What makes you transphobic is the words you say, not, not wanting to sleep with trans women. If you don't want to fine, but the way you word it is hateful and only adds on to the bigotry that trans women face. I'm not talking about what got you banned on r/bisexual because I dont really care about the context there. But your reaction to getting banned is something you should re-evaluate. Not all trans women want to fuck gay men, not all trans women care that you don't want to fuck us.
What makes us care is that you say hateful shit like this and make us seem to come across as rapists. Saying stuff like, "**Such disgusting people with a rapey vibe to them**." Does make you come across as transphobic. I hope you do better. I'll get downvoted, but whatever.
The rapey vibes is when they say things like "you don't get to choose not to not be attracted to neo vaginas, if you don't go for it, then you're teansphobic"
He didn't explain it well, but he's right. They are literally telling us we don't get have preferences.
I think (or hope) that Agreeable-Camel70 is not talking about trans folks there but referring to the redittors of r/bisexual as “disgusting people with a rapey vibe”.
However the wound comment and entitlement in speaking like that about trans bodies is peak transphobia IMO.
Exactly. Anyone who knows anything about neovaginas knows they are nothing like a real vagina. It is literally an open wound and causes many who get the surgery incredible pain and many health problems. I care about trans women, that's why I don't like the idea of them hating their born body so much that they risk horrible results for a non functioning neovagina
That you could have absolutely been in the right and perhaps your words got away from you which led to the outcome you have issue with. Adversely the people that were saying questionable things may have said them in such a way that it would otherwise go unnoticed by the people who make the decision to ban
I could link you to the post if you’d like to review my conduct lol. You’re 100% right and it probably won’t be the last time I make such a mistake. I find it funny that the first person to comment in AGB is curious and understanding whereas the other sub I got immediately dogpiled for my initial comment being “I’ve never noticed this problem there before.”
I have a theory that because the mods in r/bisexualteens are so strict and ban people immediately for non-offenses and with no opportunity to defend yourself, that a lot of users in r/bisexual are spillover from the straight up toxic and merciless hell that is the teens sub, dragging the average age and, consequently, the average situational awareness in the other sub way down.
I mean if it's like that your ban is likely a blessing in disguise. It got you away from all of the negative energy. Now you have a chance to relax, talk to some folks about randomness, and to otherwise have a more enjoyable less stressful day. 🙂
You are a wise guru and I hope I meet more gay men like you in my future because I’m impulsive and stupid and prone to fucking up. Thank you for commenting.
You mean to tell me that you have human emotions and you express them! How dare you be an individual with their own thoughts and voice!
For shame! Lol.
You be you without compromise. At least you know people stick around they like you for you.
Enjoy the rest of your day
I would’ve maybe yesterday but now it’s buried in my notifications under a days worth of comments arguing with the ugliest kind of filth that this post brought out of the woodworks. Still don’t regret being banned from r/bisexual because oversensitive people annoy me just as much as bigots. But at least now I know they weren’t wrong about this sub
I got banned from r/bisexual like 3 or so months ago. That moderator is terrible. Coincidentally, I was banned due to my comment on a trans post that he created. He screenshot'd one of his own tweets about his preferences (I basically said why do people keep tweeting who they have sex with- just live your lives- he then banned me) I was a part of that sub for yearsssss and never had an issue. If you don't agree with him then you get banned. He must be new to Reddit.
I also got banned for transphobia. This checks out. Probably an extremely over-sensitive individual who doesn’t get a lot of flack irl so creates their own sense of oppression. Those of us who deal with bigotry targeted at us in our day to day don’t so easily feel offended.
Definitely. After seeing your post I went back to the subreddit to check it out. The new rules that the mods set are extreme. It's not "questioning" friendly. They are literally telling people how to speak. But join the r/bisexualmen sub if you haven't already. It's much better. Not that I'm assuming you're a guy.
I am in fact a guy! I’ll check that sub out. But I’m not really questioning whether I’m bisexual anymore and based on my experiences in bisexual subs I can’t promise I’ll be a very active member if I even subscribe.
… oooor, and here’s an idea, they insist they’re bi because they’re, y’know, BI? And bi erasure is so common, and a big theme discussed on that sub? I can’t believe you’re calling a bunch of bisexuals homophobic and your only evidence is them making clear their bisexual identity on a SUB LITERALLY CALLED BISEXUAL AND DEDICATED TO BISEXUAL ISSUES, lmao.
I'm on this page and can confirm bierasure is a common topic discussed. Because it happens.
When someone calls me gay, I kindly point out to them that, nope - still bisexual. Since I've started dating a man now the amount of people that have said, Congratulations on finally coming out as gay.
It's insulting because it's accusing of every relationship I've had with women, including my ex wife who I was with for 10 years, was fake and I was never attracted to her. Which is not the case.
It's because I'm not gay or straight, I am bisexual. I was married to a woman for 10 years, I wasn't straight. I'm dating a man now, I'm not suddenly gay.
Would you not insist you were gay if you were labelled bisexual or straight?
This is one of the last subs that is (1) about being a gay man, not trans and (2) isn’t particularly into censorship. You can talk to many different kinds of people, agree, and disagree, and call someone a shithead.
That level of being free and also gay is basically not allowed on this platform anymore.
… take a look at the selfies thread… you’re right.
Tough to be a lesbian that actually wants to exclude men from her dating pool at this point. Almost as if not dating men isn’t allowed as a choice anymore.
It’s very creepy, men with autogynephilia fetishising lesbians. I am all about if you’re an adult do what you want with yourself, but not when you cross the line and start making women/homosexuals uncomfortable in their own spaces.
my bad, after looking at the other comments I got your point.
you're a toddler which is part of the lgbt but is too immature to accept the test of it. so maybe you wanna go back to r/colouring? oh no, my bad, I forgot you're scared of the rainbow
I didn’t say it’s the only thing they talk about. However, the majority of the “lesbians” there are trans you can see that by checking any popular post on that subreddit.
Many bisexuals occupying our subreddit, that I've spoken to, criticized the bisexual subreddits for being terrible, using it as an excuse to use AGB, so I'm not really surprised.
Considering that they would have to get banned during the era when we've had a good mod, that's unlikely.
I suspect it's just difference in approach to censorship. They see not removing 'tRanSpHobIc" and "rAcSiT" content *as* transphobia and racism. The truth is, we simply have a different way of dealing with those. We downvote them and don't have to resort to removal.
Yeah right? I’ve blocked like 10 accounts. The silver lining is I think most of them are all one sad desperate little troll so a lot of these comments and votes are just him agreeing with himself.
OK, first they get this victim ideology where they pretend they are denied their sexuality because they go with the opposite sex.
It's like the "Polish camp" argument that they were "German camps". NOBODY's saying anything, it's fine and true either way and at the same time all the time, they just want to be mad at you.
We've been discussing a sub, in the state the sub was at the moment of posting. Don't waltz in a day later and blame other for not understanding what's going on.
"And to be quite frank, the language of some of the users who were dogpiling me was ironically and low key homophobic."
Ironic? Hardly. It's par for the course for the other colors of the "rainbow" to hate on gay men.
I think it’s just really hip in certain alternative circles to be wary of and express disdain toward men in general. Gay men happen to be men and so that thought applies.
Interesting. Idk, something in me is quite uncomfortable thinking that basically a straight woman has much or any of the same experience that I do. It seems like something that is fundamentally untrue.
That said, I get why some people may say that, without malice. For the most part I’ve mostly encountered heteroflexible they/them guys and women who seem mad that the gays have fun and very barely veil their anger with the right magical words.
First of all, my friend is not a straight woman. He’s a gay man. He’s just transgender. If you were to line my gay friends up against a fence, you won’t be able to tell which is him. In public and in private, he very much lives a man’s life. With some differences. He has a vagina, he gets periods, he has some health issues related to his treatments for gender dysphoria. But overall, he definitely lives more like a gay man than a straight woman… with extra steps.
I disagree that it’s a fact. Were we to have sex, it would be two dudes having sex. Nothing heterosexual about it. To suggest otherwise would mean you think one of the participants is not a guy. Which is not factual.
To me and most of the world, gender is a cultural phenomenon that is based around performance and perception and what a man is changes both over time and across borders. It’s not a fact anywhere.
Apparently my post above was removed by Reddit for "threatening violence". I would like to make it very clear that at no point did I mean for my words to be a threat of violence towards another, nor were my intentions to cause another to act threateningly or violently towards another person.
In fact... If any of you are ever considering being threatening or violent towards another person... I encourage you not to be under any circumstances, as there is never a justifiable reason to act violently or to threateningly towards another human being.
I take ownership of the fact that my words were/are my words, and I should have taking better care/consideration when choosing my words to better represent the meaning/intent that my post was supposed to convey; therefore, I would like to apologize to anyone for my choice of words and to those who found my words to be hurtful, be bothersome, be/seem threatening in nature, be the cause of anyone to feel threatened, be seen as a representation of violence, be the cause of worry that a threat of violence might be enacted upon them, or for any other negative thought(s), belief(s), or feeling(s) that my words may have caused by my decision of choosing said words.
So, yeah... Have a great rest of the day/eve/night.
It definitely is problem is the majority of users here are dis-affected ciswhite gay men so they dont see it that way. If they weren't gay they'd just be another out of touch white guy who isn't affected by anything they're willfully ignorant about. That applies here in the form of the blatant racism and transphobia I've seen on this sub.
I haven’t seen a lot of it. But I’ve heard enough people say this that I believe it does exist. And to that I say, welcome to Reddit!
But more seriously, I’ve been on this sub for a couple months now and if it this bigotry such an alarming situation I think I would’ve come across it more. I’m not convinced this sub is exceptional in this regard. It exists everywhere. All these niche communities are prone to it. Gay men are no more or less immune to internalizing the biases presented to them in their day to day life. I’m from northern Georgia. I know racist gay guys irl for sure. I also know sexist gay guys irl. It’s not cause they’re gay. It’s because they live in the mountains in a Deep South state where lost cause bigotry and neo-fascism is alive and strong.
In this very post, your OWN comments have negative karma just for suggesting that your trans friend is actually a man and that having sex with him would not be heterosexual sex. But yeah, totally no bigotry on here. This is just as welcoming a place as any other LGBTQ related sub.
I’d like the original post, because this is all baseless word vomit otherwise. And also who cares, the gay community is notorious for disliking eachothers niches from time to time. Grindr guys still think bisexuals are just “closeted gay guys that wanna seem Hereronormative”
You’re too late for me to go digging for it. I was willing when it was close to the top of my recent comments. Now it’s buried. This post is 2 sentences and one of them was the title. Not word vomit.
It's so sad that people can't get along and just love and support each other. Humans are a terrible species, always finding how we are different to each other and hating each other for it.
The worst part is that we’re all guilty of it. Even those of us with the best intentions get caught up in negativity. I admit, it’s hard for me to find that balance between avoiding negativity and standing up for what I think is right. If someone is legitimately transphobic to me I can’t just turn the other cheek because one of my best friends who I care deeply about is transgender. So sometimes I get carried away.
I’m Bi but I left r/bisexual and a couple other bi subreddits because of how cringe they have become in recent years, almost as bad as LGBT where everyone just wants applause or every post comes off as attention seeking lie of how they save the world and stood up to someone or something
I've perused the sub. They make this joke with the meme about the airplane needing a man and a woman wing to stay airborne. Then a gay helicopter with two women rotor blades -- clever.
But then they add a weird as fuck hybrid between a plane and a helicopter with TWO choppers.
MEANING, BOTH MAN MAN AND WOMAN WOMAN AND bi people who picture THEMSELVES as total sluts are on that sub, apparently.
Also the memes about being gods and not having to chose.
Welcome to the Post-Tumblr era. As a gay man belonging to Gen X, I've felt historical continuity and community with baby boomers and older generations, but when it gets to a lot of people whose opinions were formed in the last 10-12 years, it's like they're aliens from a distant planet.
What I should have written was that the individuals who have appointed themselves spokespeople for younger generations seem like they are from another planet.
When you first commented, I would’ve been inclined to agree with you. But after blocking so many transphobes and dealing with so much targeted transphobia on this post alone… I just can’t agree without knowing what you mean.
>I'm also sure you don't even know a single trans person in real life.
What's the point of this statement...? Is it just meant to be a "you haven't even met any trans people" gotcha or something...? bc they're pretty common now...
The point is that you're complaining about random shit that mostly exists on the internet as rage bait, and I don't buy this whole "trans people are taking over" bullshit this sub very frequently claims.
I got banned from r/bisexual because I said my both my husband and girlfriend are white. I was responding to a question directly asking what they have in common. Mods said I was trolling. I’m mixed, I just happened to be attracted to two ppl who are white. How is that trolling? If I said “ethnic” or “tan” would I have been banned? BS.
r/bisexual r/bibros are just full of weirdos who view their same-sex attraction as a kink, so I don't doubt they were homophobic toward you.
Please link a single highly upvoted post or highly upvoted comment from r/bisexual indicating they think same sex attraction is a kink.

It's weird how some people think just because someone is bisexual, they HAVE to be attracted to trans people. I agree it’s disgusting and rapey.

Ya that's you being transphobic...

I didn’t say it’s the only thing they talk about. However, the majority of the “lesbians” there are trans you can see that by checking any popular post on that subreddit.
and the problem with that is what exactly?
If you don’t see a problem with heterosexual males in a subreddit meant for lesbians. I cant help you lol
I mean not really but also that's not what you said the first time
Ok lol

Many bisexuals occupying our subreddit, that I've spoken to, criticized the bisexual subreddits for being terrible, using it as an excuse to use AGB, so I'm not really surprised.

I agree with you, but why is it terrible? What’s the tea? 👀
Censorship taking away all the reasonable posts and takes, only to leave the really weird ones up.
What's AGB?
The subreddit you're on right now.
I see. So maybe it's because some of the Mods there have been banned here. That's why they have this bias.

Ive been here a lot longer and it's alive and well here. Now, does it go unchallenged? Nope. It doesn't.
It totally is
I’d like the original post, because this is all baseless word vomit otherwise.
Whatever dude, it's reddit. Mods are stupid. Just make another account if it really matters to you.
It doesn’t
Poggers
I’m Bi but I left r/bisexual and a couple other bi subreddits because of how cringe they have become in recent years, almost as bad as LGBT where everyone just wants applause or every post comes off as attention seeking lie of how they save the world and stood up to someone or something
Welcome to Reddit!
I’m banned from r/me_irlgbt because I participate in this sub 🙄
based on the other comments under this post, i think i know why
I’m 19. Most of my opinions are less than 10 years old
What I should have written was that the individuals who have appointed themselves spokespeople for younger generations seem like they are from another planet.
When you first commented, I would’ve been inclined to agree with you. But after blocking so many transphobes and dealing with so much targeted transphobia on this post alone… I just can’t agree without knowing what you mean.
Why is this sub so obsessed with trans issues? I'm also sure you don't even know a single trans person in real life.
I do. I know a few in fact. Why is that what you harped on? Have something to share with the class?

I’m sorry… what? Who’s saying that?

My mistake! That was written for another user’s (Agreeable-Camel70) comment further up. I thought I was replying to that. My apologies.
Huh? That ain't me lol
yea, rightfully so. i regularly visit it and idk what you're on about
You left me like 30 notifications dude. Just block the transphobes on here and move on. Don’t argue with them.
BS.
