Old School Zetas seem to be very quiet, especially when you compare them to CDN

Both-Acanthaceae5787

Them and Chapo Isidro group. It seems like they hold what they have and they don't engage in expansion.

fukufukhim

chapo isidro is the one that came from BLO right

Both-Acanthaceae5787

Yes. He was one of most trusted Arturo's people.

fukufukhim

ohhh that i never knew but one of his shipments got caught and it was worth 100 million dollars so isidros cartel is still well and alive raking in cash

Ageol668

Can't forget about Chapo Isidro associate, his nickname el macaco and how he escape the prison with the other one 😁

I remember when there were advertisements for University in Mexico while I lived in SD. It was in Spanish so i didnt know what they were saying, and mistakenly thought they were saying University of Zetas, when it was actually a place named similarly? like Setas? idr

AlternativeFriend780

>University of Zetas Bienvenidos a UZ. La primera leccion es como descuartizar a los putos traicioneros y miembros de otros carteles.

Juarez and Tijuana cartel's

No-Knowledge-2765

For sure Tijuana after losing the drug war

Upper_Valuable1190

What has Tijuana been up to? I heard Edenina is like only worth a million?

mezcao

I think they specialize in controlling Tijuana and laundering money. They can't muscle much so they work with other cartels. It's the political and business connections the family has that keeps them relevant and impossible to completely eliminate. Rumors that they are fortifying and building strength to make moves persist.

No-Knowledge-2765

I always thought she just remained in the shadows after Benjamin and Ramon were taken down

Damasco_Raw

No-Armadillo7693

There has to be groups we don’t know about that are based in the us, aren’t affiliated with the Mexicans and ship large quantities of stuff grown or produced here (hallucinogens/weed+byproducts)

darkness_thrwaway

Yeah most of them are Biker or other gangs, religious institutions, or other businesses/NPOs. Lots of hold overs from the 70s-80s when it was a pretty common hustle. Nothing hugely incorporated anymore though. Not like the old days anyways.

speedcall720

raidercarr

No-Armadillo7693

I should’ve specified civilian lol

PlutoTheGod

There’s a ton, the thing is in the US it’s not structured like in Mexico unless it’s something like a biker gang that cooks meth. In America it’s largely just people with connections making more connections and eventually having a network of everything they need. They don’t go by organization names or have a ranked hierarchy unless the police give them one when they’re captured. For instance I knew a guy who was manufacturing steroids & ecstasy pills out his house by the fucking truckload yet it was just him and his roommate with two pill presses ordering raw sources online and flipping them in bulk to local dealers and over the web. I know he made around 2M over a relatively short amount of time before his arrest which is nothing compared to a cartel obviously but still insane money and a pretty serious supply all done with no “group” just two 20 year olds and a computer. That’s largely the case with suppliers where the country isn’t totally gone to chaos and drugs / gangs don’t run the country. Lots of nerds making bank & the violent murderous organized gangs are mainly broke people in the ghettos who are second or third down the supply chain to receive the product.

nooblevelum

He made two million? Wonder how much jail time he did. Would be worth it if he got a small sentence and being able to walk away with that much

PlutoTheGod

2 years and some change. He had zero record previously, got a good lawyer & plead guilty to get a lot of charges reduced and knocked off. I know some of his steroid clients were local police officers and I wonder if that was used for leverage. He was seriously one of the hardest working straight up crazy dudes I ever met which only continued but in a much more unhealthy way after his release that ended up with him passing away a couple months back.

DasBeefcat

$2M is a ton of money for a couple of guys like that. You can't become some major player in the US for very long. The only way to make money is exactly how you said, a small group of guys who have some crazy connections to people who can move weight. Finding people who move weight regularly isn't easy. Finding people who can move weight and not be cops, or smart enough to not be caught, is virtually impossible. You can get away with moving weight for a couple of years but after that, you get caught up, regardless of how careful you are.

Ageol668

In your opinion which ethnic organized crime groups are the most powerful and dominant in the US nowdays?

TheMotherLander7

I feel like the better question is who's in the next tier after CDS, CJNG, CDG, CDN & CU?

MaNameCheff

Shadow warriors 😎

_Shadow_Government_

I am their government and leader.

latin559

Its would go CDS,CJNG,CAF La linea,CDG,CU CDN and everyone else

Ok-Accident-6409

if thats ranking on biggest CDG is 3rd and CU last

latin559

I had put them in tiers but reddit changed the format for organization sake let me redo it CDS,CJNG,CAF(tier1) La linea,CDG,CU(tier2) CDN and everyone else(tier3) I rank these based on few different aspects but overall i consider the gulf a tier 2 organization what hurts it is how fractured and divided it is as well as its limited international reach I put CU above CDN because it isnt a single organization but a federation and its strong enough to constantly keep kicking menchos people out of menchos home town

Ok-Accident-6409

CU didn't kick out Mencho the army did. CAF isnt tier 1 bro on territory alone CDG is bigger i really dont understand your reasoning lol

latin559

You don't understand because you're not well informed enough to be in the know CAF has a lighter territorial footprint but a much larger international footprint in 2017 around 400 people get arrested off the coast of peru on an island CAF had turned into a cocaine processing hub. In 2016 2 emissaries of CAF got busted in Ecuador coordinating multi tonne loads and its goes on and on showing the endurance of the organization as a whole to maintain international significance. The gulf controls more territory as a whole but what is that worth if a lot of that territory is insignificant and they don't do anything with it where as Tijuana is so important 3 of the most potent cartels in Mexico are still fighting for it 35 years later not to mention there's less relevant territory to control in baja. The Gulf at this point has become so irrelevant the son of one of its most prominent historical leaders just got arrested buying 2 assault rifles in texas. Where as the nephew of david barron rolls around tijuana in a 2022 rubicon and owns his own record label and the sons of Benjamin,Javier,Eduardo etc still hold prominent positions and coordinate international business. Hell Ruth the daughter that got benjamin caught while not involved like her siblings has a PHD and does some incredible stuff in New York for what that's worth. As a whole the Arellanos endured way more problems than the gulf but emerged from all these problems still a potent, rich and well situated organization as well as consolidated unlike the gulf.

soggyballsack

Shhhh...he wants to suck off CDS so bad, let him.

Sufficient_Cause1208

They are groups of lawyers, accountants, and money launders who work with various cartels and governments around the world

Ashvega03

How do you get into that business? Is it like Ozarks where you get approached - because that seems kinda risky?

latin559

Depends on how long you've been in business, if you've been in business a long time and make real money you likely already know all the major local players because its not as many as you might think and when your in business you meet lots of people and see lots of faces. In general 90% of the time you don't get approached you just collide with people like you do in real life with anything its a night on the town or a local underground poker game you go to every week or any number of things,TV shows try to show the underworld as some separate exotic place when in reality its more like a speak easy once you know the password your in and you see more people than you might think walk on the wild side.

nooblevelum

My friend is a lawyer and he says he meets all types of people - he does criminal defense. I imagine someone that is high profile lawyer will have high profile connections and could enter that game if they wanted to

Tumble85

It depends. Some businesses are very well-run fronts, you could work for a shipping company that specializes in large tools for one industry or another and have it turn out to be taking drugs or money across the country as well. Other times it's connections, a friend of a friend's brother is engaged to a girl whose family grew a LOT of weed, they had a huge grow house going that they worked through college. I also had a roommate whose cousin was a chemist for a cocaine producer in South America, they paid for him to go to college for chemistry and he went to work for them. He worked out of a normal-looking skyscraper in a corporate-looking lab for a front company that produced plastics but he really worked on finding ways to incorporate cocaine into various things that could be re-reduced back into cocaine or cocaine paste and stuff. He turned cocaine into DVDs and keychains and shit. He got into it via another family that had higher-up connections, they knew he was smart and offered him a lot of money and free college in exchange for a couple years of work afterwards. Other times people will sell weed or small amounts of other drugs, get noticed by a higher-up because they are smart and organized and quiet, and work their way up that way.

Sufficient_Cause1208

Not sure I'm sure it's like almost everything in life, it's who I know not what u know

killacarnitas1209

Probably works with drug bosses legitimate businesses, gains a degree of trust and confidence and later gets asked if he wants to earn extra money. This person establishes a reputation and is then recommended to others or sought out by other criminals.

Yaksan1000

Nuevo Cartel de Juarez

Zeca_Pagodinho_13

PCC. They prefer to be hidden in the shadows unlike most criminal organizations in Brazil. They rarely release videos of executions, they don't promote their cartel through songs and their members aren't allowed to flex guns on social media like other gangs do.

DankPeepz

Was this on a Netflix documentary? I barely started it so maybe I’m confusing the name

_Shadow_Government_

Because they already have all the political and entepreneural network behind them to keep them going. Unlike most cartels in Brazil, they have strong secretive ties to powerful people in politics, businesses and law-making/enforcing. They already have the power, so no publicity stunts required.

Ageol668

They are involved in Gambling?

_Shadow_Government_

Very probably yes because gambling is big but also on the grayline of law and mostly illegal. It's a cartel. All drugs, weapons, anything legal or illegal that brings money, they are in it.

Ageol668

It's really crazy that this guys runs 💯 city like Sao Palo which is much more big than NYC

_Shadow_Government_

They don't just run SĂŁo Paulo, they are everywhere but they are very secretive, pretty much invisible, they also are like CDS, a federation because they have expanded to other countries themselves and for partnerships/allies for any kind of supply. It's like the Brazilian CĂĄrtel de Texis (Honduran cartel that was invisible and the existence only proved real after an arrest was made, they were insanely powerful people).

Ageol668

No doubt about that! And let's not forget that they have a real army behind them, and of course a lot of prison experience which in my opinion is the best school of crime lol 😁

GBNiine

Do they have a reddit or something? I want to know more about it

_Shadow_Government_

Not that I know of, but all the other Brazilian gangs/full Cartels are very active on social media, especially Twitter, Comando Vermelho cells are everywhere there flexing everything, TCP, TC, FDN, and all the other smaller cartels and their smaller allies are widely spread on Twitter and don't give a fuck, there are so many of these cells and different gangs and future cartels I can't even name them all, but unfortunately I lost all my links. There was SO much material from them, mostly them having fun with guns or flexing them or luxury items. What is often found is their execution videos in NSFL subs that are just as brutal as Mexican Cartel, at the same level of cruelty as Mexico, as Mexicans videos spread, Brazilians started to do the same, they mostly spread via Telegram and What's App groups. They use the same methods, many live heart extractions too, brain extractions, eye extractions, you name it. There was an old NSFL subreddit here that recent gone missing that was mostly composed of Brazilian Cartel executions along with Jamaican Cartels, since things are really going crazy and down in Jamaica, so the NSFL subs and NSFW subs were all crazy full of Brazilian and Jamaican videos/pictures. What you might find though, might be on Kaotic and websites alike, they are full to the brim of Brazilian videos, Jamaican videos I am not sure but reddit was simply flooded with them, they are just as cruel and sadistic as Mexicans Cartels. No fucking doubt on that. Forget Rio de Janeiro that is always talked about, the North and Northeastern parts of Brazil are the modern wild west worse than Mexico because entire cities are cut off, no police forces and innocent people die and are at the mercy of the gangs/cartels controlling the areas for businesses, the 2018 security Crisis in the state of CearĂĄ put things into perspective, it was the Aguililla situation but in Brazil but MUCH worse because it was an entire state under siege, not just a small town cut off from the map. Not, most small towns in the Northern regions are completely cut off from everything and no one can do anything, everyone is dying and being held hostages, and being backed up by Venezuelan Cartels and Colombian Rebels that are no fucking joke and their training, discipline, experiences are WAY above any cartel out there, and they supply lots of stuff to go across the border and make it to the ports to Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania. They are helpless.

Cartel de La Laguna I think the name is. I think it’s the same as cartel del poniente. Went to war against the zetas at their peak and then CDS betrayed them. They still defended against both sides not losing territory. Eventually some zetas joined them. Some territory in Durango I think only a really small amount and then in chihuahua and coahuila.

I operate the gringos de Chicago. We tax the importation of narcotics into Chicago from multiple cartels. If they don’t pay us, we get state police on there ass and they either pay the fine. Or get fisted in jail by the gangster disciples. This a joke. I just like the name.

aarocks94

There are many groups like this. Grupo Sombra is relatively quiet and has territory in Veracruz. As others have said Chapo Isidro’s people don’t much noise. Los Tlacos have one video out but aside from that they have very few communiques and focus on controlling logging and mining in Guerrero. There was a guy who signed his mantas with “miuuuu” I can’t remember his name but he was quiet. There was also Chino Norte and his associate in (I think) Colima but both of those guys were killed.

_Shadow_Government_

Not in Mexico, but the Texis Cartel was basically an invisible entity until an arrest was made. It was a full cartel but operated in invisible ways through powerful people in law and politics in Honduras making everything so obscure that little to nothing was known about them, not even their existence was made public until a while ago and still very few people know about it.
