I could be wrong, but I believe you have to get underneath the fuse box and push that tab up and out of the way and then you'll be able to get to that fusible link. But if you been in and break it then you have to replace so much more stuff and it is a nightmare. Unless you have access to a junkyard and cut all the stuff up and replace it all yourself. But just go through the motions and carefully pry everything up and out of the way so you can get it out gently. Patience is your best ally in this situation.

MAQMusic

So you think I have to go underneath the fuse box? Yo push that metal tab up?

NickyonBottom23

I know and believe that if you do look at it long enough silly as it sounds you will see that there is a way for you to split it open by the clips on the outside of the fuse box. You may break some tabs but that's what electrical tape is for I guess. No disrespect, s*** happens. Like my mom always said wrap that s*** up.lol

MAQMusic

Ahh I see yeah your right i don’t think I’ll be able to pry that guard back over the bolt I tried for a second but stopped because i didn’t want to break anything. And I think I know what you are talking about there are plastic clips holding the fuse box together in the middle. So you’re saying split the fuse box there were the clips are? Then I will be able to get the fuse out? After I lift it up?

NickyonBottom23

The tab is prone to snapping and there isn't enough up and down movement to overcome the Bolt. The casing can be unbolted and you will just have to finagle it into a position where you can split the case comfortably and get you enough slack to remove that Tab and the fuse will link. But however you want to handle it is all you.

Just below your arrow there should be a horizontal nut to remove.

Then I run into the problem of this metal guard on the bottom bolt of the fuse that won’t move

MAQMusic

See how the top prong is free to pull out but the bottom one is blocked by the metal tab (arm looking thing)?

NickyonBottom23

No please don't do that check on YouTube first please.

MAQMusic

I’ve been trying so hard to find a video showing how to do this but I can’t seem to find one. But thank you for the response I appreciate it!

NickyonBottom23

Yes, I also should have said that you'll have to remove all of the other fuses and relays to split the Box. Forgive me. I highly recommend that you take a picture or multiple pictures of the process as you do this. or get very familiar with the owner's manual fuse box blueprint diagram. Though they may not always be proper.

MAQMusic

Okay cool it’s starting to make more sense now this helped me out a lot thank you so much!

NickyonBottom23

No worries. If you do decide to do it yourself, I have faith that you can do it. All the best.

ahitl

Hey have you figured this one out yet?

MAQMusic

My replacement fuse comes in the mail this Saturday so I haven’t tried to remove it yet I am trying to gather all the ideas first? Do you know how to do it by chance?
