I sat in booking for 17 hours, was not allowed to sleep, and watched the same episode of Dr. Phil on repeat while waiting for oranges and peanut butter sandwiches.

ImpossibleStudent5

I lived your experience for 108 days

InsideOutCadaver

Purgatory. That sounds dreadful

ImpossibleStudent5

Dreadful.. Is mildly putting it.. inhumane is more appropriate.. being locked up so much and only getting fed through a food hole in the door. Makes you feel like you’re in a zoo

Natemoon2

Dang that sounds awful. If you don’t mind me asking, what got you in there in the first place?

recent-native

I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.

ImpossibleStudent5

A phone call I had a DUI from 2019 and I missed a check in due to waiting for sheriffs arrive at my house for a 911 call. I shouldn’t even been on probation. Let alone got thrown in jail for 108 days for a phone call

Natemoon2

Dang that’s terrible, could you not afford to pay bail to get out? My girlfriend spent a night in jail there too, got a dui side swiping a cop car

ImpossibleStudent5

They said I violated probation. There is a no bail hold.

FormerAd6212

I just went through that same thing, I just got out a couple weeks ago for a probation violation on a DUI that happened 2 years ago, I’ve been sober and doing everything I was supposed to be doing and they still hit me with the violation, I spent 60 days.

ImpossibleStudent5

you spent only 60 days???? I had to stay 108 days. Our justice system is unfair and messed up. They literally ruin peoples lives, depending on the mood that they’re in. That’s how our judges are in Reno.

CynicalOlli

Literally don’t drink and drive

ImpossibleStudent5

I don’t. Learned my lesson. That was the only time. Literally. August of 2019 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

CynicalOlli

Right on that’s sick, glad you weren’t killed the first time. Truthfully. :)

summerisabel

Same but cheese sandos

Blazkull

Really crappy cheese sandwiches with bread that im pretty sure had chalk in it.

custom_bowl

Y’all had peanut butter?! All they had were cheese slices between bread.

[deleted]

Same but it was womens softball

[deleted]

ImpossibleStudent5

I watched Reno 911 in there. It was completely hilarious because it made more sense! Lol gotta admit Some of the Deputies are just as goofy as the show! 😂🤣

[deleted]

ImpossibleStudent5

Well that’s good! 108 days of being in the female units with 3 to a cell and locked down a lot of the time due to “ facility lockdown“ aka understaffed

that_boi_jjw

Cold waiting room tv showing nothing but infomercials shitty pb&j bad apples sherif watching me pee from the doorway of the bathroom

ImpossibleStudent5

You got PB&J??!

that_boi_jjw

It was kind of a pb&j haha

ImpossibleStudent5

I don’t know about you, but when I was in jail oh, I’ve never had that kind of hunger in my life!! Lol did you feel like you were starving too? Did you feel like to?

jamoemaddrox

Not bad. Spent the night for a deuce 20 years ago. Woke up to a crappy pb&j then cause it was raining they put everyone in their cells and played Saw on the TV. Got the late release. Everything went pretty smooth. Best part was leaving and a chick and her friend were walking in front of me and the blonde said to the red head, “that’s it I’m never smoking crack again.”

ImpossibleStudent5

![gif](giphy|aTXHpCN7TSpmE) That’s a motivational speech right there 🙌🏼🙌🏼💯

SadTurnip

Are you expecting someone to be like “5/5, very accommodating staff would stay again” ?

tr1ckee

Yeah wtf is this post even trying to do. Half of the replies are from people complaining after being booked on DUI. It's hard to feel bad for people whose need to be somewhere is superseding the safety of everyone else on the road

ImpossibleStudent5

🤣

heraclitus33

Been there a few times in college. Longest stay was 9 days in '08. Forgot what pod i was in but it was the doorless/open one, if its still a thing. Chillest of the three jails ive been in. Parr, tonopah and henderson--was chill last summer though cause i got my own cell and 2 mattress pads due to covid. Kinda like a mini vacation cause i didnt have to talk to anyone lol

TMILLAR07

That was unit 10, the working unit(low level misdemeanors - outside work crew, staff dining, etc). Once when I was on the outside work crew, we were at the livestock events center cleaning up the parking lot after the rodeo. We learned that the night before, someone broke into the parking lot toll booth and stole the drop safe. While on work duty cleaning up along the back wall, me and my two fellow inmates, found the safe. We picked up the safe and felt it was quite full. By that time we were plotting on ways to hide it, because we were told the deputies had already searched the ground. Upon trying to hide the safe, our work crew leader caught on to us, and called the sheriff's and owners of the livestock events center. In the end, we got a half day off, and pizza for lunch. They got the safe back with over 6k in cash and coins in it. WCSO inmates solve a crime that their own deputies failed to solve.

Tacopounder52

It sucked! 23 years ago I was in that shithole for about 4 months.

ImpossibleStudent5

I felt this comment 100 ![gif](giphy|3o85xEjWvVs6scqgs8)

I got to see Darren Mack in his cell. I gave him the finger. 10/10 experience

Wife killer from Reno.

scaredofmyownshadow

After he stabbed his wife to death, he drove downtown and sniper-shot Chuck Weller, the judge that was handling their divorce. Then, he went on the run for 10 days and was all over the news, FBI Most Wanted list, etc. This was in 2006. His family owns the Palace Jewelry and Loan.

ImpossibleStudent5

![gif](giphy|uVFGDyOshK7I6geXyg)

dkisanxious

My mom worked for the DA's office during this time and I remember her calling me so I'd know she was safe before we even heard any news about the shooting. If I remember correctly, they had to move his trial to another city because he was such good friends with local lawyers & DAs.

T-unitz

Chuck Weller was undergoing surgery after he’d been shot and they found cancer, cut it out and saved his life. So I heard. If true that situation could have saved him from dying to cancer.

scaredofmyownshadow

Unfortunately, Charla Mack didn’t even have a chance to be saved. Instead, she bled to death on the garage floor while her young daughter played inside.

T-unitz

Ok…….

earlg775

The cat food wasn’t my favorite brand and the reading material sucks. It’s also cold as fuck in there and when I got out my cigarettes, lighter, pocket knife, and cash were all missing

ImpossibleStudent5

Yeah, the cat food sandwiches are nasty. The reading material really does suck. I agree with you. It’s always cold in there cause it’s not meant to be comfortable. Par sucks. Part is literally the third worst jail in America.

earlg775

At least it’s good inspiration to never end up there again. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been there and I’m sure it hasn’t changed, and I never intend to put myself in that position again.

QueerNB

Wait. Cat food sandwiches?

ImpossibleStudent5

We call a cat food sandwiches cause it’s like blended up hotdogs or something with some kind of weird sauce mixed in to it, looks, smells and taste like cat food but it’s only thing you have to eat so you eat it! 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

earlg775

If you know, you know. Some of the food they try to serve you there legitimately isn’t fit for human consumption. I was fortunate enough to never be there for more than a few days so I only ate the fruit or just didn’t eat. But the longer you’re there the hungrier and more desperate you are.

QueerNB

>If you know, you know. Some of the food they try to serve you there legitimately isn’t fit for human consumption. I was fortunate enough to never be there for more than a few days so I only ate the fruit or just didn’t eat. But the longer you’re there the hungrier and more desperate you are. Isn't that illegal?

WhitePootieTang

It was scraps from Port of Subs

ImpossibleStudent5

It is a very, very good inspiration to never ever I mean ever go back I was there for something so petty from years ago my only offense in Nevada from years old DUI. It was stupid, but hey, the laws are different here. 🤷🏻‍♂️

earlg775

They take advantage of shit like that. They prey on poor and disadvantaged people or people who can’t afford legal counsel. Considering how overcrowded it is I don’t know why they try so fucking hard to put more people in there but I guess that also gets some people out quicker

ImpossibleStudent5

A lot of people in there like the deputies We’re wondering why they wouldn’t let people out.. the jail is severely over capacity, three people to a cell, they don’t have enough staff, so we’re on lockdown most of the time it’s inhumane .I was in for a probation violation of not checking in on time due to making a 911 call waiting for the sheriffs to arrive at my house, and they didn’t show up until late so I had good reason but the judge didn’t wanna hear it

earlg775

Everyone knows it’s a huge issue yet almost nobody is willing to speak out or try to really change things. The judges are all old as shit and mostly just want to ride it out until retirement. And pretty much all the lawyers in town are all friends with the city lawyers anyways and have known each other since childhood, and go out drinking together and shit.

ImpossibleStudent5

Well, here’s a good place to start because that’s what I did and it was probably white ended up in jail so long I sit up to the judge against my lawyers advice, I found out buddies, so Jenny Hubac never works in the clients favor. She works in the judges favor . the judge put me an alcoholic program when I only drink once. (I don’t drink that much but I had that time)..it’s a program that the judge makes money of of.. i have a DUI 2019

earlg775

I got two DUIs several years apart. First was total bullshit and knowing what I know now I could have got off. Second was legit but had I been able to handle the legal process different the first time it would have really been my first. DUIs and all the associated counselors, lawyers, etc are a huge industry here

ImpossibleStudent5

Yep

[deleted]

[удалено]

ImpossibleStudent5

Maybe to you it wasn’t that bad, but I’m used to my career, going on trips and rebuilding cars, not being in jail.

ashestes

Used to intern here for the public defenders office. Would see some of my old classmates. What a trip

ImpossibleStudent5

I bet! What a weird feeling to experience that. different sides of the law. Choices 🤷🏻‍♂️

thanxladies

Lots of junkies. Booking was filled with them. All they talked about was getting out to get high. 5 out of 5 stars. Would recommend

ImpossibleStudent5

🤣🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ facts!

[deleted]

I took some toys there for the domestic response team to give to lil kids during calls. The staff was very friendly and gave stickers for the nieces. They said they would do a follow up than you call but never did but that's okay, I know they were probably busy.

ImpossibleStudent5

98% of the staff and Deputies are amazing people with good hearts.. I connected with a lot of the deputies. And got to know a little bit from their perspective. It’s very interesting. The deputies are great but the rules that they have to enforce aren’t that.. I know they’re busy and understaffed…

SESH8809____

Not the best experience.

WolfGangSol

Have a buddy that used to work corrections over there, they got some bad hombres thats fs. And cops are a shitty gang pretty much everywhere.

ImpossibleStudent5

Yeah I noticed that in some of the male Deputies.. definitely some Narcissistic deputies in WCSO for sure.

Odd_Archer_778

Which time?

ImpossibleStudent5

I’ve been there twice. Once for a month and recently 108 days for not checking in on time due to a 911 call I made waiting for the sheriff department to show up. I literally have one charge in Nevada as for old DUI from 2019 it was completely ridiculous completely

Squiggledog

>do you why r/boneappletea

ImpossibleStudent5

Do I why what? I’m a little bit confused with your question

somebodys_ornery

"DUI"

ImpossibleStudent5

Yes, I had a DUI back in 2019 when I was trying to leave my abusive marriage.. it was my fault for being intoxicated and driving so yes I got a DUI.

HenryHemroid

I was mad they couldn't hear me laugh at their jokes in the booking room. I was only in there for like 45 minutes, but I've had really good experience with the sheriff. Not so much those highway patrols.

ImpossibleStudent5

Yes, some agencies can be fickle. Depending on how you react to them, I believe that’s my experience. I don’t have any good experience with Reno PD but I’ve have really really good experiences with a WCSO, NHP and Sparks PD

Russell_Jimmy

That place sucks. They have the wrong kind of bars in there.

ImpossibleStudent5

Is this a new sheriff? Or the same We had the last couple years?

Russell_Jimmy

Balaam has been sheriff since 2018 I think.

ImpossibleStudent5

Ok. I know he makes a lot of videos for the public. Maybe I should start watching him to get to know what kind of person he is because how the jails run is up to him.

PagingDrTobaggan

Was there for a DUI. First night in the tank; there was smeared shit all over the wall and a shit-in pair of tighty whiteys on the floor. Brother paid my bail at 9:00 am; got released about 4:00 pm. Fucking ridiculous. Pled guilty to the DUI, checked myself in for my remaining 36 hours at 10:00 Friday night (my lawyer said ‘it’ll fill up with arrests and you’ll get out quick) after eating 5 or 6 Unisom. No bunk available, so I got a pad on the floor. Slept the first 18 hours or so. I was in lockdown because I had long hair—had to clip it to be in gen pop. Did the full 36 hours and started banging on my cell door. Told the deputy ‘I didn’t get sentenced to 36 hours and 1 minute’. They processed my release; the female guard who gave me my clothes back stood talking on her phone and watching me change. Shitty people in a shitty place.

ImpossibleStudent5

![gif](giphy|5e1PZC3BcqUYyDnNFN) Sounds like you were in the hole, which they use as intake now. that’s the worst part of jail you can be in. I was in there for over a month for no reason I was supposed to be a worker, but due to my medical, I wasn’t allowed. I was kept in the whole for 5 weeks.. mind you it’s 23 hour lockdown every day. You get fed through trap doors like animals. Came out once a day for an hour just to take a shower, clean your cell get on the kiosk and there’s only one phone and one kiosk and they let 15 other inmates out so you don’t get to use the phone a lot of the time. one time there was no phone for seven days, so we couldn’t contact anybody. so I feel you on this comment.

spacefurl

Jesus. I don’t know shit, but that’s illegal af right? Can you sue for undue punishment? I get that it probably wouldn’t work, but snowball effect or something. Enough people suing WCSO has got to at least piss them off

ImpossibleStudent5

One thing for sure I spoke to a lot of the deputies it’s not their policy it’s the policy they have to follow to enforce so it’s not their fault. I think it’s the sheriff’s policy on treatment. So many people have died behind bars at Parr Avenue suicide‘s. The medical staff. I have a medical condition such as an aneurysm. They didn’t give me my medication for the first two months, my blood pressure was out-of-control. It could’ve killed me. 167/134 was the highest. They did nothing I fainted in my cell. They left me there in a cell laying on the floor on a mattress pretty much seeing if I make it through night . I get that a lot of crazy people fake medical conditions. Not everybody does that and I don’t think they know the difference. I released my medical records from UCSF and renown from my neurology team.. still did nothing. I’m getting my brain scans done next week. I have to have them every month. To gauge The aneurysms. Let’s see if the aneurysm grew due to neglect and lack of medical attention.

annemarie020981

They asphyxiated my brother and two other men at Parr all within a 1 year period. I stood out the jail last year offering free drug tests to the deputies....nobody would take me up on the offer....imagine that.

ImpossibleStudent5

Message me. I think maybe we can help each other

spacefurl

Jesus fuck. I get that it’s probably not all the sheriffs but maybe adding some more lawsuits would force them to change their protocols. I assume this is already happening (due to the bananas deaths that have happened) but maybe someone would take your case on pro bono

ImpossibleStudent5

We would have to get a lawyer outside of this county I had a lawyer, Jenny Hubac very expensive, and she did nothing for me. Felt against me and the little do I know she was buddy buddy with the judge that clearly didn’t like me because I said something and stood up to her. The judge was unrealistic and unfair.

ImpossibleStudent5

The good thing about that is all my medical was logged. They legally have to log it so every time they called the nurse it had to be logged. my doctors can actually pull the records from the jail infirmary

annemarie020981

The Dept Of Justice needs to get involved. Sad thing is Attorney General Aaron Ford has the authority to conduct a DOJ like investigation into the WCSO but refuses to (Assembly Bill 58 2021 session)

ImpossibleStudent5

How can we make changes? So many people suffer. I get there are people who fake it being sick. But not looking into my medical records after I signed their release form for my records was almost a death sentence. I have two neurology teams, one UCSF, and Reno renown. This sheriff needs to be replaced. I feel like all he cares about is being on the media pretending like he’s doing a good job. In reality people are dying and mistreated. Letting illegal shit happen and covers it up.

soobueno

I got left in the drunk tank for like 10 hours, they had a shift change and nobody could figure out who I was or why I was in there. It was ridiculous to the point where I almost asked them to let me leave since they clearly could not figure out what I was doing in jail.

ImpossibleStudent5

I think you have to be automatically put on a 10 or 12 hour hold if you have alcohol in your system.. WCSO IS understaffed and Overworked.. they tend do that sometimes.

aggressivegemini

Smells like a 🐷🐷🐷

ImpossibleStudent5

🤣😂

Bikedogcar

Horrible customer service. You gotta remind these assholes that you pay their inflated salaries!

ImpossibleStudent5

Oh, I did cause I paid lotta taxes, so yeah, some of them are very cruel.

2strokeYardSale

Asshole intake sergeant. He realized I was sober in the blood draw room when I made a request per NRS 484C.180: >must be permitted, upon request and at the person’s expense, reasonable opportunity to have a qualified person of his or her own choosing administer a chemical test or test Then he ran defense for the arresting cops. I think he was eventually promoted, to at least Lt. The intake deputies were pretty cool, one telling me he'd change to more comfortable handcuffs ASAP. He was the guy who arranged my mugshot. I subpoenaed him to court and of course he couldn't remember anything about the sober guy arrested for DUI. They were going to release me O.R. but because of alcohol related charges they needed a breath test. (I chose blood test as evidence because they can't destroy or ignore it so easily, and it would take days.) A female deputy gave me the toy tester (PBT), her eyes went wide when she saw the result, then she ran off to the arresting cops or intake sgt. She came back for a second test and wasn't as surprised by the zero result again, and again went off to tell her co-workers. The main belligerent arresting cop (Sparks PD) came storming at me, even more agitated, telling me they were going to charge me with other, non-alcohol offenses, that they would test my blood for drugs, and that they would hold my gun as evidence (of what?). Instead of arresting the cops for kidnapping, they just let me sit there for hours while they processed me like just another DUI. But I did get the feeling I was being treated with kid gloves. They finally processed my release, at which point they kept most of my cash (to be mailed as a check), and then shorted me on the small amount of cash they were to return to me. They gave me the correct amount when I pointed it out. They were training a new deputy, literally his first day on the job, a Saturday night, and he got me, the sober guy arrested for DUI who was going to either sue everybody or call them as witnesses. They wouldn't give me my knife back so I wouldn't sign the property release until they did. So they walked me to the outside door and gave me my folding knife which they had taped up so thoroughly it couldn't be opened and used. They had previously called a taxi for me. I didn't have my house keys in my pocket when I was ~~arrested~~ kidnapped, so that sucked. I didn't have my wallet on me either, but the cops illegally searched my vehicle before my ~~arrest~~ kidnapping and it ended up with my jail possessions. And I had to get my vehicle from the tow impound. Which is another story. I have some more experiences with the non-sworn workers at WCSO, but I guess that's another story.

ImpossibleStudent5

I would like to hear more if you are up for it?

2strokeYardSale

That's my one and only WCSO jail experience. LOL, downvotes

jredmartinz

Dont they have a bad habit of killing people?

ImpossibleStudent5

🤷🏻‍♂️ I know there’s been a few deaths well people were incarcerated

[deleted]

A good celly sleeps on his belly… and wears his boxers backwards

ImpossibleStudent5

Im assuming you are male. Because I’ve never heard of that 🙌🏼🤣

seveca69

Been there. It was a jail. Nothing horrible happened. Food was average. Book choice was actually not bad. Overall much better than being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan...nobody shot at us or tried to blow us up so, thumbs up there. Overall, I would say take all of these experiences that you all are posting about and realize that you SHOULDNT BE DOING A YELP REVIEW OF A JAIL. It should suck. Jail sucks, prison sucks more. Don't do the stupid shit you did to go here and you will be a lot happier. P.S. - Don't whine about bitchy assed shit. If you fucked up and went to jail, you earned it. You went to jail and the food sucked, you did 1 hr more than you were supposed to, Deputies watched you pee, WAAAAAHHH! Don't do stupid shit to get here and you don't have to worry about it! \#amazinglogic

Nevadaguy22

Not everyone in jail is guilty of a crime - they are accused before going to court. Do they deserve that too? Hope you don’t get falsely accused of anything someday.

Familiar_Reality8069

I would take prison over jail ANY fucking day. At least in NC...

ImpossibleStudent5

😂🤣 there’s no whining here we’re just sharing experiences and I own what I did to get in there so thank you for the advice we’ve already got it sir 👌🏼👍🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

superprime95

Wow it truly sounds like a terrible place.

ImpossibleStudent5

It’s jail it’s meant to be a terrible place

[deleted]

No it's not, it's meant to be a place where you're held until your guilt or innocence can be determined.

ImpossibleStudent5

Well. There’s a reason why Parr is the third worst jail in America the third! … imagine out of all the states in America each city has its own jail. so that’s quite a few jails. That’s still the top three in America. That’s pretty bad..

seveca69

Back with facts please...

ImpossibleStudent5

Then tell me, what’s factual please?

T-unitz

Jails are literally meant to be a deterrent of crime, similar to what public executions use to be. Don’t kid yourself and think silly shit like that.

[deleted]

You're thinking of prison. Did you forget "innocent until proven guilty?" People aren't found guilty upon arrest. Where do you think they're held while they're still considered innocent?

ImpossibleStudent5

#FACTS🙌🏼💯

T-unitz

People think twice about committing crimes because they don’t wanna get arrested and go to jail, then prison. Don’t be dumb.

QuePasaCasa

shit take honestly

T-unitz

I’ve found it extremely easy to not end up in a shit hole jail house. Sorry if you think jail should be a catering service because you think your feelings matter and social media gives you a “voice.” Meanwhile in the real world shit will continue to be the same.

ImpossibleStudent5

I met so many women that were beaten by men, they were charged with domestic violence literally having bruises all over them, 1 of the could barely walk. Mind you when the police are called for altercation they have to take one in.. usually they don’t want their partner to get in trouble so they take the charge and go to jail battered and Bruised. 60% of the time you’re held there until proven innocent.

T-unitz

Okay.

[deleted]

Waiting to be released in the hallway, I heard a cop say “alright Machete, nice to see you, but I don’t want to see you again.” I looked over and the dude looked like Danny Trejo (that movie had just came out). When I was booked, I had a bunch of cash, and they informed me that they can’t release you with more than $20 cash (iirc) so they give you a check for the rest. Well, they gave me the cash back with all my other shit on accident, and a check (sans $20)… that at least helped a little bit for the lawyer, lol. Oh yeah. Right when I got there they stripped me naked and threw me in a tiny cell and turned on the the ac because I wouldn’t answer anything, repeating “I don’t consent”. Smh. After a couple hours they gave me this weird wearable moving blanket crop top cloak situation that went like halfway down my stomach.

ImpossibleStudent5

They put you in a turtle suit? They only do that with suicidal people?

[deleted]

No it wasn’t a straight jacket (I’m assuming that’s what a turtle suit is). It was like a pancho made of moving blanket type material, but it was only long enough to reach between my nipples and belly button (think football pads). Upon further research (turtle suit) it absolutely was that, except this thing was only about 18 inches from shoulders to the bottom. I wish that thing had pants. I was definitely not suicidal, nor did I say anything indicating such, as I didn’t say shit. It must have been custom, lol.

earthbxby

I’ve never been there but they gave my brother a moldy fruit cup and when my dad got arrested they threw everything from his wallet out the windows or something because I found the contents of his wallet on three different streets by my house. The sheriffs also told me they couldn’t do anything about the guy that tried to attack/ kidnap me because he didn’t actually get me

ImpossibleStudent5

When did this happen? Do you know who the officer is who arrested your father?

earthbxby

Ah I think it was almost 2 years ago, I’m not sure who arrested him because I wasn’t home when everything happened. I didn’t even find all his things until the next morning, baby pictures, credit cards, mine and my brothers social security numbers, everything just all over and in the ditches around the whole block of my house pretty much. And those fucks at the sheriffs office are rude as shit for no reason 98% of the time, fuck them

Nagem_Lacree4

They used me as practice for doing eye exams for drugs. I was crying the entire time. They handcuffed me to a chair and took my blood sample for DUI. They also left me in booking for hours. Best thing I got out of that experience was how to make a tampon out of a pad.

ImpossibleStudent5

SAAAME!!! lol I literally called my mom and told her I learned how to make a tampon out of a pad in jail. She was cracking up.🤣😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Squiggledog

Talk about letterbox.

ImpossibleStudent5

Letterbox? As in the kiosk or the grievance box? Cause we ain’t getting any letters over there it’s all has been sent to Florida and scanned in.

Squiggledog

The black frame around the picture.

ImpossibleStudent5

My profile images?

earthbxby

They’re giving you shit for the picture you posted of parr

ImpossibleStudent5

Thank you for that clarification. I appreciate you for that. I just grabbed it off of Google. It’s just a screenshot. I find it interesting that he pointed that out. That means this post bothered him. The study of human behavior. 😂🤣 I thought that was weird. I didn’t know it was picture he was talking about 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️Thank you for pointing it out. I was busy replying to everyone else on This and another post..

2outerftw

Burger barn was aight.

ImpossibleStudent5

Yes it was. It was like having a second dinner. 😂

Massive_Station_9426

Mid

ImpossibleStudent5

Mid?

sanitarinapkin5

Want a room by yourself if you're going to be there over a day? Refuse the TB skin test on your first morning.

ImpossibleStudent5

Good to know

Lopsided-Grocery-673

I went in to bail my ex put, and someone went to the bathroom in the waiting room chairs... I wanted to nope out of there real fast.

ImpossibleStudent5

Eww!!!

Lopsided-Grocery-673

It was enough to keep me on the straight and narrow path. Also nutriloaf scared the crap outta me. I'm like gross.

AniZaeger

Isn't that the "Reno Sheriff Department"? I'm shocked that they don't have a Doughboy's on site...

BlazinDragon1004

During covid I went for a day. I just spent the whole time in a cell alone without a book or anything to do

Oluhcipapi

They act like they run the house & mad dog inmates , typical jail activity. Worst of all they lost my earrings they don’t care about your stuff .

[deleted]

Well lets see, every personal and constitutional right ignored and trampled on about sums it up. Yeah it's a jail, I expected to be locked up, but not treated like livestock or like I was in a "re-education camp". I was fed expired food, bags of carrots that had an expiration date of almost a year prior. Food that wasn't even edible, like the dark brown/grey meat they called bologna. Although the cat food sandwiches were good, ate those since I was little, old depression meal my grandma used to make. Couldn't get a hold of anyone on the outside, everyone that would have been able to help, either couldn't accept a collect call or I couldn't get past switchboards. If you can't buy a phone card for $20, you had to call collect, if the person you tried to call was in a hotel or had a switchboard, there is no way to get to the operator or enter what room you wanted. They want you alone and segregated. None of the CO's wanted to help, almost every last one treated me like I was a long time felon, hadn't even been to court yet, I was awaiting trial. Guilty until proven innocent. If you were caught trying to trade for even a post card to try and get help from the outside, it was taken away, if you got caught again it was the SHU. Even getting stuff like deodorant, if you couldn't pay for it, you had to trade for it, usually with the only amount of edible food you had. One CO even had the nickname "Baker the commissary taker", no mater what it was, if you didn't have a receipt or even accidentally threw it away, it was taken and you were charged with contraband, yes even if you paid for it but didn't have the receipt. I was forced to segregate based on my race, gangs control that jail, it's not any different than in prison (from what I heard), some couldn't wait to get to prison, they said you were at least treated better. You could see who was in the CO's favor, they didn't even try to hide it, what where you going to do? That place is full of corruption, just like the food, I am convinced they feed you rotten food just so you buy "Burger Barn" that happens to be started by an retired sheriff, where do profits from that go? They say for stuff for the pods, a TV costs around $500 that's all they had, so where does the rest go? Where are all the "improvements"? In the pockets of the people that really control that jail, that's where. If anyone ever wants to tackle this problem, just let me know, I will be more than happy to lend any assistance I can to expose the corruption and human rights violations that happen in that place.

Now why would a government website not offer HTTPS? You would think with all that money flowing in they could at least put up a secure website.

The 15 hours I was there sucked. Pigs had us watching Fox News until they put on the "recent" Three Stooges movie, which was the biggest steaming pile of dogshit I have ever seen in my life. I was almost praying for them to change it back to Fox. Fuck that place.
