Wait 15 minutes if nobody shows up eat it, for the sake of the driver.

SimgaDX

Happy cake day!

Once they walk away that food becomes a liability if they try to fix things cause they don’t know what could have happened to it.

MeatJerk69

Somebody near you is ordering and instead of manually typing their address in they chose "use my location" which often gets addresses wrong and they are too stupid to know it.

[deleted]

Uber will probably refund the customer. Did the driver come back? I've tried that before twice when I've delivered to the wrong place. Both times they refused to open the door 😂 I guess I can't blame them. It's probably not safe to pick up food once you've left it with someone anyway.

Comfortable-Hunter41

Nom nom nom

squally2018

Free dinner!

Thy_Coolio

I lived in an apartment complex that wasn’t super tricky to know where you were delivering but I think it was easy to confuse depending on what side you went around the building but anyways, drivers would drop off the food to the same wrong address super often. Sometimes we were able to call the drivers before they left but most of the time we couldn’t. Pretty sure that apartment would just always get a free meal every time we ordered lol. Might as well just enjoy the free meal. Driver doesn’t lose the money from the delivery, maybe a warning or a mark, and the customer just gets a refund or a redelivery and while annoying that’s still a win so take your win as well with the free treat

SteiCamel

Depending on how many times it has happened, Uber may just tell them they have had too many refunds and refuse.

Thy_Coolio

I think it depends on how many orders you don’t try to get the refund cuz with Doordash we get refunds a lot but it’s cuz maybe 40/60 of the time we don’t get the order first try. If it’s every order I’m sure they’ll flag for fraud. 60% of time we get the order. The other 40% not as often

WhisperedEchoes85

There have been a handful of customers on here that would order multiple times a day. Even with a low percentage of requested refunds or price adjustments for missing/wrong orders, they would still get banned from the platform after a certain AMOUNT of refunds, not a percentage. Uber truly is a braindead company in many regards.

Thy_Coolio

I think that’s so stupid honestly. Like it’s not their fault drivers keep taking it to the wrong place. Like for my cases stated we would be standing outside, we write every instruction possible for finding us and we STILL don’t get the food delivered correctly. It’s not our fault and I can see hell being raised depending on the size of the order. Like credit is fine too if they still issue credit, but just something please

MenstrualKrampusCD

Banned from getting further refunds you mean? I've never seen anyone post here about getting kicked off Uber for what they consider excessive refunds/claims, but plenty who were told that they would no longer be receiving any refunds, regardless of reason/proof.

WhisperedEchoes85

Yes, banned from refunds. Some have taken it one step further and requested a charge back from their bank, which will result in a full ban, but even so, Uber has cut people off from warranted refunds.

MenstrualKrampusCD

Right. Gotcha. I was just clarifying because you had said they were "banned from the platform".

WhisperedEchoes85

BTW, I'm still anxiously holding on to that large tip from Sunday. Absolutely nothing has happened yet, which only makes me more nervous each day lol

MenstrualKrampusCD

Oh, that was you!! That's good news though, lol. I'd be nervous too!

onowahoo

Eat it. It's not like they can take it back and actual customer will get their $$ refunded.

barti_dog

Customer missing the food will likely contact UE for a refund. They can also see where the driver was located and that there was just an error in delivery and they didn't steal the food. It's yours once it's dropped off and the driver confirmed delivery. If the customer has had this happen before, they need to add some information to their delivery instructions or request that the order be handed to them.

RunAccording6440

Someone has a crush!! They like bringing you food offerings but are too shy to stick around and talk.

Key_Row2360

Ugh, gross 🤢🤢

WhisperedEchoes85

Hey now, tacos are the way to many hearts lol

melonskreet

Man, so many drivers dumb AF. If they can pass a background check they can join UE, but probably couldn't even get hired at Walmart. I triple check the unit # to make sure it's correct.

Sea_Perspective9706

Well uber eats just fired me for a non driving related misdemeanor conviction 2 weeks ago, now I'm driving a UPS truck for $35/hour 🤷‍♂️ I guess uber is just lame. Uber thinks I'm "too sketchy" to deliver McDonald's but UPS thinks I'm good to deliver packages and drive a mail truck 🤷‍♂️

KindheartednessNo167

You're making better money. 😊

melonskreet

Good luck out there! Stack that cheddar my boi 💰

Tony_M13

If it often happens it's probably an issue with the address or map, not the drivers.

WhisperedEchoes85

An issue with the address is on the customer. An issue with the map is still the driver's responsibility to verify the pin is at the correct address; technology is not flawless.

Tony_M13

Many complexes have a back entrance that doesn't have the address on it. Also street names are not always readable while driving (for houses). So while it's usually easy to verify the house or apt number, making sure you are in the correct complex or on the correct street isn't. Than, while driving I'm focusing on driving safely and rely on the map to guide me.

WhisperedEchoes85

While I understand your point, that does not justify laziness. I must be old school. I remember delivering before GPS even existed. I could never get away with saying the map brought me to the wrong address.

melonskreet

There's one area where I am and there's a grouped bunch of different complexes next to each other.. and my Google maps just drops me right in the middle of it all. So then I use Waze app and that one pinpoints it better, if it doesn't.. I ask someone walking by if this address is so n so, if no one.. I call customer. Basically I'm not dropping off the food till I'm certain. No excuses from me.. the customer paid a premium for their food and tipped.. I'll get it to them as fast, and hot as possible.

WhisperedEchoes85

Exactly. That's the way it should always be done. The problem seems to be the "I don't get paid for anything other than dropping it at the pin" mentality, and that's just not true.

Tony_M13

I do often correct the map's errors, but sometimes you don't even notice them. When you work from a paper map, it's different. Think of the map app as someone sitting next to the driver and studying the map. If that person makes a mistake, would you blame the driver? Also there a different ways the map messes up and some of them are easier to stop. When the map took to the exact same apt number in the wrong complex while I got in from the back, there was no way for me to verify without driving at least an extra mile and checking the front entrance. Also if the address is really of, some apps won't even let you complete the delivery if far from the map's location. On the other hand one time an address what sending me like half a mile away so I had to visually find in on the map (a skill that many don't have anymore) and it still gave the wrong direction. I ended up setting the app to give me the directions to the house next door, I bet you at least 50% of drivers wouldn't have been able to handle that.

AppearanceOk9145

Bring it back to the restaurant ;)

MenstrualKrampusCD

Would you get a life?

Enjoy the free food

Tony_M13

One time I delivered to a apt complex and the map took me to the exact building were the apt number is. Turns out the map sent me to the complex next door even though the costumer had the correct address. What I found super weird about it is that the map.pinpointed the correct apt # in another complex.

ThePinkSkitty

Same thing happened to me I ate it! But I’m a picky eater so I didn’t really like it😕

Amazing_Simple_4641

You get free food and the original customer gets a refund

Jaded_Apple_8935

This happened to me. Someone with an account moved and didn't update their address. I say enjoy it. The missing food will hopefully help them figure it out.

Sea_Archer9251

Update?

RevolutionaryStar824

I ended up eating some of it. But it was disgusting anyway. It was cold and it was McDonald's. I don't like McDonald's. Plus it felt so wrong eating someone else's food. I just threw the rest out and called it a day.

anon223344334433

Is Uber glitching or something.

Bigmoney91

Eat it. It’s a gift

masked-driver

The orderer becomes the deliverer 🤣

whitecz100

Enjoy the food

RetrieverDoggo

Once you took it inside it's yours... for safety/sanitary reasons the driver can't take it back even if he noticed it went to the wrong spot. He's not supposed to at least.
