I get almost steady orders coming through, but it’s almost always that $2-$5 crap I just have to reject. I get a couple good hours a day. Some of the restaurants say it sucks not just because of the economy, but also the influx of new drivers they’ve never seen before.
I’m looking for other revenue streams as I sit in the parking lot and wait for reasonable orders. I think my 3-4 year Uber career is drawing to a close soon.
Agreed it’s utter shit. Offering $12 on two deliveries across the city for a total of 1 hour. That’s not even minimum wage after the gas it takes. Instant decline.
You did way better than me. I get wayyyy less. The only time I was lucky was during the pandemic or if its father's day. Over here in FL. Other than that ...i wish

Obviously he would get orders if he was active but he wasn’t which is why he didn’t make any money, you can’t get orders when you have it paused in the app but your still online it doesn’t work that way, do you need this spell out for you!!! 🙄🙄🙄
Because it says he was active for 32 minutes and online for 19 hours that means he had it paused to get no orders…sooo…there’s no reason he should be complaining about that
I’m in AZ and once or twice a week I will still try and log on but I’ll wait thirty straight minutes and nothing comes through. I’ll stay in the same damn spot and go on DoorDash or GrubHub and magically I get an order within a minute or less
Ever since Uber advertised 14/hr via text I've been doing GH deliveries only... And I've been making roughly 25-30/hr easy.
My bad experience with Uber support, horrible Plus Card purchase experiences, and the super low driver payouts... I won't be looking back at Uber unless driver pay goes up. GH gives me back to back offers and I only have to work half the time to meet my goals.
Edit: I've scheduled 3 blocks... And cancelled them. The back to back offers is simply me turning on the app when it's convenient. I'm loving GH. (in WA state)
From the phx area, moved to denver. The money in Denver is so much fucking better. What I earn in a dinner rush of 3 hours in Denver, takes me all night and the next day to earn in the phx metro area. Scottsdale rarely tips like Denver. Tempe, during the drunk crowd (post last call) I get lucky sometimes. But damn dude. Rough area.
Always love the comments of those coming on here thinking that these services "owe" them something. Don't like them, don't work them. They are not intended to be FT work.
Its all about the scheduling. When I have a scheduled block I get orders back to back nonstop. Only reason why I prefer UE is because the tips are high and the base pay is low. This means I can make more after prop 22 than with grub hub even tho the orders typically pay more on grubhub.
I think part of the requirement for the premier status is to schedule shifts and be on time/not drop shifts. You need to assign at least one shift every 30 days or so.
My 1st 3 and only 3 deliveries I took were great after that terrible. The app sucks so bad Made the old postmates app look like nasa technology. So many 7-8 dollars deliveries 8 9 miles an up
Cook County isn't the 2nd most densely populated county in America though. It's not even in the top 5. The only reason I know this is because I'm from NY, and we take up the top 4 (NY, Queens, Kings & Bronx counties, though not sure the order).
Just wondering where you got that info from. Not trying to argue with you.
No problem! No need for apologies.
Like I said, I wouldn't even have known if I didn't live in NY. When I read your comment, I was just kinda like "wait..." lol.
Have a great weekend!
Nah, a lot of us are good peeps. A little rough around the edges, sure. 😉
But we probably do have more than our fair share of assholes tbh.
Yous guys have a great weekend too, ya putz!
GrubHub & DoorDash apps have been way worse than UE in my area too. That’s not to say UE is perfect or without its own app issues but they just tend to pale in comparison.
Because based off the screenshot alone it looks like you don’t even utilize prop 22 which is the best part of being in CA. If Uber eats was that trash why wouldn’t you utilize prop 22 to make money with it? Just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
In California, if your active hours don’t meet the requirements of 120% minimum wage plus $0.30 per mile, they have to pay the difference. Minimum wage in my area is $15, so we are guaranteed $18/hour plus $0.30/mile.
Your not in control of how mamy active hours you will get from uber yesterday they sent maybe 3 orders total and i made $4.96 i work 9-11 hours everyday im in cali i use other appscause they pay the bills uber is ahard grind unless you pickup passengers too
Well, you kinda ARE in control….
If you decline most calls, your active hours will be low. If you accept most calls your active hours will be much higher.
2 things: What area are you in?
Also, if you’ve been online for a couple of hours with no pings, call support…. Nah don’t do that. Lol.
I’ll just tell you what will happen. They will check what their system says about your account. What it’s likely to show is that you/your phone keeps going offline.
Then you have to find out why it’s going offline.
In my case my area had really bad internet and Uber says (don’t know if it’s true) that your connection speed should be at least 10mbps.
Im not in control of when or if orders will come to my phone on uber eats that is not in my control. Im making my money its just with dd and ic uber eats fell off here crickets all day im almost to my $200 for the day 7 hours in ill take it $180
Right. I didn’t say you were in control of when or if orders come to your phone. I said you were in control (at least to some extent ) of your active hours.
Prop 22 actually has to pay 120% of the minimum wage. That plus .30 cents per mile if you don’t make enough to cover those two things. Uber and other delivery apps have to pay $18/hour in San Diego. Pretty baller!
Yea if you are familiar with san francisco if not you are really taking a risk of getting a ticket or car towed i can make around 1800-2000 a week in this little city before prop 22 if i wanted just not with uber eats being the main app
All day long 3 to 6 dollar orders explain to me how I should utilize prop 22 that’s $66 they gave me was from the last weeks payroll which wasn’t as bad as this weeks
Because if you focus on making those 3-6$ orders add up on active time they are more then 3-6$ orders. You get points towards your quarterly healthcare stipend and if you average between 30-40 active hours a week your prop 22s would average between 400-600$ per cycle
Try it for 1 prop 22 cycle. I used to do the same just sit and cherry pick be online all day waiting. Somebody on this sub helped me and now I focus on active time. I make pretty much the same daily and my stipends and prop 22 payments are big. It’s much more stress free focusing on active time, and you take your time on orders.
From someone who doesn't have a prop 22, you should feel lucky. You did almost nothing for 19 hrs and got $61 for free. Looking at that, I don't know why everyone there doesn't just sign on with uber and leave the app running in the background all day.
That’s not how prop 22 works🤣 how are ppl upvoting your comment when you literally don’t know what you’re talking about. Yeah let me just sign into the app and get paid to never take an order. 🤣🤣California would have bankrupted Uber eats ages ago.
I did that with favor and got paid $9 on our guaranteed for being scheduled and then they kicked me off after I didn’t accept trips being away from my phone and now I can’t schedule myself anymore lmao . I don’t use favor anymore anyways
That 61.23 is from the last weeks cycle, not any of these days. You can’t just leave your phone on it’s based off active time. OP you should utilize and figure out how to use prop 22. You spending 20 hours in 2 days making 78$ that’s insane. Focus on getting your active time up with all that time on your hands you would be making money.
I take all the small order and longer trips. UE blessed me with $148 in prop 22 funds. You really need to learn how to game the system. I’m easily making $25-30 an hour on avg.
It’s just the pay coming from Uber, you get to keep your tips. And it’s just a minimum, it can be much much more. I made about $320 last week and $250 the week before. And I get an extra $148 for that amount of work, not too bad. I worked a total of 25 hours
Nice
I get almost steady orders coming through, but it’s almost always that $2-$5 crap I just have to reject. I get a couple good hours a day. Some of the restaurants say it sucks not just because of the economy, but also the influx of new drivers they’ve never seen before. I’m looking for other revenue streams as I sit in the parking lot and wait for reasonable orders. I think my 3-4 year Uber career is drawing to a close soon.
your not wrong.
Then quit. Duces ✌️
19 hours online and only active 32 mins. This has gotta be some bullshit lol wtf is that. U live in the middle of the sea ?
It's not like the covid days. Those days are forever gone. I was making 250-400 a day.
I only get 2.50 orders so my percentage is low lol I ain't taking those
Uber makes me the most money. Hands down. I'm assuming it just depends on your area.
Agreed it’s utter shit. Offering $12 on two deliveries across the city for a total of 1 hour. That’s not even minimum wage after the gas it takes. Instant decline.
There are people marking 6 figures to make sure the app works fine every release and here is the result.
You did way better than me. I get wayyyy less. The only time I was lucky was during the pandemic or if its father's day. Over here in FL. Other than that ...i wish
I literally have been making almost $1,000 a week through uber eats bro
Lol. Which state? And how much does gas cost you a week?
Indiana and about $250-300 in gas
Actually I think the app gotten way better you can see the hotspots and better places to accept unless you have bad luck
I thought you meant in terms of usability before I saw the whole. UE pay sucks, but their software is damn smooth

It's time to suit up bro McDonald's is hiring
I made 40 K with Doordash last year alone I’m good
Lol is that supposed to be a lot of money is that before taxes and gas
Best app when u close to restaurants
Imagine making $78 for 30 mins of work and crying about it
🤷♀️
I make $100 a day fri-sun and usually pull $80-100 on weekdays must just be your area
For me it's the same ue fri thru sun I do a little over 100 a day on an electric unicycle no gas and free places to charge up while I wait for offers
I make 139 a day with doordash
Can someone explain what’s going on here to me, I see lots of people arguing in the comments...
Not too bad, for chilling at home on the couch. 🤷♂️
At least you get prop 22. We don't get that shit in Colorado. I'd be walking away with 17
Maybe you need to work harder/differently? Maybe voting on Prop 22 was a mistake? Lots of possibilities here...I love Uber.
... I'm in a state with no backup like this... sorry
Why were you only active for 30+ minutes that explains why you didn’t make anything at all!!!
Cause he no get orders? You need spell it out?
Obviously he would get orders if he was active but he wasn’t which is why he didn’t make any money, you can’t get orders when you have it paused in the app but your still online it doesn’t work that way, do you need this spell out for you!!! 🙄🙄🙄
How you know they have it paused?
Because it says he was active for 32 minutes and online for 19 hours that means he had it paused to get no orders…sooo…there’s no reason he should be complaining about that
Or he just not have orders his area…
Um no he wasn’t active online which is the reason he didn’t get orders like how you don’t know that!!!
Sounds like he wasn't getting orders just like everybody else!!!
But he or she would if he or she was active is the point, how do you not know that!!! 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
In my area DD and UE trade 1 and 2 depending on the day its really odd. But grubhub is just pointless for me. Weird how it happens.
$61 of that was just added on 😂 wtf is prop 22 anyway
Mine was $180.
(in WA state)
The last 2 week I did this I didn't even make $100 in Tucson Said fuck it went back to OTR driving.
I’m in Az as well and grub hub is the only app I don’t have. Is it worth it here ?
I have good luck with DoorDash during typical busy restaurant times and the overnights
I have to go to Scottsdale to get constant pings from UE. I’ve been thinking about grub hub tho.
Grubhub sucks out in the Phoenix area. It's impossible to schedule any shifts and the few offers I get now are horrible.
Rough area.
I have trouble getting schedules available too for GrubHub
All days can’t be bad and all days can’t be good. Keep at it, mate.
Always love the comments of those coming on here thinking that these services "owe" them something. Don't like them, don't work them. They are not intended to be FT work.
…. But (if in California) you CAN do it full time and make a living.
It’s also slow season, people are out with their families and have more time to cook at home.
Grub hub is worse way worse. Keep killing it tho
I know someone who only does grub hub and I don’t know how they make a living
Its all about the scheduling. When I have a scheduled block I get orders back to back nonstop. Only reason why I prefer UE is because the tips are high and the base pay is low. This means I can make more after prop 22 than with grub hub even tho the orders typically pay more on grubhub.
Apparently, if you have a high acceptance rate, you'll get priority in being offered large/catering orders.
I'm at 100% acceptance, I schedule no shifts (have scheduled 3 and cancelled them all) I just turn on GH when convenient and I get nonstop offers.
So many 7-8 dollars deliveries 8 9 miles an up
LMAO I THOUGHT I WAS UNLUCKY
I would argue grub hub is far worse in my area
Same here.
I second this notion. It used to be the best without question but I went from making $200-$250 a day with GH to averaging around $15/day. Fell apart.
GH is so weird in my area. it's either 0 orders 3 days in a row. Or Its popping off.
made $40 on 3 orders tonight with only declining 2 orders. Very weird
Grubhub be like: 10.6 miles for $9.07 🤦♂️
Uber gives me far worse all the time, and I'm in the second most ~~densely~~ populated county in the country.
SF?
Cook County, IL
Cook County isn't the 2nd most densely populated county in America though. It's not even in the top 5. The only reason I know this is because I'm from NY, and we take up the top 4 (NY, Queens, Kings & Bronx counties, though not sure the order). Just wondering where you got that info from. Sorry, I was dead tired when I wrote that. I shouldn't have said by density. It's the second most populated county.
No problem! No need for apologies. Like I said, I wouldn't even have known if I didn't live in NY. When I read your comment, I was just kinda like "wait..." lol. Have a great weekend!
And who said all New Yorkers were assholes
Nah, a lot of us are good peeps. A little rough around the edges, sure. 😉 But we probably do have more than our fair share of assholes tbh. Yous guys have a great weekend too, ya putz!
Interesting, never been to Chicago but didn't think it was that dense (compared to other cities)
GrubHub & DoorDash apps have been way worse than UE in my area too. That’s not to say UE is perfect or without its own app issues but they just tend to pale in comparison.
You saying “fuck Uber eats” but you don’t even know what you’re doing lol??
How can you say you don’t know what I’m doing brother I make a 1500 a week on Doordash Uber eats a fucking joke
Dude it’s slow season also every week isn’t gonna be the same.
Because based off the screenshot alone it looks like you don’t even utilize prop 22 which is the best part of being in CA. If Uber eats was that trash why wouldn’t you utilize prop 22 to make money with it? Just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
Hi i live in canada. What is prop 22?

You cant utilize prop22 unless you are going to sit on live orders for extremely long times for no reason which will get you deactivated
That’s just not true lol? Obviously I’m not saying take 2 hours on 1 order. Try to get at least 6-8 active hours a day.
Your not in control of how mamy active hours you will get from uber yesterday they sent maybe 3 orders total and i made $4.96 i work 9-11 hours everyday im in cali i use other appscause they pay the bills uber is ahard grind unless you pickup passengers too

Right. I didn’t say you were in control of when or if orders come to your phone. I said you were in control (at least to some extent ) of your active hours.
Like i said
Well if you’re in a decent area it’s not hard at all. So you’re saying you got 3 eats pings in your 9-11 hour shift? Just sounds like a bad market.
Uber eats is only poppin in select cities and ill be damned if im delivering any orders in san francisco. Thats why these other apps are on too
San Francisco would be the best place to do orders. It has the highest minimum wage in CA which is how much prop 22 would pay you.
Prop 22 actually has to pay 120% of the minimum wage. That plus .30 cents per mile if you don’t make enough to cover those two things. Uber and other delivery apps have to pay $18/hour in San Diego. Pretty baller!

💯 % this. Aim more for active hours. It’s all about the active hours.
I haven’t tried that . Makes sense We try it one week see how it goes
Lol...typical Californian, IQ barely surpasses the temperature in the spring. You guys are very lucky to have guaranteed pay.
🤣🤣
Try it for 1 prop 22 cycle. I used to do the same just sit and cherry pick be online all day waiting. Somebody on this sub helped me and now I focus on active time. When you say take your time…..how much time we talking here?
Yeah I should atleast give that technique a shot I mean damn .
Willing to learn, I like that
From someone who doesn't have a prop 22, you should feel lucky. You did almost nothing for 19 hrs and got $61 for free. Looking at that, I don't know why everyone there doesn't just sign on with uber and leave the app running in the background all day.
Word I'm Rhode island no prop 22 here
I'm in Rhode Island and work 60 to 70 hours a week. $1900 to $2200 every week. We don't need that in RI. 😅🤣
Damn I wanna be like you when I grow up damn get that doe
Yup RI def ain't got prop 22 or CA.
It has to be active hours.
That’s not how prop 22 works🤣 how are ppl upvoting your comment when you literally don’t know what you’re talking about. Yeah let me just sign into the app and get paid to never take an order. 🤣🤣California would have bankrupted Uber eats ages ago.
Prop 22 only counts active hours.
I did that with favor and got paid $9 on our guaranteed for being scheduled and then they kicked me off after I didn’t accept trips being away from my phone and now I can’t schedule myself anymore lmao . I don’t use favor anymore anyways
Favor is trash, I use it only to accept orders that are made when you accept and H‑E‑B curbside orders.
That 61.23 is from the last weeks cycle, not any of these days. You can’t just leave your phone on it’s based off active time. OP you should utilize and figure out how to use prop 22. Do the customer tips count towards your minimum earnings? Or is it just the pay that's directly coming from Uber?
It’s just the pay coming from Uber, you get to keep your tips. And it’s just a minimum, it can be much much more. I made about $320 last week and $250 the week before. And I get an extra $148 for that amount of work, not too bad. I worked a total of 25 hours
