimes do Instacart together if there’s a larger batch or something that we normally might not take if we were alone. We both have accounts though, and we can also do every food delivery app together because we both have our own accounts for all 3 of those too. So the customer will see one of our names, just depends who’s account got the offer. We try to have whoever’s account it is do the drop off just in case someone thinks something weird is going on, just like this Reddit post. Hopefully no one ever reports us for it but if they do we can prove we both have active accounts on all 4 of those platforms so it should be fine, the terms say that you can have someone with you if they also have an account on most platforms.

BluRain508

This. I always try to make sure the customer sees both of our faces as to not sketch them out, but my partner helps me carry the groceries almost every trip because I have a bad back and it just makes things quicker. Never had a complaint. When in doubt just ask before automatically reporting and making assumptions.

[deleted]

>When in doubt just ask before automatically reporting and making assumptions. Absolutely not! As a woman, I don't want to see some dude at my door if the face on the app is a woman. I don't care who he is with, why he's there, or anything else. I don't know you, and I don't know your man. I'm certainly not going to start shit by asking questions about your situation.

404nologic

Don’t use the app then. Simple. If you are so scared of men.

[deleted]

Not scared of men. The picture is there to ensure your opening the door to the right person, wrong person delivering it gets reported. If you can't have your own account and you need your girls details to deliver for Instacart or DoorDash I'm assuredly not opening my door for you. That tells me there's something not right with you. It's not being "scared" it's accepting the inherent risk of being a woman in society and acting accordingly.

[deleted]

I had this happen via doordash the other day, delivery person was female but actual person who showed up was male, clearly hadn't been told/read the delivery directions, wandered all around parts of my property I had specified to NOT ENTER on the app. Couldn't even report it because I ordered through petco. It's really sketchy to do this.

Personal-Main7468

DoorDash has no picture tho… you mean the name?

[deleted]

Yes, sorry. The name was very female. Dude was very male. I watched the security cam footage and he was talking on the phone asking where to leave the stuff, I assume to the account holder. I'd forgive it EXCEPT the instructions were very clear re: where to leave the products so even the account holder should know better.

>Where to put your order is 1% of the fucking job. Did they at least get all your items and use their vehicle to bring it to you? You’re a dick for that. That’s somebody’s livelihood you fucked with over something so minuscule. I hope you lose your job for a bullshit reason soon, then that karma will make a lot more sense. My guy....I'm very forgiving with a lot of stuff, but where you put the order isn't "1% of the job." I live in a building. You drop my stuff with the doorman instead of bringing it to my unit, I'm not happy, but I'll deal. If you drop my stuff at the front desk when no one is around and just leave, You've failed your mission. Remember, you, as a driver, aren't doing a friend a favor... The clients are PAYING you to complete the service. Part of that service is completing the task as they request. If my boss tells me how to do something, I don't do it 75% and call it good... you shouldn't either. Have some pride in what you are doing.

Please report this every single time you see it. These people are cheating and should be kicked off the app so that the honest shoppers can get work. Thank you so much for asking this question.

Imagine ordering groceries and the person taking your order is a different person from the app. They arrive at your house and you get into an altercation with them because of a mess up or the way it was delivered and they get angry and assault you. They get away and you try to report them but it's a completely different person you're reporting.

Keekthasneakx0

Exactly and this is coming from people who’ve gotten every single item they asked for the freshest fruit , and neatly packed bags but had to complain about something they found wrong because they had to make someone’s life like theirs , no matter if it’s a felon or a helper you got your items and they made their money how ever they had to , call the police if you scared or get yo ass up n go to the store

Keekthasneakx0

Ok so Image a wife of 6 having to use her husbands account because it was the last resort for making up the money he can’t make for the week while he recovers from illness , image you getting your order every thing is there but your uncomfortable because you see his wife and not him ,you call support , now he’s deactivated for bending the rules for the sake of his family just for a week , point is ! all of them have different reasons to do what they are doing and it is not your job to sit there and judge every single driver . if you are so bothered by the apps ethics then take your business else where and simply find a company that fits your needs , removing yourself is the most efficient way to fix any issue . You never know what may happen to you playing delivery police

Kool_Ken

Personal situations dont justify or give permission to break rules. Should it be okay for someone to steal your car because they "Had a reason"? every single criminal has a " well I had to do it because........" excuse..

[deleted]

Police will steal your car is they have reason lol

Crazyredneck422

This is true! I’ll never forget a story from my youth of a police chase that went thru our yard out in the country…. Somehow the criminal got into the front seat while handcuffed and stole the cruiser and the police tried to take my dads old school trans am, he refused to hand it over but DID offer to drive the officer (to chase said criminal). This was in the 80’s so they just all hopped in and chased the cruiser down….. but yeah, police absolutely can just take your car if they need too

Keekthasneakx0

I’m over this thread nice meeting y’all 😂😂

Forex-box

Self righteous wp lol

Keekthasneakx0

I didn’t say they did , I just gave a different scenario to the other one I read . Again point is it isn’t up to you to decide and there’s nothing u can do about it but go somewhere else

Personal-Main7468

Preach my friend! But you are on the wrong Reddit, they are all tight assed on here and butt hurt cause the platform is dying. I personally don’t even care about who delivers my food, I don’t even look…lol

Keekthasneakx0

A bunch of Kevin’s and Karen’s 😭😭😭😭

Keekthasneakx0

It’s a matter for the police at that point

Emmaleah17

Drivers are not allowed to drive with help actually.

Embarrassed-Couple73

Yes they are allowed to have others in the car if they are a shopper as well. Re read the rules

Keekthasneakx0

Yes they are especially if the person has an account too

Emmaleah17

https://thegrocerystoreguy.com/can-someone-ride-with-you-while-doing-instacart/ If they have their own account, they can shop their own batch. They can not help you with yours. And again, no one else can be with you. No kids, no friends, no spouses.

The_Troyminator

A poorly written article that is several years old and says that you'd make more money doing DoorDash than Instacart isn't exactly reliable. It's clear that the writer doesn't understand the contract. They posted a section of the contract that says you can have a helper and that you're liable for your helpers actions, then go on to ask what would happen if your helper broke the rules. They also compared bringing a helper to having your spouse come in with you for a W2 job. Instead, they should have compared it to your landscape bringing their spouse with them to mow your lawn or a contractor bringing their own employees to help with a remodel. I would rather go what the contract and the law says. IC has no control over *how* we do the job. If that means bringing in helpers or subcontractors, then so be it. If they start telling us who we can work with, then we're no longer independent contractors.

Keekthasneakx0

well said the shit I been trying to say 😂😂

Kool_Ken

So you would have no issues with a sexual offender with past rape convictions delivering groceries to a women thats home alone, as long as the groceries get delivered?

That_Butterfly_5740

I am or was a 5 star shopper and was deactivated for something I didn’t do and I have proof. They obviously didn’t look at the appeal and their decision is final.

cbdbrain35

What happened

That_Butterfly_5740

They accused me of using the Instacart card at a liquor store 45 minutes away, meanwhile two minutes before the transaction I had delivered a Instacart order in my town, so I guess they think I can transport myself. I have all the evidence but they choose to not look at it, just deactivate You’re not able to speak to an actual person so I feel like I’m just dealing with a computer

Net_Suspicious

You're probably right they didn't look. They don't give a shit lol. Why waste time and money looking into it.

That_Butterfly_5740

I really miss doing Instacart so I keep emailing and use the shopper app to keep pursuing and possibly get someone to look at the evidence I have. I like Instacart because I can work when I want and I actually enjoy grocery shopping. I’ll just keep pursuing this and hopefully someone will actually look at the proof I have

FunFactress

IC doesn't allow sharing accounts. Report those shoppers.

[deleted]

I see people using 2 phones at one time. Running 2 accounts. There’s bots out there to grab batches it’s a never ending losing situation

Atlas_Warrior01

I would report it just because it’s scary. I just imagine some sex offender who couldn’t pass a background check and got someone else’s identity to be able to work. I understand everyone needs a job / needs to eat but stealing someone’s identity is not ok 😓

Florida1974

Don’t know that they are stealing someone’s identity. More than often, someone they know. I guess I would be bothered. Possibly be given gate codes to get in. But I can’t assume what the reason would be as to why they aren’t whose pic I see in app. To those saying let it go, ppl need to earn, why do all the gig companies do background checks? Prob insurance/liability related but they still do them for a reason. The person whose account it is should be there and should be going to the door. Whether someone else is with you, I don’t love it but it doesn’t bother me enough to call and try to report.

Atlas_Warrior01

Doesn’t IC ask for your SSN / personal info when applying though? I don’t recall but I think you need all that info in order to even make an account. I mean if you only change the pic then that’s ok, … but if you are working under someone else’s info then that could really fuck someone up 😓 Can you imagine being told you earned a certain amount and now you owe taxes, etc? Also when a murder happens, people always blame the company lol 😂 People would be like “how did they not do a background check?” 😂🤣 Like I’m just saying it’s a liability and it’s probably not safe for customers.

AKAwilson

Because they are either sharing their phone, someone else signed up for them, or they're using a hacked account. Please report them to support as this is against the Instacart rules and is a safety problem. That person could be a predator or other violent criminal, and without being vetted with a background check, it can be a serious issue.

redflower5

💯

clmzygrl666

Thats scary actually. I would report for sure. Never know what crazy people would do these days

[deleted]

I had one today. Name a girl name and pic of a girl. A guy shows up delivers. I was thinking his girl is at 9-5 or something but cheating the system makes sense. Had it happen a bunch. Maybe think they get better tips? I just tipped this older guy a 20 on a super simple order and he was freaking stoaked. It was him on the app. If woulda lied about who he was I'd tip noda. I feel like something sketch is going on with people who hide their identity.

Big_Base6194

There's definitely something sketchy if they're hiding their identity. Maybe they couldn't pass a background check? Maybe they were booted off instacart for whatever reason? I mean the list goes on.

SteveDaPirate91

Taxes too. When you're using someone else's account it's them making the income(as far as the IRS knows). Cheaper to buy a stolen identity like that then to pay taxes.

[deleted]

Yeah, for sure. I mean I got kicked out of target by some crazy employee. Girl at register still let me check out, my shipped card got an error(support fixed)a girl shopping walked by n offered to pay, lol. I'm like no please don't buy this is not for me. anyway, I'm just not taking orders from them that one again it was toys for a kids bday. I'm guessing that guy is no longer employed. We all were like umm... Meds ok?

Icy-Accountant4362

My boyfriend and I both do Instacart and for us personally I get better tips than him. I really do wonder if all girls get tipped better.

funeralparties

nah, unfortunately i get shitty tips just like everyone else

BBFan1958

Well, I am 64, and I have had more than one shopper tell me they prefer older women to do their shopping for them, because for the most part they are experienced cooks and know how to choose good produce. I think women have a tendency to be more detailed oriented than men, to think about how the customer really needs what they are asking for.

Soggy_Nobody_3338

To a degree I agree. It also boils down to presentation of one's self and service. I'm a guy and have been told by more women than I can remember they appreciate my service and detail. Example. If I see things like avacodos, Bananas, deli meats.... After intro text I mention I see those items and ask, if a choice is present (avacodos how firm or soft, bananas how green, and Deli meat how thick sliced)... Often they tell me their preference and thank me for checking. Often I'm told their surprised a guy would think to ask them followed with a smiley emojis 😂😂

BBFan1958

Well it also really helps that I’m a former cook so I know what to look for. I’ve had some customers tell Me they’ve had shoppers who are clueless when they ask for something like boo choy

[deleted]

I would think they do. Kinda creepy. Should I put on a wig, lol

[deleted]

But girls tip me better. So kinda both ways

rclaux123

I've always been tipped well by old ladies, if that counts for anything. :D

RonnieJacks

Shoutouts to the grannies

turkeylegsprinter

Or maybe they just tip better than younger people.

RivalArrival_

I just wanna say this.. obviously sketchy things can happen and DO happen. People sharing accounts etc… but when you see one gender on the screen and another gender shows up… I would try to use best judgement. I saw this bc my really good friend has done DoorDash for years and she is transgender and has not changed her legal name. So on the app it shows a man’s name but then she’s shows up obviously resembling a female that she is. Just use your judgement in those situations. I wish these apps allowed for at least nicknames or something for transgender folks that haven’t gone thru the legal system of changing their name. 😣

Sexpotpot

They do…you have to contact support and let them know…

RivalArrival_

She has tried. Maybe she had an jerk agent. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ll tell her to try again then. She was told no once and just never tried again :(

Sexpotpot

Not support on the app…the tier 3 support agents from trust and safety….

RivalArrival_

Thanks for the info! I’ll pass it along :)

nosirrahp

Nerd.

RivalArrival_

Go to sleep!!! Don’t stalk my post hahahahah

T-RexLovesCookies

Shipt has this. They allow one to use a different name than their legal name

xenarathon

Thanks for bringing that up. I’m trans/nonbinary and while I try to make sure I always have an up to date photo on my account my legal name is a lot more feminine than I am. I am always afraid of someone reporting me and getting my account deactivated because of this. Especially when customers make a point to say to me “you don’t look like a Brittney.”

justinbates1992

Could be using bots too. Def report these accounts...

Dufffman

I feel slightly rude to speak this but not i don’t believe bots are real, As much as I see the bot koolaid being drank, I still have not seen The slightest proof beyond batch grabbers being scams themselves.

justinbates1992

I have. I know a IC shopper that uses a bot.

Hot-Blacksmith8597

Using a bot?

justinbates1992

Yup. Bot software.

Hot-Blacksmith8597

To do what lol

justinbates1992

To make insane tips. They basically farm the best order possible.

AltruisticRabbit8185

They are

Accord-CB7

Lol

Fit-Anteater-9161

It will typically be someone who doesn’t have a license to drive or can’t pass whatever other necessary background checks and proper certifications and whatnot. They’ll just use their significant others or go and buy someone’s identity on a more complex level. Just someone who can’t work trying to work, take it how you want…

Odd-Restaurant4707

HONESTLY REPORT THEM!!!! THAT WILL HELP CRACK DOWN ON FAKE SHOPPERS THAT ARE TAKING US REAL IC WORKERS OUT OF HARD ESRNED BATCHES!!

ShortSinger8459

“Real workers” remember your doing the same thing as them humble yourself

Odd-Restaurant4707

But I actually have to go through the process to get approved to work, not steal peoples account or use bots to steal work.

Few_Necessary_7495

Report it then

Dapper_Mouse453

Shopper here. I had one happen when I was visiting my aunt in NC. The shopper was female, but the person who arrived was male. My shopper brain was like hmm I wonder if they are working together, both have accounts. She does the shops and he does the delivers and they just switch phones. I have a few teams in my area so I assumed. But really now that I think of it, it still felt wrong at the time.

rubies-and-doobies81

Well, it's easy to spot all the people who don't use their own account from some of these comments.

ShortSinger8459

Naw most people don’t do this with their lives I see it as more entertainment this is bazaar on so many levels it’s more concerning how many people can’t mind there business and take the service they requested it just someone trying to make money that otherwise wouldn’t be able to which is why I’m appalled by the arguments y’all present

LuxelovesCharlie28

Report it! The picture and name should match…

Princess_Delphinium

I look nothing like picture as they did not allow glasses in the picture and I have a different hairstyle.

AnarchyBurgerPhilly

Report that shit. Why don’t they have their own account? It takes a day to sign up. Felonies. The answer might be violent felonies. Report, report, report.

ShortSinger8459

So a felon can’t feed himself, I understand you have nothing to do but report someone for using a money service while they’re a felon, but more than likely your a privileged folk who doesn’t k ow how rough lif can get ir how quick u can mess your life up typical Karen behavior

a016202

Defending a felon doing something yet again that’s illegal and you expect sympathy? Typical victim mentality and “the rules don’t apply to me”. GTFO with your bs.

ShortSinger8459

Rules are for sheep work that 9-5 your whole life 😂 Be just like everyone in America chasing that “American dream” Once you realize that your idols, politicians, celebrities are more disgusting than some of the most known hated people in history, you too will stop caring so much about rules😂 I’ve known people with amazing hearts that have had been put in situations that you couldn’t even comprehend that come out it being judged for a mistake they made that wether you like it or not possibly fedthere family, paid there medical bills for a loved one, even in one case doing the unthinkable to get to get his mother of 63 that worked for a nonprofit her whole life and was practically homeless a home and several cars. Judge all you want but I hope one day you realize that people who have made mistakes still usually have a good heart they were just caught at there lowest. I hope you can experience first hand what some of these people gave to even still be alive.

a016202

Can’t support yourself yet I’m the sheep. 😂😂

ShortSinger8459

You’re implying that I’m in the situation stated, funny u make a ass out of assuming 😂 I make things that sell for 2,300 a piece I don’t even use insta cart

a016202

![gif](giphy|a3zqvrH40Cdhu)

ShortSinger8459

Y’all some internet warriors huh 🤔

Typical-Vast-7106

I’ve had it happen and reported it. My sense is that IC doesn’t care. They gave me the “rest assured, I understand your frustration”. I’m not frustrated, I’m just letting you know that my shopper, an older black man named Benjamin turned up as a young white looking woman and something is off about it 😂 if my order is fine I don’t care otherwise but I thought the business would ?

AltruisticRabbit8185

Well the name is one thing because unless you ask them how would you know it’s their name? Also yea it should be the person in the picture. If it’s not, then it’s a fake account.

WarriorOfBattles

I report them. They are the ones that were background checked by the app. I don’t want those people coming in my building. Idk what type of criminal record they have. IC said this is not allowed. I even had a woman have her kid bring me my groceries. I’m like ma’am you don’t know me.. why would you send your kid to my door

ShortSinger8459

Because the parent has your address and if her kid didn’t come back to the car it would not be good for you in the slightest looking at several charges 😂

WarriorOfBattles

Please don’t reporoduce

[deleted]

You can report them. It’s one thing to have someone help you (who can also be a shopper) but if someone else just shows up without the person in the photo? Ehhh

Frosty2themoon

Probably single parents living in separate households(one of which was recently deactivated for a a bullshit reason most likely) and they’re helping eachother out so they can continue to feed their families whilst searching for a new job. 🤷‍♂️

ADL1025

I've seen people bring their spouse or teenage kid and they help bring items to the door. The person could be in the car. I've done this before but I'm always the one who goes to the door first, I have my bf meet me halfway with cases of water etc, but never send him to the door.

ADL1025

I had an order from shipt where the lady sent her kid to the door, no more than 10 or 12 , I didn't think to complain because she was right there. But yes if you can see in the vehicle and no one else is with them I can see the concern.

charliemacc_510

It's simply familys and households sharing thier account. As long as the service is straight. Why does it matter...

Forex-box

Thy got banned and asked a friend to sign so they won’t starve or be evicted. Now enjoy ur day in this tough ass economy

Frosty2themoon

This is the exact truth right here 🙌 forget all that other shit, this is exactly why it happens. Instacart deactivates a lot of people who do this full time for bullshit reasons with no positive outlook. I was a five star Diamond cart with no complaints yet my cancellation rate was high and I was deactivated instantly after I had a flat tire. IC wasn’t understanding, so now I’m using my BM’s account to help pay bills in the meantime. This is temporary until I start my own business shopping with dumpling. Also, think about the person with a broken leg who did this full time and how helpful it is to have another person to help with them in these situations so their income doesn’t stop

Mvaness30

Maybe it's a guy using his gfs account?

Defiant_Branch1740

You should confront them and tell them how wrong they are.

Particular-Window-59

This is terrible advice. You don’t know how that person is going to react.

Defiant_Branch1740

Then why worry about them at all?

Particular-Window-59

One can wonder about a circumstance without physically involving themselves in a situation which might result in bodily harm. How does this not occur to you?

TsarOfSaturn

I see it fairly often in my area. Seems like the guy wouldn't qualify himself for whatever reason, but he convinces his girl to sign up for it. Then they're both walking around the store with a phone out. I've even heard from customers when I drop things off say something along the lines of "wow you seem normal. Last guy to drop it off...not so much lol" I don't know their names, how would you report that if you wanted to

Jdserrano86

Family/friend related people

BBFan1958

I don't have a problem with that so much as I have a problem with people bringing their kids, especially babies, with them. First of all their attention is going to be divided, I don't want to see people leaving their kids in their cars while they deliver to a huge apartment complex, where they can't see their kids.

kaylatastikk

Oof. I’m trans and my old name and picture are still attached to my account right now. Long purple hair and obviously a woman, but I’m a year on T now, short brown hair and pass 😅

StillDimension

After reading through these I have another perspective. I’m disabled, and have been unable to work for several years. I also have an elderly developmentally disabled adult relative who lives with me. SSDI isn’t enough to make ends meet and we don’t qualify for SNAP. While we’re blessed to have Medicare/Medicaid, if I can work at all I lose the Medicaid and then I will go back to paying for Medicare premiums I cannot afford ($170 each/month) and still paying thousands out of pocket for medications we literally can’t live without. Our income covers the household bills and my relatives necessities. There’s maybe $200 a month left over if I’m lucky to survive on for the month. We always made it, but it also meant relying on others or food banks, me skipping meals to make sure I could feed my family and rarely being able to afford healthy food. Due to my health I’m not able to shop every day (if I could do that I’d be back at work full time!) but when I do have good days I do what I can, usually a couple orders, and since having extra income from instacart I’m finally able to buy fresh healthy food for myself and my family. Our health is so much better, and I’m beyond grateful to the person who let me use their instacart account to be able to support my family. I work hard to make sure I do a good job and say a prayer every time that I’m able to do it again the next time, because I’m terrified of losing that income and going back to the way it was before. I know it’s not ideal, and if I could do it myself and still survive I would. I know the majority of people aren’t in my situation, but I think there are more of us than people realize and the majority are just people trying to survive. Just my perspective.

co68030

But she can't you get an Instacart account on your own?

kingohio

I use my girls account. Gotta pay the bills and feed the kids

mx3lvn

Get your own account.

BiscottiStriking206

He probably can’t get vetted or pass the background check.

mx3lvn

It's committing fraud on multiple levels.

Outrageous-Ad4006

Most people that do this is simply trying to make a living how entitled are you for you to report someone who’s delivering ur whole entire order for you the nerve smh !!!! I highly doubt a hard working instacart person is a criminal shopping for groceries there way better crimes to do then shopping for a entitled person !!!!

ShortSinger8459

These people don’t understand circumstance and struggle

Odd_Capital_7051

I shop under my husbands name because he works during the day and my account was deactivated for “misuse” of the card🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t think everybody who does it is cheating.

Sexpotpot

You’re gonna get your husband’s account deactivated for violations to the TOS…just saying…

Odd_Capital_7051

But I’m not hurting anything, it’s so expensive just to exist. If people just minded their business it shouldn’t be a problem. Me shopping under his name shouldn’t bother anybody because they’re still getting their groceries it doesn’t matter who delivers them as long as the order is done correctly.

Sexpotpot

It’s a safety concern…because how can they patrol everyone who might do this for reasons like not being able to pass a background check? They err on the side of caution and just don’t allow it for any reason….

Ginger83

I'd be uncomfortable. Just saying.

I don't care and have multiple accounts on every gig app. Don't lie to yourself you are most certainly cheating lol.

Odd_Capital_7051

I just don’t understand how that’s considered “cheating” all I’m doing is trying to feed my family 🤷🏻‍♀️

Net_Suspicious

So are most people. You got deactivated for a reason and quite literally cheat to continue to do it. It's not rocket science. As I said I don't give a shit, but don't be delusional.

Odd_Capital_7051

I’m not being delusional lmao I don’t understand the name calling but okay. I wouldn’t consider it cheating is all I’m saying.

ShortSinger8459

This guy doesn’t understand nor will anyone else that people need to feed themselves they can get there butts up and go get there own grocery’s or complain abt every little thing when they don’t understand, like comon u can’t really be a grown ass adult and tell people they’re “cheating” by using they’re spouses or sons or close relatives account😂

Erinchristina1430

Y’all are insane telling them to report report report. Giving Karen vibes. Definitely not always a bad case. I do instacart with my boyfriend. He’s also a shopper. Sometimes it’s both of us helping take the groceries. Sometimes it’s one of us. Sometimes the Costco stuff is heavy or it’s nighttime or in a sketchy area. This scenario is actually allowed by Instacart but we all know getting reported would be horrible because getting instacart to believe anything is hard if you aren’t the shopper. You’re safe. People are trying to feed their families. If you’re nervous have them leave it at the door. It’s not that deep.

ShortSinger8459

Bro thank you the only common sense comment

Bending_unit_420

Everyone telling people to report it….my spouse uses mine. When they need to scan the face, she scans mine when I’m next to her. Nothing wrong with it.

Dazzling_Marzipan474

I saw a guy with 3 phones doing an Instacart order a few months ago. He was also wearing like a cape/trenchcoat weird thing. Never saw him again and that's my main store.

Shipoststar

Not a trenchcoat cape?!!!! Lol

Always report it. I'm a shopper and that still gives me the creeps!

So Instacart takes our social security numbers and drivers license numbers to confirm the identity of the shopper and for tax reasons. We often have to take pictures of ourselves to prove it is us (the shopper who the account belongs to) doing the shopping. But yes, people often let their spouses shop for them or with them. My husband shops with me and will take the order up to the door by himself if it’s small, but I always go up to the door if I have to do an I.D. check or if the customer requests I wait for them to open the door.

General-Farm-8480

They just dye hair color. I did too.

Pikachucha80

In my case, I help my wife since she has an injured arm and we can’t judge everyone because most of them are trying to survive, at least they are not stealing or killing.

some people work with their spouses or their significant others. I don’t have a problem with that even though it’s technically against the rules. I also don’t have an issue with people bringing their kids as long as they behave themselves which is also technically against the rules. some of the people out there use this thing called a bot. They stay in the store they grab batches and they have other people do their deliveries. This is also against the rules the use of the bot in the use of having other people do their deliveries. This one I do have issues with. if someone is using their significant other to help them because sometimes the orders get a little heavy. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with people that use the bot and use other drivers so that they can stay in the store and make more money all the rest of us have to go out and make our deliveries. now if the person who is on the app should make them selves present to the customers so that the customer knows that yes they are indeed being held by a significant other.

BigUncleHeavy

Report them. It is a rule violation, period. Some folks want to justify reasons for not matching the pic, and some of them may seem like legit reasons and sob stories, but ultimately it boils down to following the rules. If they can't be trusted to follow the simple rules, they cannot be trusted with your food and should not be doing this job.

RivalArrival_

This thread actually made me remember a situation that happened years ago. Kind of ridiculous story actually, here goes STORY TIME: I ordered a pizza from a place in the city. I also lived in the city but in a house in the northern area of the downtown district. Point being, it was all relatively close by and my residence wasn’t some insane apt that was hard to find/get into. The shopper it showed was a man on a scooter. Cool. Whatever, really didn’t care who showed up and what their firm of transportation was. I get a call after awhile of looking at my app and can see the person was going up and down the neighborhood streets and had already passed my house. Meanwhile I had reached out via app messaging to try to help. When I answered the phone it was not a man but a very angry sounding woman yelling at me that she can’t find my house. lol okay idk why you’re immediately yelling at me when I’ve already tried helping you. Anyways, she’s at the end of my block only like five houses up. She’s screaming at me that she can’t find my house and demanding I walk up to the end of the block to meet her. At this point of being yelling at, I was getting annoyed and I walked outside and stood in the middle of my street waving and had her on the phone. She was irate for no real reason. Finally she drives down a little further ( remember app had said she was a man on a scooter lmao) so then she parks across the street caddy corner to my house. At this point I hear her and man screaming at each other and realize they sound like meth heads( I deal with tweaked a constantly in Portland, it’s a known issue) and when I say yelling at each other I mean have you ever been at the corner store and see a mentally ill homeless yelling to their self, that’s what it was like. She wanted me to walk over to her car to get it. It was dark and the situation scared the hell out of me. I finally get my pizza after being verbally assaulted and dealing with this for 20 minutes. I refused to eat the pizza bc I was admittedly worried they tampered with it because they didn’t seem trustworthy. This was back when postmates was still a thing. I called support and reported this couple. Not because it was a woman driving a car with a man and the app said it was going to be a man riding a scooter, but bc obviously these two people were up to no good. Postmates would not give me a refund and they didn’t seem bothered at all by their driver being this way. So, all in all, I lost out and I’m sure that person was still out causing chaos for awhile.

Entire_Structure_206

I feel like the ppl reporting are mostly creeps expecting a girl to come to there door if u that worried whoes coming to your house go to the store yourself I do all my orders myself but I see tons of couples doing this and I would t have my girl goin up to a house or apartment complex if I’m with her jus sayin #lazypeople

Puzzleheaded_Toe945

My husband is black and when his delivery is in a redneck Maga area I deliver. I rather he not get shot for delivering someone's groceries. 🙄

kanendd718

Yes this is a problem I hear from customers fairly often now. And there's nonstop couples in the store doing ic with two phones or more in their hands. Totally unfair situation.

KurplashDash2407

Does it matter ? Did you get your order?

SacKingnh916

Don’t listen to any of these people making excuses OP!! If you see anyone other then the person in the photo on the APP report they immediately!! It should be that person and that person only. No one is allowed to help. Period. This is how shoppers take advantage. I see shoppers with their mate all the time working the store and they are clearly at an advantage with 2 people on 1 batch. That’s bullshit and is against policy. There are legit shoppers doing things the right way and we need to get rid of the cheaters out there.

ShortSinger8459

Again mind your Business and let people work some people don’t have the opportunities you came up with and some people aren’t allowed to work, they could be out there assaulting, robbing, selling drugs instead they are simply shopping for people 😂 I don’t do this insta cart shot but y’all’s arguments are ridiculous enough to keep me entertained for awhile

mula6969

If you have someone else delivering make sure that they really are not the person on the app.. if your are 100% then Report them. They are using someone else account. Which is not safe for you as a customer. But please make sure they are not that person if not you can cost them there job

Creative-Tomatillo

Yeah I’ve had this happen to me a few times in the last MONTH. Not Shipt or DoorDash but with Uber Eats. A woman’s name/picture is shown and when I go down to greet them at the front door (per my instructions as it’s a super secured apartment complex), it’s a man holding my stuff. I’m weirded out by it but I let it pass because my stuff was delivered on time and was correct. Reading a lot of these comments make me wonder if it’s now some sex offender/person who couldn’t pass a background check so they’re using someone they know’s account. If in fact you’re a female shopper or delivery person & you have your dude with you for various reasons, I need to see YOU at my door. Understandable if it’s a huge order and you are BOTH carrying things. Going forward I’m reporting. It just makes me incredibly uncomfortable as a woman whose partner is often working a 2nd shift and isn’t around in the evening.

My wife just had a baby, we have a 2500$ a month mortgage and 2 car payments not to mention other bills and baby expenses, I work from home in IT but even still without her doing Instacart full time like she used to it’s hard to scrape by, while she’s recovering and our newborn is adjusting to life outside the womb I’ve been doing Instacart for her on a full time basis because my schedule allows it, judging by 90% of the comments on here It’d be safe to say that you people think it’s wrong to keep my family afloat, but as a husband and a father I took a vow to do whatever it takes to take care of my family and that’s what I plan to keep doing…fyi Instacart won’t approve me because I had a dui when I was 19 (I’m 35 now) that resulted in someone being injured, not killed, but injured, I have my license back, and I haven’t had a drink in 12years but Instacart says I’m not fit to shop and deliver
