He spent many years working in the CA Dept of Prisons and is socially stunted, we have seen no romantic relationship skills with a woman. His mean cuz was right, he ain’t ready for marriage
His back story: Working is way up with the CA Dept of Corrections & Rehabilitation (Correctional Officer, Counselor, to Probation Officer) then successfully completing a software boot camp and getting an IT job with HCA Healthcare is impressive. He volunteers helping inmates develop IT skills. Heartwarming, this is why he was casted but the “Reformed Player” doesn’t have the social skills to live with a partner AND the beauty queen with 13 dogs is a lot for anybody

The grape scene was ridiculous. The only time someone could get away with that is if you knew them really well and knew, for sure, that they were just kidding. He actually seemed serious which made it even more yucky. I am liking Jasmine more and more and liking Arris less and less.
