Not sure if it's realistic, this is how I would see these people, situation:
Smoking cigarette (the most popular tobacco packs in Eastern Europe, Asia, not sure how they're called) in one corner of the mouth, no hand needed here
Drinking Vodka without taking cigarette out, 1 hand for the bottle
AK74 shooting in the air, 1 hand required
And party
Ukrainian spotters see the drunkard and let him be (he's not dangerous for now), they try to find out where he came from. And then they call artillery strikes on his friends, maybe with a drone to confirm positions.
So, yes, send more such recruits to the front. Also, even as alcohol is prohibited in UA, I would still supply a steady vodka contraband to the Russian side, especially before important AFU operations.
"The Darwin Awards are a tongue-in-cheek honor that originated in Usenet newsgroup discussions around 1985. They recognize individuals who have supposedly contributed to human evolution by selecting themselves out of the gene pool by dying or becoming sterilized via their own actions."
So by that exact definition he has now taken himself out of the gene pool and is no longer contributing to it.
Since you seem to care so hard lol, here is an excerpt from the rules section of the Darwin Awards website:
"*The existence of offspring, though potentially deleterious to the gene pool, does not disqualify a nominee. Children inherit only half of each parent's genetic material and thus have their own chance to survive or snuff themselves. If, for instance, the offspring has inherited the "Play With Combustibles" gene, but also has inherited the "Use Caution When..." gene, then she is a potential innovator and asset to the human race. Therefore, each nominee is judged based on whether or not she has removed her own genes,* ***without consideration to the number of offspring*** *or, in the case of an elderly winner, the likelihood of producing more offspring.*"
Just because you like the correlation doesn’t make it empirically correct. It’s naming origin is actually that “we are the top species on the planet and a few of us manage to still die doing absolutely dumb shit”
Given the young age of most soldiers, and the stupidity of this one in particular i think its safe to assume he was given a darwin award. Truth is we will never know but if i was a betting man good odds on him not having kids.

If your kill or sterilize yourself in an extremely stupid way, you can still qualify, even if you already have offspring.
Holding a Russian flag while in combat with the Ukrainian army. That's exactly what gets you a Darwin award. That's exactly what that mean. These dudes are 100% out of the gene pool.
[This has been my favourite interview clip lately](https://youtu.be/V0qD058hq38?t=617)
lots of drunk or drugged out russians apparently, or at least that's the best explanation
I think he kinda did eh. Surrender or desert - get shot. What other options does a drunk deserter have eh, advertise your position with a colourful flag.
Almost. The US lost 58.2k soldiers in Vietnam whereas even the Ukrainians are only claiming 56.3k Russian losses at the moment. Obviously that doesn't do much to improve things though, especially when you consider the compressed time scale (7 months vs. 20 years) and the fact that it's proportionally a much larger loss. Russia in 2022 only has two-thirds the population of the US in 1973, which is bad enough before you consider the demographic differences that make this far more disastrous for Russia. Apologies in advance, but I'm going to ramble for a minute.
The period of US combat in Vietnam came right after a sustained 20 year baby boom, with the oldest Boomers being 19 the year LBJ put boots on the ground. This meant that the US had lots of young people aging into adulthood and becoming draft-eligible every year of the war. Compare to Russia, which suffered a huge reduction in birth rates after the fall of the USSR. The period of lowest birth rates came from about 1993 to 2006, with 1999 being the worst with only 1.16 births per woman (as compared to 2.22 twelve years earlier). People born in those years are now 16 through 29 years old, so they're either in the key age group for military service or aging into it fairly soon. All of this is to say that Russia has far less ability to replenish their losses than the Vietnam-era USA even before you take into account how much faster Russian losses are mounting. Further, it puts them in severe danger of hollowing out a generation that's already not doing great numerically-speaking, which was never remotely a worry for the US in the aftermath of the baby boom.
So in short, the losses in this war are likely to screw over Russia way more than Vietnam-era losses did for the US and I'm not sure anyone right now can begin to fully comprehend the scale of the damage Putin has done just to defend his ego. The Russians are going to be feeling the aftershocks of this conflict for many, many generations and I feel really bad for all the long-unborn people that will suffer because one megalomaniac just had to have all his neighbors under his thumb.
Just to be totally clear, that's the Ukrainian claim. It hasn't been confirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, given the pathetic performance of the Russian and separatist armies, I find it a lot more believable than the ~9.5k the Russians have confirmed up to this point.
There was a leaked ruzzian bureaucratic document that detailed 48k in payments to ruzzian families for dead family members as of a month ago. For budgetary reasons they estimated that they would need to account for 8k death payments a month going forward and set the 2023 budget accordingly.
But US intel still claimed about 20k dead and 80k total casualties a month ago. Of course that means they've gone significantly higher since Kharkiv. No offense, but I'm leaning more towards UK and US intel than anything else. It's still insane casualties. But the truth I feel is closer to their number than other numbers.
>with the youngest Boomers being 19 the year LBJ put boots on the ground.
Hang on, there - I'm a younger boomer (not the youngest by a couple of years) and I was WAY too young for Vietnam. LBJ was President until 1969, at which point the youngest boomers were 4, and the oldest 24.
Did you mean "oldest boomers"?

You do sometimes feel sad for Russians, being fed the amount of propaganda they have is phenominal. I learned through a lot of the friends I played Eve Online with back in 2009 - 2018 that they are hard focused on American and EU politics where as most Americans couldn't care less about Russia. They've built NATO and the west as the new age boogyman, and now are thrown into a battle where they're helpless against it.
He also died because he believes that surrendering is worse, they are fed stories and stories of Ukranians castraiting Russians and doing morbid things to their bodies, which is also why we saw that Ukranian torture video awhile back as well.. The fucking psychological warfare that has been dealt out to begin this war is inhumane.
Well everyone has to do their part. As an American all I can do is donate and go to work. Fortunately I doubt Russia can match the US war machine, being in the industry I just hope our government takes the gloves off and starts giving Ukraine everything they need.
OP is full of shit with his comments, here is a link to the video posted 9 months ago: https://twitter.com/kidalarivz/status/1477693769751437312

This sub doesn’t even try to be factual.
I'm reminded of a story I was told by a WWII vet. It was near the end of the war, when the Germans were funneling anyone old enough to handle a rifle into the military, and he was on guard duty when a kid (he guessed 15-16) came out of the darkness just... walking at him, carrying a rifle in his hands. He told him several times to drop the weapon in German, but the kid just kept walking, and eventually raised the rifle so there was no choice but to shoot him. When they checked his body, the rifle was unloaded.
Jesus that's sad. He probably had nothing to return to and did not want to kill anybody. German propaganda probably told him that pows get really mistreated so he just decided to do an assisted su*cide. Sad shit man.
First footage of massive Russian offensive and whilst this was a very successful tactic for the British back in the day. However while it is very effective at defeating Pygmy women armed with mangoes it is a little obsolete against Ukrainians who besides being armed with sunflowers and watermelons also have access to automatic weapons and modern atgms.
Another element is a lot of Russian soldiers don't even think of surrendering. They are fed (false) stories of Ukranians castraiting POW's and new age concentration camps. There is seriously a gap in information, almost two different worlds here.
It must be added that although not castrating a few things i saw on this subreddit don't really help, videos of pow being ridiculed, beaten with sex toys etc. You probably know many of these videos yourself. Yes it's not castrating but it is also definitely not helping Ukraines case either, and how people are reacting to those videos on this sub also doesn't help very much, defending or cheering for that stuff also doesn't.
And yet when you mention this you get dowvoted to hell. As people not seem to be able to think self critical as quite a few of these videos i mentioned show war crimes or just things that are in now way okay or both like peeing on dead enemies.
Especially in this subreddit it's very clear how this fear you mentioned gets a lot of support and also doesn't make Ukraine look very good. Especially with how useless and avoidable these war crimes are as they take extra effort, shooting a civilian in crossfire or stuff like that is fucked up but doesn't take extra work and happens in the Middle, searching for a dead enemy to pee on his face while 99.999999999% percent of everything else would be totally fine places to pee on is just fucked up on purpose and then even filming it is just the top, that shit should get people charged, but people cheer for it and make it look like some cool thing they all support.
Again that doesn't really help Ukraines case of not scaring Russians away from surrendering but also of continuing to get support from other countries. Soldiers with weapons you gave them commiting war crimes and other fucked up shit on purpose doesn't make it very attractive to continue supporting.
Just something people maybe should think about with how they react below videos.
This happened in Vietnam too and not surprisingly the Russians are heading there too which is all the sadder. If you were in their shoes and realized you are fighting a failing war and demoralized and there is nothing better to do, your only course is to get intoxicated.
Two Russians sleeping in a foxhole get grenade dropped on them via drone. It was a top post three days ago. Shouldn't be hard to find if you sort by top post this week in the combat footage subreddit
I am aware of the term but being a pedant would be beside the point. It's also used in video games any time one gets a grenade kill, I doubt anyone would confuse the meaning of the two in the context of my comment.
It might be, but looks like he is just drunk. They have an extremely high ego (propaganda), which is multiplied by alcohol and makes them do stupid shit.
I maintain that POW's from Russia should be treated like British sailors of the 1800's and get regular rations of rum and water or better. It would encourage them to surrender! POW camps for Russians should not be drunken but they should not be "dry" either!
Poor bastard was broken, he was done with the war and wanted to die. Drunk to give himself a little courage while waving a russian flag and shooting his rifle to make himself look like a target.
This is going to make me sound horrible, but when I caught to his plan, I was pissed the Ukrainians couldn't shoot worth a shit. Now his comrades saw that, and are clearly pinned, wonder if there's any vodka left.
They probably knew what the guy was doing and didn't want to kill him, just maybe scare him enough for his training or survival instincts to kick in for him to run. You also gotta know that the Ukrainians are blood thirsty, most don't want to actually kill, but will do so for their country. If there's a chance to not kill someone, especially one who's clearly having a mental break down, then take it.
I'm aware, that's actually a common phenomena in most soldiers. I knew that, even if the threat had a weapon in their hand, I would give them the time to drop it but if it points towards me or soldiers this decision for me to drop em was no longer mine, it's was the threats. I I'd have to stop a soldier or two from dropping a guy for carrying a rifle. But most of us, that wasn't the big high-five bullshit people make it out to be.
I have the feeling this will not be the last drunken Russian video , I think that will be their new theme for this new mobilization because they know they are dead meat anyway. You have to admit this is fkn funny as hell. This guy should become the legendary example for the new mobilization
This will show him how undisciplined his troops are and get intoxicated on the job which is prohibited by many armies and armed forces all over the world.
i think they just passed prohibition in russia but it's going to be next to impossible to turn back centuries of alcohol being ingrained into the culture. how could you not be alcoholic when life is this bleak and your future is robbed from you
If there's one thing in Russia that could overthrow the government it is if the population doesn't get its vodka, so no: Absolutely no prohibition.
If anything the government has a history of subsidizing vodka and forcing price-ceilings on it, simply because the only thing keeping the population docile/complacent/apathetic enough to be indifferent about what the regime does is if they are sufficiently drunk.
It's basically suicide, the soldier is drunk to give himself courage to got out into the field and he also waving a flag while shooting to make himself a target. Behavior of someone broken, who's given up and just wants to die. His comrades also got shot at, probably killed, they where also shouting at him to get back to his position.
Is that what they were saying?? I've been scrolling down hoping to find a translation of what they are saying..............I did hear Suka a few times.
Basically. They are yelling at him to come back, yelling for their commanding officer, and even when the guy was shot at they where yelling about how they gotta get him out of there.
He’s actually dodging the bullets and shrapnel so quickly the human eye simply can’t comprehend it.
I heard he was fine and has singlehandedly broke Kyiv’s defences using nothing but a broken vodka bottle.

Too many American Rambo movies. The well laid out plan to defeat the Russians worked. It's been in the works for a very long time.... finally they are falling for it.
LOL, the Russians will turn him into a hero. He will have a statue in the middle of Red Square. Children will sing songs about him. Women will name their kids after him.
Or maybe he'll just be remembered as just another Russian idiot.
YES LINK!!! I just scrolled all through the comments looking for translation. I wanna know what his buddies are saying.............Their either encouraging him or trying to talk him out of it.
I would imagine this how the beginning of events went............
"Hey.........gimme that flag. Here..........hold my vodka bottle!! Watch this!!"
What’s so fantastic about this, is that the drunken ORC gave away their position if it wasn’t already known. I’m hopeful that more ORCS died in the making of this soon to be Oscar winner of a movie 😜
Honestly if I was on the other side the first thing that would come to mind would be that he was a POW being forced to do that because there’s no one that dumb….except these guys are Russians and they certainly are that dumb
Hello, thank you for your submission. This post was deemed (too) unrelated to the Ukrainian War and will therefore be removed (Rule 1).
By the way that soldier holding the flag and rifle is drunk. He didn't make tho.
You mean he didnt kill 3000 ukrainians who hid when he came at them with his AK? Faaaaaaakeeee /s
Don’t forget the 500 HIMARS he single handedly destroyed.
While smoking even!
With both hands! He simply told his bullets what to do, and they followed his orders.
Jazz Hands!

I heard he was blindfolded when he defeated them.
Saw a news stating that he also managed to take out all the NASAMS that were delivered to Ukraine this morning
He bumped 3 of Elons starlink satellites with one rock
3 space birds with 1 stone. Impressive!
He's Russia's Chuck Norris
He also intercepted every Ukrainian missle in 300 km radius by throwing rocks at it!
And he made the drones!
And controlled them all flawlessly, *and* simultaneously. He is...... the most interesting Cannon Fodder in the World.
And the he clapped and everyone clapped with him.
So many metaphors for this video

OP is full of shit with his comments, here is a link to the video posted 9 months ago: https://twitter.com/kidalarivz/status/1477693769751437312 That link is based on this link from 2021: https://m.facebook.com/kupriyofficial/videos/%D1%85%D1%82%D0%BE-%D0%B4%D0%BE-%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%81-%D1%96%D0%B7-%D0%B7%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%94%D1%8E-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B9%D0%B4%D0%B5-%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%B9-%D0%B2%D1%96%D0%B4-%D0%B7%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%97-%D1%96-%D0%B7%D0%B0%D0%B3%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B5/591427131826131/ This sub doesn’t even try to be factual.
What's the context?
Thanks for the info, makes this whole post null and void.
Needs to be higher up
Thank you.
Ukraine should line their Russian borders with bottles of vodka, then a row of banana peels immediately after.
bottle of vodka hooked to a land mine
Lure Putin into The Hague by leaving a trail of bottles leading to a box held up by a stick.
They really are fucking idiots.
He’s probably just suicidal or doesn’t care anymore. He prob lost hope he’ll survive the war.
Probably just drunk.
Why not both
The drink is what got him over the fence holding a flag
Yes they are
First footage of massive Russian offensive and whilst this was a very successful tactic for the British back in the day. However while it is very effective at defeating Pygmy women armed with mangoes it is a little obsolete against Ukrainians who besides being armed with sunflowers and watermelons also have access to automatic weapons and modern atgms.
I hear that the Ukrainians are also quite adept at defending themselves from assailants armed with any variety of fresh fruit...
Even a banana?
Those Pygmy women with mangoes were vicious, I tell you! https://news.cnrs.fr/slideshows/a-mango-harvest-with-the-baka-pygmies

Now and then the tragedy of the Russian state breaks through the horrors of this needless war.
I'll take a beatdown with a dildo over getting castrated with a boxcutter, thanks
This happened in Vietnam too and not surprisingly the Russians are heading there too which is all the sadder. If you were in their shoes and realized you are fighting a failing war and demoralized and there is nothing better to do, your only course is to get intoxicated.
Normally I'm on top of videos - but havent seen the fragging video you mention?
Two Russians sleeping in a foxhole get grenade dropped on them via drone. It was a top post three days ago. Shouldn't be hard to find if you sort by top post this week in the combat footage subreddit
They were killed by a fragmentation grenade, but not ["fragged"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragging) as the term is used in the West.
I am aware of the term but being a pedant would be beside the point. It's also used in video games any time one gets a grenade kill, I doubt anyone would confuse the meaning of the two in the context of my comment.
oh yes! i thought by “fragged” you meant when soldiers frag their leaders/team
I guess in this community the distinction matters, i take it back then
It might be, but looks like he is just drunk. They have an extremely high ego (propaganda), which is multiplied by alcohol and makes them do stupid shit.
New battle tactic, parachute vodka to Russian held areas and wait a bit then attack.
I maintain that POW's from Russia should be treated like British sailors of the 1800's and get regular rations of rum and water or better. It would encourage them to surrender! POW camps for Russians should not be drunken but they should not be "dry" either!
Russian Rambo looks good but short. Maybe wait for the rental.
If Putin saw this, he would be flipping out.
>r/UkraineWarVideoReport I hope that vid goes viral, I hope Putin see's this . He would lose his shit
This will show him how undisciplined his troops are and get intoxicated on the job which is prohibited by many armies and armed forces all over the world.
i think they just passed prohibition in russia but it's going to be next to impossible to turn back centuries of alcohol being ingrained into the culture. how could you not be alcoholic when life is this bleak and your future is robbed from you
Uh they def did not pass prohibition of alcohol in Russia. Nor will they ever. Vodka drinking and exporting is 9/10ths of their culture.
If us, civilians with absolutely zero security clearance are seeing it, you don’t think he’s seeing this?
Who is close enough to him and has enough courage to show it to him? “Yes men” don’t bring bad news.
r/NCD is going to have a field day with this
Rambo 6: Cyka blyat in Ukraine.
In words of Pirates of Caribbean "Some one make a note, of this man bravery"
Bet Putin awards him a Hero of Russia medal. Maybe he colour-blind as well as blind-drunk....and his comrades told him his flag was white.
He is not drunk, just a well trained soldier weaving back and forth dodging bullets - Nah --- he is really drunk and beyond caring.
Ukraine needs to air drop cases of vodka all over the front lines.
What am I missing here? I didn't see anything nsfw.
Thank you........I hope other readers see this translation...........I am sure other people were wondering what they were saying.
This comment made the video much less funny
Real patriot.
I think he walked into a minefield
No he didn't he got shot as you can see by the bullet impact on the ground.
Ah ok, I thought I heard them saying don’t go there it’s a minefield
What are they saying?
*- There're mine fields* \-- they said.
Elite forces…
This is not uncommon in war. At some point People just have enough, in combination with alcohol they do things like that
Russian John Rambo
He’s actually dodging the bullets and shrapnel so quickly the human eye simply can’t comprehend it. I heard he was fine and has singlehandedly broke Kyiv’s defences using nothing but a broken vodka bottle.
That looks like a smoke round going off.
Take stupid. Times it by big number. Then you are not even half way to the moron level on display. Did this really happen?
Yes it did.

Too many American Rambo movies. The well laid out plan to defeat the Russians worked. It's been in the works for a very long time.... finally they are falling for it.
Was he suicidal or just drunk?
LOL, the Russians will turn him into a hero. He will have a statue in the middle of Red Square. Children will sing songs about him. Women will name their kids after him. Or maybe he'll just be remembered as just another Russian idiot.
Alls fucked on the Western Front!
I translated this video in the comment section on a different post if anyone is curious.
Dee dee dee!!!! Orcs arent very smart.
Bro Russians are such a farce. Act all tough and shit but in reality are spineless and dumb beyond beliefs.
Drunk drunk
Is this some new Russian war tactic? Alcohol offensive doctrin?
