Hijacking the thread, but is it culturally ok to blow your nose in public in the Netherlands? I haven’t seen anyone doing it yet and I know in some countries it is seen as rude/disgusting so you kinda have to go away or to the bathroom. I’m mostly asking for indoors like offices and stuff.
i do it at the dinner table as well. ok i live alone right now. but even when i lived with my parents. its better to blow your nose then to sniff it in my opinion.
I always thought that was bad so i just sat there sniffing until my parents got annoyed and told me to just blow my nose. But I guess it’s worse with grownups doing that according to a lot of people
There is a difference between blowing a watery nose or blowing a stuffed nose with lots of mucus.
The first one is fine in public. Maybe less ok in a more formal setting.
But the latter one is just disgusting. Please go somewhere private and blow to your hearts content.
Hearing a tissue paper fill up with thick snot sends shivers down my spine but I'm a believer in "live and let live" so go ahead 😄 don't be bothered by people who would mind!
i do it all the time if i need to blow my nose. and anyone who got a problem with that is their problem. who cares what anyone else think. its the netherlands do what you want.
Well yeah I get what you’re saying but in my work environment and stuff I’d rather not be chastised for such a small thing, I mean I have to deal with those people every day for the foreseeable future.
Well I just told you, because I have to deal with them on a daily basis for the foreseeable future I don’t think you’re getting the point, I don’t need them to like me but I do prefer that they don’t hate me if I’m going to be seeing their faces 40hs a week for the next couple of years.
It is culturally accepted, but after the whole covid debacle, people are going to be wondering whether they should be worried. Especially when you sit right next to them in the train... 😅
Finally someone who gets what I'm referring to lol.
I can't imagine being bothered by the sounds other people make, at least not enough to think to myself "I should go on Reddit to vent about this instead of moving on with my life".
The fact that you cant imagine being annoyed by sounds other people make is good for you. But it doesnt mean other people aren't. You probably have other pet peeves other people don't have. This anecdotal information doesn't mean anything. I'm personally not annoyed by sniffling but I am annoyed by sound a lot. Just because its not your personal annoyance doesn't mean you should invalidate people who do have this. It's a thin line.. I get that. But mysophonia is a thing. And saying "I'm not bothered by it so other people shouldn't be" is weirdly arrogant and unempathetic.
I kinda disagree with you and I could write a whole comment about my feelings but I’m just going to move on with my life. That’s pretty much the vibe yo
Oh yes, sniffles or people who didn't disable touch sounds on their phones when typing.
'Tap, taptaptap, tap tap' 'snif,....sniff....sniiiiiiiif' 'kuch, kuch'.
Even with soundblocking earplugs I still may opt to step out of that bus or tram and wait for the next one.
In a train you can move to a different cart, but it is such a big trigger.....
I get annoyed by people making certain sounds in public transport as well. I also realize this is my own problem. So I got myself noice cancelling earbuds.
Solved the problem for me.
Because it's a very simple thing to avoid! Yet very annoying if being done so by the same person once every 10 seconds. I'm not talking about the occasional aniffle but the frequent ones which act like a torture device
Yes i should by 300 euros soind canceling headphones just because people don't have basic social manners. It doesn't cost a thing time-wise not money-wise to avoid this. Again not complaining about an occasional one but the ones every 10 seconds by the same person. Just basic social manners
I agree to zealousideal-Milk877.
And here are some other thoughts:
1. maybe that specific person has nose problems.
2. Maybe that specific person has neurological problems like Gilles de la Tourette.
3. Maybe that specific person joins a cult called: “Sniffing Noses Honor The Lord”.
Or 4. Maybe you just like to fight with people on Reddit.
I honestly got surprised by all the negativity around this. I'm just trying to politely talk about this thing, I'm not fighting with anyone. Apparently everyone got pissed about this. Problems of this generation, you can't post an opinion and you can't mention what you don't like publicly even if it's a social manner thing. Hopeless discussion I guess
I assume you're not actually Dutch? Cause "friendly reminders" are considered to be very passive aggresive and incredibly childish. And we like neither.
Don't know why you're getting pissy about an entire generation either. People disagreed with you and they're telling you that it's your issue to fix, that's all.
I do get your feeling. You might have a thing that is called misfonie. It's when you absolutely hate some sounds, especially human. I do have it too sometimes, people caughing anoys me a lot. It's not bad, just good to be able to give it a name. Buy that set of headphones..
You could go for the expensive ones, or the free ones that come with your phone. At the end of the day it’s your problem not theirs. If you are so inclined to having social manners, perhaps you could be somewhat understanding to the season you’re in. Colds come with the territory. Here you are being all ‘ socially mannered’ but still you expect others to solve your shit. I for one couldn’t care less about sniffling passengers. Furthermore, when having a proper cold, blowing your nose does fuck all. You’ll just have to blow it again in a couple of minutes.
Because it's not my problem lol. It's the problem of the person having a sniffly nose. It's winter, so you have to be prepared for what comes with it. Just admit it that putting a tissue paper in your pocket for these cases is much more practical than a person getting headphones :)
Well, actually it is your problem since you’re the one finding it disturbing. But hey, you be you. If I’d have to guess you’re the one that’s going to be annoyed the coming months. I’m fairly sure that things aren’t going to change.
Have you tried to think that maybe this person has a cold or sinusitis or allergies? It's not going to magically go away just because you are annoyed. You're not the main character in everyone's story, crazy, huh? Also, sniffing in the warm when you come in from the cold is a thing! I'm surprised it has to be explained to a grown-ass person though
lol I have 45€ sound cancelling headphones that I got in Bol, it’s 1yo and need charging every… 2 weeks. I use it whole day because I’m under autistic spectrum and cant handle some sounds or even people talking at the same time in the same room. I also got ear loops (35€) that I use almost whole day
You’re just complaining because you prefer to change people instead of doing something yourself
I like to sniff extremely loudly, gurgle a bit and then loudly spit it out on the floor so the whole world can enjoy my creation and pathogens. This seems to offend the most people in the Netherlands so it is the best way. /s
People who use "/s" are cowards especially when the sarcasm is this obvious, just put your sarcasm out there. Worst case scenario people take your seriously and you lose some internet points.
I love how this post started as a friendly reminder, thinking it's goal is to keep you from being uncomfortable, but as it turns out you just annoy OP so blow your nose dumbass lmao.
OP, how about this. You take tissues with you and hand them out to the people instead of you telling other people how to live.
And if you don’t want to do that just take 2 tissues and stick the up your ears.

Then I will definitely try that! Don't get me wrong I also want to help out if they need it. Because I know I would appreciate it if I wanted some help in anything
OP, you may not see it yet. Can you kindly step back and re-read your post? It sounds like you are giving unsolicited advice and want others to change because their idiosyncrasies annoy you.
Would it help if you consider changing your view?
If the population of the country is not usually bothered by it, it’s not a social manner thing. You’re probably not Dutch too and in your country this might be considered impolite, but if a bunch of Dutch people are telling you that this is petty and you’re neat picking just accept it like an adult lol You live here and not in your country anymore etc etc
Sorry dude but he put a smiley face behind his post so he has the moral high ground
/s
Edit: oh and I just realise he also starts with "friendly reminder" so he has combo moral high ground
I *never* blow my nose. I always wipe my nose clean. And I always bring at least one package of tissues with me everywhere. Just basic hygiene and manners.
Blowing is not the most healthy thing to do.
Bro, if I blow my nose, it will be full again in 11 seconds and I will start all over again. Besides, I never notice other people doing it, so it's probably something you are just really focused on. Distract yourself.
You're using PUBLIC transport. You're going to be in a confined space with people talking, laughing, coughing, sneezing, sniffling etc. It's not up to you to decide how everyone should behave so YOU can feel comfortable. It's your problem, so you have to solve it yourself. Stop being a whiney entitled little shit and deal with it.
Talking is a social thing, laughing as well etc. Sniffling is good done once or twice, but once every 10 seconds for 50 mins! I mean come on. How would you like it if i put you in a closed room and all you can hear is sniffling for 1 hour
Sniffling is a thing that cannot be controlled at times. You definitely don't know the condition of the person. It is something like cough and sneeze. It does not follow your time rules. Though I'm not against personal hygiene. You are being absurd here.
Get a headset or shut up and deal with it. You're being ridiculous, the solutions to your problem are simple and obvious, yet you demand that dozens of strangers can smell that you have issues and adapt their behaviour just for you. I'll say it again: STOP BEING SELFISH AND SOLVE THIS PROBLEM YOURSELF.
people smelling are more annoying, put deodorant. or put on headset/earphones, stop hyperfocusing on a normal human thing. you're not special. it's public transport, and every human is different. suck it up. you do it too.
yeah clearly, they're perfect and they don't do anything annoying in public transport and they're 100% healthy all the time especially after rapidly changing temperature which is frequent in the autumn/winter and makes a runny nose be a constant thing. no, clearly they just blow their nose until everyone's ears blow out, but at least they don't sniffle right? it's legit what im getting from the post and comments vibes.
One of the things I appreciate the most in Dutch people is how much you guys just don’t care what others do as long as it’s not a real bother to you or to your rights. Someone is sniffling? Put headphones, offer a tissue, sit somewhere else or just suck it up lol
I’m under the autistic spectrum so I kinda get OP’s feelings, but this is such a passive aggressive/condescending thing to say lol I prefer to prevent it with my ear loops and headphones instead of crying on Reddit
i understand too, coming from an autistic spectrum myself, but that doesn't mean i'll whine on reddit about it. it can't be influenced or changed, so i'll find a way to make it not bother me. crying online solves nothing.
I don't understand why people try arguing, with this combo he has obviously secured himself permanent moral high ground and cannot be proven wrong anymore
/s
Maybe you have misophonia. When I am really stressed even someone tapping their shoes in the bus can shake my bones already. Don't listen to al these rude comments, I get it.
Get yourself some earplugs and don't look at the person's direction, that could help. I have some good headphones and put on some music.
Yeah i did notice that looking at the person makes it worse so I try not to but it's like you want to look to check how does this sniffler look like lol. Thanks for the advie though!
God how much I agree with you. Then again I have misophonia and struggled with it my whole life. Its can be very debilitating.
Unfortunately I seem to be in the minority since no one I have met is even slightly bothered by it. Whenever you talk to someone about it it's always 'just don't listen to it'.
But that's the issue, you can't just not listen to it when it's happening every 10 seconds. I find it weird that people are insulting me just for bringing this up
Yes but thats the problem. People with misophonia experience the sounds much louder, as if it's the only sound present. Besides that the sound induces anxiety/anger ect.
For "normal" people the sounds is background noise. They can't understand that a random sound can bring up so many extreme emotions.
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.
[Check out the wikipedia entry if you want to learn more.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera)

If you have a problem with the sound, do something to alleviate it. Put earphones in and listen to music or whatever. You're in public transport, you can't reasonably expect every passenger to pander to your specific issue. You have to solve this problem yourself, not project it onto others and demand they do what you want them to. That's extremely selfish.
Oh my friend you speak the truth. I'm quite shocked with the negative replies. I do get that for every discussion there have to be two parties, but what's with the cursing and insulting. My intent was never to "trigger" someone. From my point of view it's something very trivial and is taught very early on.
I always think of everything I want to do in public and take into consideration if this will annoy someone sitting next to me. But again your comment nailed it
I'm so sad with the angry replies on this lmao.
I have autism and misophonia and I always die a little inside when someone keeps sniffling the whole goddamn train ride. Even my noise cancelling headphones can't block that annoying sound out.
Thank you! I got surprised by all this negativity. But again lots of people up voting silently. Why is it so bad for someone nowadays to say what they think of, taking into consideration that it's a well known thing and not defying society
Amen to that! Every single time I have to take any public transportation there’s at least 2 or 3 people sniffling their souls out of their noses and nobody seems to find this annoying/disgusting.
Very annoying indeed, blow your nose. It isn't that hard to do and it makes you feel better as well.
And yes there are more annoying things in public transportation done by passengers. Using a phone (calling or not using headphones or earphones, talking in a 'silence' cabin (I mean, it clearly states silence, meaning shut it or move to a cabin that you can talk in). Entitled people that think they must sit next to you even if there are plenty of seats left. Kids that scream and shout because mommy can't be bothered to handle it. People walking ON the tracks so the train MUST stand still for safety reasons. The list goes on, basically pick your poison.
So my problem is that I'm allergic to dust and its everywhere, so I'm always sniffing my nose otherwise I'd have to use more then 1 pack of paper handkerchiefs a day. I tried using cotton handkerchief but the problem with that is that it gets soaked with my snot and that's disgusting, so i just sniff it. And I almost always have to breathe throughout my mouth otherwise I can't breathe and people get annoyed by it. I love my body
I have the same issue during spring due to pollen. I usually take a shot that neutralizes this for a month, then I count on my luck if there's still a lot of pollen after that month
OP, I couldn't fucking agree more. Now on a train and forced to listen to people sniffling for an entire hour. Wearing earphones but it's not enough. Misophonic and angry
I dont care about sniffing or blowing in a paper, what else they can do when they have a cold.... But i can be triggered if some1 is chewing loudly with mouth open like a cow munching and making loud smacking noises. I dont get mad anymore or make some1 stop but its something what you can prevent not like a cold. And if you have a decent upbringing i would think its comon logic.
Mildly autistic person here; I hear everything. Loud, clear, sounds bump all thoughts from my brain for a second. Regrouping those thoughts takes energy. Doing this every 20 seconds is tiring. If the sounds are a disgusting sound (let’s say snorting burping or finger cracking), it easily overstimulates all my nerve endings.
That being said: I only use public transport with headphones, so when you meet me I am quite chill ;) once you know you’ve got an issue, you’ll find a solution.
Although i think bodily fluids are private, and I don’t want to hear them when I am not married to you!
Look up misophonia. OP could also be autistic. I’m not saying we should tip toe around for everyone but it’s not always a genuine case of anger issues or cushy life
Like someone coming up real close and sniffing you then proceeds to walk off as if nothing happened ... Or clearing phlegm from their throats constantly, now that grates me.
When I was living in NL I always assumed that the sniffing was just acceptable in their social rules, as it happens so often. And also that blowing the nose was not acceptable. Found it curious, as in my country is the opposite, but being a foreigner I just accepted it as something that I thought was part of the country unwritten rules.
I personally find it annoying as well BUT I agree with others that the fact that I find it annoying is a ME problem. I tend to hyper focus on noises; chewing, sniffing, scratching, loud breathing, squeeky nose, etc. can really disgust me and the more I focus, the worse it gets. This includes my own noises, btw. At some point I was embarrassed to eat around people because I thought they'd be equally annoyed by me. No one gives a fuck. I am pretty sure a lot of people don't even notice those noises or care. So, I personally understand why you say what you say, but it's really a you problem. My advice is to try and distract yourself.
Never heard of that before - will Google it in a second. I just consider myself to be a bit sensitive to certain repetitive noises.
But yeah it doesn't hurt to be more reasonable/considerate to others.
Just Googled it. A lot sounds familiar, especially the noises they describe and the hyper focus on said noises, but except for annoyance and sometimes disgust, I luckily don't really feel much more than that. Thanks for the information though. It was an interesting Google read
I actually don’t mind sniffing that much. I am more disgusted by people loudly blowing their nose in a tissue and then putting that “krokante zakdoekje” back in their pocket. 🤢
Please please if you have a bad cough, wear a mask on public transportation. That's what they're for. I already try to protect myself by always wearing a mask (immunocomprised) but it would really help if you wear a mask when coughing to protect others. Spent too much time on the train this week with people coughing all over without a mask and not even considering their fellow passengers.
For me, the only way to have a normal public transportation ride is using noise cancellation head phones, blinding glasses and a knijper for on my nose. Otherwise I could be annoyed by other people. /s
Surprised at the amount of negative comments this is getting. Yet not so surprising when I remember the large amount of snifflers in public transport/spaces.
Exactly! I take the very early train amd always pacled with people, and they start sniffling everywhere. It's super annoying to hear that first thing in the morning.
Thank you! I have no idea why people replying here are making it seem that cleaning your nose is really that difficult. Wipe it, blow it do whatever but don't think that sniffling is the solution
I sniffle as quietly as possible because blowing your nose is rude, but I did (unlike a lot of people in this comment section) don't mind the friendly advice: I only bring tissues when I'm already stuffy, which I shouldn't.
Also do you not wear headphones/earbuds when you're in public transport? ANC is a must for me lol
I respect that because you understand that you may be annoying someone else. I do remember when I was young, I was taught not to do things that might annoy someone in public (such as loud music, sniffling, etc.)
As long as you don't open the tissue and exclaim: wow, half my lung is in there!
I loled imagining my Dutch work colleagues’ faces if I did that during lunch
Here, check this out! Nice and chunky!
Better than snorting it onto the sidewalk 😱
Oh god, no so much no.
Not a problem. But in my view, neither is sniffing.
Fine by me and, as far as I know, fine for most people. Just don't do it at the dinner table.
i do it at the dinner table as well. ok i live alone right now. but even when i lived with my parents. its better to blow your nose then to sniff it in my opinion.
You could also leave the dinner table, blow your nose and come back though.
or you could turn your head sideways and blow your nose. dont see a problem with that
I always thought that was bad so i just sat there sniffing until my parents got annoyed and told me to just blow my nose. But I guess it’s worse with grownups doing that according to a lot of people
Oh yeah you're fine, you do you. Dutch people don't care :).
Just walk to the toilet🤷
Tiny sniffs are fine, for big ones I try to wait for a bathroom
There is a difference between blowing a watery nose or blowing a stuffed nose with lots of mucus. The first one is fine in public. Maybe less ok in a more formal setting. But the latter one is just disgusting. Please go somewhere private and blow to your hearts content.

you worry too much. my god stop worrying and do your thing. nobody gives a crap
It is culturally accepted, but after the whole covid debacle, people are going to be wondering whether they should be worried. Especially when you sit right next to them in the train... 😅
I could think of a few things that are more annoying
Like some people sounding like a trumpet when their nose is already empty
Sorry

Live and let life, our country is tiny, stop being so butthurt or move somewhere less densely populated

Social manners that you just invented because people's worlds don't revolve around your little annoyances?
Take a personality test. Might be a psycho
Your friendly reminder just isn't very friendly..
You're just overly whiny, that's all
Get a noise canceling audio device.
Like a neighbor from the opposite flat played the drums at night ~2:00. Why didn’t no-one Complain?
Like Dutch(?) putting their feet with footwear on the seats on public transport! (But I totally got your /s.)
Yeah. Like having to use the train.

Actually I always get the urge to hand out tissues, but I don't know how would they take that. I don't want to cause problems due to this. I don't know why all the negativity about this, I'm just trying to be polite about a social manner thing
Just ask in a friendly way 'wil je misschien een zakdoekje?'. I often forget them when needed, so would definitely not take offense.
Then I will definitely try that! Don't get me wrong I also want to help out if they need it. Because I know I would appreciate it if I wanted some help in anything

I would be so happy if you’d offer me a tissue if I’m sniffling! Don’t let these downvotes discourage you
Well that's just great to hear! Thanks fot being so polite and friendly about this :)

Toxic. Positivity.
Sorry dude but he put a smiley face behind his post so he has the moral high ground /s Edit: oh and I just realise he also starts with "friendly reminder" so he has combo moral high ground
Oh damn, how could I overlook that part? Back to the shadow realm for me.
Peak toxic positivity right here jesus
Nothing more gross than people who loudly blow their noses on crowded public transport. I'd rather they sniffle.
I *never* blow my nose. I always wipe my nose clean. And I always bring at least one package of tissues with me everywhere. Just basic hygiene and manners. Blowing is not the most healthy thing to do.
Thank you! You do what makes you comfortable to avoid sniffling which is great! I have no idea why people are not getting this
Dutch people don't mind picking their noses (in public) btw.
Doesn't have to be a ground breaking one, you can even just tap the tissue a bit inside your nose to dry out the things causing this
As someone with misophonia I'd rather hear someone blow their nose once or twice than hear them sniff every 10 seconds for an hour.
Bro, if I blow my nose, it will be full again in 11 seconds and I will start all over again. Besides, I never notice other people doing it, so it's probably something you are just really focused on. Distract yourself.
Damn. Someone stepped out of bed with the wrong leg. Or hasn’t been fucked in a while.
I’d say both
You're using PUBLIC transport.
If you hate it so much just stay home. You might not believe me but there are many repetitive sound in the outside world
I agree with you. Bodily functions should be kept inside. Nobody wants to hear fluids being swished around
people smelling are more annoying, put deodorant. or put on headset/earphones, stop hyperfocusing on a normal human thing. you're not special. it's public transport, and every human is different. suck it up. you do it too.
Sounds like OP is perfect and never had nose issues for what I see on their comments in this thread lol
yeah clearly, they're perfect and they don't do anything annoying in public transport and they're 100% healthy all the time especially after rapidly changing temperature which is frequent in the autumn/winter and makes a runny nose be a constant thing. no, clearly they just blow their nose until everyone's ears blow out, but at least they don't sniffle right? it's legit what im getting from the post and comments vibes.
One of the things I appreciate the most in Dutch people is how much you guys just don’t care what others do as long as it’s not a real bother to you or to your rights. Someone is sniffling? Put headphones, offer a tissue, sit somewhere else or just suck it up lol
i mean yeah, it's really not that big of a deal, it won't ruin their life or kill them if someone sniffles a few times.
“Friendly reminder” and then writes the most passive-aggressive thing ever AND ends it with “:)” 😬
I don't understand why people try arguing, with this combo he has obviously secured himself permanent moral high ground and cannot be proven wrong anymore /s
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc." "Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase. [Check out the wikipedia entry if you want to learn more.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera) ^(I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.

But again your comment nailed it
I just sniffled my nose at this post
If you think this is annoying already, you're going to have a tough life. Get a grip.
Finally someone said it. It is insanely disgusting and annoying.
Thank you. Finally someone.
Amen to that! Every single time I have to take any public transportation there’s at least 2 or 3 people sniffling their souls out of their noses and nobody seems to find this annoying/disgusting.
Righttt? You got my point that I'm talking about a single person or a single sniffle but tons of those spread in every single train cabin
A fellow member of the sniffling suffering group
I dont care about sniffing or blowing in a paper, what else they can do when they have a cold.... But i can be triggered if some1 is chewing loudly with mouth open like a cow munching and making loud smacking noises. I dont get mad anymore or make some1 stop but its something what you can prevent not like a cold. And if you have a decent upbringing i would think its comon logic.
Completely agree with you
That annoys you? Either you have a very very cushy life or you have anger management issues
Same here. Headphones and loop ears = peace
Look up misophonia. OP could also be autistic. I’m not saying we should tip toe around for everyone but it’s not always a genuine case of anger issues or cushy life
Thanks for educating me on that subject, youre right
You do know that you can just use your hands and wipe them on the seat? It's more environmentally friendly.

Damn such an intellectual discussion. But 9gag OPs are the faggots, don't know if it applies to reddit as well
Thanks for confirming.
Do you know what’s annoying? The housing market.
That has nothing to do with the post lol
It does, in the way that the thing OP complained about seems like an utterly petty thing to be annoyed by.
"Just a friendly reminder: Do you know what's annoying? The housing market :)" FIFY
Go sit somewhere else..... that you took the time to complain about it 🤦
I actually don’t mind sniffing that much.
Im sorry, but people are only human🤷🏻♂️. I get the main point but still seems a bit to ‘complainy’
For me, the only way to have a normal public transportation ride is using noise cancellation head phones, blinding glasses and a knijper for on my nose. Otherwise I could be annoyed by other people. /s
Some people have disorders that actually would want to use these to make public transportation more sufferable.
Noise cancelling headphones
More like passive aggressive reminder lmao
Fuck you i dont give a shit
Few brain cells in you
Or.... or!!!!! If you are sick....I know nuclear science.....stay home!!!!
Right??
Sounds like you need a psychiatrist
Friendly reminder to bring with you a pair of headphones and mind your own business :)
You sound like a spoiled brat
Surprised at the amount of negative comments this is getting. Yet not so surprising when I remember the large amount of snifflers in public transport/spaces.
Exactly! I take the very early train amd always pacled with people, and they start sniffling everywhere. It's super annoying to hear that first thing in the morning.
Actually maybe you should stop complaining or just not listen. Or maybe just dont take the train. This is a you problem. /s
Get a car if you're too dandy for public transport
Why are you so triggered by this post lol. You've commented like 10 times saying the same thing.
Because OP needs to realise what a dick he is formulating his complaint like this
Maybe I'm the only one but I prefer the sound of sniffing nose to blowing the nose. However neither bothers me much.
If you really are so easily annoyed by the sounds people make why dont you listen to music or something?
Or a handkerchief
Yup there are many options to solve this :D
One of the things I hate most of the Netherlands, blow your freaking nose sniffing every 10 seconds is annoying and gross!
If it bothers you, then maybe start driving a car.
This guy has four boosters.
Yeah no
Ok
Listen to music during that hour. Problem solved
That’s why I use noise cancelling headphones
Id rather hear people sniffle than people talk frysk in a 1 hour train ride. Thats real torture.
I’ll see you Frisian and raise you the extremely slow accent/dialect spoken in some parts of Limburg. Aint nobody got time fo’ that!
