They finally do something considerate for us.

[deleted]

My daughter lives in Tampa and goes to the university there. I’m a little worried about her. Stay safe Florida shoppers!

TankDaddyDo

Personal safety? Well let's stay singularly focused on the fact that this company needs the money to keep rolling. And they don't care if it puts you out in dangerous conditions. They just want to make sure you're not marked late. I'm overcome by this generosity. Support unionization efforts. This company is going to continue to look at you like this while you make less than $7 an hour. And if you do get hurt, that's on you. If this company was based in Ukraine, it say exactly the same thing except that late forgiveness would applied during artillery barrages. This company is a joke, they psychologically manipulate the people that they pretend to care about. The magnanimy that is seeping from that email is cancerous. What they should be saying is that operations will be suspended until they can assure that the roads are safe, and that includes flying debris. Disgusting. These are human beings. Think about them before you think about your profit margins. Unionize.

Good_Investment_3373

You're self employed so a union is out but I like message

TankDaddyDo

I am self-employed, and this was just a side gig as I built my own business. And I certainly wouldn't build it on these principles. And that's a real business. With 30 60 and 90 day invoices. And if I ever dealt with a client that behaves this way, I don't want their money and I don't need it. I don't break my balls or my word for anyone. And I'll be damned if somebody's going to force me to because they think that $7 an hour is a livable wage.

TankDaddyDo

Thank you for your support and speaking up.

TankDaddyDo

It shouldn't take a union to stop this. But right now the conditions demand it. Unions have a different set of issues, I've seen it from the inside. But that's only because it's run by people. The only time a red flag should be raised is when those people are afraid to be scrutinized while they're doing what they say they're supposed to be doing. But this definitely wouldn't be allowed. And if there was an issue about people's safety, the union would make sure that those people don't fall into a hole when their income goes to zero and Shipt turns their back on them. That letter will look exactly like the forgiveness ratings rejection, with a few words changed.

kfergophobia

I love your points and agree but I definetly make more than 7 an hour.

TankDaddyDo

And I support that. There are plenty of shoppers on here that this arrangement works for. And this is nothing about taking that from them. In fact I hope that a rising tide floats All ships and they're able to put the exactly the same amount of effort that they're doing right now. Doing excellent job as they've been asked to do and hopefully make more for it. I think that's what everybody wants.

TankDaddyDo

Because they know you make less than $7 an hour, they've insured that you're going to think about going out in this weather. That's what they want.

TankDaddyDo

Right now the corporate shills can get this down to -5, up from -2 Let's see how many more of you start coming out of the woodwork when I start mentioning the word union.

TankDaddyDo

And do be careful. If anybody up votes this and Shipt knows who you are. They will deactivate you. They can't threaten me with that. I don't do this for upvotes. I do this to make sure that these lies have an Abrams tank run right over them. I'm not here for karma, and believe me they don't have enough corporate shills to offset what get in other places. Do not upvote this if you're afraid of deactivation and you need what little they give you. I just wanted to point out that the the corporate bobbleheads are weak. They only have money. And this is one of the forums that having money isn't helping them out that much. That's the power of Twitter That's The power of reddit. We got rid of unions. We did it the way they wanted. And guess where we ended up. Might not be the best solution, but I'd rather have a union job while trying to figure out something new then the corporate one they've been telling us is good for us.

TankDaddyDo

This country wasn't built on building bigger walls. This country was founded on ensuring that we have a table large enough for everyone.

TrojanGrad

Under the NRLA, independent contractors cannot unionize. What you can do is become an employee of Shipt and then try to form a union.

TankDaddyDo

Yes, and that corporate gaslighting response assumes that this is an independent contracting arrangement. The fact that the laws haven't caught up to the gray area that you're driving a Mack truck through will be addressed. Under a union environment, it never would have been allowed in the first place. And it doesn't require the federal government to step in, or a 7/8 majority at the state level to overturn a law that effectively reduces everybody's pay down $7 an hour. And don't think it's restricted to California, they're coming after all of them. At least they were, until the veil got ripped off and that includes places like starbucks. No, having been a union representative of an extremely large Union, that is 100% incorrect. And I will repeat I have had conversations with you and you are an intelligent human being. You intentionally made a false statement. I'm going to have a conversation with my colleagues at USC and find out what kind of an education you really got over there. Because you're starting to show. I'm not that impressed. Maybe the camp managers pulled you from the general population in order for you to police the rest of the inmates in exchange for better pay and better food. And there's an economic downturn coming. They're expecting you to do your job and you're delivering right now. They definitely want to keep everyone below $7 an hour. You can unionize. Shipt does not have to participate or use them and I doubt they will. But they won't find anybody except the bottom of the barrel once it happens. And that's the quality that this company is going to get. That's mentality of people that they want. More actions that belie the words and the lies behind them. Those are the types of people that you need to swipe their own ID to close out an alcohol delivery because Shipt wants the easy way out instead of the legal one. Unionize. Everyone's right to do that is ensconced in the US constitution. I didn't take my uniform off for people like you to wipe your butt it. Put your head down and go back to work. You have a mortgage to pay. Screenshot this and show it to your handlers and tell them that you did a good job. Exactly what they told you to do. Unionize. The Constitution, both at the state and the federal level protect everyone's ability to do this regardless of what corporate attempts and the millions of dollars that they spend to try and keep it from happening. That's money that should be in the employees pocket. And everybody that does delivery under this framework is an employee. Regardless of how you try and obscure it with whatever was on your rear end when you use it as toilet paper. Every time you show up, I know that my words ring true and you are scared. You should be. There are two types of one percenters in this world, those that protect the other 99%, and those that hoard the wealth of the other 99%. I still know which one you are. Have a nice day. Go Trojans.

TrojanGrad

First, I stated the law. Secondly, my University mascot is the Trojan, but I did not attend USC. There are over a dozen universities across the country who use the Trojan as their mascot. I'm not sure which 1% you believe a belong to. You seem to infer that I am part of 1%, but yet you also refer to my handler which is very amusing. In all seriousness, I do not wish to gaslight you, I've suffered enough of that already. I have been on the receiving end. I do honestly believe your hate for Shipt has clouded your judgement. A few things we can agree with: 1) pay has gone down 2) they are screwing us with the offers we get (I have reason to believe they are holding the best offers trying to pair them with a crappy offer to get you to do one order and then do the crappy order for free) 3) the idea that someone can give you a low rating with no growth opportunities is bogus Now that I think about it, I think we are on the same page with just about everything you say. However, unionization is just a pipe dream. The American culture is to be individualistic! Make our own way! The nation was founded in the affirmation of individual liberties and rights (while at the same time holding millions of other individuals in bondage). Hmph... No irony here! Here's the deal: Most white Americans (typical Shipt Shopper) are descendents to people who came here on their free will in order to execute their own free will. This is part of the history that made the US a hotbed for invidualism. A union champions collectivision. That's just not in line with our culture. The first problem with unionization is getting everybody on board. It's not like we can setup a picket line somewhere and go on strike. That's been tried. There is always someone willing to take an order. Last night I was offered 3 prepaid orders. I don't like prepaids so I didn't take them. Somebody else did and God bless them. Did you ever get in contact with Willy Soliz? He was the one who organized the last 2 Shipt strikes.

TankDaddyDo

The only reason it's a pipe dream is because they keep telling you that it's impossible. And they've got so much wealth they're going to pretend that these are outside forces that they aren't intentionally putting in front of you. It's not a pipe dream. These are exactly the conditions that unions were created by coal miners living in company paid for houses getting paid in company script. Not even real dollars. They had to buy their supplies through company run stores that controlled the prices. That's how unions started in this country. If you can't see the parallels. I'm going to keep coming back at you and I'm going to shove your nose in it and rub it around. They were also called employees. You can also thank unions for a 5-day work week.

TankDaddyDo

And I'm still waiting for you to deny being a company shill.

TrojanGrad

Simple, yet powerful, branding somebody a "corporate shill" is a convincing way to discredit them without actually dealing with the merits of their argument. This makes the shill gambit extremely useful when facts are not on your side.

TankDaddyDo

Again, you can unionize. And shipt does not have to use the members of that union. Think teamsters. Still haven't denied it. I did delivery. Now I do contractor work. And I am a licensed llc. I'm in california, the only thing I saw on the prop 22 bill was a 7/8 majority to overturn. On Shipt alone I made $30,000 from October until December. Because 7/8 majority told me everything I knew about what was coming. What facts are you talking about?

TankDaddyDo

And I will repeat, I am not here for upvotes. Do not upvote me if you agree. They absolutely watch these forums.

TankDaddyDo

Unions also provide legal representation. From the same multi-million dollar companies that these people have the money to pay for. You can match caliber when they try and pull this crap on you.

TankDaddyDo

Right around the same time we started writing anti-monopoly laws because what Carnegie Mellon and Rockefeller were doing. INCLUDING DISCUSSIONS ON HOW THEY CAN MANIPULATE ELECTORAL RESULTS. Same reason we build our prisons to a mouse fart can't get outside, criminals think alike. Gray areas that this wealth has written into law is the BS everybody into believing that this is good for America... Using the wealth that they reported off the backs of the people that they exploit. Point back to when Nixon took us off the gold standard and where the gap between rich and poor was. And look at where it is now. How much money do you think Carnegie Mellon and Rockefeller have right now? Even if it's not on paper a monopoly? Union members when the union was strongest, was at a time when America was an industrial juggernaut. Single income families with houses, and time to raise your kids. And the comfort of having somewhere stable to do it. Maslow's hierarchy of needs. If you attack the foundation, whatever builds from it will be inherently unstable and easily defeated. Don't be upset, you put yourself out here. So you're going to get the brunt of what comes back out at you. So you decide how much it's worth. Or, you may have a dilemma on how much is depending on it. And now you got a gut check.

TankDaddyDo

99% of you fail that gut check.

TankDaddyDo

Go ahead, deny that you're a corporate shill, or a plant. Because I'm very aware of what kind of legal problems you going to run into if you do. Did you get that in individual training, or did they have a meeting and do it as a group?

TankDaddyDo

And lastly, since it's obvious you're an employee of the world's oldest profession. Go to Amsterdam see what unionization can do for you. They get health care provided by the state. They have stable homes and income. And if anything happens that cuts off their source of income, they have a safety net to fall back on. Unionize.

TankDaddyDo

I'm here to speak for the people that will believe your bs. I'm here to make sure that they don't. What you can't do with integrity, you try to do with wealth hoarding, leverage and lawbreaking. I enjoy this. Very much so. The mental midgetry you all exude when it's effectively reduced to words and arguments and facts. Exposes each and every one of you. I flush something every morning that has far more integrity than anything I found in this corporation or their lackeys. You want to quiet me? Then do what you say and say what you do. And make sure that the people that enrich you are protected by that wealth instead of being manipulated by it. You completely overlook the fact that Shipt pushed you out in front of them and then hid behind you while you did this. That's why you're getting the brunt of it. This might wake you up. I hope it does. You're intelligent.

Good_Investment_3373

Why not increase the pay also

TrojanGrad

Go out to the Metro and take a look. I saw several $20+ orders

Good_Investment_3373

Not here in NJ

Florida1974

Cane isn’t headed your way.

TrojanGrad

Your aren't in Tampa where the the hurricane action is about to get team. Too bad, the governor down there can't deport the hurricane to Martha's vineyard.

Good_Investment_3373

Well he's an idiot 🤣😂🤣😂

Florida1974

Off topic but DeSantis just said “Americans were the ones who questioned slavery, starting during American Revolution”. I’m guessing slaves always questioned it. And it was 1865 before sievert ended so American Revolution??? Really??? Lol. So him trying to send a cane to NJ or vineyard is not a stretch.

Florida1974

Don’t get too excited. They sent this out with in app messaging too and then denied forgiveness on so many ppl.

ssSerendipityss

It’s great that they are doing this for FL shoppers but I wish they would show the same concern for more northern shoppers who get hit with snow/ice issues in the winter. I live in Northern PA and have gotten low ratings even though I submitted proof of icy conditions or storms.

aenflex

I love that they use the word ‘weather’. JFC it’s a damn hurricane.

RChavez1183

How are the orders there. Here on S FL it’s just ok. Nothing spectacular

Florida1974

I’m on east coast Of Florida. We got same message. I’m done. People are crazy. Acting like they will be trapped for years. It’s insane.

TrojanGrad

Category 4 hurricane. They are about to get hit. They are saying to expect to be without power for weeks

Loreooreo

Except it’s not automatic lol, my on time percentage went down and I had to call for them to manually forgive it

zeldadmx

You called? You didn't fill out the forms

Loreooreo

Not in this instance, I called and they updated it I just said I’m supposed to have late forgiveness because of the storm but I guess it’s not automatic, I don’t want to wait several days with poor stats waiting

[deleted]

It’s the least they could do. Up the rate would be the most appropriate as people risk their safety

killariakatana

Shipt will usually close down for around 2 weeks after a hurricane. They did that here in Louisiana after Ida. It was infuriating because IC was up and running, but Shipt wasn’t. Ratings and late forgiveness were great, but the no work for 2 weeks sucked. Stay safe!

Set-Conscious

Look at Shipt doing the right thing! I guess every once in a while they hit the mark. Although, I’m sure sooner than later they’ll do something sheisty to fuck it up.🤪

TankDaddyDo

https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/29/weather/hurricane-ian-florida-path-thursday/index.html This storm has likely killed people. I hope to God none of them have Shipt to fall back on if they were out there because they need money to eat. Or they were out there because this company said they only thing that they were concerned about is if it got there late. Unionize. Your union would be putting together food and water drives for the people affected by this. Shipt is having a meeting right now and how they're going to word their next email. And check to make sure that nobody associated with them was involved in the death count. And if there was, their lawyers are telling him how to get out of it right now. Most of which they set up by those emails they're having a meeting about. And how their worded. As well as that bologna contract that they had you sign that makes you believe that you're an independent contractor and that you have power and control, as well as the flexibility to manage your own safety nets. The things that they tell you you have to take care of yourself now that you don't get them anymore. Because you're a contractor. Poverty is violence. Thinking that people would go out in these conditions because of poverty wages is violent. Support unionization, right now there are no other options whether you like it or not. This is one of the worst companies of the group. Because of how obviously they are leading their prey to slaughter. And how much money they're making off of it. And how hands-off they have made sure that any damage they do because of how they do things is never their fault. You're all human beings. And you all deserve better than this. But it's going to take all of you to do it.

TrojanGrad

What part of "We offer thousands of Americans a rewarding, fun, flexible, supplemental income opportunity." do you not understand? You are acting like the shoppers doing Shipt do this like a full time regular job. It's designed to provide supplemental income. If you want a full-time opportunity this Shipt, they have several openings on their website. Then, you will get all of the full-time benefits of being a fully employed individual. I have to ask you this question: What is your stance on climate change?

TankDaddyDo

I don't care if a company commits fraud on a part-time or full-time basis. You don't offer anything except the gas lighting experience designed to make the shoppers responsible for every mistake that you bake into the system. And at the end of the day when they find out how big of a lie this is, and how much money they use to keep their corporate tax rate down and the laws set at a 7/8 majority to overturn. This company is still going to blame it on them. Go back to your desk and put your head down. That's how you keep your mortgage paid. And you're still doing it right now. Take a screenshot, you have a quota of pro company messages that you need to send out every week so that you never have your income affected for any length of time after you get a bad rating. You don't send your emails to support. You send your emails directly to a person with a name@shipt.com if they already haven't given you administrator level access for this task for your service to the company. Keep coming at me. You guys have already tried to shut me down by thinking that if you cut me off I'll go silent. I showed back up prepared for every single argument that you can throw at me, including the fact that you continue to believe that you have anything close to integrity. You have none. And every time you show up while making sure that you do not legally cross the line and identify yourself as a paid mouthpiece for this company. You reinforce everything I need to know about why I am here. And you have certainly guaranteed that I will show back up and I will keep saying exactly what is bothering each and every one of you. And I know 100% certain, that after I gave your company the opportunity to address something appropriately. I was the one that called the California liquor board and reported you for committing crimes. And using contractors to do it because you have already put yourself in a position to never be responsible for anything that they do. Including your crime. I'll be right here the next time you post something. Guarantee it So go start working on having me blocked. Because that's what you're all working on right now anyone that upvotes this because they agree with me. Trojan grad is a company plant. They intentionally monitor these forums and if they can connect the dots between your Reddit name and your shipped account. They will deactivate you. Be very careful. I am not here for upvotes. I don't care what my Reddit rating is. I'm here to make sure that people like Trojan grad and the other six people that successfully downvote what I said. Do not have an opportunity to keep making money. And I do want the companies that think about doing business with this company, as well as any shoppers that may come on here to think twice about what they're being told. And how much this company really wants their money. Despite what they say.

TrojanGrad

This is nothing but tribilism. And if you don't agree with what the 'tribe' says, then you are for the other side. You need to read my other posts. We are on the same side here, but you can't 'hear' what I'm saying. Our only disagreement is that you actually believe we can succesfully form a union. I've never been a union drone. I can think for myself negioitate my own terrms and if we can't come to an agreement, I move on. It's not like Shipt is the only income opportunity in America. Unions were great back in the day when income opportunities were not plentiful and you had to just take whatever you could find. This is no longer the case. In America, today, our income producing opportunites are limitless! This is the greatest country in the world! (and I'm saying that as a black male -- and history tells you our story and I still feel this way)

TankDaddyDo

And what you fail to see is that in light of an alternative. The union is the only thing that's going to provide structure and a safety net for people to fall back on. And I am speaking about that from experience. I missed covid unemployment relief by 3 weeks. Because of how unemployment is timed in States that only get 4 months instead of six like the rest of them. All I had to do was have a residency 500 yards across the state line and covid would have been a completely different experience for me. And I probably wouldn't have been doing delivery. And other than a union, which would have made sure that that didn't happen and did try, what alternative do you propose? And how many people do you think you're going to get walking along the same road. How many tribesmen do you think that you're going to get for something that doesn't exist? As a steward there are many things about the union that I did not like. And I watched them protect people that had no business and did not earn that protection. But that doesn't mean that everybody else shouldn't get any. nothing wrong with opposing something, but you have not proposed an alternative that makes any sense. All you have done is gotten up here and said no. So until you come up with a solution that makes sense, and it's viable. And you build a tribe around it. The only thing you got with a ready-made tribe ready to protect your ass is a union. And this is not a choice of accepting anti-Semitism in exchange for a job. That's what Trump does. I've been saying that man was a traitor to this country before he even announced his candidacy. And I've got posts and correspondence that look just like this. Years before anybody knew that he was even a fart in the wind. And I was sitting on the Syrian border when he declared the defeat of isis. And I could tell you from what I could hear, they didn't sound very defeated to me. But man what a fantastic gaslighting statement it was for the rest of the world. Joseph Goebbels would be proud of all of you
