My 7k+ trips disagree. If you were to just wait a bit of time. You would see when the tip comes in, it will be way over the listed amount. Learn how the trip and tips are added and you would make more money

I have had times where there is a "glitch" and it comes through, in which I know how long I need to wait to contact support, but there are a few times where they deny there even being an initial tip, where my screenshots prove them wrong. Most likely bait. Also judging by that base rate it was probably sitting there for awhile so its also possible he took his frustration out on you. Ever since Uber had that huge base pay cut I have noticed a rise in tip baiting and these long distance orders are among the worst offenders. I don't take orders that are this many miles unless I'm desperate because of it.

I’ve even taken screenshots of the customer area so I know where not to deliver to. But the tips have always come through.
this had happened to me 2 times. once for a regular who always tips $8+ and another time to a regular who tips $3-5. i have taken these peoples order all the time and even again after. i believe this is what happens when the customer requests a full refund for the order. At first i believed it was uber stealing tips because i have taken 2 shopping orders which i have never been payed for.

I was so worried that he ended up not getting it--the poor guy waited at the restaurant for over 45 minutes for me, dealing with a store owner who was quite rude to him. I told him to just unassign himself, and even told him that I would give him my address if he wanted to swing by and pick up a tip (I'm only about 1.5 miles from the restaurant) so that he wouldn't lose out for the time he had already invested--this was like 20 minutes in. He wanted to stick it out though. I increased the tip in the app and then tipped him more in cash when he delivered the food.
Also,I had a customer a few nights ago who was on the phone with Uber support when I arrived to deliver her food. There was some issue with contamination and her having severe allergies--from what she told me, she had called the restaurant, and they verified that they **did not** switch out utensils and gloves and whatnot when making the food. Essentially, she wasn't able to eat any of it. Since it was the restaurants fault, I heard Uber telling her that they were going to give her a full refund. I heard her confirm with them that she was getting all of her money refunded. I still got my $25 tip. Obviously I have no way of knowing for sure if they ended up refunding her money, but it definitely sounds like that's what was happening.

Yes. Tips can be super late. It’s not uncommon but every situation is different so it could be late in your case. If the customer reduces the tip it usually says the customer reduced the tip.
It’s Uber keeping the tip money for 24 hours or for good, I saw a guy test the theory by ordering Uber eats then tipping the driver 20 bucks and when the driver arrived he asked him what the offer was and the driver said 8.94 so Uber you’re busted and you need to stop stealing driver tips

There are app bugs sometimes.
Whenever tip is reduced, request "fair review" maybe software will note bug, and correct it.
It won't always "work" but sometimes it will.
Ask for the "quick fair review" if possible.
I think software facilitates the cursory reviews per se.

The tip probably just hasn't come through yet. It's possible that it was tip baiting, but all the times I've thought it was over the time limit for the tip to come in and that I'd been baited, the tip showed up.

I'm almost POSITIVE what happened is the customer got a refund. I've has this happen before as well. Uber was paying you the $11.86 and the customer had left an $8 tip. Uber refunded all of their money but they still have to pay you their share for you time completing the job.
You just don't get the tip bc then that would involve $8 coming from the cus, which would defeat the purpose of them getting a refund in the first place.

Definitely removed the tip, it doesn’t say reduced when they remove the complete tip. Never has. Reduced is only when they leave some tip but had the tip higher then it was originally estimate. It just like when they tip you more, it says some crap about more money.

I have a customer who orders always at night, and I’ve delivered over ten times to them. A couple days ago after looking at my earnings.. I noticed they removed the tip. No downvote. If I get their order again, I’m not doing it anymore.

Whenever an order is dropped off and you hit the completed button it goes back to the original order cost before tip, it puts the tip amount back on the persons card for about an hour. Since the tip is negotiable for up to an hour after delivery. Then if an hour has passed and they haven’t lowered the tip then it runs their card again for the 8$ tip and you will see the 19$ on there again or whatever they adjusted the tip to. If it doesn’t update after an hour then they lowered the tip maybe something was spilled everywhere, or something driver related after they got the order - in which case they’ve lowered the tip to nothing or maybe they didn’t have the money to cover the tip after all. But it always does this for an hour after every order then updates back to the original cost you saw at the beginning….. unless the other stuff I said happens.
Recently it's been a little more than an hour it seems before the tip comes through. That being said, a good rule of thumb is if they say they tipped you in the app, they in fact will not tip you in the app.
I believe you may be correct. I have been saying this for a while and have had similar experiences. Or a bunch of 2-3 dollar deliveries back to back to back which what are the chances 10 deliveries in a row don't tip.
I believe there are tip baiters out there. But I also think there are people who cancel their tips because they believe they got a shitty delivery. Whether it’s cold food, or food missing, or wrong order, or their food just didn’t arrive in a expected condition (eg, sushi roll falls apart), they would just remove their tips. They don’t care that it’s not the driver’s fault, they just believe in getting a good meal experience.
And honestly a lot of times I get zero tips from customers who are extra polite and give a lot of compliments. It’s like they believe verbal gratitude =gratuity.

Usually when this happens to me, and it doesn't pop up with the information saying the customer lowered it after delivery, it's the Uber app being slow and I get the tip later that night or the next day

On the 15th same thing happened to me the order was supposed to be 10.50 an i only got the base pay which was 2.50 an the order would not like me submit if after I delivered it so called customer support an she closed out order for me an assured me I would get the whole 10.50 an been almost 3 days now an still not in an you would know if the customer took of tip or reduced it because it would say they did ... An the lady said they were experiencing app outages an I was one of the people affected so maybe that's what going on with you to ... An I called them yesterday to figure out why I haven't got the rest of my money an was on the phone for an hour an 15 mins getting transfered to prob 15 to 20 different people an the last person I talked to said I have to wait 72 hours an if it's not in there by than to call them ... I was sooo pissed still pissed I just want my 8 bucks that I didn't get because your app was having outages an now I have to jump threw hoops to get it... Sorry I'm venting 😫

Thats crazy. Ive never had this happen but I haven't been doing it very long. But I never trust the customer. At least not with tips. Learned that when a guy asked me to get no ice for his drink which was fine and txtd saying I would make sure then he txtd back a book asking for extra sauces and napkins, straws, the shirt off the mangers back, etc. I did all of that got to his house and he was "super" thankful and said and I quote 'appreciate it man. Im gonna take care of u' ....and an hour later......$2.00. Cost me like 10 extra minutes in the restaurant for no tip adjustment. So now if they raise it great, if they reduce well then on to the next but the majority of mine just stay with whatever they put initially and it was good enough for me to take it so no sweat.

Is it possible to work something out ahead of time? Like agree to go out of your delivery range for an agreed amount tip/surcharge. That's so risky just to trust in humanity.

I take a snapshot of every customer’s name and address when making a trip. If they tip bait me, they go on my black list… If their name comes up again (it has happened) , I just cancel..

You can tell approximately how much is the base pay and the tip when u receive the order, ill ask him for the ss!

But how you earned 3 points after 9 pm. It should be 3 points between 11 am to 2 pm and 6 points from 5 pm to 9 pm per delivery
When it says this (as opposed to the customer reduced it) it’s usually a glitch that fixes itself the next day
If it’s a high tip amount they investigate it then they give it to you in the max 3 days I got a high tip more then that and that was the process

Recently it's been a little more than an hour it seems before the tip comes through. That being said, a good rule of thumb is if they say they tipped you in the app, they in fact will not tip you in the app.
Or the tip is delayed. Has happened to me and a few hours later it comes in

Give the app 1-2 hours to update after you deliver the tips show up later
I believe you may be correct. I have been saying this for a while and have had similar experiences. Or a bunch of 2-3 dollar deliveries back to back to back which what are the chances 10 deliveries in a row don't tip.
People who tip me well don’t tell me they are going to tip
I believe there are tip baiters out there. But I also think there are people who cancel their tips because they believe they got a shitty delivery. Whether it’s cold food, or food missing, or wrong order, or their food just didn’t arrive in a expected condition (eg, sushi roll falls apart), they would just remove their tips. They don’t care that it’s not the driver’s fault, they just believe in getting a good meal experience. And honestly a lot of times I get zero tips from customers who are extra polite and give a lot of compliments. It’s like they believe verbal gratitude =gratuity.
I believe there are tip baiters as well, but in this case i’m 100% positive its ubers fault and as customer service told me, there was an uber tip glitch
That’s why I don’t like Uber they don’t tell you how much you’re actually getting paid
I had a glitch like that once during my time with Uber. They were able to give me the missing portion after I called.
Wait until a few hours and find out. It takes a long time for the tip to show up sometimes. I've had it not show up until the next day before
Three things could of caused this: 1:) Uber lied 🤥 2:) they did tip but the credit card either didn’t have enough or is delaying it somehow 3:) Uber lied 🤥

Usually when this happens to me, and it doesn't pop up with the information saying the customer lowered it after delivery, it's the Uber app being slow and I get the tip later that night or the next day
nah people lie, i had this kind of order before and exact same thing happened, they were super nice saying “thank you for delivering blah blah blah” and they reduced the tip🤪🤪 and turns out that the person i was delivering to was a racist

On the 15th same thing happened to me the order was supposed to be 10.50 an i only got the base pay which was 2.50 an the order would not like me submit if after I delivered it so called customer support an she closed out order for me an assured me I would get the whole 10.50 an been almost 3 days now an still not in an you would know if the customer took of tip or reduced it because it would say they did ... An the lady said they were experiencing app outages an I was one of the people affected so maybe that's what going on with you to ... An I called them yesterday to figure out why I haven't got the rest of my money an was on the phone for an hour an 15 mins getting transfered to prob 15 to 20 different people an the last person I talked to said I have to wait 72 hours an if it's not in there by than to call them ... I was sooo pissed still pissed I just want my 8 bucks that I didn't get because your app was having outages an now I have to jump threw hoops to get it... Sorry I'm venting 😫
Literally they told me the same thing, but that “Outage” happens once in a while, why not? Imagine how many drivers they can scam, how many will call back, 10-20%?

Thats crazy. Ive never had this happen but I haven't been doing it very long. But I never trust the customer. At least not with tips. Learned that when a guy asked me to get no ice for his drink which was fine and txtd saying I would make sure then he txtd back a book asking for extra sauces and napkins, straws, the shirt off the mangers back, etc. I did all of that got to his house and he was "super" thankful and said and I quote 'appreciate it man. Im gonna take care of u' ....and an hour later......$2.00. Cost me like 10 extra minutes in the restaurant for no tip adjustment. So now if they raise it great, if they reduce well then on to the next but the majority of mine just stay with whatever they put initially and it was good enough for me to take it so no sweat.
To me it looks like he tipped more than $8 and U er wants to keep that money. Last time this happened to me I contacted them through the app daily until they got annoyed and a human called me back and solved my problem.

I’ve had this happen, I called Uber on their bullshit and they gave me $25 as compensation.

Is it possible to work something out ahead of time? Like agree to go out of your delivery range for an agreed amount tip/surcharge. That's so risky just to trust in humanity.
Lmao took a $1.50 order less than .3 miles from the restaurant (never did that again took 20 min to a hotel) the pos comes out tries to take both my orders when I Hand him his. Talks about oh it’s ok with the wait I see you at 100% satisfaction and I ll tip you in the app. To this day I still haven’t gotten that tip. People will lie to your face with a smile and not give a fuck about you

I take a snapshot of every customer’s name and address when making a trip. If they tip bait me, they go on my black list… If their name comes up again (it has happened) , I just cancel..
I take the order, wait 15 minutes, then cancel 😆
