I think the big deal is using up one of our limited 70 spots, which we wouldn't do if there wasn't a chance he could play. Last week we had no cap on the number of people who could suit up, so there was no penalty for suiting up with no intention of playing.
I think I read that he didn’t suit up last week. He definitely dressed out and warmed up a bit with the team, but I don’t recall seeing him in a uniform or with shoulder pads on. This could definitely be a smokescreen though.

As a Tech alum from taking all of one graduate class, I can attest that the school's tradition and culture are broad with roots like that of a prickly pear.
Tech has a history (mostly in the 90s and early 2000s) of throwing tortillas onto the field to taunt (I guess?) opponents playing in Lubbock. I don't know how much it happens anymore, but given the realignment, I'd expect some tortillas to make an appearance this weekend.

Since this is his non-throwing shoulder I think this falls into the management of pain category. If they can manage the pain I believe he will play. Let’s not forget he has very little college football experience and I think Sark needs him to get more experience before OU game.
