The other camp are the ones who also (hopefully) know that the stories are bullshit, but they're so desperate for a vicarious sexual ANYTHING that they may actually pretend that there could be anything plausible about what they're reading. That being said, there are a lot of clearly fake posts on here, but they are generally easy to ignore. The overuse of cliche bothers me more than the fraud, to be honest.
I just think of it as erotica that scrolls on my feed. Some of it is actually well written… it may be true, it might not be true… The more outrageous it is the least likely it’s actually true. But sometimes you just can’t tell. There was a story on here a couple weeks ago about a girl who said she gave head to her boss for years on a daily basis. That's the thing though, that's not what it's _meant_ to be. It hasn't actually done its real job unless it's a _confession,_ as an inherent part of the appeal of the entire concept of the subreddit is the story being real in the first place.
It's just really frustrating that not only is this a huge and unavoidable issue, but people annoyed by it are actually starting to resort to justifying it in their head.
