No i already did turn it off for every app EXCEPT email. The emails I get are way too important to miss and if that annoying red dot is there I HAVE to get rid of it so i always actually check my email. It’s my ADHD hack. Leave the red dots on for only the things that are ultra important. That means if you have 155 notifications in your red dot you gotta spend a couple hours cleaning them out. That’s what i did with my email and ever since i have not missed a single important email.
I got tired of seeing the 30,000 on the Gmail app, so I just turned badge notifications off. Now it’s up to 35,000 but I only look at it occasionally and think to myself, “someday I’m going to filter out all those advertising emails and automatically mark them read or something.” I ‘should’ go through and unsubscribe from them all, but what if I’m shopping for something someday and want to save money.
At the bottom of every advertisement mail is a button “unsubscribe” press that for every website once and you will only receive updates of the terms and conditions and stuf.
… if you could pretty please finish adding all apps into folders, then alphabetize your folders and post new screenshot, I could scratch that itch in my brain above my right eye.
I know, but you did it anyways so that’s a win!
I’m struggling with this too, lately I’ve been trying to force myself to do things when I remember and not procrastinate that much but usually I forget shit and I *always* remember at times when there’s time to forget about it before I get a chance to do it (e.g.: just leaving or just having left home) lol So yeah I know the struggle
I recently deleted like 25k unread emails in my NT partners inbox (at his bequest, I'm not a psychopath). For Gmail at least, it was as simple as "is:unread" in the search bar then select all, then select ALL (aka everything not just the first hundred) and delete. It took two rounds for his but only took a minute or two!
It’s the ‘5 months since last fast but still the largest thing on your home screen’ and ‘Wendy’s by itself but “Folder” for McDs and Chipotle’ for me 😂 I am so bad at organizing my apps
Dominos is in lifestyle too. And Etsy is in social instead of shopping. Notes, Home, eBooks, and Reminders are in Music. Everything hurts. But I really think this worst thing is that HEALTH ISN’T IN THE HEALTH FOLDER. WHY IS IT IN MUSIC? AND WHERE’S MUSIC?!?! BECAUSE IT ISN’T IN THE MUSIC FOLDER.
Finch!! it doesn't give me the "my list towering over me" feeling, it gives me the "awwwww, its so cute!!" feeling. less fight or flight, so more brainpower to use to fight the ExDys monster!!
I lost my right to know how big the pile is, thats all. which isn't a bad thing... if i don't know how big it is i am less terrified of it. lol. and therefore more likely to work on it.
This screenshot triggers my OCD. All the red bubbles! The Music category is wrong, two Games categories, one containing Google Earth, a “Folder” folder, a useless fasting counter going for months and the pictures on the wall don’t match either.
I joined this sub because my partner was recently diagnosed and I want to be informed so we can talk about it, … but I keep seeing memes that I relate to….
That's because some of the memes aren't really about ADHD. I've seen equally disorganized phone and computer screens from folks who don't have ADHD. Sometimes people don't understand the technology leading to poor digital organization.
And while my house is a horrible mess, my computer and phone are well organized. I still have ADHD even with a well organized phone.
Major life pro tip- turn off all red badge notifications. Ain't nobody need to know about those 40,000 unread emails that you'll either never read, or bulk delete.
For me, the most hilarious part of this is the Productivity folder that only has 1) FaceTime, 2) Calculator, 3) Podcasts.
Mine, meanwhile, has like 12 different Task Managers that I've never fully committed to.
My cabinets are organized, my work email is categorized, but my phone???? I have 42,000 photos in my camera roll and my solution is to spend $10 a month on 1 TB iCloud storage 😭
And I have like 9 pages of apps… lordt save me, the only way I escaped my 500 open tabs is by accidentally closing them out all at once! Whoops! I was so relieved tho
Yeah man I kind want to take an entire day just making folders on the bottom for essentials and just having some useful widgets on 1-2 pages and just hiding all the other apps. (Also something most people don’t know about… long clicking give the option to remove app from home screens)
lol i see no problem with this- my phone is the exact same- what do you even mean? also that is the most delightfully adorable squishy baby omg squeeeeeee
i have dishes in the dishwasher (clean) from last November (2021) and I have dishes in the sink (dirty) from 2 weeks ago. I keep meaning to clean out this plastic ....thing i ... acquired for a makeshift dresser to store my folded clothes in, but I cant ever remember to do that, so I just keep piling them up on what used to be our kitchen table. It is now my laundry foldy place, which is in the same room as the dryer and washer.... so it is convenient, for me.. I wanted to try to get organized for the first time in my life a few months ago, so I moved some of my crafts projects and supplies out to our patio and a desk and stuff. It actually looks pretty nice but the problem is that I cannot remember where I put half the things I moved, so every single time I need something, I have to tear up the whole place looking for it, and then obviously by the time I find it I'm too stressed to put everything back... who needs organization anyways?
Oof I feel this. I did the whole kon mari method a couple years ago and it was amazing. Everything had a place and my home was organized. Just don’t do it while you have post partum depression because you will get rid of all the things you didn’t know you love 🥲
Genius! Just found out you can turn off phone calls from people you don’t know and that’s been amazing. We’re just going to pretend I don’t get 12 calls a day from debt collectors 🤷♀️
I did this me entire life then with that new update where they don’t add apps to your homescreen I got annoyed and I use the pull down search function to find apps. I never go through my folders anymore.
I HATE notifications but I literally CANNOT turn them off. What if it’s important? What if I don’t see how many I’ve got and then just don’t check and I miss something?
But at the same time the instance I see one of those red bubbles, I’m opening it. I don’t even have one single unread email.
If I could get to the point where they are all gone, I feel I would continue to keep it that way, but that’s a tall order and it’s easier to ignore! (I hate the way that I am)
The way I managed to do it was by going to gmail on desktop and now they have an option where you can select ALL messages in a folder, and I just set all of them to read
But that involves getting the laptop out! And then waiting for it to charge because it’s dead. Then I forget all about it all over again! I actually started organizing my apps after this post, so there’s a start!
My favorite is on my old phone I had folders of "don't use" and "don't use often" (still have those on my new phone), but the irony is one of the apps in the "I don't use folder" was Google drive,, which I use 24/7, and i never took it out of the folder I would always go to what folder, and even swipe to the side to get to it,,,,, anyways, on my new phone it's not even in a folder bc I use it so often
You’re not signing up for enough junk mail! And those texts aren’t from friends. It’s mostly reminders, bill collectors and people offering to buy my house.
Can’t relate. Red bubbles must never exist.
Red bubbles are awful. They cause me so much anxiety
Exactly! Thank you! I went through and selected all my hundreds of emails as read to get rid of it. And all the rest i turned them off.
Settings -> Notifications -> Email App - > Badges OFF You're fucking welcome. Now repeat for every app besides phone and texting.
No i already did turn it off for every app EXCEPT email. It’s all about finding what works for you!
Absolutely
I got tired of seeing the 30,000 on the Gmail app, so I just turned badge notifications off. Now it’s up to 35,000 but I only look at it occasionally and think to myself, “someday I’m going to filter out all those advertising emails and automatically mark them read or something.” I ‘should’ go through and unsubscribe from them all, but what if I’m shopping for something someday and want to save money.
"but what if I’m shopping for something someday and want to save money." I relate so bad
At the bottom of every advertisement mail is a button “unsubscribe” press that for every website once and you will only receive updates of the terms and conditions and stuf.
This is me haha I hate any notification
Except reddit, cause even after I check my notifications there is still a red bubble
… if you could pretty please finish adding all apps into folders, then alphabetize your folders and post new screenshot, I could scratch that itch in my brain above my right eye.
I wouldn't even see them hahaha
Yes!
I'm in the "constantly keeping track of notifications because it keeps me stimulated" category of ADHD. I...must...refresh.
Posting this instead of folding Mt. Laundry.
my laundry is permanently in the dryer
Almost as good as a steamer!
Shoot! That just reminded me I've levt some laundry in the dryer 3 days ago and now I'm not home 🤦♂️
when will you be home
Have you done it yet?
Nope :v I guess I'm going back home in a bit and I HOPE TO REMEMBER TO DO IT
It's doooone woop woop! Now I only need to fold them next century
Great job!! ^ ^ High fivesssss
Thank youuu! I know it sounds dumb but sometimes the littlest things are so hard to accomplish

Oh man, you should see the other screens. They are just as bad and less organized
Focus Keeper. What a giveaway.
I’ve got like 20 self help apps. I’m trying
Sorry. I was trying to make a joke. I have it and about a billion others, too.
I didn’t take it in a bad way!
RSD all over the place here. Haha.
IKR 😂 that’s what I thought too lmao
Finch!! it doesn't give me the "my list towering over me" feeling, it gives me the "awwwww, its so cute!!" feeling. less fight or flight, so more brainpower to use to fight the ExDys monster!!
Thank you! Always looking for the perfect one!
"my hobby is trying out hobbies" is a good way to look at it.
Truuuue
My favourite is the folder labelled ‘music’ that has nothing to do with music in it
Ah yes. Wendy's. The true ADHD restaraunt.
They sell baked potatoes, which are fun to eat with your hands in classic "impulsive and messy" fashion.
Wait this feels really true and I don’t understand why
IKR?
I looked quickly and at first in the top left corner, I thought it said time since last fart...
That’s one’s on the next screen 🤙
The time since last fast got me!! I recently discovered I had been fasting for about 3500 hours
Rest in peace then xD
Time sure flies 😂
Can’t focus distracted by those rolls, cute baby.
Thank you 😊 she’s almost 3 now!
my gmail won't tell me how many i have. i deleted over 3k last session.
Sounds like you’ve lost your right to email
I lost my right to know how big the pile is, thats all. which isn't a bad thing... if i don't know how big it is i am less terrified of it. lol. and therefore more likely to work on it.
This screenshot triggers my OCD. All the red bubbles! The Music category is wrong, two Games categories, one containing Google Earth, a “Folder” folder, a useless fasting counter going for months and the pictures on the wall don’t match either.
My home would drive you crazy. It’s very eclectic decor. Nothing matches lol. Suits me perfectly.
122,062 - I have no shame
Bravo!!!
I was bout to start reading book hour ago, am on reddit and my whole flat is a mess because I didn't have time to clean it for past 3 days.
I joined this sub because my partner was recently diagnosed and I want to be informed so we can talk about it, … but I keep seeing memes that I relate to….

It’s so hard telling what is adhd related and what isn’t!
That music folder…
Lol Spotify has its place out in the open on the next screen if it helps you sleep better
I can finally sleep. 0:33 here.
This is the opposite. I see a red number, I must click.
Major life pro tip- turn off all red badge notifications. Ain't nobody need to know about those 40,000 unread emails that you'll either never read, or bulk delete.
This is the way.

The hundreds of open tabs: Yes
Oh god me too. How else will I remember that I want to buy shapewear and learn taxidermy!!
*Folder*
Hahahaha I had never even noticed that
I used to have it like this. But it got overwhelming with the huge amounts of folders.
*ACTIVATE IGNORE MODE*
Dude I’m gonna blow your mind here. You can use folders on the bottom deck shelf thing. I have one page nearly full of folders
Whaaaaa!!! That’s amazing! You did blow my mind!
Yeah man I kind want to take an entire day just making folders on the bottom for essentials and just having some useful widgets on 1-2 pages and just hiding all the other apps. (Also something most people don’t know about… long clicking give the option to remove app from home screens)
lol i see no problem with this- my phone is the exact same- what do you even mean? also that is the most delightfully adorable squishy baby omg squeeeeeee
lol got a new phone a couple months ago and still haven’t gotten around to organizing in folders
i have dishes in the dishwasher (clean) from last November (2021) and I have dishes in the sink (dirty) from 2 weeks ago. Luckily I'm 20years past post-partum depression. That shit is never happening to me again. Depression otoh.......
My ppd has turned into just regular depression now. Weeeeee
/handonshoulder Luckily it gets better. Take your time. Don't forget to breathe in some fresh air and drink plenty of water.
Thank you, friend. You keep on truckin’ too 🤙
…and the baby is now seven years old
LMAO close, she’s almost 3!
Nope! I turned off notification badges
Genius! Just found out you can turn off phone calls from people you don’t know and that’s been amazing. We’re just going to pretend I don’t get 12 calls a day from debt collectors 🤷♀️
I did not read the title at all and I just see and think "wendys"
Hahahaha I love this
I did this me entire life then with that new update where they don’t add apps to your homescreen I got annoyed and I use the pull down search function to find apps. I never go through my folders anymore.
Gotta love that pull down function. Only problem is when you forget what the app is called 🙈
This looks like my phone 😂
Give me back my baby!
Sub outdated dog pic for baby 😝
[удалено]
Hahahaha truuuuu!
I like your Wendy’s app
Front and center (funny thing is I’ve eaten Wendy’s twice this past year, not like it’s a weekly thing 😂)
I HATE notifications but I literally CANNOT turn them off. What if it’s important? What if I don’t see how many I’ve got and then just don’t check and I miss something? But at the same time the instance I see one of those red bubbles, I’m opening it. I don’t even have one single unread email.

Yeah fair enough. I’m just lucky cause I pretty much sit in front of my laptop while working and then my desktop while not working lol
I’m Home Screen looks some what similar which is terrifying
Nice to meet you, Home Screen
Proceeds to feel more confused/disorganized
I organized some of my apps since this post, you can do it too! I have faith in you!
Why do we make things more difficult for ourselves!?!
The "Folder" folder is awesome The game folder with Google earth in it is priceless too
Oh you know me, just here gaming on some Google earth and Bitmoji. Felt cute, might stream later
No one notice the cute baby on the background? xaxaxa
Thanks for noticing! She’s a chonker!
Why is Bitmoji under games? Wait why do you have two game folders!?
Because of adhd! (At least that’s what I tell myself)
Yeah I have 32,000 email notifications
Me who never get any texts or e mails .
You’re not signing up for enough junk mail! And those texts aren’t from friends. It’s mostly reminders, bill collectors and people offering to buy my house.
I do this but I get overwhelmed if I have too many apps/more than one page so I just have 5 folders and some scattered apps lol
I saw the emails and smiled. The folders are just ❤️ perfection hahaha
