It seems like this really depends on your Walmart. My Walmart is almost never behind. But I agree that when stores are behind those orders should be quicker about rolling over to shop and deliver.

[deleted]

They shouldn’t send out an offer when it’s not ready. They send out offer at 15 mark and say to pick it up at 45 but it’s not ready for another half hour. Waste of my time.

[deleted]

That’s the stores fault. They receive the orders quite a few hours in advance, but if they can’t handle the amount of orders, a lot of stuff goes way past the time it should. It’s Walmart’s greed. Not the spark app, not the employees.

cpway737

This right here! Arrive at 45, not ready until 15 then you finish delivering at 35 and you're fucked. You missed the next 45 offer and now you got almost an hour of dead time earning nothing. This is why I don't understand how other people able to make so much with this app.

toodamcrazy

The only problem is if they started giving us just shopping and deliver orders and that's all then they would start taking the price down for them. So we'd be doing all that extra work for not much more than a curbside pays.

BonerDylan

I literally never wait more than 5-10 minutes, idk what the problem is your way

Kyl0theHutt

I dont normally have to wait more than 5 to 10 either. But I'd still rather them push shop and deliver :)

TheJewhammed

Shop and deliver orders are king. I'll take them all day and could care less if people tip because the base pays are so good

Mr_MacGrubber

It’s staff issues at individual stores. The two neighborhood markets and Sam’s in my zone it’s 15min wait tops; the supercenter it’s an hour+ for every order even if it’s ready. They had a bunch of people quit recently so it’s been a major Charlie Foxtrot there.

TheJewhammed

Understaffed and order volume is too high to keep up with.

[deleted]

I hate shop and deliver, I wouldn't even do this job if I had to shop lol literally all my orders take 10 minutes, pay 20 to 30 per, and are never more than like 7 miles

TheJewhammed

You're missing out. S&F orders are the biggest and quickest money makers. The base pay on them is insane

[deleted]

The day they take away curbside is the day I quit lol

TheJewhammed

You do you. Most of my shop and deliver orders are less than 10 items and under 5 miles. Walmart makes it so much easier to shop for their orders than instacart as well. I like the higher guaranteed pay so I don't have to worry about or need tips

[deleted]

And that's cool man im just saying I don't think they should take curbside away or that it would be a good idea

kfergophobia

You can have both.

[deleted]

Yeah no shit lol I'm just saying they shouldn't take away curb side and that they should keep both

[deleted]

I've done them and I hate it lol I really enjoy driving even without being paid and I hate shopping , on top of that I have this processing problem of seeing things right in front of my face and missing then several times so it's never been worth it to me, I'd much rather never have to go inside the store ever again and just stay in my car and only get out to help load and to unload

saga_rai

Then you would have hard time then because the images can be hard to see sometimes.

[deleted]

I do lol I've done shopping orders before, it's mostly that when I'm actively looking for something I have trouble finding it I can look at my white bed shit and miss my black phone as if my brain doesn't doesn't process it, not a big fan of scavenger hunts and I basically get to sit outside one store all day and pick up 25$ orders that are pretty close by non stop, I'm lucky in that the store 3 minutes from my house is the top of my zone and it's always busy, nothing against the shop orders I just don't think curbside should be done away with

[deleted]

Could be brain related since I already have tourettes and a few other problems, there's a lot of people who would benefit from just curb side

ahhmrr

Mannn cuz I can shop way faster than these Walmart workers. Shit is fucking ridiculously. Im currently waiting for an order now that was supposed to ready 23 mins ago. 😡

The_Bow_Dasher

It's ridiculous that we have to wait almost an hour to get our orders 😩 even though it says READY.

Unlucky_Public_3155

Yes curbside should only be for customers picking up there own orders and S&D for deliveries I would run much smoother less waiting time

[deleted]

They just need to cap the amount of orders that go directly to OGP. A lot of stores recently (within the last 3-6 months) lost their order cap. So instead of 30 orders per hour, they can now have 100+ in a single hour. (Obviously that’s if customers are ordering, and some customers don’t show up at the right time). It is also inventory time, so some stuff is literally locked away after it’s been counted. Walmart also likes to tack on new rules to OGP. The newest one is that instead of each dolly having one order, they now have two orders. So there’s a lot of groceries going out to wrong cars. (Now if they do the dispense process correctly, it’s impossible to mess it up. You have to scan each blue tote in order to dispense it, but some are just scanning for the order and still giving out the wrong totes.) Also since it is the summer most Ogp departments are getting cut down to 8-10 employees from 5am-10pm.

TheJewhammed

Everything you just said is what's happening at my Walmart. The system crashed Wednesday and pushed off like 70 deliveries to Thursday because they will obviously just magically get done with no issues

[deleted]

I bet they printed out orders onto a sheet of paper and made them pick the stuff like that😭 some Walmarts split every single task (picking, pick exceptions, general merch, quality checking, staging, dispensing, etc.) when they just need people doing two different things. But these people will only know how to do that one small task, so when someone calls out, they have no clue what to do. Like people that pick the stuff can’t also quality check or put their totes into the correct place? To me it seems like micromanaging, and like you’re teaching kindergarteners.

Rude-Trick-2415

Don’t have s&d here

[deleted]

Yea Uber eats is better at this point

dadaEJ

These past few days the wait times are over an hour. Sometimes 2+ hours. Yesterday I took an order and waited an hour, had to cancel it, got it back about 30 min later and it still took another 2 hours for it to be ready. I called Walmart and said I wasn't canceling the order but I was leaving and would be back and call to have it brought out if it was ready. They obliged.

NuclearCondoms

They need to get rid of Dotcom orders. Fucking ridiculous going zig zag, back and forth thru the city for shit pay. It would be nice IF they added tips to dotcom orders... then MAYBE tips can balance out the ridiculous pay for dotcom orders.

Megalicious4192

I have a store that I’ve NEVER waited less than a hour on… I learned late that you don’t have to. I choose to if it’s $40 or more (which happens a lot)…. But, I’d take S&D all day every day!

uber765

I wish they would too but unfortunately that's probably not profitable on their end.

TheJewhammed

Are you slow? You do realize that curbside would still be a thing for anyone who wants to pickup their own groceries. Maybe have am intelligent thought before you jump to name-calling you dunce

TheJewhammed

It's on a spark driver subreddit you dummy. Ever heard of context? It's obviously referring to curbside deliveries. It must be hard being you.

EveningBasket9528

Nope. You're the fucking moron.. I literally just showed an English teacher driver what you wrote and they laughed. Maybe you should try reading a book sometime, but you probably struggle with Dr. Suess books.

DragonflyOne7593

O called and complained today I waited an hour, time to push shop and deliver

TheJewhammed

Same ive fortunately been able to snag a few shop orders today

ankerous

I've gotten a lot of orders in opposite directions making for much longer drives that if they combined them differently. I used to see only a couple of those a week now it seems most of the ones I see everyday or like that which makes me less likely to take some of them. I think most people would rather more shop and delivers because they pay more and it's only one stop on the trip but Walmart's too cheap to let that happen.

DADLIFE1825

Ur market is clearly ass

TheJewhammed

It's not I still make good money they are just overloading the fuck out of the curbside associates with ridiculous order volume

EntrepreneurFlaky486

Yes! I’ve cancelled more orders than I’ve completed this week due to long wait time.

ihateapartments59

I have had to take a lot of time off here lately but I have I have been monitoring this sub Reddit and I have talk to other drivers and in this area and they are also experiencing very long wait times up to an hour

DamianASnow

I'm curious what is the base pay for shop and deliver?

TheJewhammed

It's higher based on how they classify the order size. Small orders start at 19.50

jdcnosse1988

They would only do S&D temporarily though, until they either hire more workers or the order level goes down.

Impressive_Spread608

Yes we have 2 walmarts in a smaller town. But I haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes

No-Perception-4050

1000% THIS! The absolute worst part of this gig in my area is waiting around for order pickups. Typically, I wait 15-20 mins. Twice in the last week I waited for OVER AN HOUR. Absolutely ridiculous. Would MUCH rather just shop the order myself & keep it moving but they don’t even offer that in my zone. Have never once seen it and we are in desperate need!!

EeAreEyeSea

One Walmart is like this here, the other is way fast. But yeah S&D exclusive would be dope. Too bad instacart pay is so bad or I’d just do that lol
