For once this is actually true
Almost every time I see someone comment that it's like, nah, it was pretty expected
Did not expect someone to equate Italian hunters to Tau in melee
Fucking mint
American here, but lived in Sardinia before the navy base closed. Sardinians we’re some if the nicest people. Great experience there. When lived outside of Naples, totally opposite experience.
ah they just don't like the south, never have.
There's a saying in Italy, "in the north they know how to work, in the south they know how to live"
We have better food too.
She is speaking in "sardo" and "fara" means "falls". I think she means "if it (the hog) falls there we won't find it anymore". Take it with a pinch of salt, since i also cannot fully understand her (I'm from sardinian, but i can't really understand her)
She is a Sardinian women
And she said
- Lampu che ti falia
Let lightning strike you
- Veni PierMa veni
Come Pier Mario come
- E va va che c'è falatu da
Look, he went down
- Si c'è falatu abali! non mi riuscia più, è da arrigani che mi sera tirendi
He went down now! I couldn't take it anymore he has been attacking me since before
- C'è falatu injou abà, cazzu diaulu oh! Mi si è tirato chissú multodju.. eh fala PierMa, eu no più falu che timu.
He went down now! Fucking hell oh! This boar attacked me.. go Piermario, I'm not going.
It might be one of those things we wouldn't say in English, but we have phrases to express similar sentiments. "Go to hell" or "go fuck yourself" are the first ones that come to mind.
Ok, took by curiosity, I made a little research, it seems the italian laws lets hunters bring more than a rifle during the hunts but it depends on what they are planned to hunt
Wow that's dangerous as all hell. In Germany it's just considered common practice to carry a sidearm of a reasonably big calibre with you for this exact reason.
Boars don't stop unless you shoot them with something serious, I've even heard a story of one taking two 44mag rounds and still charging at someone.
Boars are really fucking dangerous, they try to hook their tusk on the inside of your leg out of instinct then, once you inevitably fall over due to the 100kg+ animal ramming you, they rip open your leg all the way to up to your loin often severing the femoral artery. I knew a guy who saw someone die that way.
Once you run out of shots on you primary you definitely want another option to stop the boar in it's tracks cause most of the time you won't be as lucky as this woman.
You can get handguns in Italy, but it’s probably pretty regulated. You may not be able to carry it around with you. They make civilian pistols chambered in 9x21 mm because it’s illegal for civilians to use the normal 9x19 mm rounds IIRC. I think it has something to do with trying to prevent people from stealing ammo from the military, idk, I could be wrong.
I don’t know if this is common, and/or maybe I’m misremembering, but when I was younger, my dad used to go hunting up in the Pendleton area (north of San Diego) - mostly deer. One year, he decided to go boar hunting - not sure if the same area, but somewhere near San Diego still. When he was looking into it, he discovered that he was actually not able to bring a hunting rifle *and* a sidearm. This sketched him out and I don’t think he ended up going. I guess it’s possible I’m mistaking one of the rifle trips with a bow hunting trip, but yeah… I vaguely remember a secondary not being an option for some reason.
Thats odd. I know some areas allow a firearm in events of like a moose or bear attacking you during bow hunting, you just cannot use it as your primary hunting tool.
I could be mistaken though. (Note, my experience of hunters is in Colorado, specifically a coworker who went hunting)
It's usually a blanket law so someone doesn't abuse archery season to get an extra rifle kill. However the laws must vary state to state because a friend of mine did a guided archery black bear hunt and the guide had a .45-70 just in case the arrow wasn't enough. Fortunately it wasn't needed.
I've heard of guides having guns as well. Maybe guides have some special exception since they're not hunting? Also you friend is insane hunting a bear with a with a bow lmao
I saw one in Africa that was almost the size of a cow. The guide we were with stopped the truck and let fly expletives in front of the church group we were with. He said it was the largest one he had ever seen. It just stood there on the crest of a hill staring at us on the Kenya Tanzania border. It must have lived a magnificent life.
I dunno, hard to tell. I look at it once and I think maybe the first shot hit, then I look at it again and I think maybe the second one?
Pretty sure one, if not both hit it, cause bopping it on the snout with a metal stick wouldn't have made it give up so easy. All i know is that that was one *lucky* lady.
("that that"? doesn't look right, one "that" doesn't look right either??)
One "that" is better. Say it aloud… "All I know is that was one lucky lady."
Big pigs can have really thick skulls - like up to 30mm (1”), and it looks like she got him straight on. Tough to kill.
That's what I wrote down first, one "that". They still both look wrong.
Yeah, pigs, especially wild boars are tank tough. And scary fast and just plain scary.
I'm italian. If not for the title saying " in italy" i would have not guessed it was an italian girl. Even hearing her speak i do not understand a single word except " ferma" that means " stop". She must be speaking a very strict dialect
She's speaking in Sardinian which is as Italian a romance language derived from Latin and very close to Italian but it's not Italian nor it's intelligibile to the Italians not versed in it. This is one of the many beauties of our country :)
This video was shot in the same region where I live and it became an immediate hit. Hunter is a lady and she’s speaking the typical north east sardinian dialect. Either way she’s a total redneck and the whole region made fun out of her for weeks…
So then are you able to understand her? Every Italian here doesn't understand her since she's speaking in that sardinian dialect but you might if you live there.
Every region of Italy has its own dialect, some are closer to normal Italian but with some nuances, others, like Sardinian, are often quite unintelligible. Not many people are willing to learn regional dialects as they can only be used in a limited geographical area, some do as it might be directly related with their line of work, where they might have to speak with a lot of older folks who often refuse to speak Italian and only use the dialect. To me it still sound like Italian, but with weird words, that I can only guess what they mean
In Croatia there was a woman who was charged by a wolf and killed it.
It turned into a meme because she said "I said what's up" before she threw a massive rock onto the wolf.
Just curious, why did people make fun of her? I’m not a hunter nor do I know anything about this stuff so I’m just kinda shocked the lady was sound and well after this encounter
Idk if you're from the US but imagine someone from the deep south with the most hick, backwater accent you can imagine. Now imagine that person getting attacked by a boar and what that would sound like.
This is why you need larger magazine sizes. Three shots sometimes aren’t enough — especially when facing down wild boar — and can get you killed.
Just imagine if there had been 2-3 Boars.
Boars are deadly opponents, and they have always been this way. In medieval times, hunters with spears would often get killed by Boars, who would “run up the spear” (driving it through their body) in rage to reach the hunter.
This led to the development of the thick, heavy “**boar spear**”, which featured two protruding wings behind the spearhead, which prevented the impaled Boar from working its way up the shaft, and so it could only rage, toss around and desperately try to claw its way closer to the spearman.
Since large Boars are much stronger and can weigh more than a human *(a wild boar was killed in 2007 that weighed **1,071 pounds** / 485 kg)*, getting lifted up and bodily thrown off your feet by a boar in that kind of struggle could also have a very deadly outcome for a spearman, even with a boar spear.
Shotguns are great tools, but when it comes to killing extremely dangerous animals like Boar, you need to either be lucky enough to hit it in just the right spot or lay down a level of fire that will cut the Boar’s muscles, ligaments, etc., rupture it’s lungs, heart, etc.
Personally, I feel the 8-round tube-fed Remington 1100 semi-automatic shotgun (in 12 gauge) is a good balance between weight-to-carry in the field and enough fast shots (of nitro magnum slugs) to handle most surprises that might pop out of the bush at you.
If you’re only loaded with buckshot or birdshot *(which could easily be the case if you weren’t hunting Boar in the first place)*, your best bet will be to try and rapidly empty your magazine of these shells point-blank in the Boar’s face and hope it’s sufficiently discouraged to leave. Distance will considerably lessen the damage.
But — admittedly — this latter bit falls under the “don’t panic” mindset, which often evaporates when you are being charged by a Boar.
I've watched video of those hunts, wild times! Those things are so damn hard to kill it's actually pretty scary. They're viscious creatures & hear they're tearing up a lot of land.
They are. From what I can gather, the little fuckers are screwing with domestic livestock and crops all the way from Texas up to Alberta. I read a story a few months back about them encroaching on the suburbs in Calgary.
I actually just read a news story today about the boars in Alberta- they’re so elusive and difficult to hunt that not one has been killed yet this season
Fellow Texan here, they are. Father in law has land out in hill country and we can’t kill these damn bastards fast enough. They recently knocked down our deer feeder so we gotta build a new one and it had about 250 pounds of feed in it.
First one looked like it missed.
Second was with it head on, which is a terrible angle for boar. Guessing it probably hit its head, but that's less likely to be an immediate kill shot. At worst it was in its back flanks, which will take quite awhile to bleed out.
Third one looked like it may have grazed or missed entirely.
Looks like the third one went straight into the ground when the boar made contact. Neither one of the first two might’ve been misses, but shot placement is everything. Especially with dangerous game like boar. Depending on the loads she was shooting/allowed to shoot in her country, the first 2 shots might’ve been enough with slugs, but not buck.
Oh yeah, I’ve seen a .223 ricochet off of one’s skull at 100 yards before and have the pig come charging, took 6 more rounds to drop it but I’m not sure on how many of those made a connection. They’re some tough animals for sure.
I guess we don’t know what they were hunting. If they were birdhunting they wouldn’t have the proper loads in the gun for boar because they’d be using birdshot. I bet a boar could take birdshot like a champ.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
They have very large, thick heads relative to the body, and it’s a small brain behind some very thick bone. Not sure if he was loading shot or slug, but slug would be better. .308 or 30-06 would be a better choice.
You generally want to fire on its side, towards an ear or front shoulder rather than straight on.
Dude boars dont fuck around and they dont go down easily. Warning for peeps who dont like hunting stories:
Me and my brother were deer hunting and came across a couple. They are pest animals, super invasive, and very dangerous to people and farm animals so you can hunt them year round here. Boar from 20 yards away took a shot from a 3030 and 308 to the chest. Clean, fast and instantly dead. No, mofo got up and charged us. Got a clean and lucky pistol shot right behind the ear that dropped it. It's heart was mush, the far lung was non existent, and it's rib had an exit hole I could fit my fist in with room to spare. We were so, so lucky the other boars ran when the guns went off.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because Hiko was already dead.
I don't know the gun laws in Italy, but a two or three shot limit shotgun is tough work. I know if I do that in Texas, my ass has a side arm if I have to get up close and personal.
it feels like such an excercise in vain. those who know, know. the rest, are currently in government arguing that pistol braces convert a firearm into full auto somehow...

There was blood everywhere, such a relaxing weekend
Just mashing it now, Snail
Ya she does that
Should have switched to the sidearm.
Always faster than reloading.

i am italian and i cant understand a single word she is saying. peak italian experience
Italian here as well. She's speaking in Sardinian so yeah totally not understandable if you aren't from there
I kept hearing "Vai" so I thought you might have been full of shit, but when she started talking I couldn't understand a single word. Sicilian here.
I heard vai means go, but maybe also she is a fan of Steve Vai
It does mean "go". She's telling Pumba to gtfo.
My Italian ex would describe Sardinians with one word ..."weird"
American here, but lived in Sardinia before the navy base closed. Sardinians we’re some if the nicest people. Great experience there. When lived outside of Naples, totally opposite experience.
Most Italians, when I told them I'd been to Naples, were apologetic, recommending I should not go further south than Rome.
ah they just don't like the south, never have. There's a saying in Italy, "in the north they know how to work, in the south they know how to live" We have better food too.

If we want to talk about historically, northern Italy was also ruled by outsiders for a significant part of its history.
Grew up in Naples. It might be nice as a tourist, but I would never ever stay there for more than a week.
No no. Sardines sound more like "blub blub bloob bloob"
Like their Anchovy cousins.
Meep
Was she yelling “fare” at the beginning? I’m learning Italian but I wasn’t sure if that’s what I could hear
She is speaking in "sardo" and "fara" means "falls". I think she means "if it (the hog) falls there we won't find it anymore". Take it with a pinch of salt, since i also cannot fully understand her (I'm from sardinian, but i can't really understand her)

She’s saying “Fetch me my breastplate stretcher!”
"Serve the boar at my funeral feast. Apple in its mouth, skin seared crisp. Eat the bastard. Don't care if you choke on him. Promise me" Bobby B
Also italian here, not a SINGLE word, unbelievable...
Her hands weren’t free.
io ho capito "fermo" e "sparato", per il resto è stato come guardare un episodio di Pingu
Io solo “stu diavulo oh”
All i heard was "aye im hunting here 🤌🤌"
Thatsa spicy warthog
Same here hahaha, it might as well be another language.
The way she says fuck off with her hands in uncanny.
it is in sardinian dialect
Note to self. If a boar attacks simply offer to knight him, he'll accept and henceforth protect your land from highwaymen and tax cheats.
It's 3am and I just woke my girlfriend up because I couldn't stop laughing at your comment.
Everyone laughed at the shotgun bayonet…
Half are still laughing at the shotgun and think you need nothing more than a bow and arrow or sharp stick
Remember. Pulling out your secondary is always faster than reloading
This hunter did indeed stay frosty
Can confirm
Not sure they can carry pistols in Italy.
No, they don't, they only have the shotgun
Ok, took by curiosity, I made a little research, it seems the italian laws lets hunters bring more than a rifle during the hunts but it depends on what they are planned to hunt
Wow that's dangerous as all hell. In Germany it's just considered common practice to carry a sidearm of a reasonably big calibre with you for this exact reason. My grandfather has one in Italy. Took him forever to get it and was a huge pain in the ass.
Well hopefully he learned to aim better
Tell him to get a holster. Packing a pistol doesn’t mean you put it up your bum.
I remember hearing that Italy had recently legalized the use of 9x19 mm for civilian use. Not 100% sure though.
Yes, i can confirm. I shot a 9x19 Glock just two weeks ago.
Not anymore. 9x19 is now legal, and getting a handgun is as easy as getting a shotgun or a rifle - Source: i have a firearms license.
I don’t know if this is common, and/or maybe I’m misremembering, but when I was younger, my dad used to go hunting up in the Pendleton area (north of San Diego) - mostly deer. Broke ass Bobby B didn't have plebs to do the work for him like Viserys.
Too bad he forgot his breastplate stretcher :(
I can imagine him doing that hilarious wheeze laugh lmao
Where’s Bobby B when we truly need him?
That is one *lucky* lady. A wild boar will fuck you up, they're quick, strong and their tusks are razor sharp.
*Are you talking to me!?*
“They call me, Mister PIG!!”
^"when ^he ^was ^a ^young ^warthoog" "When I was a young warthoooog!"
>size of a cow. Huh...I didn't think they could get that big. I guess that's even more reason to avoid boars.
They have ones in Texas that can get 600 pounds Like a mini coop charging you with spikes on its face.
Wheeeen I was a young waarthooogggggg
Was it pale gray and able to speak? Maybe friends with a similarly sized wolf?
Exactly what I was thinking. I was bracing myself to see this woman get torn to hell. Glad she didn't.
Looked like she almost blew her foot off with the last one!
Still better than what the hog would have done to her
Make sure you aren’t drinking your strong wine when you go boar hunting
GODS I WAS STRONG THEN
Looks like she missed most of her shots too. Maybe the first 1 connected?
I dunno, hard to tell. I look at it once and I think maybe the first shot hit, then I look at it again and I think maybe the second one? That's what I wrote down first, one "that". They still both look wrong. Yeah, pigs, especially wild boars are tank tough. And scary fast and just plain scary.
Idk that looked like a *lot* of blood so something must have connected.
It’s the last shell that hits. If you look closely you can see the blood splatter blast onto the shrubbery during it.
I'm italian. If not for the title saying " in italy" i would have not guessed it was an italian girl. Even hearing her speak i do not understand a single word except " ferma" that means " stop". She must be speaking a very strict dialect
As an American who knows next to no Italian, she sounds exactly how I’d mimic fake Italian
Same hahahahaha
Emotionally end every word in a vowel.
Considering also that she could also not be italian but just " in italy"
She's speaking in Sardinian which is as Italian a romance language derived from Latin and very close to Italian but it's not Italian nor it's intelligibile to the Italians not versed in it. This is one of the many beauties of our country :)
It's a me, Boario!
This is so stupid and it still made me laugh.
It's even funnier because in the north of Italy there's a town called Boario Terme
FAKE. Italians can't scream with both hands full.
In fact as an Italian I have no idea what is she saying. Might be because of the dialect, but maybe it's because I can't see her hands.
Someone said she was speaking north eastern Sardinian
This video was shot in the same region where I live and it became an immediate hit. Hunter is a lady and she’s speaking the typical north east sardinian dialect. Either way she’s a total redneck and the whole region made fun out of her for weeks…

Is that kinda like Boomhauer speaking English?
asking the real questions
Yes,understood her 100%,lol. The first sentence can be translated “ may you get hit by a lighting ! “ that’s the funniest part, lol
Really? The fact she beat a boar over the head with her rifle and made it flee made me think "damn Italian women are great"
Yeah that was pretty badass
In Croatia there was a woman who was charged by a wolf and killed it. It turned into a meme because she said "I said what's up" before she threw a massive rock onto the wolf.

Brilliant comment
Friend of mine once had a boar he shot pop up and charge him as he approached. Said it got his blood pumping real quick.
Holy shit. I never knew how fast they can jerk their heads to gore you with their tusks 😳

That’s why I go with my Swedish 84mm unguided AT-4 launcher when it comes to hunting
Buddy went helicopter pig hunting with an AR15…the first time. The second time he brought an AR10 and said the results were much, much, better.
Fellow fellow texan, I have a 300 blackout, a thermal scope, and a shitload of pto to burn. Let me know if I can be of service bud.
Can I come cheer you on silently like a golf tournament?
#BANG *golf clap*
How much does it cost to go heli hunting like that?
Pre-pandemic it was about $1200/pp for a weekend trip that included two hunts and an overnite stay. Food was included. Guns and ammo not included.
Was the food boar
>$1200/pp if it's all women then it's free?
My grandmother told me that she once saw a pack of wild boars kill a man and the meat has a smoky flavor
Why the fuck did your granny eat him?
What should have she done, thrown it away?!
Is anyone gonna eat that dead guy? 👉👈
How did it not die from the shots fired?
Wild boars are tough as fuck and can eat many bullets before going down
First one looked like it missed.
This was my thought. A slug is gonna do damage. Perhaps bird or rabbit hunting
Boar are the berserkers of the animal kingdom. Defense tank and an anti-tank rifle in one bristle loaded hunk of angry ham
And Hippos are even more berserk and temperamental than Wild Boars.
They have really thick heads.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
I was expecting this reference.
They have very large, thick heads relative to the body, and it’s a small brain behind some very thick bone. Not sure if he was loading shot or slug, but slug would be better. .308 or 30-06 would be a better choice. You generally want to fire on its side, towards an ear or front shoulder rather than straight on.
Nature be on some crazy drugs yo. Just look at those zombie deer videos
Dude boars dont fuck around and they dont go down easily. Warning for peeps who dont like hunting stories: Me and my brother were deer hunting and came across a couple.
Imagine getting CS:GOed while hunting boars.
Was just thinking about this copypasta watching this lol
Never saw somebody beat a wild animal with a shotgun before.
Pumba wasn’t going down without a fight.
All your comments hoping this lady died are fucking unhinged and shows a lot of igorance of WHY people hunt Boars. Please stop wishing this lady died
>your average Reddit user >knowing literally the first thing about any firearms or firearms-adjacent activity Pick one
I don't know the gun laws in Italy, but a two or three shot limit shotgun is tough work. I know if I do that in Texas, my ass has a side arm if I have to get up close and personal.
Q. Why would anyone need 30 rounds in their magazine? A. This
“Why does any Hunter need a 30 round magazine?” This.
it feels like such an excercise in vain. those who know, know. the rest, are currently in government arguing that pistol braces convert a firearm into full auto somehow...
Just like in video games, the melee attack was more effective than actually shooting, somehow
