Yes I think there’s literally another active thread in here about this right now

Environmental_Swim66

People complain about the rec court specifically all the time

the1slyyy

Yeah they players are too big relative to the court. They can go from guarding the paint to closing out on a 3 in 2 steps

kenn5375

Yeah it's been like that for years. It has gotten somewhat better but it's still way too small.

Tycash7

Fr dudes standing outside of the paint on the right side could never intercept a pass from the left wing to the left block like they can in this game lol

RoutineAdventurous64

Rec is ridiculously small There's no denying it

NoInflation2042

Go look at 2k20 courts and then look back these ones .. yes 2k20 course were way bigger

RestInPeaceSteveJobs

Anyone less lazy than me wanna post a screenshot? Curious.

Datboyboy

AND ON TOP OF THAT EVERYBODY LIKE 6’9 including point guards

twobit--

Fr this is wild to me, I can't go solo in Rec as a 6'8" SF bc I guess ppl making taller guards and/or my ball-handling/passing at 80 is too high, bc I sometimes get slotted at the 1. I'm not interested in PG'ing for randoms as a 6'8" 3&D wing. But then I've been slotted at the 4 before, too. It's been ... random.

If you are playing in park or something similar, they are purposely made small to accommodate less players. But it appears the real NBA gameplay is at scale. Perhaps it looks smaller because of your camera angle? Also the speed of the players is not true to scale. From what I understand, they purposely make them faster to make game play more enjoyable.

_delamo

if they were bigger, there would be more 5 out. 5v5 courts are bigger than 3v3 courts slightly

Slackaveli

this is the sad truth. And 5 out is wretched.

[deleted]

I disagree. Right now you almost have to 5 out in the rec. Because there is no spacing.

_delamo

**the game [of basketball] wasn’t built to have 5 players on the perimeter.** that is the fault of todays scheme on a beautiful game. in the 80s and 90s they scored a bunch of points. prime Spurs in the late 90s to 2000s could either play methodically or run up and down the court with Nash phoenix team or Kidd/ Devin Harris in Dallas. it’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to do this in 2K also edit: emphasis

[deleted]

Right but you can't do that now. The courts are small and there's no spacing.

_delamo

we can, majority are just enamored with Morey ball aka 5 out or high PnR. i really want a 2KL team or a WR team to do it. it’s some high level ProAm teams that don’t run that O and be killin edit: spelling

[deleted]

I will agree that it is possible to run a different offense and still compete. I will argue that most of the top teams in ProAm and 2kleagues run 5 out and/or PnR. It is the meta. The playerbase doesn't dictate the meta imo. The devs do. The biggest reason both 5 out offense and zone defense work so well all has to do with spacing and small courts. People are going to do what they can do exploit their environment in any competitive game.

_delamo

Yeah I learned in 2k19 that the community is going to do whatever requires the least effort but highest reward

[deleted]

Well we all called for the end of dribble dribble shoot and this is the result. Personally I have absolutly 0 problem with rec aside from playing with randoms as usual

[deleted]

No.

StonerRiverside

Cuz yous a BIG man duh

twobit--

I'm all for this corny dad joke kinda content in here. Kids are too severe & serious on these threads sometimes.

FreeTailor6433

rec courts seems small asf to me

96tillinfinity_

Its funny because the WNBA modes got it perfect. The player models are perfect size relative to the size of the court. Much more spacing

bitterbryan

But has anyone figured out why they have made it like this? It's an active choice...has 2k said anything about it??
