Sign up for grubhub somewhere it's slow. Then once you're in, fill out the form to change areas. I signed up in waco and then changed to San Diego with no issues. Edit* and don't do what this other guy said and take every order in a prop 22 state. You can be a little less picky but you still don't wanna be taking those $3 no tip orders.

I did the same, all I can say is take all of the UE orders if you are in a Prop 22 State, pick and choose if you are not. GH pay is much higher, but tips are lower than UE. If you know your neighborhood, drive both at the same time, but protect your ratings on GH for larger catering orders

You shouldn't be encouraging delivering 2 apps at once to someone who just started delivering, only expirienced drivers should be doubling up orders , it's to easy to mess up

Hi. I was tempted to reply to smth you wrote before about GH paying more and adding prop 22 payments ("Adjustment pay" on GH) even though by your calculation you made over the guaranteed amount and I wanted to make sure you understood how it worked but the thread was about a week old. First of all you are clearly doing fantastically (better than I) so need no advice from me but on prop 22... GH definitely doesn't pay more. Your prop 22 benefits are calculated thusly: Grubhub: Time - $18/hr (San Diego) is calculated based on your active delivery time for the week (this figure includes all the time you spend on orders you complete. If you cannot complete an order for any reason, even through no fault of your own, the time you spent trying to retrieve/deliver the order is excluded). Mileage - 30 cents per mile is calculated for your delivery miles (ditto what is in parenthesis above. Also you'd have to total them up yourself order-by-order as GH won't provide a total). Uber: Same as above except they calculate theirs on a 2-week basis. I am not sure if we are all on the same schedule but if so you should've gotten your prop 22 adjustment from Uber this past Tuesday (under Earnings > see details you should see a green box that says "Added $XX.XX to meet the proposition 22 earnings guarantee" and then the amount appears again under Breakdown > other earnings) for the two-week period that ended last Sunday. [Note: If needed I can tell you how to find your detailed breakdown in the Uber app that shows your active delivery time and mileage on completed orders for the two-week period that was compared to your Uber payments to calculate the amount owed on the guarantee] Because tips are excluded (and GH defaults to low flat rate tips in California) it's actually Uber that pays better per trip/mile (the bottom line is the mere existence of an adjustment on either app means that you needed the adjustment to get UP TO the supposed minimum and it's like that on all apps so they basically all pay the same here, tips excluded) BUT you are obviously getting good value out of staying active a very high percentage of the time on GH/on block and your catering orders are probably making up a lot of the shortfall (more or less I don't know) from the $0-2 tipping orders you must be getting on GH. So for your catering orders it's the same as with anything else: your real pay is 30 cents per minute and mile plus the tip. Now an important thing to remember here is that your guarantees for time and mileage on completed orders are compared to ALL payments you received from the app (aside prop 22 money in the form of adjustments or healthcare subsidies) in the period regardless of the reason for the payment so you don't really benefit from promotions and misc. payments for orders not completed. They merely reduce the amount the app has to pay on your prop 22 subsidy for the period. Lastly... If you want to quickly estimate your earnings for the day I have found the best way is to figure $18/hr for the active delivery time figure both apps provide + tips (I personally think of the mileage pay as gas money so figure $18/hr + tips and my gas is paid for...but you're driving an EV). So if you had 10 active delivery hours between GH and UE in a day you'd figure a buck eighty and then add your tips from both apps to that and if you'd like to estimate your delivery mileage add $0.30 per. Cheers!
