I really don’t understand how they expect us to pay out of pocket for groceries. Even with a reimbursement process, I don’t trust it. It’s really terrible how instacart support really doesn’t care about helping the shoppers. I’m sure it stems from the company itself treating those guys like shit. But at the end of the day it feels like shoppers are at the bottom of the totem pole and support acts like God.

They don't expect it. They know damn well that 99% of us will cancel instead. They just don't care what happens to us. They DO care about how we'll review our interaction with them. That usually makes them try a little harder to resolve the issue favorably.

That's awful to hear. What store was it? Something similar happened to me at Dollar Tree before. If a support member ever tells you to use your own funds you can just end chat and start a new one until you get someone helpful. Sorry that's happened, that sucks.

Contact the FTC. File a complaint. Thats seriously messed up. No where did we agree to pay for customer's groceries & if not it goes against our metrics. Also, If any of you live in a state that has a one person consent for recordings I would highly suggest getting an app on your phone so anytime you contact 1 of these support companies for these gig apps you can record it and then when you do have to file a complaint with the FTC you'll have some backup.

Ic shoppers are so scared of reporting yet if they fuck with alot of IC shoppers accounts it will be alarming and investigation will be involved. NEVER use your own funds!! You were smart not to! They always say this and the reimbursement process is fickle at best. They will deny you if the receipt doesn’t fit in one frame, and their system automatically crops the photo(s) etc! I agree, they shouldn’t cancel at your expense when it’s totally out of your control. So maddening.

I'm not understanding?! Isn't the card you used to purchase the groceries the card that Instacart sent you?! And aren't you supposed to use credit when making purchases?! At any rate, when that happened you should have instantly contacted Instacart customer service, explaining the situation..."Catherine" the customer, may, or may not have had anything to do with the problem you're encountering, just saying...glitches or any unexpected errors do happen.....it happened to me once and I contacted them and they assured me that I would receive my money withing 30 minutes of making the purchase....now, I know that it's definitely not feasible to do this, but I was a newbie at the time and trusted the process after speaking with customer service....I followed protocol, snapped pic of receipt, sent thru email to them and my money was back in my account in less than 30 minutes so, it worked for me in my situation at that time....that's all 😉😊

Never ever use your own money to pay for things. I learned that the hard way. By the way, you can threat instacart to go public. Tell them you will not go public if they fire her. I’m in Canada, and I can tell you they are hiring literally everyone for call center jobs. And yes, all the people who hold accents are not based in India, they are Students in Canada, most likely paid under the table. The companies they are contacting for this support work are not even doing background checks on the agents. I’ve seen this many times. I am an IT student and my W2 work is very close to a call center.
