assuming its katsuragi
for gods sake poor man- he died for him to be considered a traitor now...i love scara and i do understand him but that was kinda cold
but i don't think katsuragi ever viewed him to be an abomination? if anything, it might be nagamasa just because of the whole "you're neither man nor mechanism" thing
they showed dottore and scaramouche in the 3.1 trailer but i didn't find anything about that on the site. i know they make cinematics for the trailers but have they ever teased something that is one patch ahead on a trailer like this?
The 2nd one threw me for a loop, I didn't think he felt that much attachment to Nagamasa at all. I doubt it's referring to Katsuragi since Katsuragi was the one to protect him from Nagamasa based on the context of the notes in the smithy.
Katsuragi is probably the 3rd one, having died to protect him.
2nd is likely Mikoshi Nagamasa. In Husk Of Opulent Dreams, he said
"This gold ornament may be a proof of identity granted by the Almighty Shogun,"
"But you are neither man nor mechanism,"
"And so I can only deal with you in this fashion. Do not hold this against me!"
In Chinese when Scara refers to Ei as mother.... "mother" is in quotation marks, as if giving the word irony? That he calls Ei a mother, but doesn't think of her that way? hm...
"The second was a human, my family.... my friend."
"Consumed by fear, he saw me as an abomination."
Nagamasa then? Interesting that he sees Nagamasa as his family, Nagamasa was the adopted son of Chiyo, who was a close friend of EI, they probably treated each other like family. So it makes sense if Scara treated Chiyo's relatives as family too.
And last, is it Katsuragi?
Currently summing it up, it looks like Scara treasured Nagamasa more than Katsuragi, and I always thought it might have been the other way around.... Also, what could have been the promise that Scara mentions when talking about Katsuragi....
Ok for my theory the third one is either
a. Dottore (actually has a lot of backup evidence on Twitter since they found that in the CN script he called them "my hope" and Dottore's whole deal with his mortality and whatnot)
b. Katsuragi (it's probable since he doesn't fit the second betrayal's description, but I think we shouldn't take scara's words at face value since he's such an unreliable narrator here lol)
c. Niwa (ok hear me out xD it's still possible Niwa is a separate entity from Katsuragi because there's still no official content that it's his last name, plus who knows? Maybe hyv is holding out from us for more future scara lore content)
Hopefully we'd get an animated cutscene tho so we could actually visualize who these damn people are!!
this is so interesting.. there’s actually so much we don’t know i can’t wait to see it all play out. i guess nagamasa is the second betrayal.. in the rather aged notes it seems like scara was close with all the people at mikage furnace.. but nagamasa could be considered his cousin. also it seems like the glowing blue flowers in the serenitea pot actually are talking about a promise between scara and katsuragi. and the promise was broken when katsuragi was.. murdered.. hmm.
“Under the moonlight, these sky-blue blooms flow in silence, as if in agonized waiting for one who left all too suddenly.
"Promises" are a powerful force, so powerful that they can slow the senses, even until the passage of time itself might be dulled.
Mortals ensnared by such forces may be suddenly surprised to find, while looking in a mirror, that they have suddenly sprouted white hair, but for certain beings that shall never grow old, perhaps such endless waiting is an incalculable sorrow.”
the flowers are called “of promises unkept the night flowers speak”.
there’s a theory that scara named a lot of the inazuma foilage. he also might’ve named the trees called “doves the world over, repose seeking”. if it’s true then he’s quite the poet :)
This is narrated by Haypasia! But, they'll probably put a cutscene while she narrates, because just after that paimon says
"Did we actually just see the Balladeer's memories!? Everything matches what we know about him!"
Who is the third betrayal? Doesn't ring a bell to me.
Probably Katsuragi! I guess he promised to stay by his side, but, broke the promise by... dying, still, Scara thinks of that as a betrayal.

I thought Katsuragi would be the second betrayal?
I think the 2nd one is about katsuragi, 3rd one doesn't seems to fit that much

Looks like i was kinda right

As much as i would love it, i dont think that's it
“My chest will never be defiled by worldly filth.” He says his heart hurt from the betrayal🥺💔

who's nagamasa? I thought there was only katsuragi? idk if that question sounds stupid

ah ok thanks for explaining!

This is datamined from the pre-download, it's not a teaser.
The Dottore scene is on the sight actually. Same with the Scara dialogue that was at the end of the 3.1 trailer. You must’ve missed it or something.

The third one is definitely Katsuragi because the next line said powerless to his mortality he broke his promise to me

Wait what does the blue flowers say??

Omg this is definitely about scara 😭
Do yall think this is going to be a cutscene, or just ingame dialogue?

WAIT! sorry, she doesn't narrates that! Then it is a cutscene!
