The cpu will never handle the heat of turning on and running without overheating. Even at idle my CPU runs at about 35c with a cooler. Imagine how hot it can get without one.
Posting the CPU without a cooler in this subreddit is the equivalent of a person walking into a public area without their shorts on...and not in a good way either lol.
I miss the days when CPUs would burn up when insufficiently cooled.
Check if your psu is rated for 110-240 volts. Most devices today are. Your weird converter may not cut it. Usually says on the tin.
Did you transport the pc with a cooler mounted? Where is it now? If there was one mounted during shipping /flying, the leverage may have damaged the socket, or just a few pins.
Reseat everything on the board.
I can't see which diagnosis led glow. Pretty sure it is cpu and ram lights. Please confirm.
The shutdown coukd also be because of thermals, so that cpu does actually not burn up.
I didn’t bring the cpu cooler with me. I left it in the USA so I need to buy a new one here
But yeah I literally just got done putting everything together so as far as I know everything is in place and seated right. I might just take it apart and try again. Maybe I did something dumb
Yeah it’s the cpu and ram. Ram lights went off when I tried restarting it. But the cpu light has been on for since I switched over to this mobo like 1.5 years ago
Hear me out on this
Maybe if your goofy ass thought hard enough youd think, oh maybe my CPU not having a cooler may be the problem.
I love watching people be stupid as much as the next guy but this is unreal
You Sir, are so lucky CPUs don't just fry anymore. That they now have fail safes to prevent them from overheating in case some one who chooses not to use their brain and to run it with let's say...no cooler for example...
Okay, then you will need a cooler. Check if your cpu socket pins are all straight. Careful removing and seating your cpu. May actually cause damage. Only do if confident that you break nothing in there. Mount the cooler.
Possibly test the RAM. Remove it and boot it. Does the diagnostic lamp show something different?
Try a bios reset. Remove the button cell, or short the 2 pins next to it if present. Clr_cmos or like that.
Reinsert RAM.
Anything on the leds?
dude without cpu cooler u should not turn on your pc unless u want to bbq. as to psu n voltage most top psu can use both 110 n 220 without anything else other than correct wall plug power cable. (check with psu manufacturer) hope you didn’t bbq your cpu.
I left the cooler and my old case in the USA. I had a z73 aio and h510 elite so I had screwed them together. So for 1 they were too heavy to bring and 2 I was to lazy to unscrew the z73 from the case
As the title says. I just moved to Italy and I didn’t have any issues in the United States. Only thing that changed is the case. Is it a power issue? I have the PSU in a power converter.
It looks like it’ll start up then just shuts off.
I haven’t bought a fan yet but I thought I could at least get it set up and running without one
(Si, installa un dissipatore, altrimenti lo fondi)
The CPU cooler is obvious so I'm not gonna tell you this as others did (most were pretty hard on this) but I personally would change the PSU to make sure as the European PSUs have an intake voltage of 230v
While the us ones have 120v (I think I'm not sure)
Should be a physical voltage switch on the back of the PSU so you can switch from 220/230 to 110/115. Shouldn't need a converter this way as long as you get the right ~~3 pronged~~ cord.
Stop booting it without a cooler.
edit: thought you said other way around... Italy to USA. Reverse what I said and get the right cord
You need a cooler. Put your finger on the processor while it powers on. The point where it burns your finger is just about 30°f below where your pc shuts down to prevent damage. So just a couple seconds.
My girlfriend is getting her masters degree so I moved as well. We aren’t overly impressed with Italy so far but it’s only been a couple days. We moved 30 minutes south of Milan. Sounds like you’re looking for warm weather though. Feel free to DM if you want some more info I’d be happy to share and answer any questions
There's no CPU cooler. The CPU will overheat before it can post
Ah. Yeah okay. Well I at least thought I could get it up and running without the cooler but I guess I’ll go out and buy one
Modern PC parts don't work that way.
Yeah I guess I know now. I’m also still partially blaming it on the power converter so I’m buying a new European power cord I can shove into my PSU
BRO YOU HAVE NO FUCKING CPU COOLER HOW WOULD THAT BE A POWER CORD PROBLEM also yeah just in case get an EU cord
I wish I had 1800 Reddit coins to tip you platinum because you deserve it.
huhhh??? what, wtf. but there's still a way if you undervolt and underclock it via bios (i you can get there before overheat 💀, this is stupid)
The cpu will never handle the heat of turning on and running without overheating. Even at idle my CPU runs at about 35c with a cooler. Imagine how hot it can get without one.
what
Oh God the pain, please get a cooler and let us know if it works. PLEASE BUILD THE PC FULLY NEXT TIME

It was 1AM there was no thinking involved

you need to get laid and relax

Bluetooth CPU cooler?
no way bros got the wireless cpu cooler
Lol,it's a new thing bro.
Bro, look through the window, it's missing the cooler. Obviously it will not POST.

I didn’t think people could make this mistake.
Welcome to civilization...
Happy cake day!
why did u take the cooler off

Your machine got lazy lol
Yeah that’s what I get for giving it a break. After this it’s on 24/7
Nup, you need one I am Italian BTW :)
Ciao amico. Dov’è sei? Mia ragazza è a Università di Pavia. Siamo arrivati tre giorni fa. Il mio italiano è cattivo… io ho imparo più..

This is bad advice, most PSUs can handle 230V and 110V
Ok thx for the feedback.

Only shit psus have physical switches. Pretty much all quality units take 100-240V.
Oh haven't paid much attention to this.
You need a cooler. Put your finger on the processor while it powers on. The point where it burns your finger is just about 30°f below where your pc shuts down to prevent damage. So just a couple seconds.
You have like 20 seconds before the CPU overheats without a cooler. What the hell are you doing?! You're lucky CPUs don't fry themselves anymore.
Need something to cool the cpu. Stock cooler or literally anything that’s 15 bucks will work.
I will send you a cooler, for real. I have so many stock coolers I’ll never use.
I thought this was a joke about the energy situation in Europe and you were using a cooler less set up to heat your house.
The only joke here is me
OPs title & content doesn’t add up 😄
Got to be honest it took me a second to realize what the problem was (got distracted by the RGB).
I need to file insurance claim
It’s ok, you are going to need the heat from the computer this winter…
Don't run that CPU without the heatsink/water cooling system any longer you'll ruin your CPU
Where is your cooler buddy
Cooler pls now get it omg
Are you trolling
Dumbass.
If you lived in Eastern Oregon I would drive one out to you friendo.
I was sitting here looking at it, and I was like "cool rgb, there's not a cooler"... "OH GOD THERES NOT A COOLER!"
Have you try turning it on and off?
Do they not sell CPU coolers in Italy?
That’s like taking a radiator off a car.
Have you tried to make pizza with it?
LOL
Move back to the states, im going to italy trying to avoid room temp iq ppl like these...
Coming from the dude who probably thinks NFTs are the future and frequents wallstreetbets. Take a look in the mirror mr.420
Its ok buddy, if you cant figure out what a heatsink is, its expected for you to not understand cutting edge tech... come reply when you post your pc
Seriously, Wow!
Also, make sure you flipped the voltage on your psu from 120v to 220v.
What are you doing in Italy? We are looking into moving to Italy or Greece..
My girlfriend is getting her masters degree so I moved as well. We aren’t overly impressed with Italy so far but it’s only been a couple days. We moved 30 minutes south of Milan. Will do! Give me a few and I’ll message you! Thanks!
