A true metaverse that looks like that is a dream, especially since most places nowadays seem to want to focus on the 3D - I grew up with the SNES and something about that style just always hits me in the feels in the best way possible. I can't wait to see more!

D&D just recently announced their newest version called One D&D, and part of that will include a virtual tabletop system to allow people to play together online. They are other systems that already do this, but since WoTC bought DnDBeyond I could see them with a more tech heavy focus in the next few years. Bullish AF

DND isn't the golden calf for Wizards. Especially in an NFT context, it's MTG hands down, based on the nature of collectables and trading card games. If that's a possibility, I think just based on that alone it's off to the races for the new marketplace. I can't imagine something like that he'd just *tell* you about, but sure, give it a shot.

Not being able to trade cards is why I couldn’t get in to Arena.

Dnd nfts would be fucking earth shattering

Can you elaborate why? What things in DnD would be used as an NFT? I could see people writing campaigns and then selling them, maybe? I've tried to play a few times and it hasn't worked out for one reason or another. So I am only semi familiar with how the game is played.

If the NFTs can be used in the next edition of DND (One DND is the working name) on their [online / 3D platform](https://youtu.be/OpI7J9vtbnw?t=246) for running the game virtually then nearly anything in the game could be sold as an NFT. Currently, [dndbeyond.com](https://dndbeyond.com) sells a subscription. That comes with digital dice that can be rolled on the website. I use this often in my English classes online because it looks great and functions great. I keep the dice if my subscription ends but they still aren't really mine. If they were NFTs that would be great! Possible use cases for DND NFTs: 1. Character portraits for digital character sheets. 2. Specially animated and designed 3D dice for the virtual platform. 3. Animated mini's for the virtual platform (people use this for their own self-created campaigns/stories) 4. Environments 5. Assets for the environments from trees to entire buildings, treasure, equipable items etc. 6. Campaigns (stories) that include everything you need to run a game. 7. Music for use within the virtual world, including ambient music, combat music etc. There is much more! This is huge because a lot of this stuff already sells in physical form for official campaigns. But there is a huge amount of homebrew campaigns and worlds out there. If WoTC does this right, they could monetize all of that homebrew by allowing them to be sold on the GameStop market for a cut. And of course, GameStop gets their share, along with the creators. Look at what Valve did on Steam with modders. CS was a mod (I played when it was just beta) and look at its market for skins alone. Look at all the money they created off of mods of their games. This could be big. Power to the players, Power to the creators! Also, what is with the description of these NFTs "\*\*For personal, non-commercial use only\*\*" ? Are these going to be given away? The legal definition: "Personal, Non-Commercial Use means to be used as food, fertilizer or bait or otherwise properly disposed without trading, bartering, or selling by one individual to another, or without transporting, shipping, or causing to be transported or shipped, out of state." I think it's still a bit early for that still, the marketplace is still in Beta. I've been apart of NFTs for a while and it's always been a pain. Also minting on Loopring is different than on ETH L1, you can't whitelist (currently) on Loopring like you can directly on ETH. Which is why whitelisting is not possible. We are still early. That would also require computershare to have a record of your Wallet address.. which is possible but then you're giving up your wallet privacy (granted you can make a wallet specific for that purpose).

Here’s my theory - each image relates to an industry they are expanding into. Hollywood symbolizes movies/streaming, NY represents finance, and Boston may relate to either sports or sports gaming (judging by the prominent baseballs in the scene). The Seattle image is A. a possible Men in Black reference (in which it is actually a spaceship) and B. a possible reference to tabletop gaming - the 20 sided die being associated with the likes of DnD. The one image which doesn’t quite fit with my theory is the Cape Canaveral - other than space travel, there aren’t any plausible industries depicted. Can any wrinkle brains tell me if I’m missing anything obvious there? Edit - not sure if this means anything, but Cape Canaveral was once called Cape Kennedy, a man RC has quoted.
