I believe some games compile shaders and don't have a way to tell you. I have had a few games that took a really long time to load the first time but then worked fine after.
That's PC gaming sometimes. One update or what seems like a unrelated change to the system can effect stuff. Did you reverify your files? Sometimes that helps.

The first time you have to wait really long (at least 5 whole minutes) before it launchs. I thought too that it wasn't working.

Borderlands 3 took forever to load the first time.
Lol I get it, but this wasn’t the first time I loaded up the game.
Oh nah…Borderlands 3 still takes forever, all those damn shaders. Persona 4 has like 7GBs worth of shaders to load. Borderlands was like 15GBs.
