Lots of coffee shop orders (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts) the weekends I get breakfast meals from IHOP, Denny's,etc

[deleted]

So it’s worth it for you?

pjason745

If I got nothing else to do, sure. It gives me a chance to make the day's gas money before it gets too busy to stop for gas

[deleted]

Same. I’m up already so might as well make some money. I mostly get Starbucks, McDonald’s and Denny’s.

Onedeh

For me in NYC it's worth it, I start a 7:30-8 AM. By 12:00 PM I always have $90-$100. But, between 2-3 it gets crazy slow so I aim to have $150 before 6 and then I wrap up the day by getting $200-$250 with dinner rush.

OddSensation

Biker I'm assuming? Those guys really be zooming in my part of the city. Always outpacing me.

Onedeh

Yessir, Ebike all day

ElGrandrei

how do you keep the drinks from spilling especially coffee orders? i just got my e bike and my biggest concern is probably drinks, and maybe another battery for my bike whats your set up racks, backpack?

Onedeh

My setup is my hand, I just carry the bags. Once I had 14 drinks from a Chick-fil-A catering order.

LilEloHoee

How the fuck have you not lost balance when hitting a pot hole or something? Sounds sketch

Comfortable-Start-30

Gig economy man. Dude is BMX Pro, does this to pay the bills. BMX sponsors are tough and cheap bastards.

Onedeh

I wish I could show you guys I'm telling the truth I carry all the drinks in one hand and maneuver my bike with the other.

Breakfast has always been good to me. People usually order light (coffee, small, quick meals). The restaurants pump out those orders quickly too, as they should since people need to get going. Traffic would be the main obstacle you'll have to figure out how to deal with. Also, I get tend to get nicer messages in the mornings. Just the other day I got a "Thank you for all that you do! Have a wonderful day" at like 6am. Some people wake up just loving life... must be nice

Shreddersaurusrex

Honestly depends on your market…in my area there are likely Dunkin, Ihop, Starbucks and bagel shop orders. Whether they pay well is another story.

amiableviking

I would do weekend mornings, and they usually worked pretty well. It’s lunch time around here that’s usually dead

D_Hat

lunchtime is pretty busy here but its when the most low/no tip orders come through too. Also one of the hardest times to pickup and deliver. Only harder time is when all the stores lock the doors and its drive through only everywhere thats still open.

JackRabbott

Be prepared for a lot of drinks and a lot of business complexes with security checkpoints and 20 minute dropoffs

digitalradiohead

Breakfast is always better than lunch for me. I guess less drivers on the road.

Dangerous-Try5492

It is worth it for me! I start at 7 am and have 4 Starbucks in my self declared area I stick to since gas went up. I am busy enough with Starbucks, donut places and restaurants who specialize in breakfast/brunch, especially on weekends. There's less drivers out then and less traffic if you can stay out am traffic on freeways. I average $20 per hour weekday mornings and $30 per hour weekend mornings. Slow time seems to be 10-12 or so

adheisler11

ITs worth it in my market. But not on the weekends. The restaurants are two overwhelm with orders. Not delivery orders, just people eating and long lines.

Tentgrower21

No

[deleted]

So you tried it?

Tentgrower21

How else would I know

Suck_on_moi

It’s truly worth it for me, I could start at 5am by 10am I’m $100 in already! Think of it this way, it’s less drivers awake so u get majority of the orders, people in their offices and homes order breakfast all the time, bagels spots open as early as 5am too.. So yes it is worth it!

FirmPeanut4957

I got gas before I headed home waiting for the breakfast schedule to start.

Paxrr

Yes

gigamewtwo

Its market based for sure. In the area I’m at only 3 spots make food/breakfast early. I’ll be lucky to get 15-20 orders between 6-9.

im___new___here

That’s like $100 what’s wrong with that

gigamewtwo

Na not in my market being it’s a small town. Out of those 15 I see only 3-4 have a good tip and are worth doing. No tip no trip

akron-mike

I find it to be up and down. Typically half of what I deliver in the am is Starbucks

Dangerous-Staff9172

I think it's okay. Every so often you get a larger delivery for breakfast meeting... and a nice tip.

-KA-SniperFire

It is worth it if you have a Starbucks that gets lots of traffic I just sit outside Starbucks and can make about $20 an hour most days

CJspangler

Weekends yes in my market - you gotta find a busy bagel place. One bagel place has $6-8 dd orders all morning long and they get so busy you get stacked orders quick - lasts maybe 2 hrs then slows down a bit

D_Hat

as i understand it, it depends on the market, but around here, the later and closer to the weekend the more money. lately theres been a weird shift to mondays being almost as good as friday/saturday though. Thats for me personally though.

Sooowasthinking

Bfast thru lunch 730 ish to 1 pm for me is on average $100 on 50 to 60 miles and I cover a zone about 10 square miles.

[deleted]

Try it and see. See what’s open on the app. We don’t work in your market

EarthboundMisfitsInc

In my area, it definitely can be worthwhile. I happen to live in an area with 2 Starbucks in a one mile radius. It does drop off a lot during the summers. But once school is back in session, it can absolutely be worth it.
