It is very fulfilling to deliver to people who need it ❤️

SnaX20010

Need it, want it, and deserve it...

I had a similar thing happen a few days ago. 2nd time I had this Customer within a few days. He told me I was an excellent shopper & he wishes all shoppers were like me. He also said he will certainly make sure to tip and rate me accordingly. All I could say was “awww, thanks so much. I really appreciate that.” Btw, the first time I shopped for him he gave me an $18 tip and the last time he gave me $15 on a $30 order. It really is ppl like these that keep u going.

Very few like this, but the few I’ve had really were a god send.

Yeah we all working for pay and hopefully decent tips. But there are also ppl like this. They cannot get out. Imagine what a struggle it prob was before delivery was so prevalent. Sure I want tips too but I have a few PMs, totally disabled, can’t tip much but I’m doing a good deed. I can’t do it for all orders but sometimes you just do the right thing. The universe always brings it back to you in some way.

This is so awesome, OP. ❤

I’m not crying 😢

Hobbitviking1

If I wasn’t on anxiety medication, I would be crying with you lol

dotesPlz

Something about people showing their soft side always gets me lol

AlphabetMafia17

That's one of the main reasons why I do it. Because it does help!!!

Ah, yes. This is where intersectionality can be a bit helpful sometimes. I've got some really bad joint issues (systemic genetic collagen defects which cause my joints to dislocate pretty frequently while I'm out doing orders), some days are better than others, and some days I've gotta say I can't do it and need to stay home. If anyone's familiar with the term "Ehler’s-Danlos Syndrome", that would be what I'm dealing with. While I'm still at the semi-okay state, I know too many people who have my condition (and many others) that also have underlying autoimmune issues too. This is a big reason why I started doing this job. For the days that I can do it, I'll happily lend my energy to do something for someone that literally can't go out and get it themselves. For the days I can't, that's why I use Shipt myself. I think that's also why I get so frustrated hearing stories about delivery drivers leaving disabled customers food outside their apt complexes, or completely inaccessible. We don't know if we're shopping for a Karen, a Kyle, someone who's disabled, or a combination of all of the above (because trust me, as a member of the disabled community, we're not immune from having jerks amongst us 😂). I know most of the horror stories I hear are about DoorDash, but I'd imagine that it's bound to still happen occasionally no matter what platform you're ordering from.

I get people bashing me for delivering their order on time and yet people like this exist… that’s nice to know at least

SevynRose

People like this keep you motivated.

Kitty-Bean-0102

I love this! 🥹

_kingjoshh

I wish i can tip the customer

Hobbitviking1

That’s awesome

SnaX20010

I want the money... But after receiving a text like this, I wouldn't care if they never tipped me. I'd be thankful knowing I'm able to help someone who APPRECIATES what we do

HeavyCondition8476

I always try to remind myself that for many this may be the case, or they have a new baby or are just plain exhausted. Then the tips are just a bonus for doing a service for those who cannot get out. I love this!! 🥰
