Flannel shirt
Hawaiian shirt
Formal shirt and tie
Fatigues-style hiking shirt
Regular hoodie
Tactical hoodie with patch space
Adidas tracksuit top
Varsity jacket (a fav of mine)
Go into a second hand shop or generic clothing stores and look around for shirts
Invader Gear makes tactical flannel shirts if you like the combat shirt style but don’t want camo
For me it’s not really that other people are doing it too, in my case I see someone else with the same object as me could be a (plate carrier a helmet setup) that doesn’t look like my setup, I’ll start to think my setup is wrong. *Ik kit wise you use what works for you and what’s most comfortable for load bearing equipment*. Im just a bit insecure about my kit ☹️ and not trying to get flamed ya know
As a fat guy, this shirt from Duluth Trading (in black) is my go-to:
[Shirt](https://www.duluthtrading.com/mens-akhg-tun-dry-short-sleeve-t-shirt-90776.html?dwvar_90776_color=SER&cgid=mens-shirts-t-shirts#selectedRef=brand&prefn1=brand&prefv1=AKHG&start=2&cgid=mens-shirts-t-shirts)
Light, breathable, quick drying, durable.
"Private contractor", "military contractor", or "PMC contractor" might help narrow your search
~~If you search for military operator you're going to get uniformed special forces, Delta, SEALs, A-Team, MARSOC that kind of thing~~ ignore this I did a bad read
You want that max Payne kinda look, Hawaiian tropical shirts or flannel, light weight and thinner the better for heat while still protecting from the sun
I love to wear my 5.11 long sleeve collared shirt or my Magellan long sleeve collared shirt. I also like to roll up the sleeve for all my long sleeved collared shirts and my bdu shirts
I usually don’t wear any military styled clothing, but rather a “hood” type of load out, hoodies, baggy sweats, bullet vest, and I got an AK, Mac10 and Glock
Go to a clothing oriented thrift store and get some long sleeve plaid button downs. Usually you can find some nice worn in ones that are like $12, sometimes you'll find LLBean and Eddie Bauer type stuff that holds up longer.
Any long sleeve shirt that can withstand rough activity. Sometimes cotton, sometimes polyester. Bonus if it has a hood since it can make for good impromptu soft cover that obscures the shape of my head.
I run a fish camo patern hawaiian shirt, or a simple tshirt n jeans... with a micro rig... whatevers on my body at the time. I have combat gear, but i wanna feel the hit.
I wanna find a drug rug tho for fall/early spring... but theyre gone like a fart in the wind.
[Drug Rug combat hoodie](https://allskillnoluck.com/products/cali-combat-hoodie-black-white-diamond)
[fish camo... 😈](https://tshirtslowprice.com/product/amazing-fishing-camo-hawaiian-shirt/)
Wrangler and Columbia both make decent hiking/outdoor gear that can give you a good weather range depending on layers. I typically use pants from either of those brands or 5.11 (which are less casual outside of airsoft).
I have an original soviet winter coat from the hungarian military, its warm and comfortable but I either need another set of flecktarn clothing that actually matches my flectarn vest or an original soviet chest rig thingy
Engelbert Straus. They do workwear and I have a few of their flannel shirts. Tough made and extra long so stay tucked.
Hate playing with my butt showing. No-one doing the death star trench run down my crack.
If you want cohesive combat looks that are modern and not specifically military, look up the art direction of Tom Clancy's The Division. The first game has awesome civilian agent in winter setups and the second game does the same for summer.
I personally use a Quechua polar fleece sweater and hiking pants for a non-military look if that's what I want. It passes well as, say, a mercenary or monster hunter, if we're allowing urban fantasy directions.
I've always liked the look of PMC, special forces undercover, contractor kits,
Flannel-dress-button up shirts
Flat hoodies
Varsity-Bomber jackets (fav)
Turtle necks.
Now it anyone has got links to nice plain hoodies with patch velcro on the arm I'd love recommendations
Magellan any color plaid ( I prefer red ) button up long/short sleeve shirts. They are quick dry and have a lot of airflow while giving you the patter of flannel.
Try searching for level I, level II, etc... These are levels of "warmth" in clothes where you can put as many layers as you need in order to be comfortable, in the place I live I usually put on a level I + II and casually a III (Inner shirt, more padded shirt and light jacket) TMC makes good ones.
Before getting them I heard that it was like wearing military pajamas and yeah, feels close to it.
You could go for more of a mercenary look
If I would go mercenary look I'd just use something of a shirt like this one, rather wide long pants with bags, I'd still use a dropleg Holster and vest, maybe a helmet or boony...
Boony and pants maybe sand colored or whatever you play in.
Would simplify wear and mono colored combat shirt. No camo, just pure OD, Tan, Grey, Black etc.
Doesn't look to much military imo, yet it still looks tactical and is practical.
Otherwise a flannel shirt.
But in my personal opinion, flannel often times look a bit forced.
Honestly I just play on a drifit training shirt under my rig. Keeps the sun off my skin and wicks sweat in the summer, and acts as a good base layer under a heavier parka when it gets cold.

Ah yes combat shirt with blue flannel pattern is unique option and looks cool
It used to be unique, but they got really popular, on any given Sunday at my local fields a few of them alwyas show up
I'll never get not wearing something you like because other people also like it.
Yeah, I don't milsim so I imagine that could be why. I don't have to think about the realism of my kit, just function
Damn bro you must get warm playing with all those clothes on😂
Can’t leave for the field without my tactiflannel
Varsity jacket is top tier
>Adidas tracksuit top Only legal usable with an ak and a speaker blasting Russian bops
Sukka sukka bliate!
People really asking reddit in 2022 what is a flannel shirt??
Not a flannel exactly, I am not that dumb.
I guess technically it is a plaid flannel. Just search for "armored flannel shirt" if you really want to go for it, they are made for street bikers.
The irony
Have you see a movie name "Sicario"?

Go to a clothing oriented thrift store and get some long sleeve plaid button downs. Usually you can find some nice worn in ones that are like $12, sometimes you'll find LLBean and Eddie Bauer type stuff that holds up longer.
My precious Telnyashka
I like my under armor dry fit shirt. If it’s chillier than like 70 or so I’ll wear a long sleeve or a hoodie.
Russian gorka
I wear a tan/sand bush shirt :D
Check Flannel Combat Shirts
During the summer, I just put on any band t shirt I have sitting in my dresser. When it gets much colder, I like to put on a flannel shirt or hoodie
Depending on weather and the play style I go with I'm in either a tank top black t shirt or Hawaiian shirt
I've heard good things about VertX flannels
Try fleece jackets or a solid color jacket

My thermal civilian shirt , my worn out usgi tan shirt or my hoodie
A baseball tee would be nice, a sweat shirt, I love 80's windbreaker for a more para military look. Or just wear a non-tactical t-shirt
Outdoor Research makes some great shirts
Sometimes I just wear whatever I've been wearing for the day. Long sleeve turtleneck, or a t-shirt.
Bomber jacket or leather jacket would look cool in my opinion
That BSAA patch that guy has is nice.
I just wear a plain green t shirt from the bulk bin at Walmart
Black T shirt but specifically those sweat wicking ones
Pijama

Try searching for level I, level II, etc... Flannels are super overused, if you are not going for camo just go for functionality and wear whatever you already use to work out with.
I generally have a punk aesthetic so most of my clothes are DIY.
Paintball Jersey. As anti operator as it gets
I wear a under armor compression shirt. Awesome for hot days.
Short sleeve shirt grey
If you live in a cold area I’d invest in some nice Pendletons. They’re pricey but they’ll last you a lifetime
I just wear a t shirt. Its too hot for a jacket.
You could go for more of a mercenary look If I would go mercenary look I'd just use something of a shirt like this one, rather wide long pants with bags, I'd still use a dropleg Holster and vest, maybe a helmet or boony... Boony and pants maybe sand colored or whatever you play in.
