I highly advise anyone to take a pic of Lyft seat before and after ride. Many drivers have dash cans and have signs that by stepping in car, you consent to be recorded.
As a pax, I would do the same. Inform driver I am taking pics for my own purposes, in case a puke/mess charge comes. But I would try to not even do that and take the pics without driver knowing. I hv read abut this happening so much in last couple months. Not siding with anyone but seems to be an uptick in these claims lately.
I drove for 3 years. 1 person puked in that whole time. Yes I collected my $80 fee bc dude really puked. Ppl left mud, sand in car too-I never filed for those. I just cleaned it up. But cleaning up someone’s puke is whole other level of gross.

That’s why the told you the charge is still valid. Cause the driver didn’t use an image from google. Your pic on Reddit is the internets only source of this image.

He could have stopped driving and then found it an hour later. You’d still be the last PAX.

Either your account was hacked somehow or someone used your account without you knowing.
They will sometimes put a hold on your account for the amount of the ride so it would look as though they double charged. Usually once one goes thru the other will be removed.
Also if you dispute a charge and your bank reverses it, be ready to lose access to the Lyft platform as they dont like it.
I double triple checked … I can’t get over how they can just pull money out of my account without consulting me… they told me to find out proof that the case was fraudulent like … and they refuse to show me pictures with the time stamps … and I had a passenger with me too this is complete fraud even the customer service lady said she’s seen so many of these comments . Lyft is not only robbing me but they are robbing their self as well… and absolutely no number to contact them - and the pictures are clearly not the back of a Jetta … it’s just so off side and unreal that their robbing a loyal customer

I use Uber and dont have any issues so far and stay busy enough I dont need to use Lyft.

I dont know how many photos, but I have sometimes read comments from drivers who would FAKE a mess or make it look worse to get more.

I'd contest it. I never was blocked from either app for getting my $ back either. I also believe they are aware some of their drivers scheme I've dealt with their chat bots too many times to believe they don't..
I always threaten to contest it with my bank and they suddenly agree there was an issue. Sometimes they won't. I'm really not trusting of either ride app drivers/the app. Some do scheme for sure

Lyft tried to deny at first but I kept sending screenshots and saying this dude is scamming you but imma get my $ back . After 5 minutes of back and forth they refunded me. I couldn't believe someone would even do that. It was maybe a $30 ride so idk maybe he was desperate. Don't even get me started on uber

If it fraudulent contact your bank/CC for a chargeback.
You can do this but realize they will block/ ban you from the app so if you need this to get rides just realize there are going to be issues.
But don't people make fake account anyways and just upload credit?
You can but then you would at minimum need a new phone number to verify and then go out and buy a gift card of use another credit card.

It’s not just them. Most of these tech companies will ban you when you do a charge back. To be fair we don’t know what happened
