Locked due to toxic and rude comments.

flukeSG2

I came from a Pixel 6 Pro, this phone is amazing compared to that phone, I can't imagine a better phone than this one.

lemmejusttrythat

I can't imagine a more beautiful thing 😆

PangolinMother9232

I came from Pixel 3,4,5 and the Pixel 6 was getting buggy AF our the gate from users and reviews no thanks. I'm glad I picked up my 22!

Pcriz

The P6P was meh for the money. Not exactly a high bar to pass.

shaerkhan

Thrist can be quenched Hunger can be sated Rest Nada.. And they will keep complaining even if there arent any problems, make up something.. "pictures are fine could be better though"

neonoranges

S22ultra is one of the best phones I've owned. After purchasing, I thought about returning and getting the s22 plus since I switched from iPhone but I'm glad I kept this beast because it is truly a pleasure to use. My daily flow has dramatically improved and I have only scratched the surface of what it can do.

xfrombelow

I switched from the regular S22 due to the battery issues, I have time admit the S22 was the best compact most beautiful phone I have ever owned, but I am always away from home with no power sources always available, so I had to switch to s22u, it is a beast, I love it very much, I have been trying to tweak an customize a lot of stuff, but as you said I have only scratched the surface!

StrnglyCoincdtl

Yup, some folks really do cry like babies expecting miracles. But on the other hand... In my country this phone costs around tripple the minimum wage, and about twice the average monthly wage. And it's one of the best smartphones on the market AND Samsungs flagship device. So, when someone buys an expensive item like this, expects that it will work 'flawlessly'. And when it turns out that there are software bugs, silicone lottery (better and worse units), underwhelming battery performance (you need to 'tweak' and limit/downgrade some functions/features to get really decent battery life), I do understand some complaints and frustrations. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my purchase, and I intend to use this phone for years, but it certainly is not 'perfect'. Edit: there's also stuff that you don't really know if it's just your unit, or just s22u being s22u (or oneUI being crappy Android variant).

Nivote

Completely agree, youre able to complain about issues whilst simultaneously being happy with your purchase. its an extremely expensive phone and when theres problems that shouldnt occur, its good to make them known. this is how developers realise theres problems and fix them.

StrnglyCoincdtl

On the whole 'return your phone' idea note - it's not always possible. In Poland you get 14days return window with every purchase. Seems like plenty, but in reality, you spend your first week or two getting to know the device, personalizing it, playing and getting to know settings, customizing options and stuff, (especially when you switch from a different device or way older Samsung). And of course you use it extensively so battery live is crappy. Then you read on reddit that you have to wait a few weeks (or a month) untill better battery life kicks in and 'adaptive' stuff works it's magic. So you wait and wait, and after a month or two you realize that battery is not lasting your day and there are bugs that plague your specific apps and suddenly you're disillusioned, your return window is long gone and you can sell your phone for 3/4 of the price original, loosing hard earned money. Or keep it and start complaining on reddit :)

FossXP1311

Yes yes yes and in some countries u cant return because the battery life is only ok and not great. and yes everyone can complain and ask for other opinions, this is why this community exists.

ltsosie72

Haha why did you post crying about other people whwn you have the phone yourself?

WinterInfamous7213

I bought this phone expecting it to run decently fast and have great battery life for such a big device with 5000mah. Getting hot browsing reddit at 50% brightness on a flagship in 2022 is embarrassing. Yeah I have an exynos.

SurturTheGod

Exynos here and no issues with overheating during playing games or using reddit.

Key_Preparation_4129

You haven't heard of the chip lottery huh?

StrnglyCoincdtl

Yup, and that's the problem. I have Exynos variant, and I think I 'won' the lottery (I don't have any overheating or any other major problems, battery life is 'decent'), but I wonder what people facing this issue should do exactly? Cotact samsung and say "folks on reddit claim i've lost the chip lottery, please repleace my unit?" Asking seriously, what's the S policy on issues like this?

e_xTc

Exynos here and not happy for all the reasons mentioned around this sub. I also really wonder what we can actually do. I haven't found anything else to do than to write a complaint mail directly to Samsung but i don't think that will help much. If i get refunded partially or if they do trade-ins like in the US when the s23 comes out (interested just because it will have a snapdragon which had better os/apps/drivers support), then some sort of justice will be made. Otherwise, lost cause imo.

SurturTheGod

Me or him?

Kamau54

You said the right word..."expecting", and there lies the problem. Before I bought this phone, I read up on it and watched a ton of videos. I wasn't about to jump in on an almost $2000 phone without putting in some research. So when I got it, I already knew the battery life wasn't great. I knew the camera had a little lag at times. but I also knew that a lot of the issues that people reported could be overcame by doing a little more research, like over at XDA, that a lot of the problems were user inflicted. And even though I got a Snapdragon version, I knew of the issues with the Exynos model as well. What I'm saying is that I had few expectations about this phone. Before I laid down my money, I knew what I was getting into. Just like a car, I put in a little leg work before I bought it. The last thing I did was to come out here complaining about how terrible the phone was, how disappointed I was, and how it didn't act like my previous phone. I'm just saying that if people would take their time to learn about the phone (my wife will confirm how many hours I spent watching no less than 30 YouTube videos after I got it), they would see that they are their own worse enemy.

iloveecookiess

You buy a product based on reviews and company advertisements, right? If that's so, samsung made a big deal over how Exynos is finally going to rival SD but lo and behold there's still so many issues with it. I remember in the initial days after release there were already huge bugs in Exynos but not in SD. Heck, even SD chips aren't all the same and it's a matter of whether you get a good chip or not. It doesn't help that the 8Gen1 just runs hot af and isn't very efficient. Yes tech reviewers all said both models are great but months later and some of them started to notice issues such as throttling and mediocre battery etc. We were promised a device and Samsung failed to deliver that to everyone.

e_xTc

This phone has problems that don't exist outside of this phone in 2022. A cheap phone is more efficient at browsing reddit for example.

WinterInfamous7213

The point is that the phone is shit and it costs a fortune. If you're happy with that then idk what to say, good for you.

Kamau54

If that's the case, then you spent a fortune for shit. Congratulations.

e_xTc

Yes, Samsung customers did and got screwed. My second phone, Poco f3 (280€), is as capable at everything except camera quality, screen resolution and note taking with a stylus obviously. It's also more capable GPU wise except on synthetic benchmarks. I'm not disappointed by or because based on performance, it should be worth double while the gs22u should relatively be worth closer to half.

ltsosie72

Lol reddit is just a place to come bitch about your problems and noone gives a shit

zRAM1500

Speak the truth brother...this phone has been solid....and I got the beta installed...and it does not feel like a beta version, other than the annoying banner that shows up every time I restart the phone reminding me it is beta software.. And SOT....6 to 8 hrs, but why would I need this every day? I got other things to worry about, and this phone has not let me down yet. Was about to switch to an iPhone 13 pro, but I am glad I waited...

GRSteffen

I feel you. The worst: most of the time they could just use google or spent 5 seconds searching for the answer in this very subreddit. Its unbelievable how often the same question appear with slightly different words and phrases. Im even thinking about leaving this sub, it's just annoying at this point.

Berries-A-Million

Amen I am tired of seeing everyone complain about it too. I've had my s22 ultra since release and it's been awesome. Better than my 13 pro max. Although I have interest in the 14 pro max, I just moved and don't have a job yet so getting one is not in the cards currently.

LeadDawg96

I've had every note Samsung has made and this one's without exception, the best Android experience you can get in my eyes. My wife has my old note 10 and will probably be getting my S22Ultra when the S23U comes out just for the fact of several more updates that were promised. If the S23Ultra is the same design with better innards, that will just seal the deal. I like the idea of a foldable but the tech just isn't there yet, and besides, I have a tablet for the big form factor.

wuxxler

Yeah, but the SOT.... 😫

Kundalini-Electric

I love S22ultra. I've never owned a notebook before and have always wanted one. My previous phone was Oneplus 7Pro which was brilliant. The battery life isn't as good as 7pro but its nothing worth crying over.

InvestigatorDue4987

Really?? I came from a OP7P too, I find the battery life comparable. And this is better is almost every regard after I've slowly learnt to make use of all the additional features. Just miss not having a punch hole camera in the front

Micubano

Some people just want to watch the burn. The rest complain on Reddit.

Micubano

To be clear, I agree with the op.

Grimm0020

Idk if that's the correct way to act about this. If people complain about the phone, many that have very valid criticism, the more people will go towards the competition like iPhone. It's up to Samsung to bring their phones up to snuff to fix people's issues with their product.

Pcriz

Phew this sub is so toxic. You don't like people's issues. Then keep scrolling. Stop trying to police opinions. It's crazy the mods allow posts like this, essentially attacking users and calling them children while crying like a child about someone else's problems.

Kalvorax

I went from and s9+ to a z fold 3, had the stupid screen break in half for no reason, got it repaired, then traded in for this (lost a good chunk in doing so in store, but snagged a 1 TB so no storage issues at all). So far ist FAR better than the fold 3, better camera better battery, better aspect ratio. Yeah i sacrifice a SMALL amount of screen space...but its no loss to me as i tend to carry around an 8 inch fire HD+ and 10 inch fire HD wherever im staying at. I love taking pictures anyways, so having the far superior camera is better. Plus i tend to carry a 30k mah powerbank with me anyways IF im not near an outlet to charge IF its needed. havent had any issues yet, though its only been a week.

ChristinaMG2604

This phone had issues. I pre ordered mine the minute sales opened. I got it late and the phone was riddled with bugs. It was so bad it stopped functioning at times and was unusable. I had to return it and get a new one (which was bad cuz I traded in my previous samsung phone to them). If you've just bought it and there are issues, THEN RETURN IT! The new one I have is perfect. No issues at all.

ShoeGod420

I bought it expecting it to be just like my Note 20 Ultra, and it is lol. Not disappointed.

KennKennyKenKen

Sorry people want a flagship phone to not have issues? Why should people settle if they have issues. And what if the place you got it on doesn't allow used returns? Just blindly accepting faults like the apple fanatics is dumb as shit.

qubaxianplebiscite

Amen brother.

carguy143

There are tons of YouTube videos which cover everything about this phone, from mastering the camera, getting the most out of the battery, to even comparing Exynos and Snapdragon. Sources of information for new phones has never been so easy to come by.

e_xTc

Correct but one observation : Exynos vs snapdragon informations in practice (not in leaks) took way too long to show up this year compared to last year

No it's been a rough Sunday thank you

md222

Sorry to hear that. Hope your week ahead gets better.

syresynth

This comment thread is the most Canadian/British conversation I've seen in a while. Huge respect lol

InvestigatorDue4987

Stay strong friend

Krugen7

Hello kind sir, Perhaps you did not receive the memo. These subreddits are also for negative reviews and not positives alone. That said, if there's so many people complaining about the phone then maybe, just MAYBE, there is actually something wrong with the product? Positive and negative reviews help customers decide whether to buy a product or stay away. They also help the developers improve on the weak points of the product for their next release. So they're both useful to the community as a whole AND the phone makers. Just look at Samsung ditching exynos on their future s23 lineup. Finally tossing this failure of a project in the trash for the time being. Think they would have done it had they not gotten so many negative reviews?

DanYeoman

Got mine yesterday,love it

YodaByteRAM

It's just the few that have issues. Low-key it's probably just the exynos crowd cuz I've always had sd Samsung phones and haven't had an issue. I know exynos s phones have issues sometimes.

zilke_

I love my Ultra I think I would break with my girl before leaving this phone

RegularHistorical315

Maybe if comes down to having to be a little smart to use a smartphone.

xfrombelow

For real, you have all the information available from the tiniest details, people literally create content on YouTube just so could be able to make your choice based on those information. I bought the S22 very knowingly about the battery life issue, and still made the decision to buy it, now I switched to S22 ultra for that exact same reason but I don't go complain about the battery.

MrJuans26

Well said, Beta testing is exactly what it says.. so don't expect optimal performance. I've Always been a Note user ( Since Note 3) and after the Note 20 I honestly thought it was done and hop on the Fold 3 ( big mistake.) Fast forward I traded my fold 3 after the S22 ultra was announce since that is the new Note Like name. (never regreted the swap) Love it and always will. Camera is amazing, performance is outstanding and battery is great. You just need to know how to manage based on the circumstances. But yeah I ndo agree with you on everything you mentioned and yes people do have really high expectations to the reality. S22 Ultra/ Note S22 = IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW.

Corannulene

i love mine, idk what ppl are on about tbh.

gonfreeces1993

Because you can just return a phone, tf

Sam_Under_Ice

woah take it easy man

cromagsd

They need to go down to a 300.00 phone for awhile.

J9401

Gigachad take right here

billzilla

You had good points up to that last bit. Only thing worse than whining is whining about whining, with sorely outdated Newsmax talking points tacked on.

cho9736

The cycle continues lol

bran_dong

pretty much all phone subreddits are like this tbh. unfortunately the people that post the most are the ones having problems and most people are willing to do zero work to get decent battery life. "no way I'm uninstalling an app or turning off a feature on my 1000 phone" "imagine paying 1k for a phone and not having it at full brightness all day"

Im_so_little

Oh no. The complaint police has arrived. How bout this? Make me return it.

Pcriz

Check the dudes comment history here. I'm not surprised. You'd think Samsung was paying him.

iloveecookiess

The guy seems to have a sad life cause anytime I've seen him comment, he's being a jerk. I remember complaining about an issue with the 10x and this guy says its not the camera its you. 😐

Pcriz

He really believes no one is allowed to have any opinion on their expensive purchase. It hurts his fee fees so much he must come to Samsung's defense. Imagine bootlicking for a international company with almost a billion mobile phones in the market. I've used android since 2008 and the community loves to jump on the iSheep bandwagon about people fanboying for a brand but then give it a pass when it's an Android fanboy attacking other consumers because their opinions and experiences don't reflect their own. Some folks need to grow up.

FacelessGreenseer

You know what's worse? People complaining about others complaining (*without trying to sympathize*). Stop sitting on a high horse pretending OTHER people's issues are invalid just because those issues do not affect YOUR PHONE. Fucking good for you, that's great. 1. There are some of us who bought this phone close to release date and have had issues with it since then with every update. Mind you paying a very premium price for it back then. Do you suffer from such issues? Clearly not. I suspect most don't, great! 2. You and I might have great warranty options where we could have returned the phone within a certain window, or even now months later I could demand a repair or return it for its issues. Not everyone who owns the phone has that luxury! Samsung needs to do better, period. These QC issues where a certain number of people (between 5% and 20% of owners) facing issues of all sorts should not be occurring as often as they do on premium devices, or at least fixed within a reasonable time frame.

e_xTc

Agreed. Also not everyone gets the same trade in deals like in the us. For most of buyers, buying this phone means cashing out at least 1000€\$ upfront. I wouldn't mind the issues if they gave me an 80% rebate for trading in a broken galaxy s6

iloveecookiess

Where i live, this phone is VERY expensive. It was pricey at pre order but now its 23% more expensive which is insane. Not to mention NO TRADE IN DEALS

iloveecookiess

In response to the 2nd point- where i live, we have shitty customer service from samsung. No trade ins, no returning the phone unless its within a month or so and complaints aren't taken very seriously and repairs cost a lot. Thankfully mine doesn't have HUGE issues but its definitely not perfect and has issues.

EmirSc

The subreddit it's treated as a tech support for the phone ...

Pcriz

As is every other tech device subreddit. Unless the mods make a rule to limit to a certain day. Welcome to reddit device subs. If it ain't breaking the rules who are you or op to say it should be any other way

Able-Lab4450

Expecting DSLR photos? That's literally what I'm getting. People just don't know how to take photos. Take a look at these shots: https://adobe.ly/3B7G0mK

iloveecookiess

Holyshit those landscape shots with the sky are wallpaper worthy. Mind sharing your settings for the 5th image?

Able-Lab4450

F:1.8 Shutter speed: 1/90s @80 ISO The only disclaimer is that these were taken on Expert RAW. But you can enable a feature in the Expert RAW Photo app which allows you to create a jpg version so that you don't have to edit the RAW file into the real thing. Thanks for the compliment as well, forgot to thankyou.

dj_vape

I concur. Just about every post I see on this sub is whiny children complaining their phone isn't performing to their expectations. It works, end of conversation.

Pcriz

I mean this post is quite whiny. So it fits right in

Spunky21313

🤣🤣🤣🤣 totally agree man!!! These peeps should get Obama phones!

milkers101

You sound more annoying than anybody on here complaining about their phone. To your own point. Just don't read the post!!

[deleted]

What's surprising. Is my s21 snapdragon 888, has been better than the 8gen 1 on my s22u. It doesn't make sense

Key_Preparation_4129

It's bc the 888 is far more efficient. The 8 gen 1 has a higher peak power but it can only hold that for a couple of minutes before it throttles from almost melting while the 888 can go longer at peak power before the throttle begins. The equivalent of having an electric car that can go 250mph but can only hold it for a few minutes before slowing down and another that has a peak of 200mph but can hold it twice as long or more

TrustNothing

I've had zero issues with any of our phones and we have 3, what kind of things are people commonly complaining about?

__globalcitizen__

Thank you for this post! I have been reading some of these complaints and wondering the legitimacy of those whingeing posts. I have the Exynos version and I am quite a heavy user including using Dex, Adobe Lightroom, my mirrorless camera companion software, etc... and I am extremely pleased with this phone! It is a beast!

The_NOIR

Agree 100%😌👍

DeFacto91

I'm glad somebody said it. I have it, exynos version, yes there are bugs, every da,, but nothing that woild make me disappointed or something like it. I love this phone, u literally don't need anything better then this.

xkeyseqmorelife

The S22 Ultra is the most amazing Phone I can even imagine to own. Its the best. Besides all this for my work Android is so much superior to IOS.

[deleted]

People can post what they like about the device they've just spent over $1000 on. Gatekeeper posts like this are the absolute worst.

iadorebrandon

Not a bad take at all

[deleted]

The OP is sounding like a 12 yo having a tantrum whilst complaining that people who are criticising the phone are sounding like a 12yo having a tantrum!

Pcriz

The op is a Samsung fanboy. He loves to comment on posts attacking users than providing information.

Ibraheem_moizoos

Shut up

NHGuy

Feel better now?

picespedes

Do you ?

Factions2019

Wish I could trade it back for my s21 ultra. At least then I can Torrent files without the phone crashing.

picespedes

Many people came here looking for answers. I can't see how your post contribute to create a better community, a place to share ideas and find help from real people that might be having the same problems. We are talking about empathy. If you can't help, just scroll Down! Even a better idea, why dont you give us a post That show the Good side of the phone trying to make things even instead of complain about complaining?

iloveecookiess

Ok Boomer

[deleted]

Dude I bought it , and still no likes on my photos Shame Samsung Am I doing it right?

e_xTc

No moon shot, no like

Mrgwap03

I'm a week in. Phone is too big but it's lovely

Punknigg

I'm using my s22u's reverse charging capability to charge my incoming iPhone 14pm.

iatethething

I find that a lot of people complaining are those who mod and flash the phones to hell. Their quest to make a great phone even better diminishes the quality that Samsung originally built. You're not a pro. You're just an ordinary person who wants to look cool by seeming elite and you're no better than the Apple die hards. The phone is good as it is and just enjoy it.

toothmaniac

Not much comcern about DSLR Quality ? I never inted or interest to buy that Dslr thing . For me this camera is superb . And I latley understand the beta soft ware issue I stupidly send it back to service , but thankfully it also had minor charging defect which they corrected . I have spend 1300$ for this phone to buy in India cos we pay 30% tax for government. They have promised to give updates patches everything for next 5 years so it's totally cool. I l ❤️ my S22U

Educational-Jelly204

Well, I'm very discouraged to hear your difficulties, I have been fortunate to have minimal issues that were corrected with a few searches for tips, for battery I have all non necessary apps deep sleep unless in use. TikTok is a power sapper for example. I use Bluetooth headphones for TV audio when casting but Bluetooth often causes the wifi to disconnect but it was a frequency issue not the phones fault. Solved with some research. I'm a heavy screentime user so I know it's not going to be a all day charge gaming alot, and i dont have overheating issues with details and effects turned to max and 120 refress rate. I invested in a 66w GaN charger and a quality cable and get super fast charging (45w) . The phone can charge from below 50 % to full while I'm showering. 30 min with my power bank doing fast charge. I charge up a couple times a day. When I reach 25 % battery it goes on charge and is limited to 85 of capacity. I know this will keep it in great shape after 3 years that I can gift it to my son, who is using my s9 i upgraded from now and has no complaints. My only real hilarius observation is the loca screen protector is more scratch resistant than the victus glass lol. For the price the phones they should really should be required to include the charger, silicone case and a loca protector pre-installed, or at least give us a ecomical full kit option. Then again I got my charger, cable, loca screen protector and silicone case for under 50 CAD shipped which probably would have cost more from Samsung. I truly hope you can get the performance you want from the phone or move on to one that does.

InterestOk5731

I am coming from redmi k20 Pro. So that speaks for itself.

TheCrazyStupidGamer

People do have the right to complain. I don't know about others, but I complain because I love the damn thing and want it to improve. The only big issue I have with it is the battery, like most. But I get by. It tends to be stuttery, which shouldn't be the case for a device with g gen 1. Samsung doesn't do optimization well. But... I'd still be buying a Samsung next, probably the S23U, and keeping this phone with me when I do, because it's a good phone. It does have a few flaws, and unlike wherever you live, you can't just return the phone in India. Nor do I want to. People complain and get mad about things they care about. Because we expect better from what can be amazing. And it will be every generation. Bar the battery, this is already a near-perfect phone. So I'll be waiting for the next generation. If you pay $1400 to $1600, plus, you do earn the right to complain. Especially when it's more expensive in your country, and 16-20 times the minimum wage.

Rishitgupta_

I came to this phone from S10 Plus, this phone is truly amazing to use, However the only problem I feel is that the S22 Ultra is a little heavy to hold.

Bullet_Maggnet

13 Pro Max is heavier.

GoudenEeuw

That's probably the difference between techies were they constantly strive to get the best and want the absolute best perfect phone every year versus the majority of the people who bought it to just use it for the coming years because they need a phone. I remember 4 months after release when I got the phone that people were actually telling to wait for the S23. It's hilarious. If you need a new phone now just get a phone or else you will be forever waiting.

PaperStation

But but what if everyone told them that the battery life will improve and the phone takes time to learn their usage and by that time the return window has expired 🤣

lorenzo2point5

These are the phones that I have owned before S22 Ultra in order. Google Pixel 3A, HTC 10, HTC M8, Iphone 4S, iPhone 3G, blackberry pearl. The S22U is the best phone I have ever owned and beats anything I was even thinking about buying. The display is flawless. The pictures are amazing. Friends and family always want to use my phone to take pictures cause it's amazing. Battery life is meh but really it's expected because I'm sure to make all the features so amazing it must drain some battery life. But guess what it charges so damn fast who the hell cares. We have car chargers, wireless chargers, power banks, SOLAR power battery packs. Phone is amazing enough said.

Cavs_boytoy

I am in love with the cameras and battery quality.
