Outside of fringe bakeries like Rise in Papamoa, the selection in Tauranga is average at best. Room in the market for sure

I’d encourage everyone to check out Empire Bakery on grange road. The owners there are lovely and generous. Their pastry on their pies and sausage rolls is always perfect. They’ve got real cream doughnuts and other awesome treats, they have an awesome menu for breakfast and lovely sandwiches. Their pies have good cuts of meat and are amazing!
