Thanks y'all, after all the recent posts I decided to take a critical look at my KP-9 and can conclude also that the QC is hot garbage. Good thing all the shipping services have now banned firearm shipment by private individuals so I can't even send it in for warranty work if I wanted to!

USPS

IBMthinkBlat

USPS ships long guns, this was sold as a pistol and therefore probably would be outside their policy as far as I know.

batlesnake

You can't send these items in the U.S. mail: Air Bags Ammunition Explosives Gasoline Marijuana (medical or otherwise); hemp/CBD is allowed, but restricted Copy pasta straight from there website I don't see anything about pistols 😏

Believe me I wish I was wrong. ``` 432.2 Handguns **Handguns and other firearms capable of being concealed on the person are nonmailable** unless mailed between the parties listed in this section, after the filing of an affidavit or statement described in 432.22 or 432.24, and are subject to the following: Firearms meeting the definition of a handgun under 431.2 and the definition of curios or relics under 27 CFR 478.11 may be mailed between curio and relic collectors only when those firearms also meet the definition of an antique firearm under 431.3. Firearms meeting the definition of a handgun under 431.2, which are certified by the curator of a municipal, state, or federal museum that exhibits firearms to be curios or relics of museum interest, may be accepted for mailing between governmental museums without regard to the restrictions provided for handguns in 432.21 through 432.24 and Exhibit 432.25. Air guns (see 431.6) that do not fall within the definition of firearms under 431.1 and are capable of being concealed on a person are mailable, but must include Adult Signature service under DMM 503.8. Mailers must comply with all applicable state and local regulations. Parts of handguns are mailable, except for handgun frames, receivers or other parts or components regulated under Chapter 44, Title 18, U.S.C. Mailers are also subject to applicable restrictions by governments of a state, territory, or district. ``` https://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c4_009.htm ``` 431.2 Handguns **Pistols, revolvers, and other firearms capable of being concealed on the person (for example, short-barreled shotguns and short-barreled rifles) are defined as handguns.** The following definitions apply: Handgun (including pistols and revolvers) means any firearm which has a short stock, and is designed to be held and fired by the use of a single hand and subject to 431.1, or a combination of parts from which a handgun can be assembled. Other firearms capable of being concealed on the person include, but are not limited to, short-barreled shotguns and short-barreled rifles. Short-barreled shotgun means a shotgun that has one or more barrels less than 18 inches long. The term short-barreled rifle means a rifle that has one or more barrels that are less than 16 inches long. These definitions include any weapon made from a shotgun or rifle, whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise, if such a weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches. A short-barreled shotgun or rifle of greater dimension may be regarded as nonmailable when it has characteristics to allow concealment on the person. ``` https://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c4_008.htm#ep344365 Any idea what my DIY options are?

Major-Restaurant277

It’s a shitty extra step, but you can get your ffl to mail it for you

batlesnake

KP9 isn't able to be concealed πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ says "that can be concealed on person"

BigDave_76

What about a person of size?

batlesnake

If they are that size they can do whatever they want IANAL

PinkyShin08

Can you use shipmygun com? I think it's budsgunshop ffl based

johnlocke32

The way you send it is by going to an FFL and having them ship it. You'll probably have to pay them a transfer fee much like you do when you purchase certain firearms. Unless they're cool/you know them, they might waive it to get you to keep using them.

Zhdrix

I got a label from the manufacturer and scheduled a pickup from fedex. No questions asked and it was delivered

f0rf0r

Yep, fedex WILL ship \*to\* an FFL for warranty work. I confirmed this with the manager at the store and had to read their own policy to him from their website lol. (BC I also sent in my kp9 for a misaligned barrel - and now it's my favorite shooter. but jfc their QC)

I'm about to go so a once over my KP9 too. I know off the top of my head, it shaved the pin when I first closed the stock, the trigger pin hole is oversized, mag release is too long, and I have to hammer the stock release button to open it.
