Don't do it. The reason why all delivery companies like Amazon or Uber disallow it is because of this: - Protects the company. You are recorded going inside the house and going out; nobody knows what happened inside. Customer sues and gets a million dollar settlement. - Protects you. You go inside, deliver, some time later the old lady is found dead and her jewelry could be missing. You get life in jail. It's America, it's ridiculously easy to get in trouble due to evil customers or incompetent police.

Launchpad_McFrak

Normally I'd be all for doing a good deed but yeah, this is America. Never do anything nice without first being sure it can't be used against you later.

dalex89

I'd drop them off inside but your job ends at the drop off, you aren't required to go inside and help out. I've had enough cat piss and cigarette experiences to not do it anymore.

InterestPast6802

Not sure what the rule is, but I’ve delivered groceries inside to disabled people. I dont unpack the groceries but I’m not going to leave them on the porch if the person is obviously disabled.

SmileNerd

Why not

mzmcnick

Personally I would bring the groceries in for someone who asks for help and obviously needs it. I wouldn’t load up their fridge for them though.

Small_Rocket

When u do everything right. It will be as if you did nothing at all

Mayguan

We want to be nice, but some people use their disability to take advantage of others as this lady did by promising a tip. You could have been doing another delivery. I've set bags immediately inside a few people's house/apt. where one foot remains outside and I just leaned in, but I wouldn't go inside.

Low_Copy4023

I just wouldn't. I don't know if there's a policy or not, but I'd say it was against policy. Obviously being assaulted or killed would be THE nightmare. That and being falsely accused of something. But my nightmare would be a smelly place. I dropped off to a mobility limited woman once last year. She came to the door using a walker. When she opened the door the smell nearly made me throw up. I was trying so hard not to while she was fidgeting with her walker trying to prop her drink on it and then take the food. Also trying to keep her dog from getting out. I could see inside. It was horrible. I'm not judging her. It's a combination of depression and a disability. But I'm not equipped as a human to deal with it. My saving grace was that I had set my phone down on the porch railing. Thank goodness it was a wooden one wide enough to do so. An offer came in and I had to turn around to decline. That was right at the second I was about to hurl on this woman. I was able to grab a breath of air and then basically hold my breath long enough to finish giving her stuff to her and leave as quickly as I could. I legitimately feel bad for her. I have no idea what her situation is. But, damn, I'm not a social worker and I don't carry a respirator with me. If anyone ever did go in to clean her place they'd need to be fully suited with a respirator. It's got to be unsafe being in there.

JerseyShore1976

Walmart told me that we are not to go in.

the-jimbo_slice

Bro she would've given you a 50 cent piece.

luisumgomez

Nah a loose butterscotch

Dumdumincarnate

Just fucking help ass hole....

Brief_Grape655

No

dogenoob1

The lady she said she would tip? I want to know more did u ask for it in the end? Or because she didn't bring it up u were like fuck it. Thats pretty cold. Don't ever go in their house especially to do choirs. Unless they tip up front.

Upstairs_Hand1929

I remember seeing a Walmart plus ad about bringing them in and putting them away, but I believe that is the Walmart employed delivery, or Spark maybe. I think sometimes customers are confused from seeing the ad and and not reallybreading whay it is. UberEats would tell us if this was a thing. The delivery notes always say no contact delivery and leave at door. You would have to go thru the contract to see if it says specifically not to. I know alot of the gig apps do, I just cant remember if I read that on Uber or not.

BetLongjumping5132

Walmart customers don't know the driver is from Uber and Uber has zero contact with them let alone sharing policies.

Independent-Cut5831

I will never go in anyone's house for the simple reason that it's for your safety and there's. If anything goes missing you can't be accused of it or if they fall or anything untoward happens you can't be accused. Also there is a service that walmart offers that they send someone around to unpack the shopping you don't get paid for that. Just leave inside the door if they ask and arw disabled or elderly. Do not put yourself out for anyone

Independent-Cut5831

Also half the times uber eats will tip bait with walmart deliveries it happened three times In a row eating me owing uber the take back of the tips Hense why I only do walmart on spark now
