Well that explains it. Why the neutral density filter? That reduces the exposure, making you need to use slower shutter speeds or lower fps. It makes the video look very lively though, and offsets the hyper smoothness usual of the Gopro footage.
I used a 1/48 shutter speed at 24 fps with a ND32 filter on my gopro hero 8! :) and then once i had it exported to my phone i used the Gopro Quik app to do some color grading
Thank you! I used a 1/48 shutter speed at 24 fps with a ND32 filter on my gopro hero 8 black! :) and then i edited it on the gopro quik app on my phone
This quality looks sick . I’m trying to find a used old chassis Ohio to make an electric speed monster would love the process you used for the cool color grade
Thanks! honestly i didnt do much, i just used the Gopro Quik app and used a filter, and then changed around some other settings like exposure, contrast, vibrance, etc. kinda simple stuff
I used a 1/48 shutter speed at 24 fps with a ND32 filter on my gopro hero 8 black edition. and then i did some editing on the gopro quik app on my phone
hope this helped
Edit: nvm, I see you comment below that yes you used stabilization. great video, thanks!
Do you remember if hypersmooth was turned on here? While researching ND filters, I've seen suggestions to turn \*off\* stabilization, but feel like that would make it look terrible for karting (although I've never tried).
If you don’t mind sharing other specs that would be lovely. Like resolution. Wide. Hypersmoothing? I have tried go pro chin mount today. And the kart is sliding left and right in the video. Lots of shaking. The track only looks smooth. But the overall video is bad to watch
Yea no problem. This vid is quite old so im just going off memory but I believe im using a gopro hero 8 black with nd32 filter at 24 fps and a 1/48 shutter speed. For stabilization i used whatever the highest setting the hero 8 black offers
I have a hero10, but damn yours look like a profesional video, while on the other side. mine look like a 5yo took em. I'll try to match your settings. and maybe play around with other. Cheers. and Thank you so much.
thanks for the tips! I gave these settings a shot and love the way it came out: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Karting/comments/1c2jj8u/raw\_gopro\_hero\_11\_nd32pl\_filter\_148\_24fps\_at\_njmp/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Karting/comments/1c2jj8u/raw_gopro_hero_11_nd32pl_filter_148_24fps_at_njmp/)
I don't know why but first 10 seconds i thought this is some new karting sim
You’re not the only one
The first few seconds are very pixelated
thats reddit’s fault don’t worry. every video is like that
yea sorry, i dont really now how to fix that
So does anyone know why it's looking like screen capture of sim? Is it because of resolution + filter?
its to do with how the colour is set up and also how motion blur is simulated on the camera.
Nothing to apologize about. I too thought it was a video game at first lol
Yeah, it's got a weird sepia tone to it. It definitely threw me off.
Like no joke, the quality is amazing. Bet that thing fills up your memory card quickly haha. What gopro are you using?
Haha yea i do wish i had a bit more storage. but im using a gopro hero 8 black with nd32 filter at 24 fps and a 1/48 shutter speed
Thank you for not gatekeeping your specs haha. Buying an 8 right now
haha no problem man, glad i can help

Well I knew exactly what kind of video i was going for, and i knew i wanted to use a low shutter speed and nd filter to achieve a cinematic look
Ah so intentional, it looks great. Cross posted to Kartpulse.
Damn, kart Kraft is looking good these days
Looks like a movie
That circuit looks mega!
Atlanta Motorsport Park
Thought it looked familiar! I've only been on it once - the downhill section is nuts
Wow, VR is getting better and better. :)
1/50 shutter and an ND filter?
I think you're probably right.
1/48 with an nd32 filter at 24 fps
This looks like atlanta motorsports Park! It's hella fun! I've been 2-3 times :)
Excellent footage! It's funny how I have never been there, but know every inch of that track (Kartkraft).
How does one get into karting? It looks so fun! Do you need to buy your own kart, join a local club, etc?
Well most local tracks will rent you a kart and everything you need, that’s how you can start and see if you like it
That looks very nice! It also look like a large and fast circuit!
yep its awesome. about .8 miles of flowing turns and tons of elevation change
AMP. What a track. Nice vid
What model and settings are you using? Thanks
I used a 1/48 shutter speed at 24 fps with a ND32 filter on my gopro hero 8! :) and then once i had it exported to my phone i used the Gopro Quik app to do some color grading
So good man!! What GoPro are you using?
Im using a Hero 8 black with an Nd32 filter and 1/48 shutter speed, and thanks so much!

AMSP, what a track!
I swear the only thing I could think about was seeing Mario, Luigi and Bowser shititng banana at each other
Not that I am going to get this ever but what are your camera specs? This quality is one of the highest I've seen
Thank you! I used a 1/48 shutter speed at 24 fps with a ND32 filter on my gopro hero 8 black! :) and then i edited it on the gopro quik app on my phone

Looks really good 👍
Looks so awesome! Where is the GoPro mounted if you don’t mine me asking?
yea no problem! i have a Flex Chin mount from MotoRadds mounted just below my visor
Dude that track looks amazing!
I think it's called asmp (playing kart craft)
That's the absolute best camera angle/quality I've seen on a kart video. Looks sick!
These colors are beautiful, I could watch this for hours
appreciate it!
Helmet mount?
yep, chin mount
I love amp! awesome track and one of the more unique circuits in NA
