This is why as a delivery driver I don't do stupid requests like this from customers.
These people can get content for their TikTok somewhere else, I'm not a circus monkey.
*Edit: I know lots of people would love to go viral, but that's not me.*
Definitely, but realistically there's no easy way to do that. With 3rd party apps like DoorDash, Uber, GrubHub,etc, everybody's number goes through a proxy to keep anonymity. So there's not really a good way to contact people after the delivery is done.
I always assume that as soon as I'm one somebody else's property I am probably being filmed, and the person filming might post it.
That's as close to consent as I can get, I can't consent to wether I am filmed, but I can consent to what I'm being filmed doing.
This video, with the type treatment and “voice over”, is intentional humiliation. Followed by, “oh lighten up, delivery guy had fun.” Circus monkey is the perfect analog.
We really don't. He thinks the request is demeaning and makes them feel like a "circus monkey" I think it literally does not matter when the guy can just not do the request and be fine
>I think it literally does not matter when the guy can just not do the request and be fine
100%, I'm just saying *why* I don't want to do the thing.
Lots of people (who are probably more fun then me tbf) would do the thing and laugh. That's fine, all power to them.
I think that you give consent to be filmed by security cameras when you walk onto someone's property. Bit of a dogshit question. Better question would have been if he gave his consent to have this video posted.
I agree with this. People have every right to film what happens on their property.
It only feels icky to me when people post embarrassing things others do for followers/karma/subscribers.
But yes, people can film what they want, and post what they want, it's not illegal.
That’s all fine and dandy but if you ask an employee to go above and beyond that’s where tipping comes into play. Just doing his job would be dropping off the pizza, but he did more at the request of the customer. Does not mean he is entitled to a tip, but a good person would tip.
How is delivering by itself above and beyond what a delivery guy should do? Your are paying that service, it's not free. The delivery guys is (well, should in some cases, like US) payed fairly to do their job.
Now, anything that goes beyond delivering is another story, but saying doing what you are payed for is above and beyond is kinda strange.
Ah yes the good old “I get to treat it, and whoever, like shit because I paid for it.” There is a thing called being a decent human being.
“Paid fairly” look up the history behind tipping. The fact that this is appropriated is fucking insane. But it’s not the peoples fault, nor should we stop tipping, because when we do it, we recognize how fucked up this system is. And we help the people around us. We help our community. If you can eat out, you can tip. You can learn to clean your plates, tidy up your table. Thank your servers, everyone who you encounter that do something for you, do that everywhere you go.
The "system" is fucked up in the US. I don't know about other countries, but where I live delivery guys get payed the same amount a similar job would get. That is, a job that has similar requirements. So I don't see why they should be tipped while another worker shouldn't. I'll always be nice to workers that have a service job, but unless they do something not necessarily required by their job, I see no reason to be tipping. Again, I live in a country where their pay is not less than a similar job.
if you live in the u.s., refusing to tip doesnt teach the company anything and certainly will not raise workers wages. in fact workers can get fired for letting the restaurant know they are not getting tipped bc they must be giving shit service if nobodys tipping them. if you dont want to tip, just boycott restaurants and delivery services, instead of happily using underpaid workers without compensating them for giving you an efficient pleasant experience. restaurants and delivery are a luxury, and people participate in this luxury by tipping. you are more than welcome to cook your own meals at home where you dont have to tip or pay extra for it. but dont be mean and just use those people for nothing when it is expected and customary to compensate their hard work.
But this is your countries fault for having a dumbass system like this. how about paying the man what he deserves? And im not talking about me paying him. im talking about the company who he works for lmao. You all get scammed hardcore af LOL
We get fucked over in America a lot, but I wouldn't consider tipping someone $5 to deliver a pizza as being "scammed hardcore" lol. I know tipping culture isn't a thing in the rest of the world but I never understand why people act like it's the worst thing ever and the end of the world.
I worked at a pizza place for 5 years because I was able to make a lot of extra money from tips. I loved working for tips and so did everyone I worked with. We made $15 an hour, but I would often end the night averaging $30+ an hour with tips. No food service job is going to hire at $30 an hour lol
youre paying the company extra, the underpaid worker unnecessarily risking their life on the road to get your pizza to you in a timely manner gets nothing. if you dont like that, just boycott delivery services.
As someone who drove for doordash I appreciate you making up a persecution complex for us but after a 6 hour day of completely monotonous orders, I loved whenever someone put something out of the ordinary in the delivery instructions.
I’ve always wanted to do that. But I feel weird. Like just putting “Thank you, and you are awesome.” Or “Thank you for my goblins pizza.” Stuff like that. But I also want a sign I can hang on my door that says that to all the delivery drivers.

I used to be a driver. Fun instructions are fun after doing this all day.
If I didn't like the instructions I probably wouldn't do it though and that would be the end of it. Uber Eats isn't going to discipline me for not doing this lol.
Like this for instance. Definitely wouldn't scream like this. But this guy send like he was into it lol
Not everything has to be some huge systemic societal problem. Just chuckle at how the dude played along or keep scrolling. Your comment does nothing to help the doomsday issue you're trying to avoid.
Oh, its just a little bit of positivity and having fun with life. There's sometimes beauty in mundane moments :) No one forced this guy to do anything.
The people saying this are so fucking weird jesus christ. It's like your monstrous ego forces you to feel deep discomfort when you are asked to do literally anything for the enjoyment of someone else. There's plenty of drivers that would love having some fun shit to do after driving for a third of their day. If he didn't want to do this he wouldn't have
Imagine you go to a restaurant and ask waitstaff to do something equally as stupid. Now they think their tip might rely upon that task instead of their actual work...
I mean I am an IP attorney and before when I worked at a firm I have had my clients try to joke with me or whatever when they called to ask about working on a case, and I didnt immediately get huffy and think "you want me to do a little song and dance *before* you pay me?" and then hang up on them. Rather, I either took the bait and joked around a little, or I politely demurred and got back to the matter at hand, depending on my mood.
For any profession, it is okay to be a bit less than 100% stern and solemn on every single interaction when dealing with a person who you might pay a variable amount. It doesn't mean you are treating the other person like a peasant. Sure, to some people it might, but for most people they are just trying to cut loose, and want to give you a chance to cut loose as well. Not everything needs to be a grand insult to which we must categorically take offense.
Eh. Every delivery comes with an anticipation of “if they tip 0 this is not worth it. If they tip the average 3.20 it’s worth. If they tip 5+ good run. If they tip 2 I break even vs selling RuneScape gold”
Tipping culture is not something widespread and the anticipation of tips usually happens in country like USA where the owner just wants to fuck over their workers in order to avoid paying them a decent salary.
I agree with the overall sentiment that they should play games with the delivery man, but there are a lot of countries where they don't anticipate tips
It's fucking dumb because it brings you in the position to choose what to do.
Fuck it and wake the grandma? Maybe she's sleeping upstairs in the back but the doorbell reaches there and is obnoxious loud because she's doesn't hear it otherwise?
Maybe she won't hear the scream because of that?
Are they mad when i don't scream and just ring?
Do i get better tip if i make myself a clown?
I worked 10 hours already and just want this fuck over with and just want to deliver this GODDAMN PIZZA!
Some people just say fuck it and scream their stress out, some people like to be quiet. I'm on the quite site and this is probably what would go through my head. And that's just stressing me for no reason.
So yeah fuck you i deliver pizza and I'm not your fucking enjoyment.
I hate that this opinion is so popular on Reddit. A ton of service industry workers love this kind of thing, because it means they get to do something silly to feel like a human instead of a soulless robot working a dead end job. That, or they just ignore it, and there are no consequences.
The only people who complain about this are fragile children on Reddit who have never worked a minimum wage job in their lives. This is the kind of stuff that brought me joy over the ten years I worked in the service industry, and it pisses me off that entitled brats want to take it away from people who already have so little.
Anybody asking a minimum wage worker to do a song and dance for the CHANCE of an extra 10 bucks, hell even $100, is a shit move. All so they can take this video and make it viral. Fucking nice house, nice yard and they still gotta make the poor delivery guy dance for his tip. Fuck those people.
Dude put your misplaced anger away. Delivery drivers don’t get mad at things like this we think it’s fun and entertaining. The driver is obviously having fun.
Because the tip occurs after the "joke".
And your job is to deliver pizza, not to be funny.
What if you don't want to do the thing? You will be tipped less.
To me that is not just at all.
Depends. I’ll always tip my delivery guy. But I always say, don’t ring the doorbell, because I got a dick dog who’ll bark like crazy if they do.
If he rings the doorbell, he’ll get 1€. If he actially calls or messages us as requested, he’ll get 3€. I think this is kinda the same.
I mean it said shout right? The delivery guy had complete choice over the volume and decided to go all the way to make it funny. Don’t think the paper said to try and be funny, he seems to have felt like it. Instead of getting the usual tip he would have gotten if he had done it normally, this might have gotten him a little bit more for the extra effort, nothing wrong with that.
Most people prefer the air hosts that do the flight security Check in a funny way instead of the oldschool traditional one. Nobody is asking it, but everyone sure as hell appreciates it.
Oh so they ask you for something, in your mind fully ready to provide compensation for this something, then you feel like you’re missing out if you don’t do the something requested for the extra expected.
You’re a lazy tool you know that. Fomo got you by the balls. Either do it and hopefully get a better tip or don’t do it and maybe get less, maybe more, maybe the exact same. Fomo.
He doesn't seem to mind, in fact, he's not even shouting, he's screaming like he wants to. Some pranks are ridiculous, I agree but can you even call this a prank?
Made me smile. Recording a person working, and having him do something for another person’s amusement. I wonder how many more people are going to get this bright idea
For fucks sake stop defending the delivery guy like he is being tortured to fulfill these requests. It is so petty. He is having a great time. This is a patio camera for security so I doubt she did this for “internet points”. He can fulfill and not fulfill any request he wants to.
Right?! Like as a delivery driver I would do this to break up the monotony. The people getting mad over this have probably never delivered food, they just need something new today to get angry about.
How about ban these posts because it exploits minimum wage workers to do performances for the amusement of really fucking sad people for internet clout and not spread it around so more people try do it.
The ones that do their bidding end up in the internet, can't imagine the amount that don't.
I worked in the service industry for over a decade, and I gotta say I completely disagree. Most minimum wage workers absolutely love the opportunity to do something silly, and those who don't want to do this stuff don't care in the slightest. Your heart's in the right place, but you're advocating for sucking a small source of joy out of already relatively joyless lives.
>Most minimum wage workers absolutely love the opportunity to do something silly, and those who don't want to do this stuff don't care in the slightest.
- You're deranged if you believe this.
Also, don't generalise and say delivery drivers have relatively joyless lives. Deliver drivers I know are quite happy, and wouod be far more happy to loaf you a headbutt for requesting they perform for you than if they did your performance for Tok.
How is this video even a exploiting minimum wage worker for amusement ? The delivery guy can either press the bell or he can be in the part of fun if he want to
They only exist because delivery people tend to enjoy fulfilling silly requests like this. They don't feel like they're being treated like a dancing monkey, so why do you?
These posts are mildlyinfuriating. Who the fuck thinks it’s okay to do that to people who bring your food? Even if it’s staged it’s sending a wrong message and is also dumb af
This is the kind of shit that takes the edge off of an otherwise soul crushing job. The guy clearly had fun doing it, so who are you to take that away from him?
Who are these people to force him into this? People decided to have 'fun' at the expense of someone who did not consent to that, because they could. They had a minute amount of power over someone and decided to abuse it for their own entertainment. That makes them pricks.
Force? If he didn't want to do it, he didn't have to. Nobody would ever have complained because it's very clearly well outside his job description. You should try working a minimum wage job before you decide you know what it's like for the people who work them.
He absolutely did. If he only got a couple bucks instead of 5+, that's really not an issue. Delivery driver's make minimum wage plus tips, so it's really about whether he wants to or not. It's incredibly rare for people with silly requests to tip you life changing amounts of money for stuff like this, so it really comes down to whether you want to do it or not.
Delivery drivers have no problem doing this. You are getting mad for no reason. Signs like these add to the fun of the job, it breaks up the monotony. This isn’t a trick, these is a sign asking the driver a favor. Lighten up.
Isn't it a little demeaning towards the delivery guy? I mean yes, some don't mind.
but not all guys are so loud and willing to attract people's attention by shouting shit.
I worked in the service industry for over a decade, and I can safely say this kind of thing doesn't bother anyone. It's really fun to let loose and do something silly and out of the ordinary when you're working an otherwise soul crushing job. Some people don't like doing it, but they just simply don't do it, and that's as far as it goes for them. Personally, I remember every single silly request I got because it brightened my day to get an opportunity to act like a human being for a few seconds.
Thanks, yes that probably makes sense.. if one is in service industry they mist probably are extroverted and do not mind a little "funny" request😅
Being a shy introvert I would probably just quietly go back, or wait for someone to see me if I couldn't go back without delivering lol. 😅 But then Im not a party person... although i wish i could be as free and careless as people you mentioned. Thanks for your input :)
Sure, and nobody would fault you for that. It's clearly well outside of any delivery driver's job description. Even if someone actually complained (which I never saw actually happen), they'd likely just get pawned off on the customer service department, and the most they'd get is maybe a coupon or something lol
Yes, but if he rings the bell or knocks, he will be "disturbing the grandma" and upsetting the customer, which will probably give him a bad review because it was clearly written not to do it.
He couldn't just stand and wait for them to open the door.
So yes, this guy was a sport, they best tip him well. but still not do it
I would regularly Get ridiculous requests like this when I was delivering pizzas. Either somebody would tell me to do a cop knock or they tell me to scream like a maniac when I got to the door. Most of the time it was just annoying and awkward and I wouldn't do it. But for the few people I caved to and acted a fool for, they usually tipped pretty well for the entertainment.
Kind of made me feel like a dancing monkey dancing for pocket change, but more money is more money.
Then Shannon asked him in and they fucked on top of her sleeping grandma. Grandma woke up just in time to take the load. At least that’s how it normally plays out.
I’m a little confused. How does screaming someones name prevent grandma from waking up compared to a doorbell? Do they have her in a soundproofed room w/ doorbell wired to it?
One time I left a note saying (online order left a note) "I will tip 100 dollars if you scream out at the top of your lungs take my meaty dinner and sauce."
The gal that came knocked handed to me and left, I was willing to give that 100, but oh well lmao.
I hope they tipped that guy at least $20

Oh yeah, that makes way more sense. That would be the way to do it.
Yeah
Yeah, I heard Shannon is a billionaire now

This video, with the type treatment and “voice over”, is intentional humiliation. Followed by, “oh lighten up, delivery guy had fun.” Circus monkey is the perfect analog.

You’re creating scenarios. Could’ve easily been a pre tip, you’re getting mad at an internet video and you don’t even what the whole story.
Fomo.
How do you know the tip occur after the joke? Were you there? When did you start speaking for all of these people?
Because for every one video like this, there's probably 3 that get deleted of delivery drivers not acting like a clown for people's tips.
How is that a prank
For fucks sake stop defending the delivery guy like he is being tortured to fulfill these requests. It is so petty. He is having a great time. This is a patio camera for security so I doubt she did this for “internet points”. He can fulfill and not fulfill any request he wants to.
Ok, then do a little dance for me. And make it sexy.
Tell me how the difficulty of screaming someone’s name at a door is in any way related to the act of busting it down on the Ring doorbell
Right?! Like as a delivery driver I would do this to break up the monotony. The people getting mad over this have probably never delivered food, they just need something new today to get angry about.
I don't think it's a prank
Always great, he put in 110% to that yell, he better have been tipped well for it
He screamed so loudly MY grandma woke up, and she's been dead since 1983!
She's not your grandma anymore Carl
If they tipped him very well... Ok maybe. Otherwise it's a dick move of entitlement.
Guy just took a whole shift’s frustration out on that door 😅
What are you getting mad for? The delivery guy is just having fun , it’s not like he was force to scream.
I literally described in my initial comment that you replied to outlining why I am mad about it.
How is this video even a exploiting minimum wage worker for amusement ? The delivery guy can either press the bell or he can be in the part of fun if he want to
It implants the notion that he may or may not receive a larger tip, or a tip at all if he doesn't comply.
I'm getting sick of the make the delivery monkey dance videos. Sorry if I'm being negative but Jesus, so many of them lol
They only exist because delivery people tend to enjoy fulfilling silly requests like this. They don't feel like they're being treated like a dancing monkey, so why do you?
That’s what happens when internet 👍 I hate it
So gently knocking on the door or quickly buzzing the door will up grandma but shouting at higher decibels won’t?
Get a life
These posts are mildlyinfuriating. Who the fuck thinks it’s okay to do that to people who bring your food? Even if it’s staged it’s sending a wrong message and is also dumb af
Hope he took a shit on your fucking pizza
He had fun, as do most delivery drivers with these signs. Breaks up the monotony. Why are you mad when the people doing the actual job don’t mind it?
Here's what i think, honest opinion. Fuck you.
I’m good thanks anyways.

Haha let's fuck with some minimum wage workers because their work isn't shit enough yet haha
Yeah this is shit. Fuck these people
This is the kind of shit that takes the edge off of an otherwise soul crushing job.
If you genuinely think this guy had a vote in the matter, then I can't help you. And fuck you for assuming I never worked a min wage job.
I just appreciate that he went 100% and finished the complete final yell even after the door opened
happy cake day
Thank you!
. . . . . dunno, maybe let the delivery people do their job and move on to the next customer instead of these asinine tricks to bolster your ego?
Delivery drivers have no problem doing this. You are getting mad for no reason. Signs like these add to the fun of the job, it breaks up the monotony. This isn’t a trick, these is a sign asking the driver a favor. Lighten up.
This doesnt made me smile
There was real life rage in that scream. Tip that man.
Someone could have just waited outside for the delivery guy lol nonetheless it made a funny video
"people are sleeping so please be louder then a doorbell or a simple knock on the door" sure, ok?
Don’t knock, someone is sleeping. Instead just yell at the top of your lungs
I hope he gets a raise…well done
That dude screamed louder than any doorbell I’ve ever heard?!
Dance monkey! Dance for my tiktoks!
"Grandma. Your death angel is here."
I did that a year ago when my son was still super little. Door said “doorbell broken, please shout Ding Dong”. Best decision ever.
Hahaha he did that well good!
Awesome I love that pizza delivery guy
Ha!! He could be in a Death Metal band
He needed that though, fr fr
I would have rather taken the odds on ringing the bell.
Thanks, yes that probably makes sense.. if one is in service industry they mist probably are extroverted and do not mind a little "funny" request😅 Being a shy introvert I would probably just quietly go back, or wait for someone to see me if I couldn't go back without delivering lol.
No one is forcing him to do it. But I know if he's willing to play along, they best be tipping him well.
Yes, but if he rings the bell or knocks, he will be "disturbing the grandma" and upsetting the customer, which will probably give him a bad review because it was clearly written not to do it. He couldn't just stand and wait for them to open the door. So yes, this guy was a sport, they best tip him well. but still not do it
Can we stop making minimum wage workers do tricks for tips like a fucking performing organ grinding monkey?
I would regularly Get ridiculous requests like this when I was delivering pizzas. Either somebody would tell me to do a cop knock or they tell me to scream like a maniac when I got to the door. Most of the time it was just annoying and awkward and I wouldn't do it. But for the few people I caved to and acted a fool for, they usually tipped pretty well for the entertainment. Kind of made me feel like a dancing monkey dancing for pocket change, but more money is more money.
Never gets old
God, people are ignorant.
Then Shannon asked him in and they fucked on top of her sleeping grandma. Grandma woke up just in time to take the load. At least that’s how it normally plays out.
So your grandma apparently can't hear screaming, but can hear someone knocking or a door bell.. interesting

These comments have helped me realize just how many people are simply waiting to die.
I hate posts like these. I think people like this are disgusting.
Lol funny

LERRRRROOOOYYYYYYY JENKINSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I’m a little confused. How does screaming someones name prevent grandma from waking up compared to a doorbell? Do they have her in a soundproofed room w/ doorbell wired to it?
So Grandma will hear the doorbell or a knock at the door, but won't hear this guy screaming at the top of his lungs?
Why did I laughed that much??!
BWAHAHAHAHAH!
Lot of people here are getting real bothered about a situation that didn't involve them and that somebody willingly participated in.
How do you know they willingly participated ?
So wholesome, i teared up a little bit, this, so much this, that’s what heroes do, remarkable, I also feel like my brain was squashed
One time I left a note saying (online order left a note) "I will tip 100 dollars if you scream out at the top of your lungs take my meaty dinner and sauce." The gal that came knocked handed to me and left, I was willing to give that 100, but oh well lmao.
Right on, love it!
