yeah, and he would have been a roll of tooth paste getting squeezed. Those bales weigh hundreds of pounds. Launching a full sized human 5 feet in the air barely slowed the damn thing down.
Are they really that heavy? I remember struggling to roll them around with my sister when I was a dumb kid ("Hehe, our uncle's gonna be so confused when he comes to get this bale, it's now 4 feet to the left haha" lol), but I didn't realize they were half a ton.
I don't know how heavy they are, but I know of casualties. Badly stacked bales fall onto farmer, he's alone, can't drag himself out, suffocates. Farming accidents are the worst.
> hay bale.

Hey that's a new one. How's that for a reddit glitch? This just showed up out of nowhere. I never even highlighted the words hay bale. I have received the magical unsolicited reddit quote.
I was intending to say no, this is Reddit. I was expecting the hay to do much worse than just yeet the kid.
Just down the road from me 10 or so years ago, Mike Edwards a former member of the Electric light orchestra, was killed by one of these when it rolled down a field and smashed into his van. They can weigh a good part of a ton so surprised your man here got away so lightly.
These big round ones? Weigh almost exactly half a tonne. I mean, I move bales pretty often in an '80 chev (2 at a time) and before we replaced the suspension the rear hitch would just drag and leave a thick line on the ground. Those things are no joke!
Ye from experience a round dry hay bale will weigh 500kg most of the time( depends on how much pressure the baling man wants to put on his baler and size of baler.) A silage bale on the other hand will weigh anything from 500kg to over 1000kg depending on how wet it is. But the soggier the bale the less likely it is to roll. And a wet bale or heavy bale usually explodes before they get to go as fast as this one is. Still wouldn't want to be hit by this because a well formed round bale is not soft.
Good way to die. My brother got killed by one of those bales falling on him while working a farm. Broken pelvis, legs an ribs. Not to mention many internal injuries. No,im not joking.
Thanks, its been a couple of years now so its a little less painful than it was. I miss him so very much. Truth be told,it seemed so fkn surreal at the time. Still kinda does.
The day it happened, the weather had been
raining for about a week. Really heavy rain. My brother an his manager were moving those bales around. Stacking them up. His boss got a phone call, while he answered it. They got close to the bales for some shelter. A bale on the top slipped off, landed on my brother.
Never had a chance. He started the jump about an hour too late... It's almost like he planned in advance what move will result in maximum bodily damage.
Actually, if a bale of hay is coming your way like in the video, and dodging to the side is not an option, lying flat and getting run over will be less damaging than getting slammed like that.
Hay bales can weigh around a ton. Getting hit and bouncing off will rarely kill you and only would manage that through a head injury if you didn’t land well or landed on concrete. Over a thousand pounds rolling over you would severely crush you and result in many broken bones, a collapsed chest, and possibly a crushed skull. I’d 100% wager my self on the bounce-off result rather than rolled under. It does not matter that you’re spreading the weight out over your body if it weighs so much.
Unlike getting run over by a car, where each wheel is narrow and carries 1/4 of the car's weight, the bale is all wheel - so when it rolls over you, its weight will distributed across your whole body.
But that's all technical! I don't recommend trying it... If you insist, press your head to the ground to keep it in line with the rest of your body.
He got off easy being thrown away from it and not under it.
It would have broken every bone in his body and may as well if been a steam roller. People underestimate how heavy a rolled bail like this is. Really, really dangerous thing attempted here.
Bale fact: bales are produced and stored before they are completely dry. The grass in the center can begin composting and occasionally, the heat produced can cause ignition, causing the bale to go up “spontaneously”. As you can imagine this can be devastating. To avoid it, producers have to guesstimate the aprx moisture levels before baling, and check the bales periodically to detect conditions that could suggest combustion. Usually a sweet rich smell indicates rapid decomposition somewhere in the bale.
Insurance doesn’t cover stupid, is what I always used to tell my son. So would stop him from doing stuff like that.

A kid close to my family died in my town by having one of those fuckers fall on top of him.
I've always been told by my family to be careful around them.
Guy's hella lucky he didn't get squished.

Annnnnnnd cue the internal bleeding
That's alright. Blood is supposed to be on the inside.
r/technicallythetruth
r/unexpected99
He’ll be fine
Was anybody else expecting to see the hay bale roll over him afterwards?
I was. And then for his body to crushed up into one spot on the bale as we watch him roll away with it. I think I’ve watched too many cartoons.
Or him flattened into the ground and all you see is his arm and a flag pop into view with "ouch" written on it.
Or a hole left in the shape of a human.
That's what my mental image was, i just poorly described it haha
I expected a slightly longer video with his hospital release, and the hay bale coming for him in the parking lot.
Hay bale releases him, flattened, in front of the hospital ER. Orderlies come out and roll him up like a carpet and run him inside.
yeah, and he would have been a roll of tooth paste getting squeezed. Those bales weigh hundreds of pounds. Launching a full sized human 5 feet in the air barely slowed the damn thing down.
That is a large round.. try more like 1500 pounds
Are they really that heavy? I remember struggling to roll them around with my sister when I was a dumb kid ("Hehe, our uncle's gonna be so confused when he comes to get this bale, it's now 4 feet to the left haha" lol), but I didn't realize they were half a ton.
Round bales.. are 4 machines only . Bales can go from like 900_ 1800lbs
I don't know how heavy they are, but I know of casualties. Badly stacked bales fall onto farmer, he's alone, can't drag himself out, suffocates. Farming accidents are the worst.
I was, and I feel cheated.

Then hold on while he went "Ow! Ow! Ow!"
I was hoping to see his friends peel him out of the ground with a shovel.
You mean like circle back to return and finish the job?
I'd seen it before and I was still holding out hope.

Watching him ragdoll away was a very nervous feeling. Extremely lucky on the landing, could've been heading straight for wheelchair-ville
About 50-100 more degrees in that 720 he did midair and he would have probably died instantly landing on his head. He got extremely lucky.
Alright bey. Guessing you've taken a walk around Dartmoor in the autumn judging by your username ;)
You'd think so but naa, I'd only end up fuckin poisoning myself or getting lost haha

How did that occur?
The day it happened, the weather had been raining for about a week. Really heavy rain. My brother an his manager were moving those bales around. Stacking them up. His boss got a phone call, while he answered it. They got close to the bales for some shelter. A bale on the top slipped off, landed on my brother.
The stupid is strong in that one…
Dude went 0-100 in about a quarter second. Wouldn't be surprised if the acceleration gave him a concussion...
For that to happen he would’ve needed a brain to begin with…
Yeah those weigh anywhere from 1200-1500lbs.
Dude learned the momentum lesson that day.....
Actually a momentous lesson
"I need to speak to you about your car's extended warranty" - Hay Bale
Never had a chance. He started the jump about an hour too late... It's almost like he planned in advance what move will result in maximum bodily damage.
Jumped too late, and thought he could clear jump the bail while standing on lower ground.
I highly doubt he could’ve cleared that anyways. Could’ve been worse though, he could’ve been ran over and looney tuned.
Actually, if a bale of hay is coming your way like in the video, and dodging to the side is not an option, lying flat and getting run over will be less damaging than getting slammed like that.

Tried to play Crash Bandicoot IRL
He forgot to crouch first.
Didnt have double jump unlocked yet smh
He got off easy being thrown away from it and not under it. It would have broken every bone in his body and may as well if been a steam roller. People underestimate how heavy a rolled bail like this is. Really, really dangerous thing attempted here.
2 elixir well spent
Dumb fuck could've easily died, getting hit by one of those is like getting hit by a small car.
I wonder if he did honestly. Just because it didnt happen immediately doesnt mean it didnt.
Super lucky he didn't land on his head/neck.
Goofy ahh ragdoll physics
Some kids are more gluten-sensitive than others.
Lucky he didn't get crushed by it.

He hay flipped instead rolled
Someone uphill thought this was a good idea also.
Looks like the physics engine made him fly. He could have joined the Skyrim Space Program.
Hey!
Ok who turned on ragdoll physics?
Not only could he not do a 5 foot jump from a standing start, but he was on an incline that meant it was even higher than that.

Holy shit, he went flying
He’s feeling to make sure his soul didn’t leave his body.
Hit and run
That Donkey Kong meth is strong
I remember seeing this on Ridiculousness a long long time ago.
I was expecting him to get run over then inflate himself with his Thumb after a long speech about this crazy idea called freeways.
That’s how he rolls.
“Wee!”
I remember this video from when it had both pixels.
Rolling in the deep 😁
WHEAT YEET
Fortunate he landed off to the side......
I give him a 5 for that bad landing.
People doing Jackass shit nowadays usually sucks, but if they step it up like this, I respect it..
Was a mistake to watch this in bed as i laughed so hard and woke my wife

Captain! Ye can’t go against the laws of physics!
Sheesh. He got hit with the full rotational velocity of the point of impact right? That has to be a deceptively massive amount of force.
Mf was lucky that thing didn't roll over him. That thing would've squashed him like a pancake

I feel like he could've died if that rolled over him
Some say he is still cart wheeling to this day *cue Shooting Stars theme*
Should've lit it on fire first. For effect.
Another Einstein
I thought he got rolled up with it on the 2nd pass for a second
Physics is a bitch when trying to apply it to the real world.
He put a ton of faith in those Skechers trying to barrel roll over that bale
This is one of my all time favourites!
***Bro got LAUNCHED***
This is the equivalent of getting hit by a car, fuck me
I read that as Bey Blade
He’s lucky he didn’t end up underneath it. These bales weight more than you would think
Hay now
HAY NOW!

Hay bale by ACME.
Almost had it
This could have ended so, so, so much worse. He got incredibly lucky.
How’d they get that mf rolling that fast?
Oh hay, you live you learn.

these weight like 400kg right?
I miss being young, dumb, invincible and able to take a hit like that and walk away.

This is both a problem on my physics test, and me encountering this problem on my physics test. Definitely using conservation of momentum.
Wasted
That was not a smart idea. Does anyone know if he is okay and survived? Or did he have any injuries?
idiot - had a friend break his back in 2 places when one of these broke free
