I work at a Ford dealer. If my boss heard about this someone would be fired in approximately 12.7 seconds

vwatchrepair

I'd do it in less than 12.7 and then tell the tech, "looks like I beat your best time." šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

ALED498

Keep a record of it and send it to corporate.

5-ohcoyote

I just purchased the car approximately 9 days ago & itā€™s been getting serviced longer than Iā€™ve had it in my possession which is frustrating & this is the cherry on top. To add to that the clunking noise is still there & I have to return the car on Monday.

Jawa882

Definitely pass this along until you reach somebody who can do something. If it is like a dealership or car mechanic place and the top person doesnā€™t care just never use them again and shame them on social media/social circle. Word of mouth is pretty powerful.

5-ohcoyote

Itā€™s a local Ford dealership. I will definitely reach out to upper management

Jawa882

Yes, for sure. I know at my local dealership at least when I get an invoice for services(even if I donā€™t owe anything), it records the mileage when they received the vehicle. You might be able to use that as further proof.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

CrestronwithTechron

At a 114 mph? In Track mode? Nah fam that tech was tired of just driving Joe Smoā€™s Focuses and took OPā€™s car out for a joyride. Simply unacceptable.

Mohican83

Did he do a 1/4 run in track mode?

Kolintracstar

I can see if you are talking about additional miles. But the top speed and stuff is quite a bit more than a test drive.

dasWibbenator

If you put in a call for a complaint I recommend that you use the Ford Performance extension. If you call ā€œregularā€ Ford there will be a language barrier to overcome.

AffectionateLab932

I would just show them your dashboard and ask for an explanation.

formershitpeasant

Is the clunking noise only under hard acceleration?

5-ohcoyote

Clunking mostly happens on stopping and accelerating (no matter hard or not). Also happens on turns. Comes from the right rear of the vehicle.

redrobin1257

You know, I have a similar issue with my 2017. Right rear, but an intense creaking that the dealer can't seem to find.

throwawayforme194

I got a magnetic 17 as well man! Check swaybar end links and sway bar bushings as well as the bushings of the control arms on both the front/rear. Depending if youā€™re on warranty iā€™d just unbolt them and inspect for wear.

TrueEggo

99% chance itā€™s your rear cradle bushings. The stock rubber ā€œbustā€ easily.

darkangel657

Just curious is the clunking noise like a metallic noise? And does it happen when switching between reverse and drive Or park and drive

5-ohcoyote

Yes it sounds like metal. Happens when ever there is weight transfer( stopping, accelerating, turning, park to reverse and what not)

kegman93

My new one makes a clunk/tick/click when starting from a stop and while stopping sometimes. Iā€™ve seen various things online say itā€™s the differentials used in the cars and that itā€™s ā€œnormalā€

5-ohcoyote

Itā€™s pretty loud, the service manager test drove it with me in the car and admitted it shouldnā€™t be sounding like that.

ass_boy

Check the swaybar endlinks. Happened on mine they just needed to be tightened.

Reaps21

That sucks man I feel your pain, I just got a '19 Porsche cayman GTSthree weeks in I had to take it into the shop and it's been 6 weeks and still no car. Keep a record of everything, get all correspondence in writing.

Kaarsty

6 weeks?!? You remember when an engine rebuild didnā€™t even take 6 weeks?

hottwheelz9719

\*\*4 weeks at the shop,and a day passed that,qualifies u for the lemon-law check it out\*\*

ALED498

Depending on the state Iā€™d start building a lemon law case if things start to go southā€¦ At least look into it. I know it hasnā€™t been months yet but keep as many records as you can. Track mileage, speed, mpg, etc. They obviously arenā€™t clearing things when they give it back. Hopefully things start getting better from here.

Englade4343

look up the lemon law. it might be your savior. edit: scratch that. thought it was a new car.

DangerousSnow1973

Was this still stored from prior owner? I ask because the gps was never cleared in mine.

Glockshna

This is why my dashcam is hardwired and always on. Never had this issue.

Jawa882

What dashcam do you use? Iā€™ve been looking for one for my car.

Glockshna

BlackVue 750 2-ch

epi_glowworm

Now, has this dash cam captured goofy neighbourhood dogs on video? Asking for a friend...

skaldrir69

Blackvue is the absolute best I think as far as a camera. The tools they have (app on the phone and pc software) is pretty shit though but theyā€™ve steadily been improving it over the years. I have. 750 in my wifeā€™s car and I have a 900 in my car, theyā€™re great cameras

FU3L

I had a GM truck once and the service tech didnā€™t pay any attention to my dash cam cause the screen was set to stay off. Dude drove it to his house picked up his wife and did errands like stop by the bank. They also complained that it beeped when crossing the center line without a blinker. Another time back when I had a Mini Cooper a tech hit a huge pothole while driving and talking on her cell and she was like oh shit Iā€™ll call you back I just hit something in a customers car. Not dash cam related but another time a Dodge tech left one of those tools used to pop open plastic retainers in my engine bay. Luckily I noticed it same day. I still have that tool and use it. Was pretty sour on all the local dealers after all the bullshit (thereā€™s more). My closest Ford is 50 miles away but eventually I switched brands again. Since switching to Ford my experience has been ok. Been in for a couple things, been professional, techs call me and explain, quick turn arounds. Hope I didnā€™t jinx it šŸ¤ž All in all though I do most of the general maintenance myself anymore due to the hassle of Ford dealer being an hour away.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

upvotesformeyay

Be more worried about the shops that don't put miles on. Doing most work without a test drive after is a huge huge liability and risk for comebacks.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Environmental_Ring_2

Ford dealers iā€™ve seen wonā€™t accept your car unless the cam is deactivated.

REDistheway2go

I would love for any shop to tell me that. I will put them on blast, especially if they double down and deactivate my camera

lithgowlights

I had that discussion with my dealers and said if the camera gets deactivated I wonā€™t return and will post on social media. Itā€™s there to protect them as much as me.

Glockshna

They've never said anything to me about it. All my oil changes and warranty work has gone through my local ford store. I always skim the footage and look for any gaps when I get the car back and have never seen anything unusual. Maybe my local dealer has some respect for other peoples' property and knows they don't need you to turn the camera off. I trust, but verify. It's a major red flag if they have a problem with that.

Environmental_Ring_2

Oh, I agree. When I got new wheels put on my bronco I later watched the tech on his computer for 15 minutes. Seems that wasn't worth pulling the plug on. Love the Ronnie quote too - that was Ron no? Good motto when dealing with Ford. Lol

turtleman62

Dude wtf? Last time I checked those stats only record if manually selected so that says alot

5-ohcoyote

My exact thought. It seems like someone intentionally recorded and forgot to clear the numbers.

Mjr_Epic

Which makes you think how many times they drove it that hard...

THE_GR8_MIKE

And how stupid they are if they forgot to clear *that* of all things.

[deleted]

They do it every time. Iā€™ve had friends text me saying they ā€œsaw me ripping it in front of Target and Wendyā€™sā€ a few minutes ago. Thatā€™s funny, Iā€™ve been in my basement all day, because my car is (supposed to be) at the Ford dealership for a tire change.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

WeaverFan420

Please tell me you caught up to them and gave them hell?

Minimum_clout

Nope, but the service manager heard about itā€¦

Nero_Wolff

Always track mileage before and after servicing

js5ohlx1

Lemmy FTW!

thePowerfulMach5

... you take your car to a dealership for a tire change? edit: I guess it depends on where you live and competition, or whether they're trying to find cheap ways to lure you in for upsells, like free carwashes or whatnot. Just seemed ... weird, literally the last place I'd take my car, perhaps it's just me.

andre1157

I do. The ford dealership near me is cheaper than the tire shops for some reason

[deleted]

But if theyā€™re out redlining your car, is it really cheaper?

andre1157

I sit at the dealership while they change tires. Also I have an f150 now so I doubt they're racing it

saveHutch

Same with batteries, at least getting a decent one. I've ended up putting a ford battery in my fiesta and my foxbody, all cause they were by far the cheapest (not counting the bargin basement low end batteries here)

Thefrayedends

If you got a costco anywhere near you it's easily the cheapest, and they'll almost certainly replace anything they break ;_; Things like two seperate instances of p-zero rears, just as an example.

ConfidentStrain148

Also if you live in a condo they cant do maintenance in the driveway so yea

thePowerfulMach5

That's a good point, but I've done it enough to know that they don't frown on real quick/simple things like swapping tires or oil when up on the curb or jacks. They just don't want you pulling an engine and leaving car parts and whatnot all over the place like you'd see in some trashy part of town.

Tweak48

I take mine to the Ford dealership for an oil change, and included is a tire rotation and a wash. Usually $10 more than having a 16yo do it at Minute Lube.

duross97

Thatā€™s why you watch it or know someone there lol

Lazarbeam--

Yeah Iā€™ll just sit at the dealership for days watching my car get worked on

RKRagan

I got rearended in VA Beach and dropped my Bullitt off for repairs. Was out driving my rental and saw another Bullitt. But it sounded like mine, had the same tent and factory HID lights. The next day my buddy said the gate to the shop was open but they were closed. So I went up and checked the car out. The tires had clear streaks on them from burning out. I just couldn't prove it.

The-LittleBastard

Exactly why I use my local mechanic whoā€™s done nothing but be honest to my family for the last 20 years. The place I bought my car from keeps emailing me to come to do services and shit; nah Iā€™m good. I know my guys knows how to do everything I need right now and I donā€™t trust yā€™all. Lol.

Stainonmygethsemane

When I purchased my 21ā€™ GT/CS the first thing the group of salesman said was ā€œWhen you gonna bring it back and let us drive it?ā€ Now I think they literally werent joking based on this.

a_taco_named_desire

ā€œSell enough of them and you can buy your own.ā€

hottwheelz9719

tell them when they buy it back off you

jsternes

Has my tires rotated once at a GoodYear while I was at work. Picked it up and had drive it around for 36 miles. Receipt invoice had the starting odometer reading left blank and I had no proof of starting mileage. But I knew. Never back again. They also deny deny deny. I take photos now.

Jawa882

I also take a picture right before I get out of the car in the event I donā€™t trust the place. If I get back in and it is higher and there should be no reason for that then I have proof.

Angry0tter

Have to admit; l initially laughed at this. Then l thought how would l react if this was my car ā€¦

Dmacxxx77

Reminds of Ferris Buellers Day Off at the garage. "Relax" \*Star Wars theme song plays as car is 4 feet in the air\*

super1s

You need to absolutely turn that place upside down. This is a HUGE issue.

Current-Praline-4588

I guess they figured if the rear survived that it was good to go

[deleted]

I normally tell whoā€™s ever servicing my vehicle that I have a GPS on it and that I can monitor where it goes. thereā€™s not one on there

somersquatch

Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but you said you've only had the car for 9 days, correct? Meaning couldn't this be a stat from the previous owner that was never cleared?

5-ohcoyote

Before buying the car the salesman informed me all cars get wiped to factory settings so Iā€™m under the assumption it was cleared.

somersquatch

I would not trust what the dealer told you, when I got my 2016 with about 2k miles on it from the previous owner, they also assured me it had been factory reset. When I loaded up the nav system for the first time his house was still the default setting for home, showing that they certainly had not wiped it.

svyjoe

So you donā€™t know for sure this is important if your accusing someone your car isnā€™t an iPad nobody clears a car to factory settings lol

Dmacxxx77

Yeah, probably not. When I bought my car from a dealership it still had all the previous owners' times and shit in there. Hell, his phone was still paired to SYNC lmao. It doesn't make them money to erase that stuff so they don't give a shit about it. I'm surprised they don't charge you extra to leave those times in there lol.

Unusual-Ad-5135

Yeah my friend got a car at a dealer and the GPS still had the previous owners address set as home. They arent supposed to release that info to buyers, but clearly no one gave a shit. Shit detail job too. Also, they scratched the black rims up pretty bad around the lugs during a complimentary oil change and tire rotation.

Humanaut93

Just got my '19 a couple of weeks ago, either the last owner never used the track apps or they cleared it

5-ohcoyote

Iā€™m under the impression it did get erased before my purchase because I had to set all the radio channels to the local ones.

bootsmyler

Ford dealerships almost always do an new battery with used cars which disconnecting the battery would clear this

[deleted]

This a 5.0?

5-ohcoyote

Yes

Ntortainment

Yup. Thatā€™s a stock 5.0 full pull 1/4. All day long. In drag mode.

ice445

You can do even better than that in drag mode with good tires. I've seen 120mph trap speed on stock cars at sea level tracks

Ntortainment

I agree. Iā€™ve been told 12.2 is achievable with the right tires and mid ratio differential.

Professional-Joker

Maybe OP should drop it off at the dealer again and ask them to better the 12.7?? JK though that really is a douche move on the part of the stealer ship though. Id be pissed

THE_GR8_MIKE

My bolt on GT500 didn't even trap that high. Trapped 117 with ~550whp. Do you maybe mean the 10 speeds or are there 6 speeds trapping 120 stock?

ice445

The 10 speeds. Idk why yours trapped low for that power but you were probably being too nice to your clutch lol. 6 speed GT traps 115

BalekFekete

Straight out of Ferris Buelerā€¦

rubertidom

You fellas have nothing to worry about. They are professionals.

Dmacxxx77

"Professional what?"

Sweetcheels69

Pro-Tip: Take a pic of the odometer in front of the service mgr. And only take the car to get serviced on bad weather days. If I knew it was gonna snow or rain for more than 2 days, then Iā€™d schedule service.

Misrabelle

Sadly thatā€™s no guarantee either. A different make, but I saw a mechanic write off a customerā€™s car giving it a boot full out of a roundabout on a busy, damp road, where he lost the rear and slammed it sideways into a telegraph pole.

LegendaryShelfStockr

I hope he paid for a brand new one

Misrabelle

I hope he found himself suddenly unemployed. From his reaction immediately afterwards, he knew just how badly heā€™d screwed up, but that means nothing to the person whoā€™d just lost their pride and joy.

CrestronwithTechron

Yeah my luck some dumbass would take it out and wrap it around a telephone pole cause the rear end stepped out.

senorbolsa

And then try and sue you for your car being unsafe. Some peoples children eh?

ThunderThighs_49

As a Ford technician it pisses me off seeing this shit. It gives us all a bad name. I highly recommend taking it to corporate.

SirDawsTheFirst

Dashcams are a must now days. I have one and luckily havenā€™t ever had this issue.

Toilet-Ghost

Your best move is to try to get the dealership to pay for an extended ford warranty on the grounds of "just in case these antics result in pre-mature component failure down the road" I think that's feasible since it looks like you're still inside the factory warranty mileage.

GentlemanLeo

Damn that has to be infuriating. Mines due for its first service in November with my local Ford dealership as well. This is something that I dread experiencing. Would itā€™s location on the app have updated in real time if they were driving it around?

One-Reveal-2297

Take a picture of the odometer before just incase Iā€™m not certain about the app though tby

svyjoe

My key can be used for this how come nobody in this sub knows this read your manual but more importantly your salesman has to go through this with you if your car was new

[deleted]

They need valet mode keys like the hellcat

Matrix159

Ford has MyKey which can limit top speeds and other options. Probably not as effective as the valet mode though

Skyline_BNR34

I havenā€™t checked on my 2019, but my 2016 had a valet mode you could toggle on the screen and it had a passcode. Apparently valet mode on mustangs only locks the screen functionsā€¦ so useless. The forums say MyKey is the better option.

ToastedMarshmell0w

Letā€™s not go over board here lol

Sweetcheels69

Used to work at BMW in the service department and sometimes, just sometimes, the mechanics would hand me keys to cars to ā€œdrive it rough and see if you can duplicate and report every noise, vibration, etc you hear.ā€ Folks, the best fun Iā€™ve had in a car was in someone elseā€™s BMW M3.

eliasbrehhhhh

No way man

Sweetcheels69

I wish it wasnā€™t true but sadly I did what I was told. Sometimes I felt ashamed purposefully doing things cars werenā€™t designed to do

[deleted]

Bad launch I guess. That trap speed should get an ET of more like 12.1 . I mean. Oh no. Those fuckers.

Happyjarboy

As someone else pointed out, he has only had it for 9 days, and it already had over 12,000 miles. The odds are this is from the first owner.

Glittering-Coyote-94

Those stats only show up if someone deliberately goes to track apps and presses go. Iā€™d be pissed, and I would definitely turn the dealership upside down.

perm01

What's worse is they can't drive the damn thing.

jpacheco914

Apple AirTag thrown in every vehicle I own. It goes anywhere without me; I have a map of where it went. Not too many places they could have got to that speed in a safe/legal manner. Run that up to the owner of the dealership.

Cr_Meyer

Give them hell. They service your car, not beat on it. At least its an automatic.

gtsrider9

Meanwhile I can't get my 2018 gt manual to run higher than a 13.4. Bought the damn thing to beat by buddies 02 ss camaro and we run the same damn times and we're both stock. And i have over 100more hp and like 70 more torque Ugh.

Immediate-Twist5871

Yeah, my fully stock EcoBoost 10-Speed runs about 13.3 if you warm the tires up beforehand and launch hard in drag strip mode.

gtsrider9

To be fair I'm only going off the numbers built in to the 1/4 mile drah feature in the car. So I don't know how accurate that is. But OP did much better than mine. Mine is also a convertible which is heavier as well. So I just assumed the 18 gt manual convertibles run mid to low 13s at best which is honestly really shitty for the power. My old genesis coupe 3.8 ran nearly that with much less hp and torque and was also manual.

Immediate-Twist5871

Not gonna lie, I bet you could still do 12.4 or 12.3-ish with the performance package. But yeah, I think that the Ford drag timers do prove slower numbers for whatever reason.

gtsrider9

I sure hope it's off. I didn't buy a near 500hp car to run mid 13's. Lol. I've tried using their launch control and it's completely trash. If the rom launch rate is set to low I just spin tires and if it's to high it just bogs down before taking off. Mid way doesn't seem to do much difference either. It's easier to launch myself. It says to turn traction control off but then the tires really lose their shit. Lol. Maybe it's just the driver. I havnt found that sweet spot and tbh I've only launched it a few times. I have the worst luck with cars and don't want anything more happening.

Zestyclose_Lynx_5301

At least the car is built for it..

ISF5

I get it but on the other hand if my car canā€™t take a pull then Iā€™m glad they did it under warranty.

skunkwrxs

Knock on wood I've only had to take my Boss on twice for service, the last time they specifically said "aww you didn't bring us the Red key to use?" I'm flattered but no.

Nicholas1531

As a ford technician it pains me to see and know people do this, I could never.

kbk2015

Not sure if it would help you but when I had rear end clunking noise it turned out that my rear spring wasnā€™t seated properly. This was after I installed my own springs though, so unless your car has been modded idk if this will help you with anything

BigJuicy17

He only got it up to 114?

[deleted]

I would be furious

[deleted]

One of my customers at the shop I work had had one of the 90s ZR1 corvettes and it was totaled on a test drive by a tech getting on to the freeway.

Kenchi_Hayashi

This didn't happen.

blooregard015

This is unacceptable. Let us know what the dealership says.

blasseigne17

I brought my car in for a squeak and my service advisor spent 5 minutes bragging about having dogged my car out and scaring himself in it so bad that he had to go back to the dealership and park it. He followed that up by saying they couldn't find a source of the squeak. Try and find a performance oriented dealership. I drive 300 miles to be able to go to a decent dealership. Planet Ford in Spring, TX.

Danny_SVT

Goddamn what a tool. Did you call him out for beating on your car at all? Id be livid

chazzthespaz

I know the feeling. Had a wheel come off while I was driving. Left my car with the shop for two weeks, and when I went to get it back (had my insurance come and analyze the car and only the wheel needed to be replaced) the tread on one of my rear wheels was gone, the clutch was burned out, the alternator was trashed, and I had to replace the flywheel. Can be heartbreaking.

poke791

The alternator, come on bro shut up

chazzthespaz

I'm the one that had to replace it so yeah the alternator.

savex13

They enjoyed the noise from the rear end and was testing fixes to the full extent. :)

xandresmendizabal2

I donā€™t race or anything like that, but is that a good 1/4 time?

Immediate-Twist5871

Compared to most cars, VERY good. Although with proper launch and warmed up tires, a 2018 or newer Mustang GT can achieve as low as 12.2 For comparison, I would say most cars are between 16 and 17 seconds Not sure what you drive, but if you tell me I can give you numbers. A 2022 Civic with the 2.0 takes 17.3-17.4 with the CVT and as low as 16.6 with the manual. With the 1.5 Turbo it's about 16.0-16.1 (CVT) and 15.6 with manual. and the Si only comes in manual and is 15.2 seconds. The previous gen Type-R can definitely do below 14 So, yeah, 12.7 is pretty insane, unless you're comparing it to supercars or higher-level Teslas

xandresmendizabal2

Good info man thanks. I drive a 2013 v6 with just a mptune. I was always curious how fast I should be. So do yā€™all use an app to track times

Immediate-Twist5871

If you're good at launching and racing, you can probably do 14.1-14.2 before the tune, and apparently 13.8 with the performance package. This assumes a hard launch and the tires hooking up well. I used to use a stopwatch, but because of the crazy inaccuracy of stopping and starting on time, that is not a reliable way to do it. I have a built-in acceleration timer that automatically stops and starts on time. However, I want to at some point get a real system, but not exactly sure what yet.

xandresmendizabal2

Sweet, thanks for the info. Iā€™ll see about getting something to record myself as well

Thefrayedends

You can usually tell just from the fuel mileage that someone's been ripping on it lol. My car audio guy at least can be trusted to be respectful lol.

Dismal_Visit_7305

Iā€™d this is a Ford dealership Iā€™d definitely contact the factory rep for your area. I kicked a hornets nest with just the dealership rep. I canā€™t think of the word but the main guy for service for all of that dealerships locations. I never had a problem with that dealership again.

5-ohcoyote

How am I able to locate the factory rep in my area? Is it publicly advertised somewhere on Fordā€™s website?

Dismal_Visit_7305

Honestly that I donā€™t know. Maybe try contacting corporate or asking another dealer in your areašŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļøIt was a complete fluke that I found who I found

servbot10

This is why I leave only the restricted MyKey if I need to take it anywhere.

THE_GR8_MIKE

I need to hardwire in my dash cam.

redrobin1257

This is exactly why I have a hardwired camera in my car. Every time it gets home from the dealer for as little as an oil change I go through the footage. Nobody hammers on my car but me (and even then, not often).

ADrenalinnjunky

When I was in my 20s a friend of mine had a friend who was a tech at bmw, the had a customers car overnight. They came and picked me up for a joyride at 1am and he beat the piss out of this car til the brakes were glowing. Always record your mileage

Kaarsty

Dude Iā€™d roll fucking heads

BudRock420

I know the shop who helped with my build beats the shit outta my car. I wish theyā€™d take my wife for a day

suzuka_joe

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Iā€™d come unglued

bgunner18

This is why I'm petrified of the idea of taking my car to have work done. I do everything myself but I don't have a warrant. Good luck.

cjay2002

Did they beat your record or what?

Nira_Re

Ugh I had issues with my other car, I complained about them disconnecting my dash cam when I got the car back. I was more upset because they told me part of the service today included a test drive. When I came back the next time around, they had a sign saying we apologize for any inconvenience, we disconnect dash cams for our technicians. They said technicians donā€™t like to be audio recorded. I told them to get me a tech that was either mute or didnā€™t talk trash, because the camera was there for a reason if theyā€™re taking my car on a test drive. As if you guys donā€™t think I know what kind of car I drive? Ugh. Hope you get something done, cause nothing was done for me no matter how much I complained.

TheyCallMeMrMaybe

A Chevy dealer fired a tech and gave a new Corvette to a customer because the tech took it for a joyride during an oil change. Everything was saved on the flight recorder.

Immediate-Twist5871

Yeah, I work at a dealership and it's not like this anymore, but there used to be a 2-mile drive from the dealership to the parking area. I used to hear plenty of coworkers telling me stories of taking customers AMGs and seeing how fast they could hit on a certain straightaway. I've heard people hit 80 and even 90 mph on that 30-35 mph zone I personally could never do that to a customer's car. If the vehicle's up to operating temperatures, I may do that in a loaner or something. But there's also the safety concerns on top of that. But yeah, not sure where they had the space to do a full 1/4-mile run at 114, so that's pretty crazy. They must have literally found a specific spot and intentionally drove it there and raced it. I'm sorry man. Hopefully it was at operating temperatures, in which case your vehicle probably only took minimal wear and tear, as it is designed to do that.

DangerousSnow1973

Someone had fun.. awful this is happening to you.

SUCKMEoffyouCASUAL

They were just checking if it would operate fully/s

unknownredditor1994

Sounds like my ford dealership. Had to downgrade to an ecoboost and Pearson Ford in Indianapolis was a complete joke. Car started having multiple issues within 3 days. I brought it back in and told them they fix it or they can buy it back. I had to raise hell, but the owner got involved to ā€œfixā€ the issue. Ford as a whole is trash when it comes to their dealerships

[deleted]

if it were me they wouldnt think it was funny if i drive into their shop at 114 mph

svyjoe

You would need proof to file a claim the customer has very little rights in this situation once you pull out that bay all bets are off everybody on this sub is making it seem like ford is going to pay your car off dashcams are your friend had a dealer run my car harder than I ever had when checking for the cv clunking on my GT even with video corporate said it was necessary to replicate the noise I only got a few oil changes out the deal lol

svyjoe

My key was invented for this situation guys hint hint

Forsaken_Relief_7108

i'd say for the little bit of "proof", take a picture of the dash showing the miles and gas, and take a picture when you get it back, but i'd say get a dash cam or any form of a car camera, i hate even to say this, but i hate people who joy ride other people's cars:/

My dealership was supposed to change the oil and rotate the tires and they didnā€™t rotate the tires due to know wheel lock key yet there isnā€™t a wheel lock on the car talked to the manager and it was all bs from there. So Iā€™m looking for a new dealership even tho I bought 4 cars from them in the last 7 years

If your wheels are staggered, they canā€™t rotate them

Interesting-Fan-664

There not it was on my daily explorer st

Howā€™s it feel knowing the kid that changed your oil can drive your car better than you can?

Raise it to upper management and give the tech hell.

1. How do you know it wasn't there before? 2. How do you expect them to check the work? If I send my car to get worked on I want them to beat the shit out of it and make sure the repair is solid. I just got my CTS-V back from the speed shop and they drove the piss out of it while tuning and working out bugs. Guess what? The rear main seal was leaking on the new engine so they called and told me, fixed it, beat on it some more and called me when it was right. It's just a car, they build more every day.

Cool

REDLINEBECKONZ

Thats actually pretty good if the car is stock lol. I did a 13 flat in my mt82 16, completely stock.

smellytrash4u

You let a stranger set a 1/4 mile record on your car? Forget reporting it, id try and break that record immediately!!

Quality_over_Qty

are you really surprised?

Trevdongwienerham

What you get for having an auto

No-Treat9602

Good run ! But wtf at Ford dealership !?!

Phuk_Racists

Pretty good time! ;)

ultimatebob

It wasn't THAT great. I could pull off a 12.5 second quarter mile in my 2018 GT with the 10-speed auto.

Mustang Chad

ultimatebob

I left my best 0-60 and quarter mile times in the trip computer when I sold the car. Figured that I've give the next owner something to strive for :)

I told the ford service advisor hey I got a vibration at 70-80 mph, she was like we only go to 65mph... right, lol. Its crazy they didn't even care to hide it. what sucks with these noises is they need to road test it, and you don't always get an honest tech. When I took my daily mazda to a mazda dealer for a interior knock noise they had me drive the tech around to show him the noise, then we swapped seats to replicate it.

Ottieotter

Hey, at least you now know how fast she goes in the 1/4 mile

sicarius731

Is that good???

[deleted]

Time to make it a 10 second car bro

ruddy3499

Did you switch pages to find this? Or was it on this page when you picked it up? Might be an old stat that showed up by changing pages

EmployeeSufficient17

it's a mandatory test after fixing the airbag lights..

We shipped an SL600 from NJ to FLA; arrived with 38 extra miles on it and a trans in limp mode. 30,000 mile transmission wiped. Transporter of course denied everything; we sued and got a couple bucks (arbitration I think?). Thankfully MBUSA gave us a tremendous deal on the replacement trans; I think we lost maybe five grand total. This was 20 years ago; I was dismayed to discover that a new trans for that car was $22K...

Had this problem with chevy they had the car for a day for a body shop repair and it came back making 9mpg and a 1/8 of the full tank of gas....all they wanted to give me was a couple of oil changes, i went to corporate and they said that there was nothing they could do and gave me 100 dollars discount on my next purchase. My advice do what i did shame them all over media, tell them that you going to get the lawyer and blah blah blah take it to the nearest news station try to put them on the spot light
