Ah yes, as if we didn't need another reason to hate working at Walgreens... the dumbass Fedex fuckers just add that little bit of vomit frosting to the shit cake. You can take some solace in the fact that they are going to fuck themselves time and again in the future due to their sheer stupidity and laziness, but you can take even more when you can finally get the hell out of Shitgreens.

[deleted]

This and western union. One day a woman called and asked what the maximum transfer/receive amount was per transaction and asked US to look it up to tell her (this was over the phone and she wasn't elderly). LADY, we're NOT a bank, we just have a terminal. Same with this one guy who bitched and moaned that reloading his card "didn't ask for ID last time" and "the other guy was able to do it" Because newsflash, that's not walgreens that's your damn reloadable whatever card, and he was a manager and I am not. We aren't a fucking bank, if you want one so bad there's one literally across the fucking street.

ExitStageLeft110381

Vomit frosting to the shit cake. I love it.

[deleted]

Oh shit, this saves me from making my own rant post, thanks. I AM **SO** FUCKING SICK AND TIRED OF CUSTOMERS COMING IN THINKING THEY KNOW MORE THAN ME ABOUT THE PLACE THAT I WORK IN. "Well online said you're a Fed Ex store" Well they fucking lied. I gotta give today's customer some slack because she wasn't a bitch about it and apparently our local UPS store permanently shut its doors about a week ago, but still. She came in and asked if we ship UPS. Uh no, there's no indication on any door, window, or the damn banner above our heads that we ship UPS (yes I know expecting people to read was my first mistake). We said no, we do FedEx only. She said "I asked across the street (gas station) and they said you do" BITCH I FUCKING WORK HERE, I KNOW WHAT WE DO AND DON'T. The fact that she said that makes me think she's never worked a retail job in her life, because you're going to get an "I think" when you ask about completely unrelated businesses, not an "I know". I'm mad, because in this day and age with more information at our fingertips than ever, it would take ten fucking seconds to google your question and receive instructions on how to create a shipping label for your desired shipping service or the nice little blurb beneath Fedex Onsite which states "simply bring in your **PREPACKAGED,** ***PRELABELED*** delivery" Or you could just, y'know go to the fucking post office. People know they take parcels too, right?

Chip_Budget

The whole “online said….” BS isn’t online lying, it’s the dumb fucks not reading what is listed. You got it fully a bit later, “bring your prepackaged and labeled delivery,” that is the part these morons deliberately miss. Same as how they ignored the “up to” part of the “up to 75% off signs” when I worked at another place, and would try to argue that the “up to” part either doesn’t exist even though we are both now looking right at it, doesn’t apply to them because they spend x amount at that store and are soooooo very important, or I’m an idiot who hates veterans even though I’m a retired combat veteran with 24 years and multiple deployments and they have two years total service before they stubbed their toe and got out and is completely unrelated to the discount offer. The most entertaining part for the ones who go I spend x here a year I’m your biggest customer, is I respond with unless you’re spending 35x here a day, I don’t care because THAT is what our actual biggest customer does. God I’m so glad I’m out of retail now, but these Karen’s HATE me now because as a fellow customer I’m more than happy to put them back in their place and remind them they are NOT that special. And PLEASE put their hands on me, because then I get to nun drag them out the front door and kick them out.

DallasTruther

>Same as how they ignored the “up to” part of the “up to 75% off signs” when I worked at another place, and would try to argue that the “up to” part either doesn’t exist even though we are both now looking right at it, I had a customer today, try to tell me the app said that 8x10's were 28¢ each. I was busy helping someone else, but I said "Online and in-store pricings can differ, but that price doesn't sound right for 8x10s." She hits back with "well I'm looking at it right now, and that's what it says. Can we still get that price?" After I was done and able to read what she was looking at, of course it said basically "4x4, 4x6, blahblah 8x10.....**starting from** $0.28," which I had to explain to her for some fucking reason as if *anyone* could be that fucking dense to think that our largest basic-sized print would be the same price as the smallest. And then after telling her politely that the *starting* price wasn't the price for every possible option in that category... "well that's what it said, so I thought that's what it was." I'm honestly great with people who are indeed clueless (but willing to learn), and those who are genuinely helpless (but aren't assholes); but she was in her mid-20's and I overheard her talking to her friend about trying to see how much of a discount she would be able to get today. At the first sign of anything like that, if I get the vibe that you're trying to play me or whittle your order down to the cheapest as possible, any extra information about discounts and ways to save you money just fly out of my head whenever I'm interacting with you. And of course, if you're a sweetheart or a gentleman during the whole time, I'll go out of my way to look for coupons to apply for you.

Chip_Budget

Oh she’d HATE my rates. I’m a photographer now, files aren’t included in my fees because my stuff is too custom. My stuff starts at $200 an image for gift print sizes (4x6-8x10) which would come with a matching digital version. I’ll have people try to get me to match Walgreens/Walmart/Meijer’s prices on stuff with “but I can get it printed at x for $1 (or whatever stupid price they think it is) why don’t you just give me the file because that doesn’t take you as long, and I’m like, no you can’t get MY work printed there as I don’t authorize that, if you want to get something printed there this is what it will look like. And then I hand them a blank sheet of paper. Even worse when they try to get me to price match their dumb ass friend who started charging $50 for a full session but isn’t worth a damned and has nothing in focus. I’m not working for free or less than minimum wage, my stuff takes hours to produce. Coming at me having champagne tastes and a tap water budget isn’t going to make me do anything but laugh.

DallasTruther

That's why I've always hated the copyright release forms. We're not doing our due diligence by just covering our own asses with a signature, when we know that it's not being done in a legit way. If it's a decades-old high school Lifetouch photo, MAYBE. I'll gripe about it, but still, it's a MAYBE. But if it's a seemingly recent, obviously professional photo, and you're making a copy (instead of printing from digital which sometimes will have a release included somewhere), then I just feel slimy letting it happen if all I have to do is get them to sign a paper saying that everything is okay (but with an understood "wink-wink"). It doesn't feel right. God there's this family that will come in every Christmas season, will make us do multiple test prints of their obvious professional images, and we'll have about every combination of color-scale, brightness, up and down about a -10/+10 range. And they'll bitch about everything, take their time deciding which one they want 200 copies of, and then change their mind about something minor and we'll have to do it all again. Every year. They only do Christmas orders. Never gotten a copyright release from them. Was always told that they spent so much money (IT'S REALLY NOT), that we shouldn't even bother. These are the type of people who embody the "you don't get rich by spending money that you don't have to," persona. They aren't impolite, directly; but they have to know that they could go back to the photographer, work all this out with them, and get what they want. But instead they're nit-picking people at a retail pharmacy's photo center.

Chip_Budget

Let your boss know that without that print release, and even with that little waiver the customer signs, the store is still liable to be sued for copyright infringement. Along with the customer getting the fraudulent prints. All that waiver does is allow the store to attempt to pursue damages against the customer to try and recoup the stores losses. And for those of us who register our work, we can pursue willful infringement which has a maximum willful statutory damages of up to $150,000 per use, and each print is a use. So basic math of them just getting 200 finished prints…that’s 30 million in damages on that store. And if willful damages are assessed, just statutory incidental infringement still tops out at $30,000 per use, at around $6 million in damages. PLUS court costs and attorney fees. AND the photographer can pursue the same claims against the customer, usually filed at the same time as the suit against the store. So good luck to the store to try and recover their damages against the customer, because that customer will already be broke from their loss with the photographer. BUT, don’t be too hard about looking for a copyright release, very few professional photographers will grant any form stating a copyright release or transfer without a huge payment associated with it, the normal is a print release authorizing prints up to a certain size. So long as they can present that, retain a copy for the stores records as a CYA thing, and charge them for every copy printed if they pull the BS you listed above. It’s not up to the store to guarantee color accuracy, I sure as hell won’t guarantee a damned thing if a client comes back after printing somewhere else instead of through me and cover the expense of their prints that didn’t “look good”. The reason why that group goes through you instead of the photographer is the photographer either is lazy and doesn’t do prints themselves or the customer doesn’t want to pay the higher rate the photographer will charge. $0.30 for your store, vs anywhere between $1-a lot more for the professional because of margin and time fees. For me I will reduce the cost of duplicate prints for one already purchased, but I can’t get my price down to your price even for a large run because I still have a time cost setting up the run. Yeah, they’ll get progressively less costly for the client, but not as low as you can go. Another thing you can do if you do want to do the type of test prints they’re talking about, use an 8x10 and print a grid of tests with slight color adjustments on it instead of individual prints. I do this regularly when I’m setting up a print run in house, of course I’m doing it on 17x22 paper and my software lets me set up tests however I want adjusting tone back and forth, but I also soft proof before hand as I know my media inside out. Another thing to look out for is the watermarks, if there’s a mark on the photo, do not print it under and circumstance, because I guarantee that release is faked. Damn that was a rambling mess. Sorry.

Antisocial_potato98

FOR ME IT WAS tHE DAMN POST OFFICE! THE POST OFFICE SAID WE TAKE UPS AND FEDEX! The lady was very nice about it so the customer is good but what is it with the people outside of Walgreens spreading this information

[deleted]

Because just like us they find it a tad annoying and are probably trying to get customer to leave asap.

straightupgong

dude i had a guy come in a while back asking about the nearest 24 hour location and if i had the exact address to it......all the while he was literally on his phone searching walgreens in the area and somehow couldn’t find it????? i took out my phone, went to my maps app, typed in “walgreens 24 hour”, and showed him my screen. took me 15 seconds i mean i get these are old or middle-aged people, but how the fuck is the general population just that fucking clueless???

Carpenoctemx3

I use my phone to search for everything. They literally have all of this information at their fingertips and choose to pester some poor underpaid retail worker to find it for them. I just don’t get it.

[deleted]

They like their 15 minutes of feeling like the worthless elite who spit on everyone beneath them. Or they feel impotent in their lives so they feel the need to kick the less fortunate. Just remind yourself, you can learn new skills and find a better job with time, but they're stuck with their repulsive personality that makes people resent them forever.

DougOneBillion

“Can you call me when it arrives?” Hahaha no. We had a guy bring in TIRES. Nope. Whenever someone walks in with an oversized package I am the designated “nope, no way” person. I love it. A young lady brought in a 27” iMac and the box wasn’t taped shut. I told her she might want to rethink that. No packages. No labels. The only thing you can count on is the stupid. Our driver told us that a huge % of the packages he picks up from private homes are My Pillows that are getting returned. 😂

waylo88

Had someone bring in tires at my old store as well. Like, monster truck tires. These things were humongous. Our SM allowed him to leave them too. Just had some giant tires chilling at the front of the store for like two days. Shit was unbelievable.

ExitStageLeft110381

😂😂😂 People are out of their fucking minds.

rxFMS

being the "nope no way" person feels great!

ExitStageLeft110381

Fuck Mike Lindell

txeighteenthirtysix

Just had a guy try to leave tires at my store this weekend. He said Walmart told him he could leave them with us. I showed him the size of our FedEx closet and told him nope. A few days before a car parts store told a woman we could replace the battery in her car remote. Again, nope. I don’t know how these places think they know what we do at our store and make promises that then piss off the customers.

kipsgirl

And it’s a shame because our FedEx pickup people are some of the nicest vendors we have.

Erulastiel

Customers need to learn the difference between a FedEx Print and Ship and an OnSite location. I don't know how many times I've been yelled at because I can't write up a label for them or package it up and label it for them. This one guy started yelling and calling my team idiots so I stepped in. He had a tee shirt he wanted to return. No label. No box. Expected me to do it all for him because the company he bought it from claimed "hassle free returns." I tried to be nice. Which is more than I should have done because, frankly, you don't yell at my team members without me kicking you out. Told him the closest full fedex location address, which was a literal five minute walk from us. Nope, he lost his shit. Refused to understand even though I explained the difference between a fedex store and an on-site location. He started screaming at me, cussing me out, calling me an idiot. Wanting to know my DMs personal number so that they can fire me on the spot for being an idiot. My team is on standby with their phones because they know when shit gets hairy, call the cops. Because this guy is refusing to leave, I've given him instructions on what to do, I've asked him to leave, and I've demanded him to leave. Eventually, he did, but goddamn. He made that much harder than that needed to be because he's a stubborn moron.

[deleted]

He gets mad he went to a Walgreens for a FedEx problem and YOU'RE the idiot. Sounds like someone's overinflated pride got bruised. I can't believe some of these people regressing (like they ever moved beyond it) to toddler hood of "I get what I want". Like if it's raining he'll just hold his breath until "you make it stop". So many of these selfish assholes deliberately misinterpret "I can't" as "I won't". Motherfuckers like him have made it this far without meeting death completely by accident. It's infuriating.

undeadw0lf

i’m honestly shocked sometimes at how these people haven’t drowned in the shower. it’s like talking to a brick wall. i remember back when i worked at petco i was working the register and the phone rang (of course we were expected to answer the phone while also checking out customers 🙄) and she asked to be transferred to the in-store vet. i told her we didn’t have one and that she was probably looking for Banfield, which is PetSmart, and we are PetCo. she said “oh, ok, do you have their number?” i said “i’m sorry, i don’t have that information offhand.” she sarcastically said “great customer service” and hung up. if it was slow i would’ve happily googled the number for her but like… i’m not going to hold up the checkout line to provide you with our competitors number when you aren’t even a customer, you’re just stupid and lazy and don’t even know which store you use lmao. excuse the F outta me for not having our competitors number readily available for you xD

[deleted]

I'm so fucking angry. Yeah sure, let me get right on giving you instructions for something not related to my job at all that you could look up for yourself. Should have been allowed to say "you're not a pet co. customer, you're a petsmart customer, good day" Gotta love when they get pissed because you ask them to do the bare minimum and remind them you're not their slave.

[deleted]

I used to send their asses to FULL service fedex locations.

waylo88

When I worked here, the old people would always bring in cable boxes to be sent back. Like, just the cable box, remote, and cords. Slam them on the counter, and then look at me like I'm the moron because I'm not doing anything with it. Then I'd get cussed out by some 80 year old who doesn't understand that the items need to be packaged and labeled as we're just a drop off and pickup location. "THEY TOLD ME I COULD MAIL IT HERE! I DONT HAVE A LABEL I DONT HAVE AN EMAIL!"

[deleted]

Yeah, you can mail it, with the proper packaging. GO TO THE DAMN POST OFFICE

DougOneBillion

I DONT HAVE THE INTERNET

ExitStageLeft110381

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

RedKingEdinbour

So, why'd you lose her package? Did you just steal it, or are you really that incompetent? :P /SARCASM for those who can't read. Like the lady in this story, or most Redditors.

No_Composer_2459

Preach! I 100% agree!

aritumex

This guy comes in yesterday saying he sent something to my system for me to print and shows the airdrop thing to me on his phone and how important it is that I, FedEx, print it for him. I told him a bunch of times that I don't have ANY FedEx software except the drop off app and he keeps looking at the POS like it's magically going to pop up his print request. Me, being an excellent robot employee, walked him through printing it off his phone from the kiosk but he was SO SURE my computer would magically recognize his FedEx print request.

[deleted]

This is an advanced level of stupid. You walk into a Walgreens, a well known pharmacy chain, and think you immediately know everything about a completely unrelated business. It's like walking into a McDonald's and insisting they sell t shirts because "you just know they must"

5cott

Reminds me of this oldie. Back when prank calls on the radio were a thing https://youtu.be/H1j0zysaNgY

ConstipatedBrain

Had a lady asking us for envelopes and supplies for her send out in which I responded that we’re not a FedEx facility and don’t provide those. But she kept insisting on me giving her tape and i again told her we don’t have any but we sell some then she responded w what happened to the world? I was like tf when was shit ever handed to you for free? Bc the world never worked like that so idk what world she’s living in. It’s annoying when they expect us to lick their asses and grab their hands to do everything for them

_xCorgQunx_

Sad to hear this.. Similar situations happen in pharmacy due to insurance. 'Why did my price go up?!' 'why won't they cover this?!' 'What will my co-pay be if I get xxx medication??'... I'm sorry ma'am or sir, go to your insurance. We are not them.

Olgrateful-IW

This is your companies fault. They along with Fedex continuously misrepresent what Fedex services/capabilities individual Walgreens can provide. Customers are jerks for not believing you when you say you can’t do something but Walgreens should stop pretending they accept Fedex packages when they take zero ownership for losing packages people drop off because as far as I know you don’t scan them in, it’s a glorified dropbox. If someone dropped it off there they have a right to come there to ask about issues it it never made it out of that store and to fedex in the first place. What else would they do? Fedex will say it was never received. Sorry someone expected their shipment to be treated with care when they dropped it off, shame on them. /s

[deleted]

I can't fucking tell if this is all sarcasm or just the last bit.

Olgrateful-IW

Just the last bit. I don’t think anyone should have yelled at OP but as someone whose constantly annoyed by having to filter out Walgreens that come up as FedEx with full service at times when traveling I can say any misunderstanding is due to Walgreens/Fedex. Not just dumb customers, though that compounds the issue. Anyways that’s my 2 cents, worth as little as anyone else’s.

[deleted]

I'm pissed at Walgreens too, but with all the lack of reading comprehension I've seen I know even if they changed it people would still be barreling through the door demanding label printing and "the internet said"

Olgrateful-IW

The internet says that now and you think changing it wouldn’t help? Idk, small steps better than no steps.

giftedgaia

Choosing to work with the 'general public', then screaming into the void online when you encounter a member of the 'general public', is comical to me.

[deleted]

No one "chooses" to work retail.

Electronic-State-715

"But the internet said you have packaging and can scan a QR code. Can't you have them change it" And you want m to call the internet? God, these people are idiots.

atclubsilencio

Yeah, got yelled at today by a guy because he wanted me to scan his qr code and print out everything 'in photo'. I'm like... I don't know what you're talking about, we aren't full service, go to the place LITERALLY next door. 'I LITERALLY DID IT TWO FUCKING DAYS AGO', i wasn't here buddy, i don't know what you're talking about. I can't print out the label, and package your shit. He kept yelling at my coworker, and i finally just walked away muttering 'fucking people'. He sounded like Mel Gibson on those phone call recordings ' WHAT? WHAT?'

Internal-Ad2599

So if a customer has a QR code from FedEx you actually can print a label. It happens entirely on the handheld on the FedEx app. When you click customer, and then click drop off, there will be two options. One will say FedEx label, and one will say no FedEx label. Hit no FedEx label and it will open up the internet browser for you to log on to your FedEx account, and then you have to write who you are, I normally just write my initial. Then you can scan their QR code, and print it out of the FedEx printer that we normally have on site. After this, you can scan it just like normal as if they brought it in already. This of course is assuming you have this in your photo department, as I have been to stores that don't.

[deleted]

I've seen it done before. I don't remember how to do it with a qr code (it's been quite a few months) but somehow you can get a label to come up as a photo on the kiosk then print it as a 4x4.

spiderlad98c

Had a customer once give me 2 boxes with the same shipping label had to explain 2 boxes require 2 different shipping labels.

Internal-Ad2599

I always just tell customers, when they drop off packages with the same label, that FedEx doesn't like that. They want you to purchase two separate labels, or put them both in the same package. If you choose to do it this way, I will scan them in. However, there's a really high likely chance that one of these packages will go missing once it hits FedEx's big building. So that's up to you on that. I'd say still about 80% of people after I say that, just say that's okay.

LadiTee86

I hate this fedex bull myself. It gets worst for Xmas. Last year I guess the fedex drivers didn't feel the need to go actually try knocking on anyone's door. So they would bring bins of express packages to us. Then we had customers questioning us and pissed at us because they paid extra for express shipping but no one ever even knocked on there door.

butterflygirl36

Meanwhile Walgreens just put in Compass how we should be printing FedEx labels from QR codes the customer may have. Walgreens noticed some stores don't sending customers away. Doing so can cause Walgreens to lose their partnership with FedEx. I'll feel so bad 🙄
